스펙클 포토그라피와 화상처리(畵像處理)에 의(依)한 면내변위(面內變位) 계측(計測) (Measurement of In- plane Displacement by Speckle Photography and Image Processing)

  • Speckle photography is a very useful method for measuring in-plane surface displacement. In its basic form, the object to be studied is illuminated with a divergent laser beam, and a double exposure photograph of the object is recorded, on a fine-grain film or plate, before and after the object is deformed, The magnitude and the direction of the displacement can then be obtained by measuring the spacing and the direction of the Young's fringe, which is produced by probing the developed negative with an unexpaned laser beam, and consists of a pattern of parallel equi-spaced dark bands. In this paper, a hybrid optical and electronic image processing is described-Young's fringe on the viewing screen is observed by a TV-camera and the 2-D video signal is converted from analog to digital and transfered to the computer where the spacing and direction of the fringes are calculated. Several examples of application show that the displacement magnitude and direction can be determined with an accuracy of $0.1{\mu}m\;and\;0.1^{\circ}$ respectively.

Final Diffraction Patterns of the Beam Splitters used in the Soft XRay Interferometer by a He-Ne Laser

  • The soft x-ray(10nm-100nm) interferometer is a modified Mach-Zehnder type interferometer and it consists of two beam-splitters and four totally reflecting mirrors. The beam-splitters used here are 50% transmission and 50% reflection grating type. The diffraction patterns of beam splitters(1st B.S.) were investigated with a He-Ne laser. The diffraction patterns produced by the soft x-ray interferometer (2nd B.S.) were also investigated in intensities positions. The diffraction patterns of 20 degree grazing incidence on the beam splitters(1st B.S.) show a circular array of spots. Both the reflected and the transmitted beams show the same patterns but symmetric circles on the screen. The maximum intensity appears roughly when n is in the zeroth and odd orders and the suppressed peak(missing order) appears when n is in even orders. Intensities of 3 center fringes(n = 0, $\pm$1) are stronger than others. These results confirm the reduced grating equation and make agree with the intensity distribution function. It was found that the final patterns produced by the soft x-ray interferometer (2nd B.S.) consisted of fine fringes which were caused by two of three diffraction beams that were arrived at the second beam-splitter.

  • Halftonig is a technique to create the appearance of intermideate tone levels by controlling the spatial distribution of the binary pixel values. Recently, many printing devices such as image setter, inkjet printer, laser printer and facsimile, generate image, they require the technique. Ordered dither is achieved comparing the gray scale image to periodic array. This method is fast, but it occurs periodic patterns. Conentional error diffusion generates a good image. But processing speed is very slow and appeares worm artifacts in middle tone scale. To improve it, Bns(Blue noise Screen) is developed based on Gaussian distribution. In this paper, we discribe methods to design BNS based human visual characteristics and to improve blue appearing at edge area of image by USM(using unsharp mask).

점도변화에 따른 탄화수소계 연료의 분무특성에 관한 연구 (A study on the spray characteristics of hydrocarbon-fuels with viscosity variations)

  • An experimental study was carried out to understand the spray characteristics of three kinds(kerosene, heating oil & diesel) of hydrocarbon-fuels. Fuel temperature and injection pressure were main variables in the experiment. Fuel Temperature was changed to obtain various levels of fuel viscosity. Spray angle and spray length were measured by using LVS(Laser Vapor Screen) photographs. 1D PDPA system was used to measure droplet size & droplet velocity. In room temperature, spray characteristics of three kinds of fuels were good, especially in case the fuel injection pressure was more than $6Kgf/cm^2$ It was also found that spray characteristics were poor in case fuel kinematic viscosity was more than 5cSt.

한글 외곽선 글자체 생성 가속기의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Hangul Outline Font Generation Accelerator)

  • In this pape, we designed and implemented a hardware accelerator for the generation of bit map font from Hangul outline font description for LBP (Laser Beam Printer) and screen applications Whole system was implemented as a double size PC/AT application board which consists of processing bolck and display block. The processing block has a master processor (MC68000)and two slave processors which are MC56001 and KAFOG chip responsible for the short vector generation. In the display block, TMS34061 was used for monitor display and GP425 was used for LBP print out. The resolution of the monitor is 640$\times$480 and that of LBP is 2385$\times$3390. The current system called KHGB90-B generates about 100 characters per second where each character consists of 32$\times$32 bits

  • The deflection yoke (DY) controls the direction of the electron beam that falls on the screen of the television monitor. Its quality depends on the shape and density of coils wound around the DY coil separator. Winding frames are used to make these coils, and therefore, their shapes are essential in making quality coils. A reverse engineering(RE) is applied to create the 3D model of the winding frame. It considerably shortens the design verification time and shows the level of accuracy that is feasible in the production mode. The paper explains each step of the reverse engineering process in detail.

Screening Molecular Chaperones Similar to Small Heat Shock Proteins in Schizosaccharomyces pombe

  • To screen molecular chaperones similar to small heat shock proteins (sHsps), but without ${\alpha}$-crystalline domain, heat-stable proteins from Schizosaccharomyces pombe were analyzed by 2-dimensional electrophoresis and matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Sixteen proteins were identified, and four recombinant proteins, including cofilin, NTF2, pyridoxin biosynthesis protein (Snz1) and Wos2 that has an ${\alpha}$-crystalline domain, were purified. Among these proteins, only Snz1 showed the anti-aggregation activity against thermal denaturation of citrate synthase. However, pre-heating of NTF2 and Wos2 at $70^{\circ}C$ for 30 min, efficiently prevented thermal aggregation of citrate synthase. These results indicate that Snz1 and NTF2 possess molecular chaperone activity similar to sHsps, even though there is no ${\alpha}$-crystalline domain in their sequences.

PMN-PZT 세라믹 액츄에이터의 열화 및 파괴 거동 (Aging and destruction of PMN-PZT Multilayer Ceramic Actuators)

  • PMN-PZT 적충형 세라믹 액츄에이터 소자를 제작한후 그 열화 특성을 조사하였다. 액츄에이터는 tape casting 방법으로 green sheet를 제작한후, screen printing방법을 이용하여 전극형상을 만들고, lamination과 cutting공정을 통하여 소자를 제작하였다. 작된 소자의 구조적인 특성을 분석하기 위하여 X-ray diffractometer를 사용하였으며, Doppler effect를 사용하는 laser vibrometer를 이용하여 전압에 따른 변위량을 측정하였다. 제작된 소자의 열화 특성을 알아보기 위하여 60 Hz의 triangular 교류 파형을 적충형 세라믹 액츄에이터에 인가하여 열화전과 후의 P-E hysteresis loop의 변화를 살펴보았으며, unipolar AC 전압을 지속적으로 인가하여 소자를 depling 시킴으로써 열화현상을 관찰하였다. 파단면에 대한 SEM 분석을 통하여 소자의 파괴 메카니즘을 알아 보도록 하였다. 이로부터 전기적, 기계적 열화가 소자의 동작에 미치는 영향에 대해서 알아 보았다.

레이저광의 최대.최소 편향법을 이용한 액체의 굴절률 측정 (Measurement of Refractive Index of Liquids by the Maximum and Minimum Deviated Laser Beam)

  • 프리즘 분광기는 굴절률 측정을 위한 표준 장치로, 대학교 실험실에서 사용되는 전형적인 실험 기구이지만, 정렬할 때 많은 주의가 요구되고 장치의 견고함에 비해 측정된 굴절률의 정확도는 떨어진다. 이러한 단점을 보완한 최대 최소 편향법은 회전 플랫폼과 길이 측정용 테이프로 저렴하게 장치가 구성되고 넓은 스크린을 활용하여 비교적 정확하게 굴절률을 측정할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 한변이 26 mm인 속이 빈 등변 프리즘을 제작하여 글리세린($C_3H_5(OH)_2$), 사염화탄소($CCl_4$), 아닐린($C_6H_4NH_2$), 이황화탄소($CS_2$), 크실렌($C_6H_4(CH_3)_2$) 등의 액체를 채워, He-Ne 레이저의 파장 632.8 nm와 $YVO_4$ 레이저의 파장 532 nm에 대해 프리즘 분광기와 최대 최소법으로 이들 액체의 굴절률을 측정하였다. 측정결과 최대 최소법으로 얻어진 데이터가 프리즘분광기에 의해 얻어진 데이터보다 더 정확하고 정밀함을 확인하였다.

지지격자가 봉다발 난류유동에 미치는 영향 (Spacer Grid Effects on Turbulent Flow in Rod Bundles)

  • 지지격자를 갖는 5$\times$5 핵연료 봉다발부수로내에서 국부 수력특성인자들을 레이저 유속측정장치인 LDV(Laser Doppler Velocimeter)를 이용하여 측정하였다. 이 연구는 지지격자가 봉다발 난류유동구조에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구에 관점을 두었다. 축방향속도, 난류강도, 편이도, 편평도 등의 측정인자들을 측정하였다. 압력강하를 측정하여 지지격자의 손실계수와 봉다발의 마찰계수를 구하였다 실험결과로부터 활발한 난류혼합거리는 지지격자로부터 x/D$_{h}$=10까지이고, 강제 혼합거리는 지지격자로부터 x/D$_{h}$=20까지임이 관찰되었다. 지지격자하류에서의 축방향 난류강도 감쇄거동은 mesh격자나 screen을 통과하는 난류유동과 같은 경향을 보여주었다. 측정된 자료로부터 부수로해석 code에 입력함수로 적용할 수 있는 국부 난류혼합계수상관식을 구하였다. 국부 혼합계수분포 경향을 관찰하여보면 지지격자 근처에서 최대값을 보이고, 하류방향으로 진행하면서 안정된 값을 갖는다.
