  • Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) is designed to provide network-based mobility management support to an MN without any involvement of the MN in the mobility related signalling, hence, the proxy mobility entity performs all related signalling on behalf of the MN. The new principal functional entities of PMIPv6 are the local mobility anchor (LMA) and the mobile access gateway (MAG). In PMIPv6, all the data traffic sent from the MN gets routed to the LMA through a tunnel between the LMA and the MAG, but it still has the single point of failure (SPOF) and bottleneck state of traffic. To solve these problems, various approaches directed towards PMIPv6 performance improvements such as route optimization proposed. But these approaches add additional signalling to support MN's mobility, which incurs extra network overhead and still has difficult to apply to multiple-LMA networks. In this paper, we propose a improved route optimization in PMIPv6-based multiple-LMA networks. All LMA connected to the proxy internetworking gateway (PIG), which performs inter-domain distributed mobility control. And, each MAG keeps the information of all LMA in PMIPv6 domain, so it is possible to perform fast route optimization. Therefore, it supports route optimization without any additional signalling because the LMA receives the state information of route optimization from PIG.

  • Molten Core Concrete Interaction (MCCI) is a complex process characterized by concrete ablation and volatile generation; Thermal and solutal convection in a bubble-agitated melt; Physico-chemical evolution of the corium pool with a wide solidification range (of the order of 1000 K). Twelve experiments have been carried out in the VULCANO facility with prototypic corium and sustained heating. The dry oxidic corium tests have contributed to show that silica-rich concrete experience an anisotropic ablation. This unexpected ablation pattern is quite reproducible and can be recalculated, provided an empirical anisotropy factor is assumed. Dry tests with oxide and metal liquid phases have also yielded unexpected results: a larger than expected steel oxidation and unexpected topology of the metallic phase (at the bottom of the cavity and also on the vertical concrete walls). Finally, VULCANO has proved its interest for the study of mitigation solutions such as the COMET bottom flooding core catcher.

  • A total of 6,804 records for Duroc breed were collected from three farms registered at the Korean Animal Improvement Association (KAIA) from 1998 to 2004 of which both records from two ultrasound modes (A and B) were analyzed to estimate the variance components of carcass traits. Three carcass traits backfat thickness (bf), loin eye muscle area (lma) and lean meat percentage (lmp) were measured. These traits were analyzed separately as bf1, lma1 and lmp1 for ultrasound mode A and bf2, lma2 and lmp2 for ultrasound mode B with multiple trait animal model by using MTDFREML (Boldman et al., 1993). All the traits revealed medium heritability values. Estimated heritabilities for bf1, bf2, lma1, lma2, lmp1 and lmp2 were 0.45, 0.39, 0.32, 0.25, 0.28 and 0.39, respectively. Estimated genetic correlations for traits bf1 and bf2, lma1 and lma2, lmp1 and lmp2 were positive but low. Specifically, genetic correlations between bf1 and bf2 was 0.30 while the estimates for lean traits between lma1 and lma2 and between lmp1 and lmp2 were 0.15 and 0.18, respectively. Conversely, high negative genetic correlations existed between bf1 and the lean traits lma2, lmp2. Likewise, the estimated genetic correlations between lma1 and lma2 and lmp1 and lmp2 were low.

  • Mobile communication traffic is changing from voice to data/internet, e.g. wireless internet access, SMS/MMS. more and more. Therefore many data services are coming out over 3G, Mobile WiMAX(WIBRO), LTE etc. Wireless internet market is growing and MIPv6 is more important and many protocols being studied and developed from MIPv6 to Fast MIPv6, Hierachical MIPv6, Proxy MIPv6, etc. The significant factor over MIPv6 is Hand-over latency and Packet-loss PMIPv6 is efficient for reducing mobility related messages and hand-over latency, but it considers single LMA domain. If mobile node is moving inter-LMAs, hand-over delay time affects the real-time communications. To overcome this hand-over delay, we propose present and new enhanced schemes and analize the performance and show the results.

  • Purpose of this study was to compare the easiness of insertion of three Supraglottic airway devices(SADs) in a neutral and cervical neck collar position in a manikin setting. Three different SADs-Laryngeal Mask Classic (LMA), I-gel and Streamlined Liner of the Pharynx Airway(SLIPA) were applied. Thirty nine emergency medical technicians (EMTs) who are working in Korea 119 rescue services were taught briefly about the use of the LMA, I-gel and SLIPA in a manikin setting. The time to effective ventilation was shorter in I-gel ($10.5{\pm}2.2$, $11.4{\pm}5.7$) and SLIPA ($12.3 {\pm}5.1$, $12.0{\pm}6.8$) than LMA ($17.2{\pm}3.2$, $18.5{\pm}5.5$) in a neutral and cervical neck collar position, respectively(p<0.05). There was no difference between head positions in each of the airways. In conclusion, in the speed of insertion, I-gel and SLIPA were superior to LMA in the neutral and cervical collar setting of a manikin.

  • Mobile users want to be provided with undisrupted network services when they navigate on the Next-Generation (NG) wireless networks. For that, interlocking with a heterogeneous network is important, but there have been few studies on the method for guaranteeing global mobility. Thus, this paper proposes the Proxy-LMA technique, the mobile IP-based global inter-networking system, to enhance global mobility and interoperability within the Next-Generation (NG) network environment. The purpose of the proposed Proxy-LMA system is to expand the boundary of the mobility with regards to the existing mobility management protocol (PMIPv6 and MIPv6) in order to guarantee global mobility and interoperability within the heterogeneous network environment. The results of the performance evaluation showed that the proposed Proxy-LMA system was more efficient than other methods from the standpoint of signaling cost and delay in the heterogeneous network environment.

  • A laryngeal mask airway (LMA) has many advantages in the management of airway emergencies or the treatment of patients in whom intubation is difficult, but the use of LMA during positive ventilation may seem inappropriate to protect the airway because of the risk of pulmonary aspiration of regurgitated gastric contents. We experienced aspiration pneumonia after general anesthesia using LMA in patient who suffered from panperitonitis. It is considered that the main reason for aspiration pneumonia was a leakage of gastric content through the space surrounding the nasogastric tube while under high airway inflation pressure. We concluded that when LMA or the Proseal laryngeal mask airway (PLMA) is chosen for the use in difficult intubations, careful patient-suitability selection and the correct knowledge of LMA and PLMA are needed to protect the airway against aspiration.

  • The permittivity distribution of a two-dimensional high-contrast object with large size, which leads to the global minimum of cost function, is reconstructed by iteratively using the hybrid algorithm of Levenberg-magquardt algorithm(LMA) plus Genetic Algorithm(GA). The scattered fields calculated in a cost function are expanded in angular spectral modes, of which only effective propagating modes are used. The definition of cost function based on the effective propagating modes enables us to formulate the minimum number of incident waves for the reconstruction of object. It is numerically shown that LMA has an advantage of fast convergence but can't reconstruct a high-contrast object with large size and GA can reconstruct a high-contrast object with large size but has an disadvantage of slow convergence, whereas an inverse scattering technique using the hybrid algorithm adopts only advantages of LMA and GA.
