  • The purpose is to produce a model of nuclear reactor trip logic caused by the steam generator water level of Wolsong 2/3/4 unit through an activity chart and a statechart and to produce C language automatically using Statechart-based Formalism and Stalemate MAGNUM toolset suggested by David Harel Formalism. It was worth attempting auto-generation of C language though we manually made Software Requirement Specification(SRS) for safety-critical software using statechart-based formalism. Most of the phases of the software life-cycle except the software requirement specification of an analysis phase were generated automatically by Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools. It was verified that automatically produced C language has high productivity, portability, and quality through the simulation.

  • The massive growth of the internet and the world-wide-web leads us to research the programming languages for the development of applications in heterogeneous, network-wide distributed environments. Java is an object-oriented language for such a environment and the Java programming language environment provides a portable, interpreted, high-performance, simple programming language. Bytecode is an intermediate code for Java language and it enables the development of applications on multiple platform in heterogeneous, distributed networks. But it takes much time to execute Bytecode because of using an interpretation method. In this paper, we design and implement a retargetable code generation system which can be systematically reconfigured to generate code for a variety of distinct target computers. From the system, we realize the code generation system which translates the Bytecode being produced by Java compiler into Pentium target code. We use ACK code generation system to do the work easily.

  • China has been experiencing a series of changes after gradually opening up its society. Such changes have now seeped into almost every sector of the society, leading to overall change. While the political system has been maintained without much change, the structure of life for Chinese has undergone a shift, especially in the sectors related to industry or the economy. The Chinese have adopted capitalism in their own way, leading to fast growth in their industries. Those who were born in the 1980s amidst such change (so-called the post-80s generation) are now playing a major role in Chinese society. Understanding this generation can help understand some of the most important phenomena in today's China. Therefore the language used by this generation is in particular meaningful as language often reflects the society it is used in. This study focuses on the newly created words arising from the lifestyles of the post-80s generation to better understand how the China's move towards a more open society over the past three decades have brought about changes. The work culture and consumption styles of the post-80s generation are also showing some collective characteristics. As such, a review of newly created Chinese words related to this generation is expected to increase understanding of the overall Chinese society and Chinese culture of today.

  • While the existing Web focuses on the interface with human users based on HTML, the next generation Web will focus on the interaction among software agents by using XML and XML-based standards and technologies. The inference engine, which will serve as brains of software agents in the next generation Web, should thoroughly understand the Semantic Web, the standard language of the next generation Web. As abasis for the service, the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) has recommended SWRL (Semantic Web Rule Language) which had been made by compounding OWL (Web Ontology Language) and RuleML (Rule Markup Language). In this research, we develop a backward chaining inference engine SMART-B (SeMantic web Agent Reasoning Tools -Backward chaining inference engine), which uses SWRL and OWL to represent rules and facts respectively. We analyze the requirements for the SWRL-based backward chaining inference and design analgorithm for the backward chaining inference which reflects the traditional backward chaining inference algorithm and the requirements of the next generation Semantic Web. We also implement the backward chaining inference engine and the administrative tools for fact and rule bases into Java components to insure the independence and portability among different platforms under the environment of Ubiquitous Computing.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the research trends and their experiment results on the applications of the language models for information retrieval. We reviewed the previous studies with the following categories: (1) the first generation of language modeling information retrieval (LMIR) experiments which are mainly focused on comparing the language modeling information retrieval with the traditional retrieval models in their retrieval performance, and (2) the second generation of LMIR experiments which are focused on comparing the expanded language modeling information retrieval with the basic language models in their retrieval performance. Through the analysis of the previous experiments results, we found that (1) language models are outperformed the probabilistic model or vector space model approaches, and (2) the expended language models demonstrated better results than the basic language models in their retrieval performance.

  • This article surveys recent research in the area of language modeling (sometimes called statistical language modeling) approaches to information retrieval. Language modeling is a formal probabilistic retrieval framework with roots in speech recognition and natural language processing. The underlying assumption of language modeling is that human language generation is a random process; the goal is to model that process via a generative statistical model. In this article, we discuss current research in the application of language modeling to information retrieval, the role of semantics in the language modeling framework, cluster-based language models, use of language modeling for XML retrieval and future trends.

  • This research focuses on the humboldt's thought for language. In Korea, only two themes, 'worldview' and 'nation' , problem of 'energeia' and 'ergon', was mostly researched. But we must research all together his thoughts, in order to understand his complete thoughts. His thoughts consist six themes : 1 . relation between thought and language. 2. problem of language-generation. 3. problem of translation. 4. substance of language. 5. worldview and nation. 6. energeia and ergon. From this five themes, we can understand, what his origin thought is. Therefore, we explained sequentially five themes in our paper. The theme 1, 5 and 6 are often interpretated between the scholars in Korea. But the theme 2 and 3 are not yet known. Therefore, we tried to explain it in this paper, what the problem of language-generation and the problem of translation are.tion and the problem of translation are.

  • This paper proposes a method of automatically identifying sentence types in Korean and improving naturalness in sign language generation and speech synthesis using the identified sentence type information. In Korean, sentences are usually categorized into five types: declarative, imperative, propositive, interrogative, and exclamatory. However, it is also known that these types are quite ambiguous to identify in dialogues. In this paper, we present additional morphological and syntactic clues for the sentence type and propose a rule-based procedure for identifying the sentence type using these clues. The experimental results show that our method gives a reasonable performance. We also describe how the sentence type is used to generate non-manual signals in Korean-Korean sign language translation and appropriate intonation in Korean speech synthesis. Since the method of using sentence type information in speech synthesis and sign language generation is not much studied previously, it is anticipated that our method will contribute to research on generating more natural speech and sign language expressions.

  • Recent deep learning-based research shows excellent performance in most natural language processing (NLP) fields with pre-trained language models. In particular, the auto-encoder-based language model proves its excellent performance and usefulness in various fields of Korean language understanding. However, the decoder-based Korean generative model even suffers from generating simple sentences. Also, there is few detailed research and data for the field of conversation where generative models are most commonly utilized. Therefore, this paper constructs multi-turn dialogue data for a Korean generative model. In addition, we compare and analyze the performance by improving the dialogue ability of the generative model through transfer learning. In addition, we propose a method of supplementing the insufficient dialogue generation ability of the model by extracting recommended response candidates from external knowledge information through a retrival model.

  • The present paper targets on the excessive structural article dao in the "$X^1$ + dao + si" phrases, aiming to see the possible generation of the excessive meaning. The generation of excessiveness will be analyzed from the aspect of cognition, including conceptual structure and metaphor. It will be concluded that the position indicated by si in concept plays a crucial, which then tells the importance of collocation. What is more, the comparison of dao and Southern Min kah will be made to see the degree of grammaticalization of dao.
