  • This paper presents the design and implementation of embedded systems and autonomous path generation for autonomous speed sprayer. Autonomous Orchard Systems can be divided into embedded controller and path generation module. Embedded controller receives analog sensor data, on/off switch data and control linear actuator, break, clutch and steering module. In path generation part, we get 3D cloud point using Velodyne VLP16 LIDAR sensor and process the point cloud to generate maps, do localization, generate driving path. Then, it finally generates velocity and rotation angle in real time, and sends the data to embedded controller. Embedded controller controls steering wheel based on the received data. The developed autonomous speed sprayer is verified in test-bed with apple tree-shaped artworks.

  • A balloon-borne Optical Particle Counter (hereafter "OPC Sonde"), which was developed by the atmospheric research group of Nagoya University, is used for getting the information of vertical profile of particle size and concentration in Anmyeon ($36^{\circ}32^{\prime}N$ $126^{\circ}19^{\prime}E$) on 18 March 2005. A range of five different particle sizes is shown in the vertical profile of aerosol number density estimated from the OPC Sonde. It was found that small size particles have vertically larger aerosol number density than relatively big ones. For all size ranges the vertical aerosol number density shows a decreased pattern as the altitude becomes higher. The aerosol number density of $0.3{\sim}0.5{\mu}m$, $0.5{\sim}0.8{\mu}m$, $0.8{\sim}1.2{\mu}m$ size ranges at the 10km height, which is the tropopause approximately, are $1,000,000ea/m^3$, $100,000ea/m^3$, $10,000ea/m^3$ respectively. The data of OPC Sonde are also compared with the data of PM10 $\beta$-ray) and Micro Pulse Lidar which are operating at Korea Global Atmosphere Watch Observatory in Anmyeon.

  • Over the years, many researches have been performed to create 3D digital maps. Nevertheless, it is still time-consuming and involves a high cost because a large part of 3D digital mapping is conducted manually. To compensate this limitation, we propose methodologies to represent 3D objects as 3D symbols and locate these symbols into a base map automatically. First of all, we constructed the 3D symbol library to represent 3D objects as 3D symbols. In the 3D symbol library, the attribute and geometry information are stored, which defines factors related to the types of symbols and related to the shapes respectively. These factors were used to match 3D objects and 3D symbols. For automatic mapping of 3D symbols into a base map, we used predefined parameters such as the size, the height, the rotation angle and the center of gravity of 3D objects which are extracted from Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) data and 2D digital maps. Finally, the 3D map in urban area was constructed and the mapping results were tested using aerial photos as reference data. Through this research, we can identify that the developed the algorithms can be used as effective techniques for 3D digital cartographic techniques

  • Efficient 3D generation of cultural features, such as buildings in urban area is becoming increasingly important for a number of GIS applications. For reconstruction or 3D building in urban area aerial images, satellite images, LIDAR data have been used mainly. In case of automatically extracting and reconstructing of building height using single aerial images or single satellite images, there are a lot of problems, such as mismatching that result from a geometric distortion of optical images. Therefore, researches or integrating optical images and existing 2D GIS data(e.g. digital map) has been in progress. In this paper, we focused on extracting of building height by means or interest points and vortical line locus for reducing matching points. Also we used digital plotter in order to validate for the results in this study using aerial images(1/5,000) and existing digital map(1/1,000).

  • Vertical distributions of aerosol mass concentrations over Seoul and Gangneung from January to February 2015 were investigated using aerosol Mie-scattering lidars. Vertical mass concentration of aerosol was calculated from the lidar data using KALION's algorithm and quantitatively compared with ground PM10 concentration to obtain objectivity of data. The backward trajectories calculated using HYSPLIT (version 4) were clustered into 5 traces for Seoul and 6 traces for Gangneung, and the observed aerosol vertical mass distribution was analyzed for individual trajectories. Result from the analysis shows that, aerosol concentrations with in the planetary boundary layer were highest when airflows into the measurement points originated in the Shandong Peninsula or the Inner Mongolia. In addition, the difference of aerosol mass concentrations in the two regions below 1 km was about twice as large as that in the long range transport from the Shandong Peninsula compared to the local emission. This result shows that the air quality over Korea related to particulate matters are affected more by aerosol emissions in the upstream source regions and the associated transboundary transports than local emissions. This study also suggests that the use of local aerosol observations is critical for accurate simulations of aerosol-cloud interactions.

  • The building heights of big cities which charged with most space are 3-D information as relative vertical distance from ground control points, but they didn't know the heights using contour with maps as lose of skyline or building heights for downtown, practically continuously developed of many technology methods for implementation of 3-D spatial earth. So, For the view as stereos of variety earth form generated 3-D spatial and made terrain perspective map, 3-D simulated of regional and urban space as aviation images. In this papers, it composited geospatial informations and images by DEM generation, and developed and presented for techniques overlay of CAD data and photos captured at our surroundings uses. Particularly, The airborne LiDAR surveying which are very interesting trend have laser scanning sensor and determine the ground heights through detecting angle and range to the grounds, and then designated 3-D spatial composite and simulation from urban areas. Therefore in this papers are suggested ease selections on the users situation by compare as various simulations that its generation of 3-D spatial image by collective for downtown space and urban sub, and the implementation methods for more accurate, more select for the best images.

  • CCTV is mainly used as a real-time detection system for critical facilities. In the case of CCTV, although the accuracy is high, the viewing angle is narrow, so it is used in combination with a sensor such as a radar. LiDAR is a technology that acquires distance information by detecting the time it takes to reflect off an object using a high-power pulsed laser. In the case of lidar, there is a problem in that the utilization is not high in terms of cost and technology due to the limitation of the number of simultaneous processing sensors in the server due to the data throughput. The detection method by the optical mesh sensor is also vulnerable to strong winds and extreme cold, and there is a problem of maintenance due to damage to animals. In this paper, by using the 1550nm wavelength band instead of the 905nm wavelength band used in the existing lidar sensor, the effect on the weather environment is strong and we propose to develop a system that can integrate and control multiple sensors.

  • This paper introduces a system that can help visually impaired people to board a bus using an embedded board with keypad, dot matrix, lidar sensor, NFC reader, a public data portal Open API system, and deep learning algorithm (YOLOv5). The user inputs the desired bus number through the NFC reader and keypad, and then obtains the location and expected arrival time information of the bus through the Open API real-time data through the voice output entered into the system. In addition, by displaying the bus number as the dot matrix, it can help the bus driver to wait for the visually impaired, and at the same time, a deep learning algorithm (YOLOv5) recognizes the bus number that stops in real time and detects the distance to the bus with a distance detection sensor such as lidar sensor.

  • The real world is spatially modelled conceptually either as discrete objects or earth surface. The generated data models are then usually represented as vector and raster respectively. Although there are limited cases where only one data model is sufficient to solve the spatial problem at hand, it is now generally accepted that GIS should be able to handle various types of data model. Recent advances in spatial technology introduced even more variety of heterogeneous data models and the need is ever growing to handle and manage efficiently these large variety of spatial data. The OGC (Open GIS Consortium), an international organization pursuing standardization in the geospatial industry. recently introduced the GMLJP2 (Geographic Mark-Up Language JP2) format which enables store and handle heterogeneous spatial data. The GMLJP2 format, which is based on the JP2 format which is an abbreviation for JPEG2000 wavelet image compression format, takes advantage of the versatility of the GML capabilities to add extra data on top of the compressed image. This study takes a close look into the GMLJP2 format to analyse and exploit its potential to handle and mange hetergeneous spatial data. Aerial image, digital map and LIDAR data were successfully transformed end archived into a single GMLJP2 file. A simple viewing program was made to view the heterogeneous spatial data from this single file.
