For a long time, the ocean was regarded as unknown area ruled by god, consequently, not so much things were developed in scientific methods and activities. Despite a rapid development of geographic information systems(GIS) marine and ocean fields still remained in the scope of traditional tools and intuitive experiences by the late of 1990. However, land based concepts and technology models require additional customization to apply GIS effectively in marine domains, which are resulted from her dynamic, complex and seamless massive nature. This paper gives a brief review of marine spatial data characteristics and also presents strategic approaches to meet the unique marine GIS requirements.

Livestock manure is an important source of nutrients for crop production. However, farmers typically do not know the exact nutrient values for livestock manure. In many instances, manure has been viewed as a waste, and as a result it is applied close to the source resulting in over application of nutrients. Thus, the goal of nutrient application has often been applied to reduce the application expense rather than to maximize crop income. This results in wasted money and potentially negative impacts on water quality. Several livestock manure management scenarios were created based on agronomic nutrient requirements using the Utilization of Animal Manure as a Plant Nutrient (AMANURE) software to investigate water quality impacts with the National Agricultural Pesticide Risk Analysis (NAPRA) WWW modeling system. Application of manure at agronomic rates can result in high nitrate-nitrogen losses for some soil types, especially when applied in late fall. The application of manure at an agronomic rate does not necessarily equate to adequate water quality protection, and farmers must take care applying manure at agronomic rates, because nitrate-nitrogen loss potential varies spatially and temporarily. Nutrient loss probability maps for Indiana at 5%, 10%, 25%, and 50% values were created to demonstrate potential water quality impacts when livestock manure is applied to cropland at agronomic rates. The NAPRA WWW system coupled with AMANURE can be used to identify site-specific livestock manure management plans that are environmentally sound and agronomically appropriate.

This research aimed to define the energy requirement of Dorper and Hu Hybrid $F_1$ ewes 20 to 50 kg of body weight, furthermore to study energy requirement changes with age and evaluate the effect of age on energy requirement parameters. In comparative slaughter trial, thirty animals were divided into three dry matter intake treatments (ad libitum, n = 18; low restricted, n = 6; high restricted, n = 6), and were all slaughtered as baseline, intermediate, and final slaughter groups, to calculate body chemical components and energy retained. In digestibility trial, twelve ewes were housed in individual metabolic cages and randomly assigned to three feeding treatments in accordance with the design of a comparative slaughter trial, to evaluate dietary energetic values at different feed intake levels. The combined data indicated that, with increasing age, the net energy requirement for maintenance ($NE_m$) decreased from $260.62{\pm}13.21$ to $250.61{\pm}11.79kJ/kg^{0.75}$ of shrunk body weight (SBW)/d, and metabolizable energy requirement for maintenance (MEm) decreased from $401.99{\pm}20.31$ to $371.23{\pm}17.47kJ/kg^{0.75}$ of SBW/d. Partial efficiency of ME utilization for maintenance ($k_m$, 0.65 vs 0.68) and growth ($k_g$, 0.42 vs 0.41) did not differ (p>0.05) due to age; At the similar condition of average daily gain, net energy requirements for growth ($NE_g$) and metabolizable energy requirements for growth ($ME_g$) for ewes during late fattening period were 23% and 25% greater than corresponding values of ewes during early fattening period. In conclusion, the effect of age upon energy requirement parameters in the present study were similar in tendency with previous recommendations, values of energy requirement for growth ($NE_g$ and $ME_g$) for Dorper and Hu crossbred female lambs ranged between the NRC (2007) recommendation for early and later maturating growing sheep.

A new information society of late has arrived by the rapid development of various information & communications technologies. Accordingly, mobile devices which are light and thin, easy and convenient to carry on the market. Also, the requirements for the larger television sets such as fast response speed, low-cost electric power, wider visual angle display are sufficiently satisfied. The currently most widely studied display material, the Organic Light-emitting Diodes(OLEDs) overwhelms the Liquid Crystal Display(LCD), the main occupier of the market. This new material features a response speed of more than a thousand times faster, no need of backlight, a low driving voltage, and no limit of view angle. And the OLEDs has high luminance efficiency and excellent durability and environment resistance, quite different from the inorganic LED light source. The OLEDs with simple device structure and easy produce can be manufactured in various shapes such as a point light source, a linear light source, a surface light source. This will surely dominate the market for the next generation lighting and display device. The new display utilizes not the glass substrate but the plastic one, resulting in the thin and flexible substrate that can be curved and flattened out as needed. In this paper, OLEDs device was produced by changing thickness of Teflon-AF of hole injection material layer. And as for the electrical properties, the four layer device of ITO/TPD/$Alq_3$/BCP/LiF/Al and the five layer device of ITO/Teflon AF/TPD/$Alq_3$/BCP/Lif/Al were studied experimentally.
This study is numerical analysis on the increasing temperature characteristics of vaporizer fin for liquefied natural gas with super low temperature. Existing LNG vaporizers use the direct contact heat transfer mode where the extreme super low temperature LNG of $-162^{\circ}C$ flows inside of the tubes and about $20^{\circ}C$air flows on outside of the fin. Recently, the vaporizers with great enhanced performance compared to conventional type have been developed to fulfill these requirements. The vaporizing characteristic of LNG vaporizer with air as heat source has a fixed iced. These characteristic cause a low efficiency in vaporizer, total plant cost and installing space can be increased. The vaporizing characteristics of LNG via heat exchanger with air are analytically studied for an air heating type vaporizer. This study is intended to supply the design data for the domestic fabrication of the thickness and angle vaporizer fin. Governing conservation equations for mass, momentum and energy are solved by STAR-CD based on an finite volume method and SIMPLE algorithm. Calculation parameter is fin thickness, setup angle and LNG temperature. If the vaporization performance of the early stage and late stage of operating is considered, the case of ${\phi}=90^{\circ}$ was very suitable. In this paper was estimated that the heat transfer was most promoted in case of THF=2mm.

No matter how low it might be, noise from home appliances in indoor environment cause displeasure for residents as it is produced nearby. Electronic goods including vacuum cleaner and washing machine generate high frequency noise, which interrupts TV-watching or conversations and cause noises between floors in apartment houses. In particular, refrigerators make constant noise late at night, hampering the study for exams and causing sleeplessness. Korea, despite the government's efforts to promote low-noise goods based on the noise test by corporation, there is a lack of standardization in the test method, test condition and measuring equipments. This is a major reason that lowers the reliability of low-noise products. At present, low-noise home appliances are certified with eco labeling in the nation but, only 7 brands of refrigerators, 4 brands of washing machines and 97 brands of air-conditioners obtained certification as of august, 2011. In addition, none of Kimchi-refrigerator and vacuum cleaner brands were approved as low-noise home appliances. This shows Korea's relatively underdeveloped market for low-noise products, which, in part, is because of the difficulties companies face in being certified with eco labeling as they should satisfy various requirements such as power-saving and eco-friendly design besides low-noise features. As a result, low-noise labeling for home appliances should be established for the revised noise and vibration management law and the study was carried out to establish low-noise labeling system for major noise sources including vacuum cleaner, washing machine, air-conditioner and refrigerator.

Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is one of the most promising next generation nanoelectronic devices which will inherit the throne of CMOS which is the domineering implementation technology for large scale low power digital systems. In late 1990s, the basic operations of the QCA cell were already demonstrated on a hardware implementation. Also, design tools and simulators were developed. Nevertheless, its design technology is not quite ready for ultra large scale designs. This paper proposes a new approach which enables the QCA designs to inherit the verification methodologies and tools of CMOS designs, as well. First, a set of disciplinary rules strictly restrict the cell arrangement not to deviate from the predefined structures but to guarantee the deterministic digital behaviors is proposed. After the gate and interconnect structures of. the QCA design are identified, the signal integrity requirements including the input path balancing of majority gates, and the prevention of the noise amplification are checked. And then the digital logic is extracted and stored in the OpenAccess common engineering database which provides a connection to a large pool of CMOS design verification tools. Towards validating the proposed approach, we designed a 2-bit adder, a bit-serial adder, and an ALU bit-slice. For each design, the digital logic is extracted, translated into the Verilog net list, and then simulated using a commercial software.

The early development and use of plate heat exchangers (PHE) were in response to stringent statutory requirements from dairy products in the late 19th century, but PHEs were not exploited commercially until the 1920s. Since then, although the basic concept of PHEs has changed little, its design and construction have progressed significantly to accommodate higher temperatures and pressures, as well as large heat exchanging capacities. The development of current chevron-type corrugated heat plates has been ongoing since the oil shock in the 1970s to improve energy efficiency. The development trend of PHEs is consistent with the development of larger heat plates with better thermal efficiency, lower pressure drop, and good flow distribution. In this study, the thermal performance of small heat plates (PHE-S) and large heat plates (PHE-L) with the same plate depth and corrugation pitch were analyzed experimentally for each channel (H, M, and L type) to suggest development directions of heat plates. The test results showed that for the convectional heat transfer coefficient, the PHE-S was on average, 16.5% higher in the H type, 25% higher in the M type, and 40% higher in the L type than PHE-L. In the case of the pressure drop, the PHE-S was 19% higher in the H type, 46% higher in the M type, and 61% higher in the L type than PHE-L. These results were attributed to the differences in fluid distribution areas between the PHE-S and PHE-L, among other potential causes.

Water has always played a significant role in the lives of people. In urbanised Rome, with its million people. sophisticated supply systems developed and then fled with the empire. only to be rediscovered later But it was the industrial Revolution commencing in the eighteenth century that ushered in major paradigm shifts In use and altitudes towards water. Rapid and concentrated urbanisation brought problems of expanded demands for drinking supplies, waste management and disease. The strategy of using water from local streams, springs and village wells collapsed under the onslaughts of rising urban demands and pollution due to poor waste disposal practices. Expanding travel (railways. and steamships) aided the spread of disease. In England. public health crises peaks, related to water-borne typhoid and the three major cholera outbreaks occurred in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century respectively. Technological, engineering and institutional responses were successful in solving the public health problem. it is generally accepted that the putting of water into pipe networks both for a clean drinking supply, as well as using it as a transport medium for removal of human and other wastes, played a significant role in towering death rates due to waterborne diseases such as cholera and typhoid towards the end of the nineteenth century. Today, similar principles apply. A recent World Bank report Indicates that there can be upto 76% reduction in illness when major water and sanitation improvements occur in developing countries. Water management, technology and thinking in Australia were relatively stable in the twentieth century up to the mid to late 1970s. Groundwater sources were investigated and developed for towns and agriculture. Dams were built, and pipe networks extended both for supply and waste water management. The management paradigms in Australia were essentially extensions of European strategies with the minor adaptions due to climate and hydrogeology. During the 1970s and 1980s in Australia, it was realised increasingly that a knowledge of groundwater and hydrogeological processes were critical to pollution prevention, the development of sound waste management and the problems of salinity. Many millions of dollars have been both saved and generated as a consequence. This is especially in relation to domestic waste management and the disposal of aluminium refinery waste in New South Wales. Major institutional changes in public sector water management are occurring in Australia. Upheveals and change have now reached ail states in Australia with various approaches being followed. Market thinking, corporatisation, privatisation, internationalisation, downsizing and environmental pressures are all playing their role in this paradigm shift. One casualty of this turmoil is the progressive erosion of the public sector skillbase and this may become a serious issue should a public health crisis occur such as a water borne disease. Such crises have arisen over recent times. A complete rethink of the urban water cycle is going on right now in Australia both at the State and Federal level. We are on the threshold of significant change in how we use and manage water, both as a supply and a waste transporter in Urban environments especially. Substantial replacement of the pipe system will be needed in 25 to 30 years time and this will cost billions of dollars. The competition for water between imgation needs and environmental requirements in Australia and overseas will continue to be an issue in rural areas. This will be especially heightened by the rising demand for irrigation produced food as the world's population grows. Rapid urbanisation and industrialisation in the emerging S.E Asian countries are currently producing considerable demands for water management skills and Infrastructure development. This trend e expected to grow. There are also severe water shortages in the Middle East to such an extent that wars may be fought over water issues. Environmental public health crises and shortages will help drive the trends.
