An Improved LOS Analysis Method for Pedestrian Walkways Using Pedestrian Space (보행 점유공간을 이용한 보행자도로 서비스수준 분석방법론 개선 연구)

  • This study describes an improved model for estimating pedestrian LOS (Level of Service) by utilizing the space occupied by pedestrians. The method introduced the concept of conflict along the bi-directional pedestrian flow which enables calculating conflict area and average travel time in walking. Especially, the method incorporates the idea of generalized density concept which can consider effective walking area and pedestrian flow rates that might vary during the analysis period. After establishing methodology, adjustments of pedestrian LOS criteria in term of walking space occupied by pedestrians were performed. As a result, walking-occupied space at capacity level is 0.68 and corresponding pedestrian flow rate was calculated as 80 persons/min/m, while different pedestrian-occupied spaces were ordered to classify LOS at the points where the gradient changes. Furthermore, the statistical verification of service levels has shown that there is significant difference among all LOS categories at 5% significance level.

  • Long-tail problem은 class 별로 sample의 개수에 차이가 있어 성능에 안 좋은 영향을 미치는 것을 말한다. 본 논문에서는 cost-sensitive learning 중 Class-Balanced Loss를 이용해 성능을 개선하여 Long-tail problem을 해결하려고 한다. 먼저, balanced data set과 imbalanced data set의 성능 차이를 살펴보도록 할 것이다. 그 후, Class-Balanced Loss를 3가지 버전으로 이용해 그 성능을 측정하고 분석해 볼 것이다.

  • Level of Service(LOS) is classified A through F in highway system (KHCM), usually using LOS C in express way and D in national road. (LOS C denotes 75% of capacity) Meanwhile in Railroad System, there is no clearly defined LOS, and the daily demand in infra-structure planning has been used. It is very important that LOS provides consequently a consensus of opinion between users and operators because there is a close relation between user demand and level of services. Considering this, there should exist clearly defined Level of Services in Railroad System Planning so that demand can be predicted precisely.

  • In this paper as a follow-up to Paper I, the required fade margin derived in Paper I to preserve the same service quality has been examined by analyzing system and propagation characteristics as well as measured data. The comparison of the fade margin between simulated and measured results is also performed for the actual operating line-of-sight(LOS) and non-LOS links, and practical usefulness as an analysis tool is revealed by checking service quality of M/W system relevant to frequency reallocation. According to simulated and measured results, there was a little difference for LOS link between Mt. Moodung and Mt. Mangun, but a fairly good agreement was reached for non-LOS link between Andong KBS and transmitter site.

  • Preparing the conversion to the digital broadcasting system, we are deciding broadcasting network plan and interference protection area, using the measured receiving electric field level from the digital broadcasting station. However, the essential researches are needed about a receiving electric field level, because a digital TV (DTV) broadcasting receiver has been improved and an actual receiving environment should be considered. In this paper, the measured data were classified with domestic terrain of line of sight (LOS) and those of non-LOS, and effective receiving electric field level was proposed based on the LOS data. It is known that receiving electric field-level of 48 ㏈uV/m or more should be required for receiving rate of 90% and 50 ㏈uV/m for that of 95%, on the basis of the information of domestic terrain LOS.

  • Microwave(M/W) bands, though having great demand in wireless services, have been used mostly for long distance communications. As a result, the studies on their mobile radio models have been made less than on VHF/UHF. However, as the mobile communication services with M/W bands have been increasing, the development of a more accurate prediction model of the mobile radio environments has been demanded. The development of a reliable radio prediction model in the mobile radio environments requires the measurement and analysis of the characteristics of the radio waves according to reflection, diffraction and scattering of radio signals in various mobile radio environments. The proposed 8 GHz band radio prediction models have 2 different categories: (1) LOS model and (2) non-LOS model. The LOS model predicts signal strength using the analytic result with measured pathless exponents for the waves direct and reflected by ground and buildings, and the non-LOS model suggests a prediction model of received power by calculating the signal variations after diffraction.

  • RF circuit을 구현하는데 있어서 기판의 전기적 특성을 정확하게 아는 것은 매우 중요하다. 왜냐하면 초고주파로 갈수록 기판의 전기적인 특성이 circuit에 많은 영향을 미치고 이러한 영향을 고려한 circuit를 설계해야 원하는 결과를 얻을 수 있기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 현재 사용되고 있는 PI 기판의 전기적인 특성인 유효 유전율과 loss tangent 값을 캐패시터를 이용해 정확하게 측정하고자 했다. 캐패시터의 conductor material은 Cu를 사용하였고 PI 기판의 투께는 25um 를 이용하였다. PI 기판의 유효 유전율은 캐패시터 측정에 의한 data률 EM simulation tool 을 통해 분석한 후 간단한 수식에 의해 구했다. 또한 PI 기판의 loss tangent 값을 구하기 위해 캐패시터의 dissipation factor를 분석하였다. 캐패시터의 dissipation factor는 dielectric loss, AC 저항에 의한 loss, DC 저항에 의한 loss를 포함한다, DC 저항에 의한 loss는 dissipation factor에 차지하는 비율이 낮기 때문에 생략이 가능하다. 하지만 AC 저항에 의한 loss는 주파수에 비례하여 값이 커지게 된다. 따라서 주파수가 올라 갈수록 dissipation factor도 상승하게 되는데 주파수의 전 대역에서 AC 저항에 의한 loss를 보정해주면 dielectric loss를 얻을 수 있다. 추출된 dielectric loss를 통해 PI 기판의 loss tangent 값을 구하였다. 캐패시터를 이용한 PI 기판의 전기적 특성 추출은 간단한 구조를 통해 얻을 수 있기 때문에 다른 재료의 기판의 전기적 특성을 추출하는데도 이용이 용이하다.

  • In this paper, a program that can be utilized to measure and analyze radio propagation characteristics is developed. This program is able to control the measurement instruments including spectrum analyzer through GPIB interface and analyze the measured data to yield mean excess delay and RMS delay spread. The measured path loss can be compared with theoretical value in free space or inside a tunnel. The measured and analyzed results can also be presented in the forms of graphs. As these tasks can be conducted on the spot of the measurements, this program is very helpful in performing and verifying the measurements immediately. In this thesis radio propagation characteristics with frequency bands of 2.45 and 5.8GHz in subway tunnels are measured by using the program. Path loss and delay spread in subway tunnel is measured and compared according to the form of antenna beam and LOS(Line of Sight) and N-LOS(Non-Line of Sight).

  • There were many theories to suggest the indicators that evaluate stability and reflect the plan in mixed traffic street in all traffic modes This Paper analyzed residential street of Suwon City adopting time-space occupancy index among these indicates. Three survey street. congregated into apartment house. were selected to analyze this and pictured by video camera over one hour. and the length of these street were 76m, 55m, and 34m each, and major street by each region, comparably high in Pedestrians and pass vehicles, were selected. Basic datum to calculate time-space occupancy index and time-space occupancy index per person was gathered through video analysis. i.e Parameters for pedestrians, cars, bicycles, average speed of bicycles, and parking car. There are some limitation to analyze LOS of mixed traffic street in all traffic modes, not pedestrian mall. Therefore this paper presented evaluation standard of LOS. In conclusion. the aim of this paper is to suggest modeling based on guidelines for evaluating LOS of mixed traffic street in all traffic modes. It is estimated that this will be influencing indicates for improving pedestrian environment, and Planning mixed traffic street in future.

Patient Management Through Simulation Modeling in the Medical Center (시뮬레이션 기법을 이용한 검진센터의 환자관리방안)

  • This study aims to develop the methods for effective patient flow in the medical center through simulation modeling. To achieve this, we developed three simulation scenarios based on max/min processing time and addition of X-ray by 15 patient tracks from real hospital data. The simulation software used in this study is Flexsim HC 2.7. According to the scenario 1 on 15 patient tracks' LOS by max processing time, there is a great difference between average length of stay(LOS) and max LOS. And average LOS increases greatly depending on the number of patients by the hours. There is no need to add extra X-ray because the addition of X-ray has not much influence in average LOS. It is possible to make good decisions on patient flow management and medical equipment purchasing through simulation modeling. The concrete simulation scenario as a tool for decision support will contribute to efficiency in hospital management.
