The so-called Korean BNC (bound noun construction) displays complex syntactic, semantic, and constructional properties. This paper, couched upon a constraint-based approach, two different syntactic structures for the construction with articulated lexical properties for the BNs and relevant predicates. The paper reports an implementation of this analysis in the LKB (Linguistic Knowledge Building) system and shows us that this direction is robust enough to pare relevant sentences.

구조물 모니터링 시스템의 전산환경을 구성하기 위해 필요한 지식 및 정보를 파악하고 이를 지식기반화하는 방법을 제시하였다. 전산환경의 구축을 위한 정보로는 센서 및 하드웨어, 신호처리, 그리고 손상발견/평가를 위한 지식등이 필요한데, 이들은 모두 다른 형태의 지식이므로, -즉 수학연산, 서술적 지식, 수치모델등- 어느 특정의 모델링 기법 단독으로는 이들을 효과적으로 수용하기가 매우 어렵다. 이를 해결하기 위하여 객체지향적 모델링기법과 논리언어를 혼합사용하는 방법 (Hybrid Modeling Paradigm)이 제시되었고, 이의 타당성 및 효율성 검증을 위해 모델구조물을 이용한 예제를 수행하였다.

So-called multiple nominative constructions (MNCs) in Korean are quite theoretically as well as computationally puzzling. This paper shows that a grammar allowing the interaction of declarative constraints on types of signs - in particular, constructions (phrases and clauses)-can provide a robust and efficient way of encoding generalizations for two different MNCs. The feasibility of the grammar developed has been checked with its implementation into the LKB (Linguistic Knowledge Building) system.

시맨틱 검색은 논리적으로 표현된 지식 베이스를 사용하여 현재의 키워드 기반 검색보다 더 정확한 결과를 제공할 수 있다. 그러나 일반 사용자는 지식 기반의 복잡하고 정형화된 질의어와 스키마를 잘 알지 못한다. 그래서 검색 시스템은 사용자 키워드의 의미를 해석할 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 콘텐츠의 시맨틱 검색을 위한 사용자 질의 의미 해석 시스템을 설명한다. 제안한 시스템은 도메인 온톨로지 기반으로 구축된 지식 베이스의 정형화된 구조에 의미 해석 과정이 통합된 온톨로지 지식 베이스 기반 검색 시스템이다.

A design system for mechanical components is being developed using an Object-Oriented Programming language Smalltalk to allow mechanical designers to use the experience of expert designers. The system is organized in such a manner that the expert knowledge stored in it could be easily retrieved by the junior designer. The experience and the knowledge of the expert are placed in the databases. Multiple design models, in this system, can be processed simultaneously, because the expert knowledge is broken down into elements which can be used by different design models. In this way the system proves more flexible and extendable. In this paper, the philosophy of the system and the databases involved in the system will be addressed.

This paper deals with a development of the system that implements a collaborative design environment with some intelligent agents on the m. Intelligent agents can design collaboratively trough an interchange of messages in their special domains. Such a collaborative design of agents is achieved on the WWW. In this paper, we propose special agents named intercessor and DCM (Dynamic Connection Manager) and suggest new connection architecture using these agents in the WWW in order to improve the pre-existed agent connection architecture. The proposed agents are developed using Java language and JATLite API. We apply the these agents to the new architecture and show some possibilities that the agent connection architecture can be extended in the WWW Agents interchange messages with others using KOML (Knowledge Query and Manipulation Language), agent communication protocol and language, and deal with message autonomously according to their rule base. Agents register and connect dynamically trough the intercessor agent, and infer from their.

Procedures play a key role in ensuring safe operation at nuclear power plants (NPPs). Development and maintenance of a large number of procedures reflecting the best knowledge available in all relevant areas is a complex job. This paper introduces a newly developed methodology and the implemented software, called iExtractor, for the extraction of syntactic and semantic information from NPP procedures utilizing natural language processing (NLP)-based technologies. The steps of the iExtractor integrated with sets of rules and an ontology for NPPs are described in detail with examples. Case study results of the iExtractor applied to selected procedures of a U.S. commercial NPP are also introduced. It is shown that the iExtractor can provide overall comprehension of the analyzed procedures and indicate parts of procedures that need improvement. The rich information extracted from procedures could be further utilized as a basis for their enhanced management.

The most important of rule-base system is the knowledge base that determines the power of rule-base system. The important form of this knowledge is how to descript kinds of rules. The Rule-Base System (RBS) has been using in many field that need reflect quickly change of business rules in management system. As far, when develop the Rule-Based System, we must make a rule engine with a general language. There are three disadvantage of in this developed method. First, while there are many data that must be processed in the system, the speed of processing data will become very slow so that we cannot accept it. Second, we cannot change the current system to make it adaptive to changes of business rules as quickly as possible. Third, large data make the rule engine become very complex. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the two important methods of raising efficiency of Rule-Base System. The first method refers to using the Relational database technology to process the rules of the Rule-Base System, the second method refers to a algorithm of according to Quine McCluskey formula compress the rows of rule table. Because the expressive languages of rule are still remaining many problems, we will introduce a new expressive language, which is Rule-Base Data Model short as RBDM in this paper.

사람의 언어를 이해하는 자연언어처리 시스템을 개발하기 위해서는 의미처리를 위한 지식 베이스(knowledge base)가 필요하다. 지금까지 사람이 가진 지식 베이스를 컴퓨터에 도입하려는 많은 노력을 기울이고 있고 그 결과물로 온톨로지(ontology)와 시소러스(thesaurus)가 만들어지고 있다. 외국에서는 지식 베이스의 중요성을 알고 많은 연구를 수행하고 있으며 그 대표적인 사례들에는 Roget's Thesaurus, WordNet, EDR 개념사전, CYC, Euro WordNet 등이 있다. 이 중에서 가장 대표적이며 많은 활용을 보이는 것이 Princeton 대학의 WordNet이다. WordNet은 인간의 어휘지식에 대한 심리 언어학적인 연구의 결과물로써 심리학자와 언어학자들에 의해 10여 년 동안 구축되고 있는 영어에 대한 어휘데이터베이스이다. 본 논문에서는 WordNet을 기반으로 명사에 대해서 영한사전과 국어사전을 이용하여 구축한 한국어 워드넷을 소개하구 구축시 고려한 기본지침을 소개하도록 하겠다.

A hot-issued research topic in the workflow intelligence arena is the emerging topic of "workflow-supported organizational social networks." These specialized social networks have been proposed to primarily represent the process-driven work-sharing and work-collaborating relationships among the workflow-performers fulfilling a series of workflow-related operations in a workflow-supported organization. We can discover those organizational social networks, and visualize its analysis results as organizational knowledge. In this paper, we are particularly interested in how to visualize the degrees of closeness centralities among workflow-performers by proposing a graphical representation schema based on the Graph Markup Language, which is named to ccWSSN-GraphML. Additionally, we expatiate on the functional expansion of the closeness centralization formulas so as for the visualization framework to handle a group of workflow procedures (or a workflow package) with organizational workflow-performers.
