사회복지교육에서의 서비스러닝 적용 연구 (A Study on Implementation of Service-Learning in Social Work Education)

  • While the endeavor to introduce the service activity in the college education is enlarged, the object of this study is to introduce the concept of service learning in social work education. The 'content centered service-learning' is focusing on the practical education, the liaison and participation in community and the promotion of civil awareness which are very important in social work education that focuses on the interest and participation in the human and social problem as practical study. This study contemplates the educational effect of the course of social work combined with service learning. This study verifies the self-efficacy, the altruism, the change of social responsibility of students and the effect by carrying out the course of social welfare and service activities side by side. To evaluate the effect of service learning, pre and post test and qualitative analysis in journal of service activity, the discussion during the class and the mid and final term evaluation were done. Through the service learning, students showed the promotion in self-esteem, the altruism, the social responsibility, the self insights as a social worker and were able to have the chance to consider their future job. From the view point of local centers, it was evaluated that the service activity of students was helpful to the institutions and the clients, and that the liaison between the community agency and the college and the experience of integration of service learning and the course of social welfare was helpful too. Based on the above mentioned results, this study provide some recommendations in implementation of service-learning as the teaching methodology of social work.

미래학습에서의 Learning by Teaching 적용가능성 (Reconsidering the Concept and Potential of Learning by Teaching)

  • Learning by teaching (LbT) has long been recognized as an important learning behavior that constructs meaning based on interactions between learners. This study aimed to explore the meaning of LbT as an important learning activity for future implementation in education. LbT is based on the cultural historical activity theory and sociocultural learning theory, as developed by scholars including Vygotsky. These frameworks value the construction of meaning based on language, and LbT is reported to be effective in constructing meaning. In addition, within the zone of proximal development posited by Vygotsky, learning through interaction between learners improves academic achievement, higher-order thinking, deep learning, and reflective learning. LbT also promotes students' learning presence, and strengthens various competencies such as collaboration and communication skills. Interactive behavior between learners in the form of LbT has been explored as an approach to teaching and learning, with methods including peer learning, peer tutoring, peer teaching, peer mentoring, Lernen durch Lehren, and peer-assisted learning. LbT has also been applied as a learning method. In the future, LbT has boundless potential to improve learning through activities such as flipped learning or online learning based on interactions between learners.

  • In the field of computer vision, visual surveillance systems have recently become an important research topic. Growth in this area is being driven by both the increase in the availability of inexpensive computing devices and image sensors as well as the general inefficiency of manual surveillance and monitoring. In particular, the ultimate goal for many visual surveillance systems is to provide automatic activity recognition for events at a given site. A higher level of understanding of these activities requires certain lower-level computer vision tasks to be performed. So in this paper, we propose an intelligent activity recognition model that uses a structure learning method and a classification method. The structure learning method is provided as a K2-learning algorithm that generates Bayesian networks of causal relationships between sensors for a given activity. The statistical characteristics of the sensor values and the topological characteristics of the generated graphs are learned for each activity, and then a neural network is designed to classify the current activity according to the features extracted from the multiple sensor values that have been collected. Finally, the proposed method is implemented and tested by using PETS2013 benchmark data.

Co-evolving with Material Artifacts: Learning Science through Technological Design

  • Recent studies of science and technology "in-the-making" revealed that the process of designing material artifacts is not a straightforward application of prior images or theories by one (or more) person(s) isolated from his or her (their) environment. Rather, designing is a process contingent on the social and material setting for both engineering designers and students. Over the past decade, designing technological artifacts has emerged as an important learning environment in science classrooms. Through the analyses of a large database concerning an innovative simple machines curriculum for sixth-and seventh-grade students, we accumulated valid evidence for the nature of the designing process and science learning through it. In this paper, we show that design actions intertwine with the transformation of the objectified raw materials and artifact, the designer collective, and the mediating tools enabling that transformation, which constitute the elements of an activity from the perspective of cultural-historical activity theory. We conceptualize the continuous change of relation between material artifacts, designers, and tools throughout the design activity as co-evolution. Two episodes were selected to exemplify synchronic and diachronic change of relations inherent in co-evolving activity system. Finally, we discuss the implications of co-evolution during design activity for science learning.

Design of Programming Learning Process using Hybrid Programming Environment for Computing Education

  • Many researches indicate that programming learning could help improve problem solving skills through algorithmic thinking. But in general, programming learning has been focused on programming language features and it also gave a heavy cognitive load to learners. Therefore, this paper proposes a programming activity process to improve novice programming learners' algorithmic thinking efficiently. An experiment was performed to measure the effectiveness of the proposed programming activity process. After the experiment, the learners' perception on programming was shown to be changed, to effective activity in improving problem solving.

Deep Learning-based Pet Monitoring System and Activity Recognition device

  • 본 논문에서는 활동 인식장치를 이용한 딥러닝 기반의 반려동물 모니터링 시스템을 제안한다.이 시스템은 반려동물의 활동 인식장치와 반려인의 스마트 기기, 서버로 구성된다. 아두이노 기반 활동 인식 장치로부터 가속도와 자이로 데이터를 수집하고, 이로부터 반려동물의 걸음 수를 연산하였다. 수집된 데이터는 전처리 과정을 거쳐 CNN과 LSTM을 하이브리드한 딥러닝 모델을 통해 5가지 형태(앉기, 서기, 눕기, 걷기, 뛰기)로 활동을 인식함으로써 활동량을 측정한다. 마지막으로, 반려인의 스마트 기기에 일일 및 주간 브리핑 차트 등 활동 변화에 대한 모니터링을 제공한다. 성능 평가 결과, 반려동물의 구체화된 활동 인식 및 활동량 측정이 가능함을 확인하였다. 향후 데이터 축적을 통해 반려동물의 이상행동 탐지 및 헬스 케어 서비스의 확장을 기대할 수 있다.

활동이론 관점에서 플립러닝 수업활동 분석 (An Analysis of the Flipped Learning Activities by the Activity Theory)

  • 본 연구는 최근 대학에서 학습자 중심 수업방법으로 각광받고 있는 플립러닝 수업활동을 문화역사적 활동이론 관점에서 분석하고자 하였다. A대학교에서 2018학년도 2학기에 개설된 [교육방법 및 교육공학]을 플립러닝으로 개발하여 운영하였고, 교과목 담당교수와 수강학생을 대상으로 설문조사와 참여관찰을 실시하였다. 활동이론은 복합적이고 다각적인 교육현상을 활동체제의 구성요소와 이들 간 상호작용, 매개되는 도구 등을 중심으로 분석하는 틀을 제공한다. 따라서 Engestrőm의 활동체제 모형을 근거로 플립러닝 수업활동의 구성요소를 주체, 객체, 학습도구, 수업 규칙, 학습공동체, 역할 분담으로 분석하였고, 그 과정에서 나타난 모순과 역동성을 분석하였다. 학습자 중심 수업방식인 플립러닝에 대해 교수자와 학습자 모두 전반적으로 높은 만족감을 보였고, 학습내용 이해와 학습목표 성취에 도움이 되었다는 반응을 보였다. 보다 발전적인 플립러닝 활동체제를 위한 시사점으로 교수자와 학습자의 진정한 주체 인식과 역할 수행, 온라인과 오프라인 활동의 유기적 연계 강화, 수업준비 및 학습준비 부담 완화를 위한 지원, 원활한 운영을 지원하는 시스템 정비를 제안하였다.

우리나라 고령층의 경제활동 수준 예측 - 머신러닝 기법과 연계한 예측조합법을 중심으로 - (Prediction on the Economic Activity Level of the Elderly in South Korea - Focusing on Machine Learning Method Combined with Forecast Combination -)

  • 본 연구는 급속한 고령화 시대에서 우리나라의 고령층의 경제활동 수준을 다양한 머신러닝 기법으로 정확히 예측하고자 하였다. 고령층의 경제활동 수준과 기존 연구들은 고령층의 삶의 만족도, 사회보장제도 등과 연관된 인과성 검증을 중심으로 이루어진 데 반해, 본 연구는 다양한 머신러닝 기법으로 고령층의 경제활동 수준을 예측하였으며, 특히 예측조합법을 함께 사용함으로써 예측의 안정성을 도모하였다. 60세 이상의 경제활동참가율, 취업률 등을 종속변수로 하고 가구 특성, 소득, 평균임금 등을 설명변수로 설정하여 서로 다른 특성을 지닌 5가지의 머신러닝 기법과 2가지의 예측조합법을 적용하여 예측결과들을 비교하였다. 분석 결과, 종속변수별, 예측구간별로 예측성능이 높은 머신러닝 기법 및 예측조합법은 상이하였으나, 예측의 안정성 측면에서는 예측조합법이 상대적으로 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라, 본 연구는 고령층의 경제활동 수준을 정확히 예측하고 예측의 안정성을 도모하여 정책적 관점에서도 실용성을 제고한다고 볼 수 있다.

"전문가 학습 활동"모형의 효율적 운영을 위한 웹 기반 교수.학습 시스템 개발 (The development of web based teaching and learning system for the efficient operation of "professional learning activity" model)

  • 교육 주변 환경의 급속한 변화와 발전에 따라 교육 현장에서도 학습자 스스로 지식의 구조를 형성하는 개인별 소집단 학습의 자기 주도적 학습이 강조되고 있는데, 이에 적합한 모형으로 전문가 학습 활동이 있다. 그러나 기존의 전문가 학습 활동이 학습자 중심으로 이루어졌으나 주로 학습지 중심의 학습이 대부분이었고, 단위시간에 학습 문제를 해결하기에는 시간이 많이 부족하여 블록타임으로 많이 이루어졌다. 그러나 이것은 교육과정 운영이나 시간표 운영에 있어 어려움이 있고, 초등학생의 학습 집중도를 고려해 볼 때 문제점이 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 기존의 전문가 학습 활동 모형의 장점과 단점을 파악하여 웹기반 수업에서 더욱 효율적으로 활용하기 위한 교수 전략을 수립하고, 학습 주체간의 상호작용을 강화한 모듈들을 구성하였다. 또한, 원모듬 학습을 웹상에서 이루어지게 함으로써 학습문제를 블록타임은 물론, 단위시간 안에 해결할 수 있도록 웹기반 전문가 교수 학습 시스템을 개발하였고 이를 대전 S초등학교 5학년에 적용한 후, 그 결과를 분석하였다.

COVID-19 팬데믹이 대학생의 신체적 활동과 정신적 건강에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Physical Activity and Mental Health of University Students)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the lecture method and physical activity level of Korean university students during the COVID-19 pandemic to determine their effect on the students' mental health, self-efficacy, and learning motivation. Methods : A total of 203 participants (53 male, 150 female) completed the study. An online survey was distributed through a social media platform between March 24 and April 7, 2021. Participants completed the international physical activity questionnaire-short form (IPAQ-SF), COVID-19 stress scale for Korean people (CSSK), the Korean version of the general health questionnaire (KGHQ-30), and self-efficacy and learning motivation scales. Results : Among the general characteristics of the study subjects, there were statistically significant differences in the IPAQ-SF, CSSK, KGHQ, self-efficacy, and learning motivation measures by sex. There were no significant differences in the degree of IPAQ-SF, CSSK, KGHQ, self-efficacy, and learning motivation among any of the lecture method and university area groups. The level of physical activity corresponded with significant differences in KGHQ, self-efficacy, and learning motivation, excluding CSSK. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between IPAQ and self-efficacy (r=.273, p<.001), IPAQ-SF and learning motivation (r=.201, p<.01), CSSK and KGHQ (r=.271, p<.001), self-efficacy and learning motivation measures (r=.506, p<.001). There was a statistically significant negative correlation between IPAQ-SF and KGHQ (r=-.203, p<.01) and between KGHQ and self-efficacy (r=-.558, p<.001). Conclusion : CSSK and KGHQ measures were significantly higher in female students than in male students. Therefore, it is important to consider sex as a protective factor in the mental health management of university students in the context of an infectious disease pandemic. The results of this study suggest that university students should continue to engage in physical activities, even during a pandemic, and that it is necessary to prepare health management to improve mental health in such situations.
