During the industrial plant system life cycle, required technologies are developed and assessed to analyze their performance, risks and costs. The assessment is called technology readiness assessment (TRA) and the measure of readiness is called technology readiness level (TRL). The TRL consists of 9 levels and through the TRL assessment, the technology to be developed and its components are assigned to their appropriate TRL. TRL assessment should be performed in each life cycle stages to monitor the technology readiness and analyze the potential risks and costs. However, even though the concept of TRL has been largely adopted by numerous organizations and industry, direct and clear assignment of target TRL for each life cycle stage has been overlooked. Direct mapping/assignment of target TRL for each life cycle has benefits as follow: (1) the technical risks condition of each life cycle stage can be better understood, (2) cost incurred if the technology development is failed can be analyzed in each life cycle stage, and (3) more effective decision making because the technology readiness achievement for each life cycle stages is agreed beforehand. In this paper, we propose a steel-making plant system life cycle and TRL assignment to each of the system life cycle stage. By directly assigning target TRL for each life cycle stages, we look forward to a more coordinated (in terms of exit criteria) and highly effective (in terms of technical risks identification and eventually prevent project failure) technology development and assessment processes.
Background : The Life cycle Health Promotion Programs using Traditional Korean Medicine (the Life cycle HaPPs-TKM) are the on-going 3rd stage projects that have centered on the development and dissemination of the standard life cycle HaPPs-TKM in the local community. The purpose of the study was to introduce the development background of the standard life cycle HaPPs-TKM and to suggest its activation plan. Methods : Academic and government research reports on the life cycle HaPPs-TKM were analyzed to introduce the development process, development backgrounds and the details of KM-HPP for each life cycle, such as infants and toddlers, adolescents, pregnant women, adults and the elderly. Results : We reviewed the development process of the standard life cycle HaPP-TKM consisted of a series of diagnosis on community members' health problems, establishment of project purpose, research on the involvement of KM intervention in a project, and final development of the project model. And we rediscovered that in the development backgrounds of KM-HPP, there were beneficial goals to manage and promote public health conditions for each life cycle. Conclusion : To activate life cycle HaPPs-TKM, we would recommend that activation plan should include six factors through systematic analysis of research reports. These factors consist of diversified goals for each life-cycle, competency reinforcement of local project manager, diversified Korean Medicinal modalities to enhance Sasang Constitution and Qigong, development of standard Outcome Index, periodical holding of performance contest, and improved guidance of government and associated entities through whole process of HaPP-TKM.
This paper propose a method determining life cycle for military vehicle using availability analysis. Many studies determining life cycle for military equipments have been done recently However, those studies focused on economic life such as average system cost method, equivalent annual cost method and cumulative operations cost method. In many case, those results are not appropriate in deciding replacement in the field situation, we consider an effective life cycle method using availability concept. In order to determine an equipment life cycle. Two kinds of availability is considered. One is equipment yearly availability, the other is operational availability with operating distance per year. The life cycle is determined by achieving unit target availability level. The result using this concept for K511 military vehicle life cycle is about 19 years, which is longer than previous studies.
The environment has played a key role to improve the living condition and develop the industry. In building industries, we should consider the environment and mitigate the environmental affect. For mitigating the its affect, various areas of building technology have been developed and applied into filed work. In addition, the process in applying into field requires to conduct the assessment of the environmental affect and improve its applied technology. A lot of assessment methods are proposed in evaluate the building condition such as post-occupancy evaluation, life cycle management and life cycle assessment. Among these assessment methods, life cycle assessment is effectively utilized the environmental affect in building life cycle. Therefore, this paper aimed at analyzing the energy consumption and $CO_2$ emission in building life cycle, using the life cycle assessment and application of the example in apartment housing. This study shows that the maintenance and the production of building materials stage shares most of the amount of energy consumption and $CO_2$ emission and therefore plays an important role to planning the building in terms of the life cycle. Second, the other stages brings about a very small amount. It is important to decide the building shape and contents to mitigate the environmental affect in terms of material, volume, the pattern of the energy use and others.
As a government agency or the Government-donated Research Institute or industrial research institute is intended to develop a product or to construct a system such as a railway safety systems by research and development process, a life cycle model leading a product development or a research and development is essential to them to systematically and effectively progress it. In this paper, the refined life cycle model to effectively conduct the national railway safety project consists of the life cycle phases and their detail descriptions with reference to other life cycle model in the international standard and the other national guidance and other industrial domain such as ship-building, weapon system, and aerospace areas, the proposed life cycle model in the paper considerably reflects the characteristics of the traditional research and development project in railway safety domain. A guidance of a life cycle model which based on lots of the life cycle model in other domains proposes additionally.
Low cycle fatigue characteristics of cast aluminum alloy A356 with a yield strength and ultimate strength of 229 and 283 MPa respectively was evaluated using smooth axial specimen under strain controlled condition. Reversals to failure ranged from 16 to 107. The cast aluminum alloy exhibited cyclically strain-gardening behavior. The results of low cycle fatigue tests indicated that the conventional low cycle fatigue tests indicated that the conventional low cycle fatigue life model was not a satisfactory representation of the data. This occurred because the elastic strain-life curve was not-log-log linear and this phenomena caused a nonconservative and unsafe fatigue life prediction at both extremes of long and short lives. A linear log-log total strain-life model and a bilinear log-log elastic strain-life model were proposed in order to improve the representation of data compared to the conventional low cycle fatigue life model. Both proposed fatigue life models were statistically analyzed using F tests and successfully satisfied. However, the low cycle fatigue life model generated by the bilinear log-log elastic strain-life equation yielded a discontinuous curve with nonconservatism in the region of discontinuity. Among the models examined, the linear log-log total strain-life model provided the best representation of the low cycle fatigue data. Low cycle fatigue life prediction method based on the local strain approach could conveniently incorporated both proposed fatigue life models.

Today, the population of cycle participants is consistently increasing. Cycling is becoming not only a form of physical exercise but also a form of tourism in which cycle activities are related to visiting a particular destination. With the perspective of participation sport tourism, the purpose of this study is to investigate how the level of cycle tourists' participation affects their quality of life. An online survey link was sent to cycle participants to collect data. Out of the total 337 respondents, a total of 226 samples were used for the final analysis, disregarding those that were found to be inadequate or unreliable. For data analysis, frequency analysis, reliability test, validity, correlations, and regressions were employed with SPSS 22.0. For our first result, we found that the level of cycle participation did not significantly affect the quality of physical life. Second, the level of cycle participation did not have significant effect on the quality of mental life. Third, the level of cycle participation behavior did not have a significant effect on the quality of social life. Fourth, the level of cycle participation behavior did not have a significant effect on the quality of environmental life. Conclusions and political implications are discussed.
The purpose of this study is based on the optimize the system life cycle cost apply to the advanced systems engineering techniques consideration thought to the system life cycle for the power system which is the one of the major component of the light rail transit system. Generally, the systems engineering techniques apply to the LRT's power systems are not optimize the whole life cycle cost of the power systems because systems engineering management activities are concentrate in performing the key-technology oriented at the construction stage of the dedicated power systems for light rail transit. Through this study, All the stakeholders can be utilize a this advanced systems engineering techniques which is fully considered the life cycle cost through the considering in whole system life cycle (such as concept, design, operation, maintenance and dispose stage as well as construction stage) and adopted by KSX ISO/IEC 15288 system life cycle processes.
Water supply and sewerage systems are the large-scale urban infrastructure ejecting large amount of environmental load over the life-cycle. Therefore, it is important not only to optimize in the aspect of economical superiority and process efficiency but also to consider earth scale environmental impact. This study aimed to suggest the establishment of life cycle management(LCM) system as an integrated management solution in urban water supply and sewerage systems. As a result, the methodology for LCM system consisting of life cycle assessment(LCA), life cycle cost(LCC), life cycle $CO_{2}(LCCO_{2})$ and life cycle energy(LCE) was developed. Also, several case studies using the latest statistics data of water supply and sewerage systems were carried out to investigate the field applicability of LCM.
In this paper, we proposed the technique to estimate the life cycle of Internet content services based on the logistic regression model. In this paper, to define parameters of Internet contents estimating life cycle by logistic regression model, we used market size, traffic amount, page view and session-visit number as the parameters of Internet contents estimating life cycle by logistic regression model. In this paper, to compare the performance of our proposed scheme, we estimated life cycle for the download services of bell sound & character contents in mobile network. As a result, using our proposed logistic regression, we were able to estimate exactly the life cycle of the download services of bell sound & character contents.
