The interaction of mixed convection and surface radiation in a printed circuit board(PCB) is investigated numerically. The electronic equipment is modeled by a two-dimensional channel with three hot blocks. In order to calculate the turbulent flow characteristics, the low Reynolds number k-.epsilon. model which is proposed by Launder and Sharma is applied. The S-4 approximation is used to solve the radiative transfer equation. The effects of the Reynolds number and geometric configuration variation of PCB on the flow and heat transfer characteristics are analyzed. As the results of this study, it is found that the thermal boundary layer occured at adiabatic wall in case with thermal radiation included, and the effect of radiation is also found to be insignificant for high Reynolds numbers. It is found, as well, that the heat transfer increases as the Reynolds number and block space increase and the channel height decreases and the heat transfer of vertical channel is greater than that of horizontal channel.

Substantial losses behind axial flow rotor are generated by the wake, various vortices in the hub region and the tip leakage vortex in the tip region. Particularly, the leakage vortex formed near blade tip is one of the main causes of the reduction of performance, generation of noise and aerodynamic vibration in downstream. In this study, the three-dimensional flow fields in an axial flow rotor were calculated with varying tip clearance under various flow rates, and the numerical results were compared with experimental ones. The numerical technique was based on SIMPLE algorithm using standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ model(WFM) and Launder & Sharma's Low Reynolds Number $k-{\varepsilon}$ model(LRN). Through calculations, the effects of tip clearance and attack angle on the 3-dimensional flow fileds behind a rotor and leakage flow/vortex were investigated. The presence of tip leakage vortex, loci of vortex center and its behavior behind the rotor for various tip clearances and attack angles was described well by calculation.

The paper describes the incorporation of an algebraic stress model(ASM) of turbulence in to a semi-elliptic solution procedure for the prediction of turbulent flow in passage around a 180.deg. square sectioned bend. The numerical results are obtained from a finite-volume discretization with applications of QUICK scheme and full find grid system without PSL approximation. Results show that the better agreements in velocity profiles with experimental data than those from k, $\varepsilon$ equation model with wall function and PSL are obtained. Predictions of Reynolds stresses also show good agreements with the experimental data.

Low Reynolds number second moment turbulence model which be applicable to the fine gird near the wall region was developed. In this model, turbulence model coefficients in the pressure strain model of the Reynolds stress equation was expressed as functions of turbulence Reynolds number $R_{t}\equivk^{2}/(\nu\varepsilon)).$ In the derivation procedure of the present low Reynolds number algebraic stress model, Laufer's near wall experimental data on Reynolds stresses were curve fitted as functions of R$_{t}$ and the resulting simultaneous equations of the model coefficients were solved by using the boundary conditions at wall and high Reynolds number limiting conditions. Predicted Reynolds stresses and dissipation rate of turbulent kinetic energy etc. in the 2 dimensional parallel, plane channel flow and pipe flow were compared with the preditions obtained by employing the Launder-Shima model, standard algebraic stress model and several experimental data. Results show that all the Reynolds stresses and dissipation rate of turbulent kinetic energy predicted by the present low Reynolds number algebraic stress model agree better with the experimental data than those predicted by other algebraic stress models.

Turmeric is aromatic, perennial herb, up to 1m high and distributed in East Asia. Parts used of it Rhizomes and is known to be used a medicinal stuff yellow dye stuff from past to nowadays in the Oriental region. The objectives of this study were to investigate and to compare to the dyeability of Turmeric according to pH, temperature, mordants, and the antimicrobial properties of wool dyed with turmeric. The results of this study are as follows: The wavelengths of the strongest absorption of Turmeric extract were 420 nm respectively. The extracted dye from Turmeric has affinity to wool. The dyeing rates are decreased according to diluting times and the dyeing rates are increased according to high temperature. The color of pH 3-7 is yellow green, over pH 9 is turned to orange yellow. The color of the non-mordant sample is yellow but it changed to bright yellow by Al, to orange yellow by Cu mordant, and to brown yellow by Fe mordant. The launder fastness and is not good, 2-4 grade and the light fastness is bad, 2-3 grade, but the dry-cleaning fastness is generally good, 4-5 grade. The fabrics dyed with Turmeric extract showed high antibacterial property on Staphylococcus aureus.

The removal and redeposition of particulate soil occur simultaneously during the washing process. In order to investigate variables which affect on the redeposition of particulate soil, cotton lawn was soiled in the ion oxide black suspension using Launder-O meter. The amount of deposited soil was estimated by means of the spectrometric analysis of iron on the fabric after soiled. The results are as follows: 1. The presence of surfactants b suspension decreased the deposition of particulate soil and the most effective surfactant was soap and the descending order was NaDBS>CTAB>PONPE. 2. The influnce of temperature on soil deposition was considerable, soil deposition was gradually increased with elevating temperature in ionic surfactants solution such as NaDBS and CTAB but that was decreased above $40^{\circ}C$ in nonionic surfactant solution. 3. The tendency of soil deposition was dwindled by adding electrolytes especially in case of polyvalent anions. 4. From the results of the experiments redeposition of particulate soil was related with suspending power of surfactants and was influenced by factors varing zeta potential.
Numerical analysis was peformed for the two-dimensional turbulent natural convection for a long horizontal line with different end temperatures. The turbulent model has been applied a standard k-$\varepsilon$ two equation model of turbulence similar to that the proposed by the Launder and Spalding. The dimensionless governing equations are solved by using SIMPLE (Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure Linked Equations) algorithm which is developed using control volumes and staggered grids. The numerical results are verified by comparison with the operating PWR test data. The analysis focuses on the effects of variation of the heat transfer rates at the pipe surface, the thermal conductivities of the pipe material and the thickness of the pipe wall on the thermal stratification. The results show that the heat transfer rate at the pipe surface is the controlling parameter for mitigating of thermal stratification in the long horizontal pipe. A significant reduction and disappearance of the thermal stratification phenomenon is observed at the Biot number of 4.82$\times$10$^{-1}$ . The results also show that the increment of the thermal conductivity and thickness of the wall weakens a little the thermal stratification and somewhat reduces temperature gradient of y-direction in the pipe wall. These effects are however minor, when compared with those due to the variation of the heat transfer rates at the surface of the pipe wall.

By laying its drum horizontally, front-loaded washing machine mostly used in Europe that uses the head of the water to launder was appropriate for washing only small amount of laundry. However, the demands of customers are requiring front-loaded washing machine to handle big capacity laundry as well, and have faster rotation speed to increase drying ability. To meet such demands, more stress from bending and twisting are complexly loaded onto the shaft supporting the horizontal drum, causing problems in fracture strength and fatigue life. Shafting system is mainly divided into flange and shaft. Flange is located between the drum and shaft, transferring power from the shaft to drum, and acting as a supporter of the back of the drum. Shaft is connected from the flange to insert production, transferring power from the motor to drum, and mainly acting as stiffness against the horizontal weight of the shafting system. In this paper, strength analysis and experiment were executed on both the shaft and flange of front-loaded washing machine to suggest the design improvement of shafting system for big capacity, high-rotation drying. Also, verification of this evaluation was executed on fracture strength and fatigue life for studied shaft system.
This study is proposed to research the rural clothing, dietary and housing style of living in order to adapt a basis which is supposed to improve the quality of rural life. The sample in this research comes from Daehang 1 Li, Bubuk Myun, Miryang Gun, Kyungnam, and the results are as following; Generally rural housewives are unconcerned with fashion or its information, instead, they care for the casual wear which represents economic and active life style. Because of their financial problems, inpurchasing, they spend only a small money without plan. When they launder Clothes, they use washing bat and pannel which is easy to break fabrics, and they ineffectively use to dry it by hands twisting. The total food intake per person in a day is 1170.6gram, and all nutrients intakes except fat and calcium exceed the recommended dietary allowances. But 90.3% of the food intakes are plant food, and the average food items taken per day per househod is 11.9items which are not so various, which represents the shortage of the nutrient quality. Both the nutrition knowledge score and the food habit score are very low. Therefore, in order to enhance the quality of clothing and diet in rural life, they need to learn clothing and nutrition management for their enlightment. The most comprehensive type of farmhouse site plan take the shape of ㄱ and ㄴ, and for the most part main building is the floor plan which includes 3-4 spans in front of the change from the type of traditional house, throught the revised one, to the type of newly built house. In main building of the farmhouse, kitchen, Kunbang and Chakunbang are extended to their real space, and both utility and the bathroom are added to build, and Malu is transformed into the living space.

The turbulent flow characteristics in the channel flow are investigated using large eddy simulation(LES) of FDS code, built in NIST(USA), in which the near-wall flow is solved by Werner-Wengle wall function. The periodic flow condition is applied in streamwise direction to get the fully developed turbulent flow and symmetric condition is applied in lateral direction. The height of the channel is H=1m, and the length of the channel is 6H, and the lateral length is H. The total grid is $32{\times}32{\times}32$ and $y^+$ is kept above 11 to fulfill the near-wall flow requirement. The Smagorinsky model is used to solve the sub-grid scale stress. Smagorinsky constant $C_s$ is 0.2(default in FDS). Three cases of Reynolds number(10,700, 26,000, 49,000.), based on the channel height, are analyzed. The simulated results are compared with direct numerical simulation(DNS) and particle image velocimetry(PIV) experimental data. The linear low-Re eddy viscosity model of Launder & Sharma and non-linear low-Re eddy viscosity model of Abe-Jang-Leschziner are utilized to compare the results with LES of FDS. Reynolds normal stresses, Reynolds shear stresses, turbulent kinetic energys and mean velocity flows are well compared with DNS and PIV data.
