Analysis of the Logic Minimization in the Design of 74LS49 and 74LS47 BCD-to-Seven-Segment Decoders (74LS49와 74LS49의 디자인에 사용된 로직최소화에 대한 분석)

  • The 74LS49 and 74LS47 chips are MSI circuits and are used for decoding the BCD input and driving seven-segment displays. The logic of these chips are often used not only as component chips in the commercial digital systems, but are used as library components in fairly complicated ASIC designs. Thus, the understanding of the logic characteristics of these chips is beneficial for future applications. It was analyzed reversely that the design of these chips includes a special logic minimization technique, which neither documented nor reported. This paper is to analyze the function of the logic and the special minimization technique adapted in the design of 74LS49 and 74LS47 chips.

  • This paper analyzes the 74LS381 ALU and designs its equivalent circuit. The 74LS381 ALU is arithmetic logic units(ALUs)/function generators that perform eight binary arithmetic/logic operations on two 4-bit words. However there are only little information to understand and design this circuit. Thus, we not only analyzed it but also designed an equivalent circuit to the 74LS381.

  • In this paper, LS-SynRM (Line Start-Synchronous Reluctance Motor) has been attracting attention in replace of induction motor which hardly provides high efficiency. Compared to induction motor, LS-SynRM has better efficiency per unit area. This study demonstrated the electromagnetic design methods of LS-SynRM while maintaining the frame of existing IE3 induction motor for blower. We documented the design procedures for generating high saliency which is the most essential and mechanical stress analysis is also treated. In conclusion, we proved the validity of our design by manufacturing and testing our LS-SynRM models.

  • We present the development of a water-cooled heat sink that provides reliable thermal performance for high-power IGBT inverter. The development process comprises three stages. In the concept design, the thermal performances of two design proposals are considered. The thermal system of each design is particularly analyzed using the compact model. In the detailed design stage, specific dimensions of the heat sink are determined considering the design options under given external restrictions and the results from three-dimensional heat transfer analysis. The prototype of the resultant design is made and tested on the rig for final confirmation. We emphasize the relevant use of the thermal analysis on each stage and also discuss various practical issues involved.

  • The 30m, 3phase, 22.9kV HTS (High Temperature Superconducting) power cable system was produced by LS Cable Ltd. The project aims for a commercial HTS cable. The designing, the manufacturing and the initial operating of HTS cable system were completed by 2004. Then, we have performed a long term operational test since February, 2005. This paper mainly reports the result of the HTS cable cooling operation.

  • 본 연구에서는 EPCIS(전자상품코드 정보 서비스) 시스템의 요구사항인 추상화, 고성능, 확장성, 상호 운용성을 기반으로 EPCIS 시스템의 구조를 설계하고 구현한다. EPCIS 시스템의 추상화를 위해 기존에 존재하는 다양한 데이터 베이스 시스템과 상호 운용을 위한 공통 인터페이스를 구현하고 내부적으로 확장 질의 인터페이스, 공통 질의 언어를 가진다. 연속 질의 처리 시간을 감소 시키고 중복된 결과를 효과적으로 처리하기 위한 연속 질의 처리 모듈을 구현한다. 또한 RFID(전자 태그)의 이력 추적 질의의 고성능을 지원하기 위해 RFID 환경에 최적화된 색인 기술과 질의 처리를 위한 구성 요소(Component)를 추가하여 EPCIS 시스템의 고성능 질의 처리를 가능하게 한다. 또한 확장성을 위해 저장소(EPCIS Repository) 관리자를 구현하여 비즈니스 이벤트의 메타 데이터의 스키마를 정의하여 새로운 종류의 비즈니스 이벤트를 쉽게 등록하고 사용할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 기업의 응용 시스템과 협력 기업간에 정보 교환을 위해서 EPC 글로벌에서 제시하는 웹 서비스를 지원하며 표준 데이터 형식인 확장성 생성 언어(XML)를 사용한다.

  • Hardware In-the-Loop simulation(HIL)은 실제 하드웨어 시스템을 실시간 모사할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 장비로 연구 및 개발 기간의 단축, 비용저감 등의 장점을 앞세워 다양한 전력전자 분야에 사용되고 있다. 실제 하드웨어를 그대로 모사하는 것이 HIL의 목적이기 때문에 HIL 장비는 검증의 실시간성과 출력된 결과의 정확성이 무엇보다도 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 하지만 코어간의 데이터를 주고받는 과정에서 HIL의 연산 속도 및 정확성을 저해하는 요인들이 발생하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 HIL 장비를 이용해 복잡한 시스템을 구현함에 있어서 연산속도 및 정확성을 저해하는 요인들을 찾아내고 이를 해결하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 연산속도 개선 및 정확성 개선 방법의 타당성은 프로세서의 연산 속도 변화량, HIL 및 시험 결과 파형의 비교 분석을 통해 검증되었다.

Sensitivity analysis of the influencing factors of slope stability based on LS-SVM

  • This study proposes a sensitivity analysis method for slope stability based on the least squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) to examine the influencing factors of slope stability. The method uses LS-SVM as an algorithm for machine learning. An appropriate training dataset is established according to the slope characteristics, and a testing dataset is designed orthogonally. Results of the testing data in the experiment design are calculated after training using the LS-SVM model. The sensitivity of the slope stability of each factor is examined via gray correlation analysis. The results are consistent with those of the traditional Bishop analysis and can be used as a reference for optimizing slope design.

  • An underground electric switch is a high-voltage switch used in distribution network systems for a reliable power supply. Many studies are being conducted to expand the switch to use an eco-friendly gas using dry air instead of SF6 gas to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In this study, a flow analysis model was established to improve the performance of an eco-friendly gas switch. The results were compared and reviewed through experiments. For the optimal arc grid design applied to the switch, the flow characteristics based on the flow path configuration and the changes in arcing time for each configuration were compared. Flow analysis can predict the switch flow distribution, and a comparative review of the flow path configurations of various methods is possible.
