Eye and Mouth Images Based Facial Expressions Recognition Using PCA and Template Matching (PCA와 템플릿 정합을 사용한 눈 및 입 영상 기반 얼굴 표정 인식)

  • This paper proposed a recognition algorithm of human facial expressions using the PCA and the template matching. Firstly, face image is acquired using the Haar-like feature mask from an input image. The face image is divided into two images. One is the upper image including eye and eyebrow. The other is the lower image including mouth and jaw. The extraction of facial components, such as eye and mouth, begins getting eye image and mouth image. Then an eigenface is produced by the PCA training process with learning images. An eigeneye and an eigenmouth are produced from the eigenface. The eye image is obtained by the template matching the upper image with the eigeneye, and the mouth image is obtained by the template matching the lower image with the eigenmouth. The face recognition uses geometrical properties of the eye and mouth. The simulation results show that the proposed method has superior extraction ratio rather than previous results; the extraction ratio of mouth image is particularly reached to 99%. The face recognition system using the proposed method shows that recognition ratio is greater than 80% about three facial expressions, which are fright, being angered, happiness.

Current Conditions and Students' Perception on Mathematics Exhibition (수학체험전의 실태와 학생들의 인식)

  • The mathematics exhibition gives visitors a special chance to experience mathematics materials through a variety of exhibits. Thus, the study should be carried out by examining the impact on students' perception in the area of mathematics education. This study was conducted based on the three domestic mathematics exhibitions. I carried out the study, with the population of the middle and high school students consisted of 393 attendees and 135 volunteers at the exhibitions, to examine (1) the current condition of exhibitions' operating system and exhibits, (2) the reaction to the exhibits' contents, presentation methods, exhibitions' operating systems, and facilities, and (3) the cognitive and affective effects on the students' perception, engagement, and motivation. From the research-based study, I found more pros on the mathematics exhibition than cons. Therefore, in my opinion, the exhibition's role should be defined as an efficient supplementary method to complement the school curriculum. It is also necessary to develop the appropriate exhibits' contents reflecting the students' levels and needs. The government should provide enough financial supports to various mathematics exhibitions in order to install amenities and facilities for visitors.

  • The actress of the movie is an operating system called Samantha. She only has a voice in the movie. Theodore, the main actor writes letters for his clients. He got married Katherin after dating for years but they failed to maintain their relationship. It was hard for them to grow with distance. On the contrary, the learning OS doesn't have any fixed pattern and any limits, so it becomes the ideal partner for him. Since she was accessed by him, Samantha has expanded her ability rhizomatically. She could have sex with human and philosophical debates with a departed philosopher. While they have relationship, Theodore experiences the expansion of his conscience. Love cannot be confined in a small box. After realizing how to love people around him, he sends a love letter to Katherine with all his heart. The meaning of co-existing with A.I. and human is to have a chance to introspect our inner side of mind more deeply.

  • Curriculum for mathematic sis the system that selects and organizes the contents which have to be taught in school. Ultimately it can be the whole plan of school mathematical education. The study about curriculum for mathematics is the basic study field of the mathematical education, so curriculum-related studies have been continuously promoted in terms of character, organization and implement of the curriculum, learning contents contained by the curriculum, the connection between school levels, and comparison and analysis of domestic and foreign curricula. Thus, this paper investigated the 2009 Revised Curriculum for Mathematics, which is the curriculum of Korea and the CCSSM which is the curriculum of the U.S. Both have been adopted in schools recently. The purpose of this study is to understand the curricula for mathematics in elementary school of Korea and the U.S. in depth and obtain the implication for the further curriculum revision, by comparing and analyzing the curricula of two countries.

  • Objective : We tried to seek for conflicts of views among the contents in Sasang Constitutional Medicine and Traditional Medicine based on Huangdi's Internal Classic, and to study about the Range of Lee Je-Ma's Works, therefore finding out the limit of Sasang Constitutional Medicine in view of learning contents and practice of theory. Method : Through the texts of Longevity and Life Preservation in Eastern Medicine, such subjects will be investigated as Lee Je-Ma(李濟馬)'s comments on Huangdi's Internal Classic and views on the herbal medicine, the relations among five viscera(五臟), taeguk(太極), four-constitution(四象), etc. Result : Lee Je-Ma's Sasang Constitutional Medicine does not goes well in harmony with the traditional physiology which is based on the functional five zang system developed in Huangdi's Internal Classic, and is hard to understand because of its four division method rooted in confucius academy. Conclusion : Lee Je-Ma's view of medicine is one of the practical and valuable parts of Korean Medicine, however, its extreme four-division structure theory could be difficult to be accepted as its whole form. This is because he studied himself as a confucian, so that his work might rather be confucian than medical. When he fully devoted himself to Sasang Constitutional Medicine, he already took his age much.

Transforming Traditional Ganggangsulae into Popular Modern Plays (전통 강강술래의 현대화를 통한 대중화 방안)

  • Ganggangsulae, a traditional Korean circle-dance play, is valuable as the material for learning the traditional culture. Most people realize the importance of the Ganggangsulae as the traditional play. However, schools have experienced difficulties in teaching the Ganggangsulae to students since students are not interested in it due to the lack of systematic and proper instruction methods. In order to develop these methods, it is required to enforce researches in reinventing traditional Ganggangsulae into modern and popular life sports based on various scientific analyses. In this paper, we analyze the current instruction methods and the corresponding effects in teaching Ganggangsulae in the elementary schools. Also the effect of exercise is also analyzed for each play of Ganggangsulae. Based on these analyses, we present a model of player-centric Ganggangsulae system which can be reorganized its plays for a specific purpose. The proposed model characterizes Ganggangsulae in terms of the evolutionary variety and modular structure.

  • This research is focused on the development of the proprietary database embedded in the OTT device, which is used for searching and indexing video contents, and also the development of the search algorithm in the form of the critical components of the interface application with the OTT's database to provide video query searching, such as remote control smartphone application. As the number of available channels has increased to anywhere from dozens to hundreds of channels, it has become increasingly difficult for the viewer to find programs they want to watch. To address this issue, content providers are now in need of methods to recommend programs catering to each viewer's preference. the present study aims provide of the algorithm which recommends contents of OTT program by analyzing personal watching pattern based on one's history.

  • This paper is a study on the cyber education center, OpenEdu, developing on internet. The conventional cyber university is allowed for ID user only, but OpenEdu is opened all internet user for open education and it has a various content. free of charge and high quality. Also. in this system, we support the various 500 contents, other efficiently services and it is a self-learning(asynchronous) distance education application(HTML, PDF. Front Page) on cyber-space using the information super highway It will make the cyber education center from new paradigm of distance education. The purpose of OPenEdu provides a async. distance education service, free of charge to obtain many various contents on internet. The future study is enhanced user interface and upgraded content quality.

  • Agent acts for specification purpose, which is common element of CGF (Computer Generated Forces). When basic agent acts as planned, the advanced intelligence agent can do more than this. It can follow predefined actions along appointed script to achieve purpose or lay another plans when it is difficult to achieve. In other words, it can amend plan again or make new plan in order to achieve goals. When plan fails, agent amends oneself, possibly decreases target level to achieve easily. In doing so, the agent calculates a quantitative value for changing plans in realtime, and choose appropriate alternative plans when the threshold value reaches an limit. In this paper, we propose an military system in which the planned action can be modified according to the level of achievement and alternative plans can be generated accordingly.

Relationship between the High School Chemistry I, II, and the General Chemistry, and College Students' Cognition about the Subject (대학교 일반화학과 고등학교 화학 I, 화학 II 교과의 연계성 및 일반화학에 대한 대학생들의 인식조사)

  • The chemistry has the academic system in which a concept is jointly developed into the single strain, so the contents of the chemistry I II of the high school are very important in the connection of the general chemistry in the university. At this moment, it is possible for high school graduates to be accepted into science or engineering majors without taking the chemistry II. These the highest intensive election subject cause problems of differences in level of understanding and difficult of quality educations. In this study, we have analyzed similarity between the contents of the chemistry I II and the general chemistry. We also analyzed the cognition level of students without taking the chemistry II in understanding the general chemistry level classes. We found that the high school level chemistry I and II introduced about 27% and 62% of the essential concepts required for the general chemistry, respectively. In a case of M university in Chonnam, about 70% of students in the general chemistry classes have no exposure to the chemistry II in their high schools, causing difficulty of understanding new subjects due to their insufficient concepts for classes. The lack of knowledge caused lowering of learning achievement and decrease of interests in chemistry.
