  • 촉매 연소는 낮은 온도와 희박한 조건에서 연소가 가능할 뿐만 아니라 $NO_x$, CO, UHC와 같은 오염물질을 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있다. 하지만 촉매연소는 균질 반응뿐만 아니라 비균질 반응에 의해서 지배되는 매우 복잡한 반응과정을 가지고 있기 때문에 촉매 연소기의 안정적인 작동을 위해서는 다양한 탄화수소의 촉매연소 특성에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 연구에서는 메탄 촉매연소 특성에 대한 수치적 연구의 검증을 거친 후 수소의 공급량, 과잉공기비, 그리고 공간속도의 변화에 따른 프로판의 촉매연소 특성을 고찰하였다.

  • NaY 제올라이트에 Pt/Rh비를 달리하여 이온교환법으로 제조한 Pt-Rh촉매의 특성을$^{129}Xe$-NMR과 EXAFS 방법으로 특성조사를 하였다. $^{129}Xe$-NMR과 EXAFS 자료는 PtRh 이원금속 클러스터의 표면으로 Rh 원자들이 모이는 것으로 나타났다. 모사 자동차 배기가스를 사용하여 희박, 과농 및 양론조건에서 CO, HC 및 $NO_x$ 전환율을 측정하였으며, Pt-Rh/NaY(Pt/Rh=1) 이원금속 촉매가 다른 촉매들보다 세가지 오염물질에 대한 반응활성이 높게 나타남을 알 수 있었다.

  • A SCR catalytic filter system is used for reducing $NO_x$ and soot emissions simultaneously from diesel combustors. The amount of ammonia (as a reducing agent) must be controlled with the amount of $NO_x$ to obtain an optimal $NO_x$ conversion. Hence, gas mixing between ammonia and exhaust gases is vital to ensure that the SCR catalyst is optimally used. If ammonia mass distribution is not uniform, slip potential will occur in rich concentration areas. At lean areas, on the other hand, the catalyst is not fully active. The better mixing is indicated by the higher uniformity of ammonia mass distribution which is necessary to be considered in SCR catalytic filter system. The ammonia mass distributions are depended on the flow field of fluids. In this study, the velocity field of gaseous flow is investigated to characterize the transport of ammonia in SCR catalytic filter system. The influence of different injection placements on the ammonia mass distribution is also discussed. The results show that the ammonia mass distribution is more uniform for the injector directed radially perpendicular to the main flow of inlet at the gravitational direction than that at the side wall for both laminar (Re = 640) and turbulent flows (Re = 4255). It is also found that the mixing index decreases as increasing the heating temperature in the case of ammonia injected at the side wall.

The Experimental Study on the Low-temperature Combustion Characteristics of DME Fuel in a Compression Ignition Engine

  • The aim of this work is to investigate the combustion and exhaust emission characteristics of low-temperature combustion (LTC) at various EGR test conditions using a single cylinder common-rail diesel engine. In high EGR rate combustion mode with DME fuel, 30% (${\Phi}=0.61$) and 50% (${\Phi}=0.86$) of EGR were respectively examined, and then the combustion, exhaust emissions, nano-particle characteristics of each cases were measured. From these results, it revealed that The ignition delay and combustion duration are prolonged as the increase of EGR rate. In addition, at an advanced injection timing (BTDC $30^{\circ}$), ignition delays were fairly increased because the dilution effect of EGR and also low charge in-cylinder temperature created a lean mixture, thus decreased the peak release rate.

율동적 동작(Dance movement) 훈련이 노년기 여성의 생리, 심리적 변수에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Korean Traditional Dance Movement Training on Psychophysiological Variables in Korean Elderly Women)

  • Regular long term dance movement could be one of ways to induce improvement of psychophysiological variables, resulting in improvement of quality of life. However, there have been few studies to evaluate the effect of dance movement training on both physiological and psychological variables in the elderly. This study was focused to determine the effect of Korean traditional dance movement training on psychophysiological variables-body weight, body fat, lean body mass, muscle strength, muscle endurance, flexibility, agility, resting heart rate and blood pressure, depression and life satisfaction-in Korean elderly women. Thirty four subjects, aged between 65 and 75years who have normal cognition, sensory function, cerebellum function, cardiovascular function, participated in this study. Seventeen experimental group subjects were selected from E-elderly university in Kyung Gi province, and Seventeen control group subjects were selected from N-welfare facility in Seoul City. Seventeen experimental group subjects participated for 12weeks dance movement program. Korean traditional dance movement program was developed on the basis of Korean traditional dance and music by the author. The program consisted of approximately 50minutes of dance, 3times a week for 12weeks. During 50minutes workout, there were 15minutes of warm-up dancing, 25minutes of conditioning dance and 10minutes of cool-down dancing. The intensity for the conditioning phase was at between 60% and 65% of age-adjusted maximum heart rates. The body weight, body fat, lean body mass, muscle strength(grip strength, leg strength), muscle endurance, flexibility, agility, resting heart rate and blood pressure, depression and life satis-faction were measured prior to and following the experimental treatment. The participants in dance movement were interviewed focusing on subjective feeling following 12 week's regular dance movement. Data were analyzed with mean, standard deviation, percentage of change, X²-test, t-test, and ANCOVA test using SPSS PC/sup +/ program. Subjective feeling was categorized into cognitopsy-chological and physiological responses. Results were obtained as follows : 1) The body weight (F=15.52, p=.000), body fat (F=18.33, p=.000) and lean body mass (F=7.28, p=.011) of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group following the dance movement training. 2) The leg strength (F=30.96, p=.000), muscle endurance (F=9.06, p=.005), agility(F=44.92, 000), flexibility(F=6.84, p=.014) of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group following the dance movement training. There was no significant difference of grip strength(F=.43, p=.515) between experimental and control groups. 3) The heart rate(F=26.96, p=.000), systolic (F=10.40, p=.000) and diastolic(F=3.99, p=.005) blood pressure at rest of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group following the dance movement training. 4) No significant difference of score of depression (F=3.49, p=.071) was observed between experimental and control groups. 5) Score of life satisfaction of experimental group was remarkably higher than that of control group following 12weeks of dance movement training (p<0.05). 6) Thematic responses about the dance movement following the training were positive. "I feel good" was the most frequent among cognitopsychological responses and "I feel lightness of body" was the most frequent among physiological responses. The results suggest that Korean traditional dance movement training can improve psychophysiological variables of Korean elderly.

선박용 가스엔진의 NOx 배출량예측에 관한 연구 (Prediction of NOx emission for marine gas engines)

  • 선박용 디젤엔진에서 천연가스의 사용기술은 NOx, SOx 및 GHG의 배출을 단독으로 크게 삭감할 수 있는 기술이다. 특히 셰일가스의 등장으로 가스의 공급이 확대될 것으로 예상되는 가운데 추진기관용 2행정기관에의 이용이 적극적으로 개발 검토되고 있다. 가스엔진의 출력성능은 디젤기관과 비교하여 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으며 연료소비율은 약간 개선되는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 그러나 배기특성에 있어서는 연소기술에 따라서 다른 성능을 나타내고 있으며 희박연소기술에 의하여 NOx 배출량은 85%정도의 감축이 가능한 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 가스엔진의 연소생성물의 발생량을 시뮬레이션 할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발된 프로그램은 희박연소의 영향은 물론 예혼합연소와 확산연소에 의한 영향도 시뮬레이션 할 수 있는 기능을 가지고 있다. 이를 위해서 실린더 내 상태변화는 2영역모델(Two-zone model)을 이용하고 열발생율 패턴은 Wiebe 함수를 이용하며, 공연비를 입력데이터로 하여 다양한 연소조건에서의 배기생성물의 발생량 예측을 가능하게 하였다.

초록 : 비만 실험동물쥐 (obese Zucker rats)에서의 육미지황탕의 항당뇨 효과 (Anti-diabetic effect of Yukmijihwangtang-Jahage in obese Zucker rats)

  • The effect of the traditional herbal medicine Yukmijihwangtang-Jahage(YJ) on the improvement of insulin resistance and lipid profile was studied using a model for non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, lean (Fa/-) and obese (fa/fa) Zucker rats. Yukmijihwangtang-Jahage feeding for 4 weeks resulted in a significant decrease in the concentration of plasma triglyceride in both lean and obese Zucker rats. Furthermore, Yukmijihwangtang-Jahage markedly decreased both plasma cholesterol and fasting plasma insulin, and significantly decreased the postprandial glucose level at 30 min during oral glucose tolerance test in obese Zucker rats. Although there was no statistical significance, the crude glucose transporter 4 protein level of Yukmijihwangtang-Jahage dieted obese rats tended to increase when compared to that of obese control rats. Therefore, the present results suggested that Yukmijihwangtang-Jahage may be useful in prevention and improvement of metabolic disorders characterized by hyperinsulinemia states such as non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, syndrome X and coronary artery disease.

직분식 CNG 엔진에서 연료 분사시기의 변화가 연소 및 출력 특성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Fuel Injection Timing on Combustion and Power Characteristics in a DI CNG Engine)

  • Natural gas is one of the most promising alternatives to gasoline and diesel fuels because of its lower harmful emissions, including $CO_2$, and high thermal efficiency. In particular, natural gas is seen as an alternative fuel for heavy-duty Diesel Engines because of the lower resulting emissions of PM, $CO_2$ and $NO_x$. Almost all CNG vehicles use the PFI-type Engine. However, PFI-type CNG Engines have a lower brake horse power, because of reduced volumetric efficiency and lower burning speed. This is a result of gaseous charge and the time losses increase as compared with the DI-type. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of injection conditions (early injection mode, late injection mode) on the combustion phenomena and performances in the or CNG Engine. A DI Diesel Engine with the same specifications used in a previous study was modified to a DI CNG Engine, and injection pressure was constantly kept at 60bar by a two-stage pressure-reducing type regulator. In this study, excess air ratios were varied from 1.0 to the lean limit, at the load conditions 50% throttle open rate and 1700rpm. The combustion characteristics of the or CNG Engine - such as in-cylinder pressure, indicated thermal efficiency, cycle-by-cycle variation, combustion duration and emissions - were investigated. Through this method, it was possible to verify that the combustion duration, the lean limit and the emissions were improved by control of injection timing and the stratified mixture conditions. And combustion duration is affected by not only excess air ratio, injection timing and position of piston but gas flow condition.

수소-천연가스엔진에서 밸브오버랩 감소가 배기특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Reduced Valve Overlap on Emission Characteristics of Hydrogen-Compressed Natural Gas Engine)

  • 현행 배기가스규제인 유로6을 대응하기 위해선 질소산화물과 메탄의 배출량을 크게 저감시켜야 하는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 부분부하운전조건에서 밸브오버랩 감소가 수소-천연가스엔진의 연소 및 배기특성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 각 연료와 기존캠 및 밸브오버랩이 감소된 변경캠에 대하여 연소 및 배기특성을 분석하였다. 실험결과 변경캠을 사용하였을 때 열효율이 감소하고 연료유량이 증가하였다. 열효율 감소로 인하여 메탄과 이산화탄소의 배출량은 증가하였다. 희박한 운전조건에서 질소산화물 배출량은 기존캠 대비 감소하였다. 동일한 연료 및 운전조건에서는 효율과 배기특성에 악영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다.

1.6MW급 가스엔진의 개발 및 엔진성능평가 (Development and Performance Evaluation for 1.6MW Gas Engine)

  • 최근 엔진 메이커들은 원유가 인상 및 대기환경 규제에 대응하기 위하여 디젤엔진의 대안으로서 가스엔진 개발에 대한 관심이 증가되고 있다. 이에 STX는 22HLX 디젤엔진을 기초로 한 1.6MW급 가스엔진을 개발하였다. 예연소실 방식의 개발된 가스엔진은 엔진속도가 1000rpm에서 제동평균유효압력이 21bar이고 질소산화물 배출량이 50ppm(공기 중 산소함유 15% 기준)의 우수한 성능을 가진다. 특히 열효율 45%의 우수한 연료 경제성을 가지며 이산화탄소 배출량은 디젤엔진의 약 75%수준으로 온실가스 저감에도 효과적이다.
