차세대 분산형 고속열차의 후미진동 저감에 관한 연구 (A Study on Tail Vibration Reduction for the Next Generation High Speed EMU)

  • 본 연구는 차세대 분산형 고속전철 시제차량(HEMU-430X)의 후미진동저감에 관한것이다. VAMPIRE 해석을 통한 주행거동 관찰에서 HEMU-430X는 전두부 유선형 형상유지를 위하여 설치된 한방향 요댐퍼 때문에 후미차량에서 횡방향 진동이 예상되었으며, 430km/h에서 기준치를 초과하는 경우가 있었다. 이 후미진동을 감소시키기 위하여 차륜답면 형상변경, 횡댐퍼 댐핑계수조정, 요댐퍼 계수조정 등 다양한 방법을 시도하였으나 후미진동이 없어지지 않았다. 최종적으로 요댐퍼를 양방향으로 바꾸었을 때 횡방향 진동이 사라졌다. 실제 시운전에서는 150km/h로 주행하였을 때 횡방향 후미진동이 나타났으며, 요댐퍼를 양방향으로 바꾸어 300km/h 주행 시에도 후미진동이 나타나지 않았다. 추후 430km/h까지 최고속도시험을 수행할 예정인데 높은 속도에서 후미진동이 다시 발생한다면 본 연구에서 제시한 차륜답면 형상변화, 횡댐퍼 계수 조정 등의 방법을 이용해서 진동을 저감시킬 수 있을 것이다.

고속철도 궤도패드의 최소 수직 스프링계수 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Determination of the Minimum Vertical Spring Stiffness of Track Pads in Korea High Speed Railway.)

  • Railway noise and vibration has been recognized as major problems with the speed-up of rolling stock. As a kind of solution to these problems, the decrease of stiffness of track pad have been tried. However, in this case, overturning of rail due to lateral force should be considered because it can have effect on the safety of running train. Therefore, above two things - decrease of stiffness of track pad and overturning of rail due to lateral force - should be considered simultaneously for the appropriate determination of spring coefficient of track pad. With this viewpoint, minimum spring coefficient of track pad is estimated through the comparison between the theoretical relationship about the overturning of rail and 3-dimensional FE analysis result. Two kinds of Lateral force and wheel load are used as input loads. Extracted values from the conventional estimation formula and the Shinkansen design loads are used. It is found that the overturning of rail changes corresponding to the change of the stiffness of track pad and the ratio of lateral force to wheel load. Moreover, it is found that the analysis model can have influence on the results. Through these procedure, minimum spring coefficient of track pad is estimated.

The ROP mechanism study in hard formation drilling using local impact method

  • The low rate of penetration and short lifetime of drilling bit served as the most common problems encountered in hard formation drilling, thus leading to severe restriction of drilling efficiency in oil and gas reservoir. This study developed a new local impact drilling method to enhance hard formation drilling efficiency. The limitation length formulas of radial/lateral cracks under static indentation and dynamic impact are derived based on the experimental research of Marshall D.B considering the mud column pressure and confining pressure. The local impact rock breaking simulation model is conducted to investigate its ROP raising effect. The results demonstrate that the length of radial/lateral cracks will increase as the decrease of mud pressure and confining pressure, and the local impact can result in a damage zone round the impact crater which helps the rock cutting, thus leading to the ROP increase. The numerical results also demonstrate the advantages of local impact method for raising ROP and the vibration reduction of bit in hard formation drilling. This study has shown that the local impact method can help raising the ROP and vibration reduction of bit, and it may be applied in drilling engineering.

  • 지진이나 바람과 같은 횡방향 하중이 가해졌을 때, 일반적으로 수직한 축에 대해서만 대칭인 단명을 갖는 교량의 주형은 횡방향 휨과 비틀림이 결합된 거동을 하게되어 특히 사장교의 케이블등에는 예상치 못했던 추가응력이 유발될 수 있다. 이러한 거동은 일반적인 뼈대요소로는 해석할 수 없으므로, 본 연구에서는 가상일의 원리와 운동에너지로 부터 임의의 단면형상을 갖는 기하학적 비선형 3차원 뼈대요소의 강도매트릭스와 질량매트릭스를 유도하여 주형을 모델링하고, 케이블요소는 Ernst가 제안한 등가탄성계수를 사용한다. 그리고 해석예를 통하여 이론의 타당성을 검증한 후, 3차원 사장교 모델의 고유진동해석을 수행하여 주형의 휨-비틀림 결합작용을 연구한다.

Rotordynamic Instabilities Caused by the Fluid Force Moments on the Backshroud of a Francis Turbine Runner

  • Severe flexural vibration of the rotor shaft of a Francis turbine runner was experienced in the past. It was shown that the vibration was caused by the fluid forces and moments on the backshroud of the runner associated with the leakage flow through the back chamber. The aim of the present paper is to study the self-excited rotor vibration caused by the fluid force moments on the backshroud of a Francis turbine runner. The rotor vibration includes two fundamental motions, one is a whirling motion which only has a linear displacement and the other is a precession motion which only has an angular displacement. Accordingly, two types of fluid force moment are exerted on the rotor, the moment due to whirl and the moment due to precession. The main focus of the present paper is to clarify the contribution of each moment to the self-excited vibration of an overhung rotor. The runner was modeled by a disk and the whirl and the precession moments on the backshroud of the runner caused by the leakage flow were evaluated from the results of model tests conducted before. A lumped parameter model of a cantilevered rotor was used for the vibration analysis. By examining the frequency, the damping rate, the amplitude ratio of lateral and angular displacements for the cases with longer and shorter overhung rotor, it was found that the precession moment is more important for smaller overhung rotors and the whirl moment is more important for larger overhung rotors, although both types of moment due to the leakage flow can cause self-excited vibration of an overhung rotor.

비균질 지반에서 항타 관입한 단일 강성말뚝의 수평거동 연구 (Lateral Behavior of Single Rigid Driven Pile in Non-Homogeneous Sand)

  • 수평거동의 특성을 파악하기 위하여 일련의 연속된 모형실험을 수행하였다. 본 논문은 균질 및 비균질의 사질토 지반에서 항타 시공된 단일 강성말뚝의 수평거동에 대한 모형실험 결과들을 고찰하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 말뚝의 수평거동 특성에 대한 말뚝 시공상태(Driven & Embedded), 말뚝 근입길이에 대한 하부지반의 두께비(H/L), 그리고 지반반력 계수비의 영향에 관하여 실험 적인 연구를 수행하였다. 모형실험 결과들에 의하면, 수평거동은 비균질 지반에서 항타 에너지에 상당히 의존하고 있다. 즉, H/L=0.75의 경우 항타 에너지가 3배 증가에 의하여 매입말뚝에 대한 수평변위 감소율이 약 2.12배 정도 증가하였다. $E_{h1}/E_{h2}=5.56$인 비균질 지반에서 항타말뚝의 경우 수평변위의 감소에 대한 강성이 큰 상부층의 효과가 매입말뚝에 비하여 상당히 적게 작용하였다. 항타 진동으로 토립자의 재배열 현상으로 말뚝주변 지반 강성이 증가하고 이로 인하여 말뚝의 상대강성이 크게 증가하여 말뚝이 휨성말뚝과 비슷한 거동을 보였으며, 비균질 지반에서 항타 시공에 따른 최대 휨모멘트는 매입말뚝의 100 - 132%정도 크게 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 $y_D/y_E\; 와\; MBM_D/MBM_E$에 대한 수평하중과 H/L의 영향들을 모형실험 결과들로부터 실험식으로 제안하였다.

Energy equivalent model in analysis of postbuckling of imperfect carbon nanotubes resting on nonlinear elastic foundation

  • This paper investigates the static and dynamic behaviors of imperfect single walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) modeled as a beam structure by using energy-equivalent model (EEM), for the first time. Based on EEM Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio for zigzag (n, 0), and armchair (n, n) carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are presented as functions of orientation and force constants. Nonlinear Euler-Bernoulli assumptions are proposed considering mid-plane stretching to exhibit a large deformation and a small strain. To simulate the interaction of CNTs with the surrounding elastic medium, nonlinear elastic foundation with cubic nonlinearity and shearing layer are employed. The equation governed the motion of curved CNTs is a nonlinear integropartial-differential equation. It is derived in terms of only the lateral displacement. The nonlinear integro-differential equation that governs the buckling of CNT is numerically solved using the differential integral quadrature method (DIQM) and Newton's method. The linear vibration problem around the static configurations is discretized using DIQM and then is solved as a linear eigenvalue problem. Numerical results are depicted to illustrate the influence of chirality angle and imperfection amplitude on static response, buckling load and dynamic behaviors of armchair and zigzag CNTs. Both, clamped-clamped (C-C) and simply supported (SS-SS) boundary conditions are examined. This model is helpful especially in mechanical design of NEMS manufactured from CNTs.

유한요소법(有限要素法)에 의(依)한 축계(軸系)의 연성자유횡진동해석(聯成自由橫振動解析)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Coupld Free Lateral Vibration Analysis of Shafting by the Finite Element Method)

  • Coupled lateral vibrations of shafting is analyzed by the Finite Element Method. In the problem formulation axial force, elastic foundation effects and rotary inertia effects are taken into account. A computer program is developed to calculate natural frequencies of the shafting, and used to calculate natural frequencies of the experimental model shafting, which the author used for the paper[11]. The results show good agreement with the measured values. The results are also compared with those of the Transfer Matrix Method. From the comparison it is found that both results agree each other.

3차원 차량모델을 이용한 자동차 주행거동의 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 (Computer Simulations of 4-Wheeled Vehicle Manoeuvres Using a 3-Dimensional Double-Track Vehicle Model)

  • A 3-dimensional double track vehicle model, that has 12-degress-of-freedom, was proposed to analyze handling and riding behaviours of an automotive car. Nonlinear characteristics of the suspension and steering systems of the vehicle model were considered in its equations of motion, which were solved by using the 4th-order Runge-Kutta integration method. Computer simulations for lane change, steady-state handling, and running-over-bump manoeuvres were made and verified by vehicle tests on proving ground. The computed results of the proposed model showed better agreement with test results than those of the conventional 2-dimensional single track model did. Especially they showed good accuracy near the characteristic speed and in high lateral accelerated manoeuvres.

  • In general, a yawing motion concept is used for the lateral control of one wheel robot where the gimbal system is located horizontally. In this paper, another concept of the vertically located gimbal system is presented for the same purpose. Although the vertical concept undergoes an instability more easily than the horizontal one, the pitching motion of the gyroscopic effect is considered. Firstly, the trade-off relation between two balancing concepts are investigated by comparing the gyroscopic mechanism. Secondly, the dynamic model for the problem of the proposed concept is derived using the oscillatory inverted stick model. Thirdly, the stability of the model is analyzed using the phase trajectory method. Finally, the control performance of the system by a vibration controller is simulated.
