대퇴골두 무혈성 괴사의 한의학적 치료에 대한 국내·외 연구동향 분석 (Analysis of Domestic and Foreign Research Trends on the Korean Medical Treatment of Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head)

  • Objectives This paper is an analysis of domestic and foreign trends for the Korean medical treatment of avascular necrosis of the femoral head. Methods Domestic and foreign databases were searched and analyzed for Korean medical treatment interventions, research types, and treatment effects for avascular necrosis of the femoral head. Results There were 10 case reports in Korea, 2 case reports and 3 randomized controlled studies abroad. A total of 12 treatment interventions were used, and the types include acupuncture, herbal medicine, phamacopunture, electroacupuncture, cupping, physical therapy, chuna, acupotomy, moxibustion, warm acupuncture, laser acupuncture, and motion style treatment. As for the evaluation index, visual analogue scale, range of motion and harris hip score were the most common with 7 cases each. Conclusions Through this study, it was possible to understand the trends of domestic and foreign research on the treatment of avascular necrosis of the femoral head with Korean medicine. However, due to the small number of literature and no randomized control studies in Korea, treatment evidence is insufficient. It is considered that further research is needed in the future.

  • A control system for crop cutting in Hot strip Mill is developed. The development system is composed of three sub-systems. one is crop shape system which captures the shapes of the strip's head and tail using the area CCD camera. Another is Laser Speed System which measures the speed and length of strip. and, the other is control system which controls the optimal cutting length and crop shear motor. As a result, with a developed system we can reduce crop loss considerably.

Microscopic Interdiffusion in Multilayer Structure

  • Recently, artificially modulated magnetic multilayer materials, for examples giant magnetoresistant magnetic head materials and magneto-optic recording materials in the wavelength of a blue laser beam, attract great attention in the electronics industry due to their unique properties derived from the modulated multilayer structure. Since the multilayer structure as well as amorphous structure, is non-equilibrium state in terms of free energy, an assessment of the thermal staibility in the multilayer structure is crucially importnat both for basic research and applications. In this review paper, effective microscopic interdiffusion process in the two dimensional multilayer structure will be described in terms of steep concentration gradient effect, strain effect and magnetic transition effect.

Proposed Mechanisms of Photobiomodulation (PBM) Mediated via the Stimulation of Mitochondrial Activity in Peripheral Nerve Injuries

  • Evidence shows that nerve injury triggers mitochondrial dysfunction during axonal degeneration. Mitochondria play a pivotal role in axonal regeneration. Therefore, normalizing mitochondrial energy metabolism may represent an elective therapeutic strategy contributing to nerve recovery after damage. Photobiomodulation (PBM) induces a photobiological effect by stimulating mitochondrial activity. An increasing body of evidence demonstrates that PBM improves ATP generation and modulates many of the secondary mediators [reactive oxygen species (ROS), nitric oxide (NO), cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), and calcium ions (Ca2+)], which in turn activate multiple pathways involved in axonal regeneration.

  • This paper deals with human spatial cognition using visual and auditory stimulation. More specially, this investigation is to observe the relationship between the head and the eye motor system for the localization of visual target direction in space and to try to describe what is the role of right-side versus left-side pinna. In the experiment of visual stimulation, nineteen red LEDs (Luminescent Diodes, Brightness: $210\;cd/^2$) arrayed in the horizontal plane of the surrounding panel are used. Here the LEDs are located 10 degrees apart from each other. Physiological parameters such as EOG (Electro-Oculography), head movement, and their synergic control are measured by BIOPAC system and 3SPACE FASTRAK. In the experiment of auditory stimulation, one side of the pinna function was distorted intentionally by inserting a short tube in the ear canal. The localization error caused by right and left side pinna distortion was investigated as well. Since a laser pointer showed much less error (0.5%) in localizing target position than FASTRAK (30%) that has been generally used, a laser pointer was used for the pointing task. It was found that harmonic components were not essential for auditory target localization. However, non-harmonic nearby frequency components was found to be more important in localizing the target direction of sound. We have found that the right pinna carries out one of the most important functions in localizing target direction and pure tone with only one frequency component is confusing to be localized. It was also found that the latency time is shorter in self moved tracking (SMT) than eye alone tracking (EAT) and eye hand tracking (EHT). These results can be used in further study on the characterization of human spatial cognition.

레이저 유속계를 이용한 2차원날개 단면 주위의 난류경계층 연구 (A Study on Turbulent Boundary Layer around a Two-Dimensional Hydrofoil using LDV System)

  • 2차원 날개 단면 주위의 유동을 레이저 유속계측장치(LDV)를 이용하여 계측하였다. 레이저 유속계측장치는 주위 유동에 영향을 주지 않으면서 물체 주위의 유속을 정밀하게 계측할 수 있는 장비로서 본 논문에서는 2W Ar-Ion 레이져 광선을 이용한 2색 3선형 레이저 시스템을 사용하여 2방향 속도를 동시에 계측하였다. 레이저유속 계측장치를 사용하여 NACA0012 단면 주위의 유동을 계측한 후 난류경계층, 박리현상(Separation) 및 날개 뒷날에서의 유동 현상등에 대한 해석을 수행하였다. 계측된 유동장의 해석 결과를 Head의 운동량 적분법에 의한 계산결과와 비교하였다. 입사각이 작고 레이놀드수가 비교적 큰 경우에는 계측결과에 의한 경계층 특성과 운동량 적분법에 의한 계산결과가 잘 일치함을 보였다. 2차원 날개단면 주위 유동을 정밀 계측하여 수치계산 방법에 의한 결과와의 비교를 위한 유동계측 자료를 확보하였으며 캐비테이션 특징 및 양력특성이 우수한 새로운 날개단면 개발에 응용될 수 있는 2차원 단면시험법을 개발하였다.

스프링클러 헤드의 방수상수에 따른 물방울 크기에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Droplet Size according to Discharge Coefficient of Sprinkler Head)

  • The sprinkler system is a basic fire extinguishing system that uses water as an extinguishing agent. In order to evaluate the fire extinguishing performance of the sprinkler system, information such as the discharge angle, discharge speed, discharge pressure, flow rate, and water droplet size of the installed head are required. However, there is a lack of research on droplets size compared to other requirements. In this study, to evaluate the extinguishing characteristics of sprinkler system, the droplet size distribution was measured for various types of sprinkler heads actually used. The size of the droplet was measured using laser diffraction method. The 50% cumulative volume distribution ($D_{v50}$) according to discharge coefficient(K factor) was $540{\mu}m{\sim}695{\mu}m$ for K50, $542{\mu}m{\sim}1,192{\mu}m$ for K80, $980{\mu}m{\sim}1,223{\mu}m$ for K115 and $1,188{\mu}m{\sim}1,234{\mu}m$ for K202. Based on the measured results, the vaeiance of the droplet particle distribution and the distribution ($D_{v50}$) according to discharge coefficient(K factor) was $540{\mu}m{\sim}695{\mu}m$ for K50, $542{\mu}m{\sim}1,192{\mu}m$ for K80, $980{\mu}m{\sim}1,223{\mu}m$ for K115 and $1,188{\mu}m{\sim}1,234{\mu}m$ for K202. Based on the measured results, the vaeiance of the droplet particle distribution and the Rosin-Rammler index value are presented. As a result of the fire simulation with FDS, it was confirmed that the performance difference occurs according to the water droplet size distribution even when the same amount of water is used. Therefore, the extinguishing performance of the sprinkler system should be evaluated considering the droplet size distribution according to the sprinkler head type.

접촉성 육아종으로 오인된 후두 이물 육아종 1예 (A Case of Foreign Body Laryngeal Granuloma Mimicking Contact Granuloma)

  • Among lesions in the larynx, laryngeal contact granuloma due to persistent tissue irritation can typically be attributed to endotracheal intubation, vocal abuse, or gastro-esophageal reflux disease. Treatment typically includes voice therapy, lifestyle changes and use of anti-reflux medication. Microsurgical removal is only indicated in cases of severe dyspnea due to mass size. Foreign body granuloma is a response of to any foreign material in the tissue. Foreign body granulomas are sometimes misdiagnosed as soft tissue tumors when the causative foreign body is not initially found. Delayed treatment of these foreign bodies may cause complications. We present a case of larynx granuloma due to impacted foreign body, probably fish bone, in the larynx that mimicked contact granuloma. We initially used anti-reflux medication, but to no avail. The laryngeal mass, observed through laryngoscopy, showed no improvement and therefore necessitated a proper pathologic diagnosis. We were able to successfully treat it via trans-oral laser CO2 microsurgery before any complications developed.

스탠드간 장력프로파일을 이용한 열연판 평탄도 제어시스템 (Flatness Control System of the Hot Strip by Using Tension Profile between Stands)

  • To have high flatness quality of hot rolled strip in the hot strip finishing mill train, a new inter-stand tension profile measuring device of segmented looper roll type(coined as Flatness Sensing Inter-stand Looper, FlatSIL) and a new flatness control system have been developed in this study. The device measures the strip tension profile across the strip width and informs the strip wave pattern to new flatness control system where work roll bending mode to relieve the strip wave is determined. The existing automatic shape control system which uses laser type shape-meter installed at the outlet of the last finishing mill stand strip tension between down coiler and last finishig mill since the latent wave concealed by the strip tension between down coiler and last finishing mill stand cannot be measured by the laser distance-meter. Thus the existing shape control system is not able to control the flatness through the full strip length. The new flatness control system, however, works for full strip length during strip rolling as far as the tension profile measuring device and work roll bender are on. With the new flatness control system, work roll bender is automatically controller to minimize the latent wave of the running strip and the flatness quality as well as strip travelling stability has been noticeably improved from strip head through body to tail.

용접 형상 측정용 시각 센서 모듈 개발 (Development of Vision Sensor Module for the Measurement of Welding Profile)

  • The essential tasks to operate the welding robot are the acquisition of the position and/or shape of the parent metal. For the seam tracking or the robot automation, many kinds of contact and non-contact sensors are used. Recently, the vision sensor is most popular. In this paper, the development of the system which measures the profile of the welding part is described. The total system will be assembled into a compact module which can be attached to the head of welding robot system. This system uses the line-type structured laser diode and the vision sensor It implemented Direct Linear Transformation (DLT) for the camera calibration as well as radial distortion correction. The three dimensional shape of the parent metal is obtained after simple linear transformation and therefore, the system operates in real time. Some experiments are carried out to evaluate the performance of the developed system.
