본 연구의 목적은 조경의 측면에서는 크게 주목받지 못했던 르 르코뷔지에의 건축과 조경이 모더니즘 조경에 미친 영향과 유산을 객관적인 관점에서 분석하는 데 있다. 본 연구는 세 부분으로 나누어 르 코르뷔지에와 모더니즘 조경의 관계를 고찰하였다. 첫 번째 부분에서는 시기별로 르 코르뷔지에의 이론과 실천에서 나타나는 건축과 조경의 관계를 살펴보고, 르 코르뷔지에의 조경에 대한 당시의 평가를 분석하였다. 두 번째 부분에서는 르 코르뷔지에가 동 시대에 활동했던 주요한 유럽의 조경가에게 미쳤던 영향력을 베라, 뤼르사, 칸네일 클라에스를 중심으로 살펴보고, 유럽의 모더니즘 조경과 르 코르뷔지에의 관계를 분석하였다. 세 번째 부분에서는 르 코르뷔지에가 주요한 영미권의 모더니즘 조경가에게 미쳤던 영향력을 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 르 코르뷔지에가 당시 유럽과 미국의 모더니즘 조경가들에게 큰 영향을 미침으로써 모더니즘 조경의 형성 과정에 영향을 주었다는 사실을 밝혀내었다. 르 코르뷔지에의 이론과 실천은 일방적으로 현대 조경의 담론 내로 받아들여졌기보다는 부정적인 평가와 긍정적인 평가가 공존한 상태에서 선택적으로 수용되었다. 칸레일 클라에스, 터너드, 에크보와 같은 조경가들은 자신의 이론과 실천을 확립하면서 르 르코뷔지에를 적극적으로 수용하였지만, 스틸과 로즈의 경우 르 코르뷔지에의 조경에 대한 비판적인 입장에 있었다. 또한, 처치, 카일리와 같이 르 코르뷔지에에게 간접적으로 영향을 받아 모더니즘 조경의 양식을 구축한 조경가들도 있었다.

This essay addresses the role of environmental aesthetics in landscape architecture : how can environmental aesthetics enrich landscape architectural theory and practice\ulcorner It begins by criticizing the predominant notions toward theory : theory as an instrumental design method, theoretical vacuum in modernism of landscape architecture, and the intimate relation of theory and practice in 18th-century England. It suggests that the expulsion of theory in landscape architectural academics and profession is nothing but an inappropriate bias. In the second place, the essay explores a remaining question : why environmental aesthetics is a part of landscape architectural theory\ulcorner I would argue that environmental aesthetics can transcend the man-nature(subject-object) dichotomy, one of heritages of Western modernity project. Here, landscape architecture meets environmental aesthetics, and both can intermediate between theory and practice. For landscape architecture is (and ought to be) a device of embodied communication, creating symbolic settings wherein an interconnection of man and nature can occur. Finally, this essay examines the aesthetics of engagement that Arnold Berleant claimed recently. This theory of aesthetic experience has a possibility of making corrections some improper conventions in landscape architectural creation and appreciation : disinterested contemplation, visual-orientedness, decoration-denteredness, and so forth. I would conclude that environmental aesthetics can be a significant theory which can correct misconceptions in landscape design and appreciation and, further, can lead contemporary practice. As the great mediator between man and nature, between theory and practice, environmental aesthetics has a profound role to play in the realm of landscape architecture, and vice versa.

The purpose of this study is to understand whether the architecture of the mountain village conforms to the geography and local landscape, and become a unique scenic element. Also, the study is to grasp the status of the village landscape design elements. The methods and contents of the study were surveyed by field research with references in Biederbach community, an isolated mountain village in Southwestern Germany. The time frame for the survey research is July 2015. The contents of the study include the analysis of the village's landscape structure, architecture, and landscape design patterns. The following conclusions were reached through the above research process. First, the village landscape structure seen in the mid-distance view is the hilly scene of the alpine region, which houses the sloping terrain of Black Forest and surrounds the residential area with the grassland covered by the Black Forest. Second, the main elements of the town's landscape building are historical culture, traditional architecture, topology and nature, and artificial environmental design. Third, the landscape design utilizing the village's resources creates a sustainable community's residential environment.

The purpose of this study is to analyze environmental-friendly design features in landscape architecture. The process of the study first started theoretical research of 'Environmental-friendly' and 'Landscape', then extracted primary conceptual elements that based on ecological background, and analyze 20 cases, from 1990 to now, based on elements that extracted. Summarizing about environment-friendly feature in landscape architecture of Form, Space, Energy Management is as following. First, In the formal aspect, Landscape architecture tend to harmonize with surrounding environment through horizontal, vertical continuity that is realized to transform artificial plate. Second, In the spatial aspect, Landscape architectural space has flexible feature. It is expression through methods blur boundary between outside and inside, lead to change and experience by time, indeterminacy of program. Third, In the energy management aspect, the introduction of effective energy system increase environmental features in space through technical application and environmental-friendly materials.
