large-scale interactive display system using gesture recognition module (제스처 인식 모듈을 이용한 대규모 멀티 인터랙티브 디스플레이 시스템)

  • 본 논문에서는 스크린을 터치를 하지 않고 또한 스크린의 영역의 크기에 상관없이 제스처를 이용하여 인터랙션이 가능한 제스쳐 인식 모듈을 이용한 대규모 멀티 인터랙티브 디스플레이 시스템을 제안한다. IR laser를 이용하여 인터랙션 영역을 생성하고 band pass filter를 장착한 적외선 카메라를 이용하여 인터랙션 영역 안의 영상을 획득한다. 획득되어진 영상은 제안하는 영상처리모듈을 이용하여 이진화->블랍-라벨링 과정을 거쳐 잡음을 제거한 후 인터랙션 영역 안에서 이루어지는 인터랙션 좌표를 획득한 후 Packet으로 저장한다. 저장 된 Packet은 네트워크 통신 시스템을 이용하여 Server로 보내어지고 Server에서는 메타포분석모듈을 이용하여 분석하여 결과를 메타포이벤트로 저장한 후 콘텐츠에 보낸다. 콘텐츠에서는 받은 메타포이벤트에 따라서 콘텐츠 결과를 보여 줌으로써 스크린을 터치 하지 않아도 터치 인터랙션이 가능하며 스크린 영역에 제한 없이 많은 사용자가 동시에 사용이 가능한 시스템 사용이 가능하도록 한다. 본 시스템은 향후 보다 다양한 인터랙션과 시스템 크기의 확장으로 보다 많은 사용자가 동시에 사용가능하며 다양한 인터랙션을 사용할 수 있는 인식 디바이스로써 활용이 가능하다.

  • 외계행성 대기 연구를 위한 투과스펙트럼 관측에 적합한 측분광기를 개발하고 있다. 이 측분광기의 광학적 특성은 380~685nm의 파장범위, FOV 10', R>~400이며, 슬릿부, collimator, VPH grism, imaging lens와 CCD로 구성되어 있는데, 보현산천문대 1.8m 망원경의 CIM(Cassegrain Interface Module)에 카트리지 방식으로 장착되어 사용한다. 그 중 doublet 렌즈 2개를 대칭으로 배치하여 초점거리 280mm가 되도록 만든 collimator는 슬릿을 통과한 f/8 입사광에서 지름 35 mm의 pupil을 만드는데, 이곳에 VPH grism을 설치하였다. collimator 렌즈는 axial spring과 radial spring으로 알루미늄 barrel에 고정하였다. 이 collimator barrel은 CIM에 쉽게 장탈착 할 수 있도록 모듈화 하였다. Collimator Barrel에 대한 구조 해석 결과, 망원경 이동에 따른 중력에 의한 변형은 충분히 작았다. Grism은 슬라이딩 형태로 장착되어 영상 확인도 가능하도록 설계하였다.

A Study on IoT and Cloud-based Real-time Bridge Height Measurement Service (사물인터넷과 클라우드 기반의 실시간 교량 높이 계측 서비스 연구)

  • Currently, the height of ships that can pass under Busan Harbor Bridge is limited to 60m or shorter, so that large-sized ships of 60m or taller cannot use Busan Harbor international passenger terminal. Accordingly, this study has developed a service which measures continuously the change of bridge height by water level changes and provides such in real-time for safe bridge passage of large-sized ships of 60m or taller. The measurement system comprised of high-precision laser distance measurement device, GPS sensor, optical module, and damping structure is used to measure the bridge height change according to tide level changes, and the measured information is provided in real-time through cloud-based mobile app. Also, in order to secure objective bridge height data for changes to height limits and navigation supports, the observation data was analyzed and forecast model was drawn. As a result, it became an objective evidence to revise the passage height rules of the Busan Port Bridge from 60 meters to 63 meters.

  • Throughout all industries, eco-friendliness is being promoted worldwide with focus on suppressing the environmental impact. With recent international environment policies and regulations supported by government, the electric vehicles demand is expected to increase rapidly. Battery system itself perform an essential role in EVs technology that is arranged in cells, modules, and packs, and each of them are connected mechanically and electrically. A multifaceted approach is necessary for battery pack bonding technologies. In this paper, pros and cons of applicable bonding technologies, such as resistance welding, laser and ultrasonic bonding used in constructing electric vehicle battery packs were compared. Each bonding technique has different advantages and limitations. Therefore, several criteria must be considered when determining which bonding technology is suitable for a battery cell. In particular, the shape and production scale of battery cells are seen as important factors in selecting a bonding method. While dealing with the types and components of battery cells, package bonding technologies and general issues, we will review suitable bonding technologies and suggest future directions.

Fabrication and characterization of 1.55$\mu$m SI-PBH DFB-LD for 10 Gbps optical fiber communications (10 Gb/s 급 광통신용 1.55$\mu$m SI-PBH DFB-LD의 제작 및 특성연구)

  • We fabricated the high speed 1.55${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ distributed feedback laser diodes (DFB-LD) using both two-step mesa etching process and semi-insulating InP current blocking layers. The devices characteristics were threshold current of ~15mA, slope efficiency of ~0.13mW/mA, and dynamic resistance of ~6.0Ω, with as-cleaved facets. The fabricated DFB-LD showed the single longitudinal mode with more than 40dB up to 6 $I_{th}$(CW condition), emitting at the wavelength of 0.546${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. The -3dB bandwidth was >10㎓ at the driving current of 27mA, and the maximum -3dB bandwidth was ~18㎓ at 90 mA current, showing the superior frequency response of SI-PBH DFB-LD. In the 10Gb/s transmission experiment for 1.55${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ DFB-LD module, maximum 10 km of single mode fiber(SMF) or 80 km of dispersion shifted fiber (DSF) could be transmitted with error free.

  • A ceramic stem based TO package incorporating a coplanar waveguide feed-line has been proposed allowing for 10 Gbps grade data transmission. The frequency response of a cylindrical feed-line fer a conventional metal based TO package was first analyzed, and compared with that of the CPW feed-line used for a ceramic based package such as a butterfly package. For the case where a DFB LD chip is packaged to an LD module, the measured 3 dB frequency bandwidths for the conventional and proposed packages were 3.5 GHz and 7.8 GHz respectively, which agree well with the theoretical results obtained from the modeling based on the small signal equivalent circuits. Consequently, we proposed a novel ceramic based TO package with a CPW feed-line in ceramic material as a stem to improve the frequency characteristics of the conventional one. And, its performance was theoretically observed to confirm that the proposed package provides even wider frequency bandwidth compared to the conventional one.

  • An OHT(Over Head Transportation) vehicle is an example of the industrial monorail vehicle, and it is used in the automobile, semiconductor, LCD manufacturing industries. OHT vehicle is moved by main wheels and guide rollers. The major function of the main wheel is to support and drive the OHT vehicle. The roles of the guide roller is the inhibition of derailment and steering of the OHT vehicle. Since the required vehicle velocity becomes faster and the required load capacity is increased, the durability characteristics of the wheel and roller, which was made of urethane, need to be increased. So it is necessary to estimate the fatigue life cycle of the wheel and roller. In this study, OHT dynamic model was developed by using the multi body dynamic analysis program ADAMS. Wheel and roller are modeled by the 3-D surface contact module. Especially, motor cycle tire mechanics is used in the wheel contact model. The OHT dynamic model can analyze the dynamic characteristic of the OHT vehicle with various driving conditions. And the result was verified by a vehicle traveling test. As a result of this study, the developed model is expected to predict wheel dynamic load time history and makes a contribution to design of a new monorail vehicle.

  • In this paper, the design and layout of a 2.5 Gbps arrayed VCSEL driver for optical transceiver having arrayed multi-channel of integrating module is confirmed. In this paper, a 4 channel 2.5 Gbps VCSEL (vertical cavity surface emitting laser) driver array with automatic optical power control is implemented using $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process technology that drives a $1550{\mu}m$ high speed VCSEL used in optical transceiver. To enhance the bandwidth of the optical transmitter, active feedback amplifier with negative capacitance compensation is exploited. We report a distinct improvement in bandwidth, voltage gain and operation stability at 2.5Gbps data rate in comparison with existing topology. The 4-CH chip consumes only 140 mW of DC power at a single 1.8V supply under the maximum modulation and bias currents, and occupies the die area of $850{\mu}m{\times}1,690{\mu}m$ excluding bonding pads.

MTF and wavefront error testing of large aperture optical system using unequal path interferometer (경로길이 불일치 간섭계를 이용한 대구경 광학계의 MTF 측정과 파면오차 검사)

  • A method for measuring the wavefront error and the modulation transfer function(MTF) of large aperture optics using an unequal path interferometer is presented. A bidirectional shearing interferometer is used for collimation testing of the measurement system. A large aperture Fizeau interferometer with long optical path difference measures the wavefront error of the optics under test by using a $\Phi$ 400 mm off-axis parabolic mirror. The MTF is also measured at the wavelength of the interferometer by changing the laser light into partially incoherent light. Test results of a $\Phi$ 300 mm Cassegrain type satellite telescope made in Korea are presented.

  • A single pixel photon counting type image sensor which is applicable for medical diagnosis with digitally obtained image and industrial purpose has tern designed with $0.18{\mu}m$ triple-well CMOS process. The designed single pixel for readout chip is able to be operated by single supply voltage to simplify digital X-ray image sensor module and a preamplifier which is consist of folded cascode CMOS operational amplifier has been designed to enlarge signal voltage(${\Delta}Vs$), the output voltage of preamplifier. And an externally tunable threshold voltage generator circuit which generates threshold voltage in the readout chip has been newly proposed against the conventional external threshold voltage supply. In addition, A dark current compensation circuit for reducing dark current noise from photo diode is proposed and 15bit LFSR(Linear Feedback Shift Resister) Counter which is able to have high counting frequency and small layout area is designed.
