The purpose of this article is to examine types and construction method of multimedia materials for the Korean language education, finally in order to construct digital library on Nuri-Sejonghakdang. Firstly, this article reviews some major concepts such as teaching material, multimedia, learning object, meta-data, reusability, etc. Secondly, various multimedia materials are divided into three types(namely, example material, explanation material, training and evaluating material) according to their characteristics as a learning objects. And then, this article tries to propose the classification-search system and meta-data elements for effective search and use of multimedia materials. Finally, this article is concluded by presenting the long-term plan of digital library construction on Nuri-Sejonghakdang and some follow-up task of this study.

In this paper, I analyzed the russian cultural content of the russian textbook according to curriculum changes. The aim of this study is to analyze the content of the russian textbooks on russian culture. Our education of russian language begins in high school as a second language. And russian education in high school entirely depend on the textbook. In these circumstances, Russian textbooks play a very important role in the Russian language learning. For a practical and efficient language learning, acquisition of cultural knowledge is very important. Because cultural content can be learning motivational factors. But the contents of a textbook is not satisfactory enough to teach russian culture. More efficient textbook must be developed to advance student's linguistic ability.

Specific Language Impairment is one of the serious disorders that interferes with spontaneous communication skills in children. Children suffering from this disorder may have reading, speaking, or listening impairments, and such type of disorders are also termed Autism Speech Disorder (ASD) in medical terminology. The aim of the article is to define specific language impairment in children and the problems it can cause. The different methods adopted by speech pathologists to diagnose language impairment. Finally implementing machine learning models to automate the process and help speech pathologists and pediatricians/ in diagnosing the specific language impairment.

We introduce a high-performance named entity recognition (NER) model for written and spoken language. To overcome challenges related to labeled data scarcity and domain shifts, we use transfer learning to leverage our previously developed KorBERT as the base model. We also adopt a meta-pseudo-label method using a teacher/student framework with labeled and unlabeled data. Our model presents two modifications. First, the student model is updated with an average loss from both human- and pseudo-labeled data. Second, the influence of noisy pseudo-labeled data is mitigated by considering feedback scores and updating the teacher model only when below a threshold (0.0005). We achieve the target NER performance in the spoken language domain and improve that in the written language domain by proposing a straightforward rollback method that reverts to the best model based on scarce human-labeled data. Further improvement is achieved by adjusting the label vector weights in the named entity dictionary.

This paper is a qualitative study of the experiences of Korean heritage language learners (KHLLs) with literacy (reading and writing), particularly before they enter the college-level heritage language classroom. Previous research, both qualitative and quantitative, has addressed the overall language background of KHLLs, including oral and aural proficiency and writing and reading ability, as well as demographic information (such as when the student immigrated to the United States) in relation to language test scores. This study addresses KHLL experiences in the following six areas as they relate to student perceptions and attitudes toward their own heritage language literacy: language proficiency, motivation for learning, academic preparedness, cultural connectedness, emotional factors, and social factors. Fourteen undergraduate students at a university in the western United States participated in a convenience sample by responding to a 10-question survey. Trends in responses indicated that KHLLs entered the classroom with high integrational motivation and experienced great satisfaction with perceived progress in literacy, but students also expressed regret for having missed childhood learning experiences that would likely have resulted in higher proficiency. These experiences include informal and formal instruction in the home and formal instruction outside of the home.

According to studies of many language education researchers including R. Ellis, a representative English education specialist, it is an effective and important method to improve the authenticity of English by learning a foreign language repeatedly in learner's actual situation. In this paper, we propose a foreign language learning service combined with context-awareness service, and develop foreign language learning contents which improves the authenticity of English learning based on the service. This approach is based on a study on digital education contents that helps learners to acquire a foreign language in an unconscious state in their real environment and a study to analyze the empirical characteristics of users based on real-time multi-sensed data.

Useful applications for English education enable immediate conversion of mobile devices into remote wireless systems for classroom computers. Once the free software has been installed in the main computers in the classroom, using powerpoint, students can operate the computers through their mobile devices by installing Air mouse on them. By using this, the students can draw or write on the "board" to manipulate the educational resources from where they are/from their seats. The study of English language encompasses not only academic study but also language training. Until recently, the issue of the English language learning has been ridden with certain problems-instead of being a tool that facilitates communication, its main purpose has been for school grades, TOEIC, and TOEFL. This study suggests English language learning methodology using various applications such as mobile, VOD English language content, and movie scripts in implementing easy and fun English language learning activities that can be studied regularly. This is operationalized by setting a specific limit on learning and by using various media such as podcast, Apps, to increase interest, motivation, and self-directed learning in a passive learning environment.

This case study examines the experiences of an African American student's successful second language acquisition in Korea. There is an increasing number of multicultural families in Korea; but few research on African American students' second language learning. In the past, some American researchers have analyzed African American students as academic underachievers for learning and there is a scarcity of research on African American students' successfully acquiring a second language. With this qualitative research design, the researchers interviewed, and observed an African American girl named Mary. The researchers also interviewed Mary's mother, teacher, and peers about Mary's Korean language development. The results of this study revealed Mary's determined efforts to become a fluent Korean speaker with support from family, community and friends. Mary underwent unique social and systematic supports for her language development. This paper concludes with the educational implication for multicultural language learners in Korea and the possibility to diminish the common stereotypes of African Americans as underachievers.

This Paper Presents an Internet-based Java self-learning educational system which consists of a management system named Java Web Player (JWP) and creative multimedia contents fer Java language. The JWP Is a Java application program free from security problems by the Java Web Start technologies that supports an Integrated learning environment including three Important learning Procedures: Java concept learning Process, Programming practice process and assessment process. This JWP enables the learners to achieve efficient and Interesting self-learning since the learning process is designed to enhance the multimedia capabilities on the basis of various educational technologies. On-line voice presentation and its related texts together with moving images are synchronized for efficiently conveying creative contents to learners. Furthermore, a simple and useful compiler is included in the JWP fur providing user-friendly language practice environment enabling such as coding, editing, executing and debugging Java source files on the Web. The assessment process with various items helps the learners not only to increase their academic capability but also to appreciate their current degree of understanding. Finally, simple multiple choices are given suddenly to the learners while they are studying through the JWP and the test results are displayed on the message box. The proposed system can be used for an efficient tool for learning system on the Web.
