This study investigated the clinical effectiveness and safety of sealed bleaching compared to conventional in-office bleaching using a randomized clinical trial of split arch design. Ten participants received a chairside bleaching treatment on the upper anterior teeth, and each side was randomly designated as sealed or control side. A mixture of Brite powder (PacDent, Walnut, USA), 3% hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide (KoolWhite, PacDent, Walnut, USA) were used as bleaching agent. The control side was unwrapped and the experimental side was covered with a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) wrap for sealed bleaching. The bleaching gel was light activated for 1 hour. The tooth shades were evaluated before treatment, after treatment, and at one week check up by means of a visual shade (VS) assessment using a value oriented shade guide and a computer assisted shade assessment using a spectrophotometer (SP). The data were analyzed by paired t-test. In the control and sealed groups, the visual shade scores after bleaching treatment and at check up showed statistically significant difference from the preoperative shade scores (p<.05). The shade scores of the sealed group were significantly lighter than the control immediately after bleaching and at the check-up appointment (p<0.05). Compared to prebleaching status, the ${\Delta}E$ values at post bleaching condition were $4.35{\pm}1.38\;and\;5.08{\pm}1.34$ for the control and sealed groups, respectively. The ${\Delta}E$ values at check up were $3.73{\pm}1.95\;and\;4.38{\pm}2.08$ for the control and sealed groups. ${\Delta}E$ values were greater for the sealed group both after bleaching (p<.05) and at check up (p<.05). In conclusion, both ${\Delta}E$ and shade score changes were greater for the sealed bleaching group than the conventional bleaching group, effectively demonstrating the improvement of effectiveness through sealing.
The relationships among mechanical properties, rheological properties, and morphology by reactive extrusion based on commingled pckaging film wastes contains polypropylene (PP) pckaging film system [PP/polyethylene (PE)/aluminum (Al)/poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET)] and Nylon packaging film system[Nylon/PE/linear-low density polyethylene (LLDPE)] were investigated to improve the compatibility and toughness of these wastes using various compatibilizers such as ethylene vinylacetate (EVA), styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene triblock copolymer (SEBS), styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene-graft-maleic anhydride copolymer (SEBS-g-MA), polyethylene-graft-maleic anhydride (PE-g-MA), polypropylene-graft-maleic anhydride (PP-g-MA) , polyethylene-graft-acrylic acid (PE-g-AA) and polypropylene-graft-acrylic acid (PP-g-AA). Compared with simple melt blend system, the blends showed improvement of about $50\%$ increase in physical properties when SEBS and EVA were added. However, SEBS-g-MA thermoplastic elastomer which is highly reactive with amine terminal group of nylon, resulted in about $200\%$ increase in impact strength. This compatibilization effect resulted from the increase of interfacial adhesion and the reduction of domain size of dispersed phase in PP/Nylon blend system.
To investigate the effects of functional MA films (FMA) masterbatched by zeolite powder treated with 1 N HCl, 0.5 N NaCl solution and anti-fogging agent (NA) compared with control on the freshness extension of 'Fuji' apples during storage at $15^{\circ}C$. Preference, weight loss, total ascorbic acid, sugar content, acidity, change of gas composition in package were measured. After 150 days of storage, the weight loss of control (L) apples was 1%, that of apple in FMA film (NA) was 1.5% after 150 days. Total ascorbic acid content of apples in control (L) after 150 days was 2.09 mg%, those of apple in FMA film (NA) was 2.72 mg%. The titratable acidity of apple in FMA film was higher than that in control, while soluble solids content of apples in FMA film was lower than that in control after 150 days. Ethylene gas adsorbability in control was 192.2 ppm and those in FMA film was 141.4 ppm after 150 days. Overall, apples in FMA film was better than that of control. It was verified that apples packed with LLDPE film (control) lasted about 130days, while those with FMA films lasted about 170 days. Also, FMA films treated with anti-fogging agent few different compare to nontreated film, but commerdity on the display in market was considered higher than that of non-treated anti-fogging agent.
The silane crosslinking method was applied for the crosslinking of polyethylene (PE). Crosslinking of PE was performed by, first grafting vinyltrimethoxysilane(VTMOS) to the main chain of PE using an extruder at $200{\sim}210^{\circ}C$, followed by exposure to three different silane crosslinking conditions (1. immersed in $80^{\circ}C$ water, 2. at $80^{\circ}C$ air forced convection oven, 3. exposed to air at room temperature ). The thermal characteristic changes of PE resins with respect to the silane crosslinking conditions were studied by measuring the crystalline melting temperature, density and crosslinking reaction rate. Because silane crosslinking was carried out at solid state, crystalline melting temperature, crystallinity, crystal growth rate, crosslinking reaction rate and the change in the density of silane crosslinked PE were affected by crosslinking condition and the type of base resin. The properties of silane crosslinked PE were different from those of Peroxide crosslinked PE which was crosslinked at the molten state. It was found, from the result of DSC analysis, that silane crosslinked linear low density polyethylene(LLDPE) crosslinked at room temperature had no secondary melting peak because the crosslinking reaction proceeds slowly as the crystalline grows. After crystallization, the melting point of PE was lowered by crystalline interruption of crosslinked site.

Heterogeneous cation exchange membrane(HCEM) was prepared with LLDPE(Linear Low Density Poly-ethylene) as binder, powdered cation exchange resins($diameter{\leq}149{\mu}m$) as ion-exchange material and glycerol as additive for electrodialysis and electrodeionization system. The weight ratio of (binder/ion exchange)/glycerol was (60%/40%)/5%, (55%/45%)/5%, (50%/50%)/5% and (40%/60%)/5%. The characterization of prepared HCEM was evaluated on mechanical, electrochemical, morphology and ion permeable properties. It was compared with commercial membrane. Electrochemical properties of HCEM of (50%/50% )/5% were very similar to value of IONPURE(commercial membrane), in which ion exchange capacity, ion transfer number and membrane resistance were to be 1.733meq/g, 0.96 and $16.08{\Omega}/cm^2$, respectively. Ion permeability of the membrane was better than that of IONPURE membrane. Compared with IONPURE membrane, the HCEM had a higher tensile strength and lower elongation and modulus, in which HCEM had tensile strength of $62.33kg/cm^2$, elongation of 87.42% and modulus of $658.53kg/cm^2$. The HCEM of (50%/50% )15% was optimum combination.
Mulching film was produced by LDPE and LLDPE adding biomass byproducts and MA(maleic anhydride), talc/clay/CaO/CaCO3. And also surveyed to tensile strength, elongation, TGA and DSC according to the UV irradiation time. The tensile strength and elongation showed 20 N/cm2 and 5% after UV irradiation 100 hours, and those was nearly 0 N/cm2 and 0% after 200 hours, respectively. TGA of film was showed to peak of polymer itself, and DSC was slightly higher than that of initial value. At the pilot scale test, we were able to see the differentiate of degradation between control and developed film after 12 weeks, and also torn off at several part of mulching film. The degradation of mulching film after growing corn showed similar to a pilot scale test. Above the results, the developed mulching film adding biomass will be to used for agricultural farming.
Ethylene-1-butene copolymers were prepared with $SiO_2$-supported $TiCl_4$ catalyst by changing of 1-butene/ethylene molar ratio in feed, and the resulting copolymers were analyzed using temperature rising elution fractionation (TREF) and crystallization fractionation (Crystaf) methods to investigated the influence of $C_4/C_2$ molar ratio in feed on chemical compositional distribution and other parameters such as molecular weight and its distribution. TREF analysis showed that the copolymers had a broad and bimodal chemical compositional distribution (CCD) regardless of the content of 1-butene in the copolymer. The chemical composition was in the range of 5 to 55 branches per 1,000 carbons for all copolymers prepared in the study. Furthermore, the broader CCD was revealed for the copolymers having the higher content of 1-butene. Crystaf analysis did not showed a bimodal CCD for the copolymers having the 1-butene content of less than 5.1 wt%. The lower crytalline part having 1-butene content in Crystaf analysis was less than of TREF analysis.
The objective of this study consists in finding the ways to make soybean cake (which is made of soaked soybean flour containing protein and lipid) a scientific and practical food even more easily. This study took a measurement of the change of pH, organic acid, microorganism, retrogradation and so soon. observing soybean cake prepared with soybean flour containing 6% of soybean oil at room temperature(19$^{\circ}C$) in two types of packaging, that is to say, $CO_2$ modified packing(CMP) and liner low density poly ethylene(LLDPE) packaging. As storing time went by, packed soybean cake didn't appeared in 12 days, either. Using modified atmosphere packaging soybean cake showed higer pH as well as less organic acid than unpacked. In addition, mould method makes water - activity lower, and it Puts a curb on the development of aerobic perishable microorganism and the retrogradation of rice cake. Unpacked soybean cake showed higher values than CMP Soybean Cake with enthalpy of retrogradation and the longer storing period the greater retrogradation process. Thus, storing or circulation period can be increased effectively without chemical or physical treatment.
In 1990's the Korean polyolefin industry boomed up through the development of magnificient polymerization catalysts. To understand the general situation of polymerization catalyst R & D, the various experimental results had been summarized for the investigation of not only the supported Ziegler-Natta catalyst used presently in polyolefin industry but also the metallocene catalysts applied for the preparation of special grade of polyolefin. In addition, it had been shown that the new polymeric materials were prepared by new developed catalyst, and the polymer in-situ nanocomposites could be obtained with the application of catalyst heterogenization procedures.

Heterogeneous cation exchange membrane consisting of cation exchange resin particles (diameter of less than $149{\mu}$) which are finely dispersed in a polyethylene matrix, were produced as forms of sheet. The characteristics were measured after treating hot water or saturated sodium chloride. When membranes were treated with hot water or saturated sodium chloride, cation exchange resin particles swell and expand pushing away the polyethylene matrix of membranes. The above treatment results the formation of narrow cavities between a cation exchange resin particles and polyethylene matrix, and the formation of fine micro-cracks on the polyethylene matrix. Thus, we were obtained good physical and electrochemical properties. On the treatment with hot water or saturated sodium chloride, the optimum conditions for good heterogeneous cation exchange membrane were treatment time of 30min and treatment temperature of $90^{\circ}C$.
