신장암 표준임상빅데이터 구축 및 머신러닝 기반 치료결정지원시스템 개발 (Constructing a Standard Clinical Big Database for Kidney Cancer and Development of Machine Learning Based Treatment Decision Support Systems)

  • Since renal cell carcinoma(RCC) has various examination and treatment methods according to clinical stage and histopathological characteristics, it is required to determine accurate and efficient treatment methods in the clinical field. However, the process of collecting and processing RCC medical data is difficult and complex, so there is currently no AI-based clinical decision support system for RCC treatments worldwide. In this study, we propose a clinical decision support system that helps clinicians decide on a precision treatment to each patient. RCC standard big database is built by collecting structured and unstructured data from the standard common data model and electronic medical information system. Based on this, various machine learning classification algorithms are applied to support a better clinical decision making.

GPS 재밍탐지를 위한 기계학습 적용 및 성능 분석 (Application and Performance Analysis of Machine Learning for GPS Jamming Detection)

  • 최근 GPS 재밍으로 인한 피해가 증가되면서 GPS 재밍을 탐지하고 대비하기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문은 다중 GPS 수신채널과 3가지 기계학습을 이용한 GPS 재밍 탐지 방법을 다루고 있다. 제안된 다중 GPS 채널은 항재밍 기능이 없는 상용 GPS 수신기와 항잡음 재밍능력만 있는 수신기, 항잡음/항기만 재밍능력이 있는 수신기로 구성되고 운용자는 각각의 수신기에 수신된 좌표를 비교하여 재밍신호의 특성을 식별할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 신호특성이 다른 각각의 5개 재밍신호를 입력하고, 3가지 기계학습방법(AB: Adaptive Boosting, SVM: Support Vector Machine, DT: Decision Tree)을 이용하여 재밍탐지 시험을 수행하였다. 시험 결과 머신러닝 기법을 단독으로 사용하였을 때 DT 기법이 96.9% 탐지율로 가장 우수한 성능을 보였으며 이진분류기 기법에 비해 모호성 낮고 하드웨어가 단순하여 GPS 재밍탐지에 효과적임을 확인하였다. 또한, 모호성을 해결해주는 추가기법을 적용할 경우 SVM 기법을 활용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

영어학습 도구로서 기계번역기의 가용성 분석 - as구문 역번역을 통하여 (Analysis of the Usability of Machine Translators as an English Learning Tool -Through backtranslation of the as phrase)

  • 기계번역기는 1950년대 처음 등장하였고 2010년대 신경망번역시스템을 적용하면서 번역정확성에 비약적인 발전을 하였다. 하지만 아직도 복잡한 문장의 번역에는 어려움을 겪고 있으며 이것은 영어학습 도구로서 기계번역기를 이용하는데 불편함을 주었다. 따라서 본 연구는 고등학교 1학년 수준의 문장들 중 다양한 뜻과 품사를 가지고 있는 as가 포함된 문장들을 분석대상으로 기계번역기를 이용한 역번역실험을 통해서 영어학습 도구로서 기계번역기의 가용성을 분석했다. 분석도구로는 신경망번역시스템을 이용한 대표적인 기계번역기인 구글 번역기, 네이버 파파고, 마이크로소프트 번역기를 이용하였다. 연구결과 기계번역기 사용시 각 as용법에 따라서 가용성이 유의하게 다른 것을 확인하였고 그에 따라 각 문장에 쓰인 as용법을 기계번역기를 사용하여 학습할 시 가용성이 높은 용법, 보통인 용법, 낮은 용법으로 분류하였다. 선행연구와는 다르게 직접 학습도구로서 기계번역기를 분석했고 접속사 as의 용법의 가용성을 수치화 시킨 데 있어서 본 연구는 연구적 공헌점을 가진다.

Development of a Machine-Learning based Human Activity Recognition System including Eastern-Asian Specific Activities

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a human activity recognition (HAR) system, which distinguishes 13 activities, including five activities commonly dealt with in conventional HAR researches and eight activities from the Eastern-Asian culture. The eight special activities include floor-sitting/standing, chair-sitting/standing, floor-lying/up, and bed-lying/up. We used a 3-axis accelerometer sensor on the wrist for data collection and designed a machine learning model for the activity classification. Data clustering through preprocessing and feature extraction/reduction is performed. We then tested six machine learning algorithms for recognition accuracy comparison. As a result, we have achieved an average accuracy of 99.7% for the 13 activities. This result is far better than the average accuracy of current HAR researches based on a smartwatch (89.4%). The superiority of the HAR system developed in this study is proven because we have achieved 98.7% accuracy with publically available 'pamap2' dataset of 12 activities, whose conventionally met the best accuracy is 96.6%.

  • This study explores the potential of utilizing video-based data analysis and machine learning techniques to estimate the number of occupants within a building. The research methodology involves developing a sophisticated counting system capable of detecting and tracking individuals' entry and exit patterns. The proposed method demonstrates promising results in various scenarios; however, it also identifies the need for improvements in camera performance and external environmental conditions, such as lighting. The study emphasizes the significance of incorporating machine learning in architectural and urban planning applications, offering valuable insights for the field. In conclusion, the research calls for further investigation to address the limitations and enhance the system's accuracy, ultimately contributing to the development of a more robust and reliable solution for building occupancy estimation.

  • Through the growth of the fifth-generation networks and artificial intelligence technologies, new threats and challenges have appeared to wireless communication system, especially in cybersecurity. And IoT networks are gradually attractive stages for introduction of DDoS attacks due to integral frailer security and resource-constrained nature of IoT devices. This paper emphases on detecting DDoS attack in wireless networks by categorizing inward network packets on the transport layer as either "abnormal" or "normal" using the integration of machine learning algorithms knowledge-based system. In this paper, deep learning algorithms and CNN were autonomously trained for mitigating DDoS attacks. This paper lays importance on misuse based DDOS attacks which comprise TCP SYN-Flood and ICMP flood. The researcher uses CICIDS2017 and NSL-KDD dataset in training and testing the algorithms (model) while the experimentation phase. accuracy score is used to measure the classification performance of the four algorithms. the results display that the 99.93 performance is recorded.

  • The existing subtract image based intrusion detection system for CCTV digital images has a problem that it can not distinguish intruders from moving backgrounds that exist in the natural environment. In this paper, we tried to solve the problems of existing system by designing real - time intrusion detection system for CCTV digital image by combining subtract image based intrusion detection method and background learning artificial neural network technology. Our proposed system consists of three steps: subtract image based intrusion detection, background artificial neural network learning stage, and background artificial neural network evaluation stage. The final intrusion detection result is a combination of result of the subtract image based intrusion detection and the final intrusion detection result of the background artificial neural network. The step of subtract image based intrusion detection is a step of determining the occurrence of intrusion by obtaining a difference image between the background cumulative average image and the current frame image. In the background artificial neural network learning, the background is learned in a situation in which no intrusion occurs, and it is learned by dividing into a detection window unit set by the user. In the background artificial neural network evaluation, the learned background artificial neural network is used to produce background recognition or intrusion detection in the detection window unit. The proposed background learning intrusion detection system is able to detect intrusion more precisely than existing subtract image based intrusion detection system and adaptively execute machine learning on the background so that it can be operated as highly practical intrusion detection system.

  • This study presents the development of predictive models for uplift capacity of suction caisson in clay using an artificial intelligence technique, extreme learning machine (ELM). Other artificial intelligence models like artificial neural network (ANN), support vector machine (SVM), relevance vector machine (RVM) models are also developed to compare the ELM model with above models and available numerical models in terms of different statistical criteria. A ranking system is presented to evaluate present models in identifying the 'best' model. Sensitivity analyses are made to identify important inputs contributing to the developed models.

  • Emergent computing paradigms such as genetic algorithms have found increased use in problems in engineering design. These computational tools have been shown to be applicable in the solution of generically difficult design optimization problems characterized by nonconvexities in the design space and the presence of discrete and integer design variables. Another aspect of these computational paradigms that have been lumped under the bread subject category of soft computing, is the domain of artificial intelligence, knowledge-based expert system, and machine learning. The paper explores a machine learning paradigm referred to as teaming classifier systems to construct the high-quality global function approximations between the design variables and a response function for subsequent use in design optimization. A classifier system is a machine teaming system which learns syntactically simple string rules, called classifiers for guiding the system's performance in an arbitrary environment. The capability of a learning classifier system facilitates the adaptive selection of the optimal number of training data according to the noise and multimodality in the design space of interest. The present study used the polynomial based response surface as global function approximation tools and showed its effectiveness in the improvement on the approximation performance.

  • 무기 체계(or 구성품) 개발은 한정된 개발기간과 비용 등의 제한으로 시험 횟수가 많지 않아, 고장관련 축적된 데이터의 규모도 적다. 그러나 운용 중 발생한 고장 및 정비내역은 많은 부분 전산 데이터로 관리하고 있기 때문에 이를 활용한 무기 체계(or 구성품)의 고장원인 분석은 가능하다. 다만 다양한 무기체계의 고장 및 정비내역 작성 규격이 각 군 별, 업체별 상이하고, 고장 원인의 구체적 내역은 비정형 텍스트 데이터로 기술되어 있기 때문에 이를 분석하는데 어려움이 있었다. 그러나 오늘날 빅데이터 처리 기술과 기계학습(Machine Learning) 알고리즘의 발전, HW연산 능력의 개선과 맞물려, 상기와 같은 비정형 데이터를 처리 할 수 있는 여러 가지 방법들이 시도 되고 있으며, 주요한 연구 분야로 활발히 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 국방 무기 체계(or 구성품)의 고장/정비 관련 비정형 데이터를 기계학습 기법 중 하나인 doc2vec을 적용하여 고장사례 분석 방안에 대하여 제시한다.
