  • $LiMO_{2}(M=Co,Ni)$ samples were synthesized with $Li_{2}CO_{3},\;Co_{3}O_{4}$, and NiO by the solid-state reaction method. In the case of $LiCoO_{2}$, at low temperature$(T=400^{\circ}C)$ spinel structure was synthesized and the obtained spinel phase was transformed to layered phase at high temperature$(T\ge600^{\circ}C)$. The phase transition behaviors of $LiCoO_{2}$ were investigated with various heating temperature and time. The rate of transition was directly proportional to the concentrations of reactant, and activation energy of reaction was around 6.76 kcal/mol. When CoO(rock salt structure) was used as a starting material instead of $Co_{3}O_{4}$(spinel structure), layered structure of $LiCoO_{2}$ was obtained at low temperature. In the case of $LiNiO_{2}$ the transition from layered structure to rock salt structure occurred easily by disordering/ordering reaction, but did not occur in $LiCoO_{2}$. The difference in metal ion radii in $LiCoO_{2}$ and $LiNiO_{2}$ results in different behaviors of phase transitions.

  • The purpose of this study was to estimate that the relations of weathering speed and shear strength of granite soil by tracing the weathering depth of granite soil from the very moment of its cutting. The results obtained this follows ; 1) The relationships among Nc, Li and CEC, Li>6%, CEC>14 corresponds to Nc=2~30, and 4%${\phi}$)increases at a standard pressure. 3) And Nc=0~50 corresponds to $27{\sim}50^{\circ}$ of internal fiction angle and to 12~49kPa of cohesion. That is to say, internal friction angle(${\phi}$)corresponds better than cohesion(c). In conclusion, this study suggests that in simplified dynamic cone penetration test a penetration boundary line of 5 centimeters is decided at around Li=4%, CEC=3(meq/100g) which is classified as a completely weathering soil. It also appears that CEC increases as Li increases while Nc decreases.

  • New gas mixtures are now finding applications such as interrupting media for high-voltage circuit breakers. These mixtures consist of a high content of carbon tetrafluoride($CF_4$) added to sulfur hexafluoride($SF_6$). Nowdays $SF_6$ has been established for the use in gas insulated substations due to its high insulation withstand level and good arc quenching capability. At this paper Breakdown characteristics were investigated for $SF_6/CF_4$ mixtures when AC voltage and standard lightning impulse voltage(LI) was applied in a needle-plane electrodes. And partial discharge(PD) experiments were carried out in the test chamber which was made in needle-plane electrode. And ${\Phi}$-Q-N distribution of partial discharge signals was analyzed. The total pressure of the $SF_6/CF_4$ mixtures was varied within the range of 0.1-0.5 Mpa in the test chamber. The breakdown voltage in needle-plane electrode displayed N shape characteristics for increasing the content of $SF_6$ at positive impulse voltage and the PD inception voltage was increased slightly when pressure of $SF_6/CF_4$ Mixtures was increased. Maximum PD inception voltage is showed in 80% SF6/20%$CF_4$.

  • In order to investigate the characteristics of unsteady flow in a mixed flow pump guide vane under the small flow conditions, several indicator points in a mixed flow pump guide vane was set, the three-dimensional unsteady turbulence numerical value of the mixed flow pump which is in the whole flow field will be calculated by means of the large eddy simulation (LES), sub-grid scale model and sliding mesh technology. The experimental results suggest that the large eddy simulation can estimate the positive slope characteristic of head & capacity curve. And the calculation results show that the pressure fluctuation coefficients of the middle section in guide vane inlet will decrease firstly and then increase. In guide vane outlet, the pressure fluctuation coefficients of section will be approximately axially symmetrical distribution. The pressure fluctuation minimum of section in guide vane inlet is above the middle location of the guide vane suction surface, and the pressure fluctuation minimum of section in which located the middle and outlet of guide vane. When it is under the small flow operating condition, the eddy scale of guide vane is larger, and the pressure fluctuation of the channel in guide vane being cyclical fluctuations obviously which leads to the area of eddy expanding to the whole channel from the suction side. The middle of the guide vane suction surface of the minimum amplitude pressure fluctuation to which the vortex core of eddy scale whose direction of fluid's rotation is the same to impeller in the guide vane adhere.

  • This paper presents the effects of free-stream turbulence on streamwise surface pressure fluctuations on two-dimensional rectangular cylinders. Particular attention is given to possible effects of turbulence integral scale on fluctuation and peak pressures. The mean, standard deviation, peak pressure coefficients, spectra and cross-correlation of fluctuating pressures were measured to investigate the nature of the separation and reattachment phenomenon in turbulent flows over a wide range of turbulence intensity and integral scale.

  • Contribution of the vestibular end organ to regulation of arterial pressure was quantitatively compared with the role of baroreceptors in terms of baroreflex sensitivity and c-Fos protein expression in the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM). Baroreflex sensitivity and c-Fos protein expression in the RVLM were measured in conscious rats that had undergone bilateral labyrinthectomy (BL) and/or baroreceptor unloading. BL attenuated baroreflex sensitivity during intravenous infusion of sodium nitroprusside (SNP), but did not significantly affect the sensitivity following infusion of phenylephrine (PE). Baroreflex sensitivity became positive following sinoaortic denervation (SAD) during infusion of PE and attenuated sensitivity during infusion of SNP. Baroreflex sensitivity also became positive following double ablation (BL+SAD) during infusion of PE, and attenuated sensitivity during infusion of SNP. c-Fos protein expression increased significantly in the RVLM in the sham group after SNP administration. However, the BL, SAD, and SAD+BL groups showed significant decreases in c-Fos protein expression compared with that in the sham group. The SAD group showed more reduced c-Fos protein expression than that in the BL group, and the SAD+BL group showed less expression than that in the SAD group. These results suggest that the vestibular system cooperates with baroreceptors to maintain arterial pressure during hypotension but that baroreceptors regulate arterial pressure during both hypotension and hypertension. Additionally, afferent signals for maintaining blood pressure from the vestibular end organs and the baroreceptors may be integrated in the RVLM.

  • Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) are attractive because of possible application in display with low-operating voltage, low-power consumption, self-emission and capability of multicolor emission by the selection of emissive materials. To investigated the optical effects, we studied the electrical and optical characteristics due to thickness variation of electron injection materials LiF on organic light-emitting diodes in the ITO (indium-tin-oxide)/N,N'-diphenyl-N, N'-bis(3-methyphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine(TPD)/tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum $(Alq_3)/LiF$ layer/Al device. We maintained the thicknesses of TPD and $Alq_3$ layers at 40 nm and 60 nm, respectively. The deposition rates of TPD and $Alq_3$ were in the $1.5{\AA}/s$ under a base pressure of $5{\times}10^{-6}$ Torr. It was found that luminance and luminous efficiency of the device with 0.7 nm LiF layer improve 25 times and 7 times than the device without the LiF layer, respectively.

  • A facile method for surface coating with $Li_2TiF_6$ which has a high lithium-ion conductivity, on $LiMn_2O_4$ spinel cathode material for high performance lithium ion batteries. The surface coating is performed by using a co-precipitation method with $Li_2CO_3$ powder and $H_2TiF_6$ solution under room temperature and atmospheric pressure without special equipment. Total coating amount of $Li_2TiF_6$ is carefully controlled from 0 to 10 wt.% based on the active material of $LiMn_2O_4$. They are evaluated by a systematic combination of analyses comprising with XRD, SEM, TEM and ICP. It is found that the surface modification of $Li_2TiF_6$ is very beneficial to high cycle life and excellent rate capability by reducing surface failure and supporting lithium ions transportation on the surface. The best coating condition is found to have a high cycle life of $103mAh\;g^{-1}$ at the 100th cycle and a rate capability of $102.9mAh\;g^{-1}$ under 20 C. The detail electrochemical behaviors are investigated by AC impedance and galvanostatic charge and discharge test.

  • Recently, liquid desiccant systems have received attention for the dehumidification of air. LiCl and LiBr are widely used in liquid desiccant systems due to their excellent thermo-physical properties. In this study, dehumidification tests were conducted with Celdek elements using LiCl and LiBr. During the tests, the dry and wet-bulb air temperatures were maintained at $35^{\circ}C$ and $28^{\circ}C$, respectively. The solution temperature was $20^{\circ}C$, the solution concentration was 50%, the solution circulation rate was 50 kg/h, and the frontal air velocity was varied from 2.0 to 4.0 m/s. The results show that the amount of dehumidification increased as the frontal velocity increased. On average, LiCl showed 27% higher dehumidification performance than LiBr, which was probably due to the lower saturation of the absolute humidity of LiCl compared with that of LiBr. On the other hand, LiBr yielded 12% larger pressure drop than LiCl. In general, the Sherwood numbers of LiCl and LiBr were approximately the same, showing that the effect of the desiccant on the Sherwood number was insignificant. Existing correlations highly overpredicted the present Sherwood numbers.

  • Osmotic pressure is a critical factor for erythritol production with osmophilic yeast. Protein expression patterns of an erythritol-producing yeast, Yarrowia lipolytica, were analyzed to identify differentially-expressed proteins in response to osmotic pressure. In order to analyze intracellular protein levels quantitatively, two-dimensional gel electrophoresis was performed to separate and visualize the differential expression of the intracellular proteins extracted from Y. lipolytica cultured under low (3.17 osmol/kg) and high (4.21 osmol/kg) osmotic pressures. Proteomic analyses allowed identification of 54 differentially-expressed proteins among the proteins distributed in the range of pI 3-10 and 14.4-97.4 kDa molecular mass between the osmotic stress conditions. Remarkably, the main proteins were involved in the pathway of energy, metabolism, cell rescue, and stress response. The expression of such enzymes related to protein and nucleotide biosynthesis was inhibited drastically, reflecting the growth arrest of Y. lipolytica under hyperosmotic stress. The improvement of erythritol production under high osmotic stress was due to the significant induction of a range of crucial enzymes related to polyols biosynthesis, such as transketolase and triosephosphate isomerase, and the osmotic stress responsive proteins like pyridoxine-4-dehydrogenase and the AKRs family. The polyols biosynthesis was really related to an osmotic response and a protection mechanism against hyperosmotic stress in Y. lipolytica. Additionally, the high osmotic stress could also induce other cell stress responses as with heat shock and oxidation stress responses, and these responsive proteins, such as the HSPs family, catalase T, and superoxide dismutase, also had drastically increased expression levels under hyperosmotic pressure.
