램파의 분산성과 파 반사가 시간반전과정에 미치는 영향의 이해 (Understanding the Effects of the Dispersion and Reflection of Lamb Waves on a Time Reversal Process)

  • 이 연구에서는 얇은 판형구조물의 손상탐지에 널리 사용되어오는 램파에 시간반전(time reversal)개념의 적용성을 이론적으로 규명한다. 고전적 시간반전 음향학에 의하면, 센서에서의 출력신호를 시간영역에서 반전 후 재입사시켜 원래의 가진점으로 돌려보내면, 그 가진점에서 원래 입력신호가 복원된다. 그러나 램파에 시간반전과정을 적용하게 되면 램파 고유의 분산성과 판 경계에서의 파 반사로 인해 시간반전성이 복잡한 양상을 띠게 된다. 이러한 램파의 시간반전성을 보다 잘 이해하기 위해 이 연구에서는 램파의 시간반전과정을 이론적으로 규명한다. 특히, 램파의 내부모드분산, 다중모드분산, 그리고 판 경계면에서의 램파의 반사가 시간반전성에 미치는 영향을 정식화하였다 간단한 수치예제를 통해 이 연구에서 제시된 이론적 발견들의 타당성을 검증한다.

Effect of Maternal Under-nutrition during Late Pregnancy on Lamb Birth Weight

  • This study investigated the effects of maternal undernutrition during late pregnancy on lamb birth weight. 45 Mongolian ewes, synchronized for oestrus and then mated, were divided into four groups and offered 0.86 MJME/kgw-0.75d-1 (control group; CG : ad libitum access to feed), $0.44MJME/kgw^{-0.75}d^{-1}$ (Restricted Group 3; R3), $0.33MJME/kgw^{-0.75}d^{-1}$ (Restricted Group 2; R2) and $0.20MJME/kgw^{-0.75}d^{-1}$ (Restricted Group 1; R1) respectively during late pregnancy (90-150 days). During restriction, maternal net body weight loss, insulin and NEFA concentrations and lamb birth weight were measured. The results indicated that loss of maternal body weight in R3, R2 and R1 was 4.42, 7.23, 11.13 kg respectively, which was significantly (p<0.01) higher than that in CG (0.93 kg). Insulin concentrations of the ewes in R1, R2 and R3 were lower and were significantly different (p<0.05) between restricted groups and CG at 124 d of pregnancy. NEFA concentrations in all groups tended to decrease from 90d of gestation to parturition and in R1 were significantly (p<0.05) lower than in CG at 124 d of gestation. Lamb birth weight in R1 was significantly lower than in R2, R3 and CG (p<0.05). In conclusion, with decreasing supply of maternal nutrition, the retardation of fetal growth became worse. When the plane of nutrition was below $0.33MJME/kgw^{-0.75}d^{-1}$, significant effects of maternal undernutrition on lamb birth weight were observed.

레이저에 의한 집속형 램파의 집속도 향상을 위한 원호형 슬릿 설계 (Arrayed-Arc Slit Design to Improve the focusing Effect of the focused Lamb Wave by Laser)

  • 최근 램파를 비파괴검사에 이용하고자 하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그 중에서도, 레이저에 의해 집속형 램파를 발생시키는 방법은 비접촉식 검사의 장점과 함께 높은 공간분해능을 기대할 수 있다 이 방법에서 레이저는 원호배열슬릿을 통하여 판재 표면에 조사되는데, 발생된 램파의 에너지가 원호배열의 초점에 집속되는 효과를 갖게 된다. 이 때 공간분해능의 향상은 램파의 집속도를 높임으로써 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 높은 집속도의 램파를 발생시키도록 원호형 슬릿을 설계하기 위해 슬릿의 형상인자와 램파의 집속도 사이의 관계를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 레이저조사반경과 원호각, 원호수를 증가시키거나 원호반경과 파장을 감소시킴으로써 집속도를 높일 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 본 연구의 결과는 적절한 원호형 슬릿의 설계기준으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대 된다.

Effect of mechanically deboned poultry meat content on technological properties and sensory characteristics of lamb and mutton sausages

  • Objective: This study aimed to develop a value-added product concerning technological and sensory characteristics changes of the use of mechanically deboned poultry meat (MDPM) as meat replacer in lamb and mutton emulsion-type sausages (mortadella). Methods: Sausages were produced with lamb and mutton and with different contents of MDPM. Six treatments, using lamb or mutton and 0%, 30%, and 60% of MDPM in relation to the meat batter, were produced and analyzed for pH, proximal composition, calcium and residual nitrite content, water activity, 2-thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), instrumental color and texture profile. The sensory profile of the mortadella's was also evaluated by acceptance test and check-all-that-applies (CATA) analysis. Results: The MDPM addition increased (p<0.05) fat, residual nitrite and calcium content in the all sausage formulations, but mutton sausage had (p<0.05) higher fat and lower moisture content than lamb sausage. The pH, water activity, TBARS index and color was not affected by MDPM additions, while the mutton sausages were significantly redder (higher $a^*$, $C^*$, and lower $h^{\circ}$) and darker (lower $L^*$) than lamb sausages. Adding up to 60% of MDPM reduced (p<0.05) sausages hardness and chewiness. Overall, the meat replacement by MDPM increased the sausages acceptance, but the mutton sausage with 30% of MDPM replacer were the most preferred. Consumers related that pink color, glossy appearance, poultry meat-like taste, soft texture, juicy and greasy mouth feel to all sausages contain MDPM according to CATA analysis. Conclusion: Mutton from culled ewes can be utilized for mortadella production with 30% replacement of lean mutton and fat by MDPM.

  • 램파를 구조물 안전진단(structural health monitoring, 이하 SMH) 기법에 효과적으로 적용하기 위해서 구조물의 손상과 램파간의 물리적 특성 및 상호관계를 정확히 이해하는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 modal decomposition 방법을 이용하여 비대칭 불연속면에서 램파의 투과와 반사, 모드 변이를 모사하고, 그 진폭 비율을 불연속면의 깊이에 따라 예측하였다. 또한 이론적으로 예측된 결과를 압전센서(PZT)를 모사한 유한요소법(FEM) 모델과 실험을 통해 검증하였다. 그 결과, modal decomposition 방법을 이용한 이론적 예측이 압전센서를 이용한 유한요소 해석 및 실험 결과와 근접한 것을 확인하였으며, 불연속면의 깊이에 따른 램파의 반사와 투과, 모드 변이의 양을 이용하여 손상의 크기를 정량적으로 측정할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다.

Behaviour of twin- and triplet-born lambs and their dam 3 to 18 hours after birth is not a useful predictor of lamb survival to weaning

  • Objective: An experiment was designed to determine if behaviour traits expressed by twin- and triplet-bearing lambs and their dams at 3 to 18 hours of age (after the immediate ewe-lamb bonding had occurred) were associated with lamb survival to weaning. Methods: The behaviour of twin and triplet lambs and their dams was assessed in the paddock at 3 to 18 hours after birth. Observations were made of the number of high- and low-pitched bleats, time to stand, make contact with dam, suck from dam and follow dam were recorded for each lamb. The maternal behaviour score of each dam was assessed. A random sub-sample of lambs were assessed during a maternal-recognition test at 12 or 24 hours of age. Traits included time spent standing, sitting, walking, time taken to reach the ewes and time spent with the ewes as well as the number of high- and low-pitched bleats emitted by the lamb. Results: In the paddock, for each additional second required for twin-born lambs to follow their dam, lambs were 1.004 (95% confidence interval [CI] 1.000 to 1.008) times more likely to survive to weaning (p<0.05). The opposite relationship, however, was seen in triplet lambs. For each additional second required for triplet-born lambs to follow their dam, lambs were 0.996 (95% CI 0.993 to 0.999) times as likely to survive to weaning (p<0.05). During the maternal recognition test, twin-born lambs were 0.989 (95% CI 0.979 to 1.000) times as likely to survive to weaning for every additional second they took to reach the contact zone (p<0.05). Similarly, triplet-born lambs were 0.994 (95% CI 0.989 to 0.999) as likely to survive for every additional second they took to reach their dam (p<0.05). Conclusion: All ewe behaviours and the majority of lamb paddock and test behaviours were not associated with the survival of twin- or triplet-born lambs and, therefore, are of little use as indicators of lamb survival to weaning.

생체 내 경골의 피질골에서 시간역전 램파의 군속도와 피질골 특성 사이의 상관관계 (Correlations between the group velocity of time-reversed Lamb waves and cortical bone properties in tibial cortical bone in vivo)

  • 노화 및 골다공증으로 인한 경골 또는 요골과 같은 긴 뼈의 외부 껍질을 구성하는 피질골의 골강도 변화는 골절의 위험인자로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 시간역전법을 이용하여 생체 내 경골의 피질골에서 발생된 시간역전 램파의 군속도를 측정하고, 군속도가 피질골의 골강도와 밀접한 관련이 있는 cortical bone thickness(cTh) 및 cortical bone mineral density(cBMD)와 갖는 상관관계를 조사하였다. 7명의 실험대상자의 우측 경골에서 측정된 시간역전 램파의 군속도는 cTh와 r = 0.90(p < 0.0001)의 매우 높은 상관관계를 보이며, cBMD와는 r = 0.69(p < 0.0001)의 상대적으로 낮은 상관관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 본 생체 내 연구의 한계점은 단지 7명의 건강한 성인으로 구성된 정상군에 대하여 시간역전 램파의 군속도가 측정되었다는 것이다. 향후 다수의 건강한 성인 및 골다공증 환자로 각각 구성된 정상군 및 골다공증군에 대한 후속연구를 통하여 시간역전 램파의 임상적 유용성이 입증된다면 골다공증 진단을 위한 정량적 초음파 기술의 신뢰도를 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 또한 시간역전 램파의 군속도를 측정하기 위한 골격 부위를 경골뿐만 아니라 대퇴골 또는 요골까지 확장시킬 필요가 있다.

조선시대 순대의 종류 및 조리방법에 대한 문헌적 고찰 (A Literature Review on the Types and Cooking Methods of Soondae during the Joseon Dynasty)

  • This article examines the types and cooking methods of Soondae (Korean Traditional Sausage) as recorded in 12 books of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1909). The ingredients used in Soondae during the Joseon dynasty were dog meat, beef, pork, lamb, and fish. There were no recorded mentions of Soondae in the early Joseon dynasty, but by the middle period there were three different dishes recorded. By the late era of the Joseon dynasty that number had increased to twelve. During the middle era of the Joseon dynasty, one kind of Soondae was prepared using dog meat, one using beef, and one using pork. By the late Joseon dynasty, there were six types of Soondae prepared using beef. They also had three kinds of Soondae prepared using lamb and two using fish, one using pork by that time. The frequency of the Soondae ingredients during the Joseon dynasty in order were beef (46.7%), lamb (20%), pork (13.3%), fish (13.3%), and dog meat (6.7%). Further study will be conducted on recipes and ingredients recorded in these old books to develop a standardized recipe in order to make Soondae appealing to a global palate.

The influence of the initial stresses on Lamb wave dispersion in pre-stressed PZT/Metal/PZT sandwich plates

  • Within the scope of the plane-strain state, by utilizing the three-dimensional linearized theory of elastic waves in initially stressed piezoelectric and elastic materials, Lamb wave propagation and the influence of the initial stresses on this propagation in a sandwich plate with pre-stressed piezoelectric face and pre-stressed metal elastic core layers are investigated. Dispersion equations are derived for the extensional and flexural Lamb waves and, as a result of numerical solution to these equations, the corresponding dispersion curves for the first (fundamental) and second modes are constructed. Concrete numerical results are obtained for the cases where the face layers' materials are PZT-2 or PZT-6B, but the material of the middle layer is Steel (St) or Aluminum (Al). Sandwich plates PZT-2/St/PZT-2, PZT-2/Al/PZT-2, PZT-6B/St/PZT-6B and PZT-6B/Al/PZT-6B are examined and the influence of the problem parameters such as piezoelectric and dielectric constants, layer thickness ratios and third order elastic constants of the St and Al on the effects of the initial stresses on the wave propagation velocity is studied.
