Multiple and Variable Traffic Message Sign using Display (Display를 이용한 교통 다중 및 가변 정보 제공 표지)

  • With Various signs are installed at roadside to display the message which rather confuse the drivers. The technologies using advanced lighting system and LED have improved the visibility at nighttime but the problems with plural signs have yet to be resolved. In order to solve this problem, LED and the prismatic variable message sign have been applied. But, they have been provided limited information by the display limit. This research conducted to study patent and technical trend of the existing variable message signs to understand the present technology. And, we suggested next generation display to improve providing information. Therefore, we conducted to compare the LED and the OLED by technical and economical literature review. Also, this research conducted test of luminance contrast about the LED and the OLED display in order to understand the possibility of replacing road signs.

  • 반도체 기술의 발전으로 기존에 전자회로 부품으로 사용되던 LED(Light Emitting Diode)는 차세대 조명용 광원으로 대두되고 있다. LED는 소비전력이 작아 에너지를 절약할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 수명이 길어 유지보수 비용이 획기적으로 줄어든다. 현재 신호등과 같은 지시용 조명기기를 대체할 광원으로 다양한 시도가 이루어지고 있다. LED는 자체적인 발열은 적지만 주변온도에 민감하게 광도가 변화한다는 단점을 가지고 있다. 높은 온도는 LED의 수명에도 영향을 미쳐 열화를 빨리 가져오게 된다. 따라서 정전류제어를 통해 LED의 전류를 일정하게 하고 온도변화에 영향을 받지 않고 광도를 일정하게 유지하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 정전류 구동회로에 열화로 인한 LED의 수명의 연장하기 위해 온도변화에 따라 LED의 구동전류와 일정한 광출력을 유지하기 위한 제어회로를 제안하였다. 제안한 제어회로는 시뮬레이션을 통해 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • We have developed a novel LED display architecture with RGGB 4sub-pixels rendering. LED light control filter algorithm is proposed in order to reduce color fringes by sub-pixel rendering which is a method of perceptual enhancement. The results show that it has 2 times higher perceptual resolution without artifacts.

  • LED Scanning Backlight Stereoscopic Display with Shutter Glasses is provided to realize stereoscopic image viewing even in a liquid crystal display. The eye shutter signal is alternately switched from the left eye to the right eye with 120Hz of LCD Vertical synchronization (V-sync).

  • This paper presents an LED driver which requires a high voltage gain (5-6 times). To achieve a high voltage gain, the tapped-inductor boost converter topology was used and through the analysis of converter's steady-state and its dynamic characteristics, the product design's reliability and validity were verified.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new programming learning system for young students. The programming learning system consists of a LED display kit and a web-based flowchart system. The LED display kit acts as an output device by way of displaying lights while following a set of instructions given through a flowchart programming. In the flowchart system, the students use symbolic variables for the calculation and can get various displays or animations after creating a flowchart by drag-and-drop. Then we describe the survey results of various programming classes using our system between fall 2005 and spring 2009. The programming teaching was conducted with diverse groups such as elementary school students, gifted students, college students, and teachers etc. The responses from our in class surveys were generally positive.

  • In this paper, the new efficient drive control technology based on the conventional full-color electric display board image processing method is proposed. This technology can be applied to high-fidelity large size panel TV and LCD Display, and makes high-fidelity-display-drive control possible in those. The proposed drive control technology can strengthen the image processing function of the conventional technology. Also, the automatic or manual adjustment of contrast, bright, tint, color, gamma revision, etc. can help to achieve high-fidelity vision. This technology can be adopted with lower price.

  • LED(light emitting diode)는 처리속도, 전력소모, 수명 등에서 큰 장점이 있기 때문에 첨단조명의 광원으로 각광받고 있다. LED는 전원의 변동에 따라 광출력이 변동되므로 일정한 전압, 전류를 유지하는 기술이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 LED 조명의 안정된 동작을 위한 전원장치로서 일정한 전압과 전류를 유지해주는 PWM(pulse width modulation) 궤환제어 방식의 부스트 컨버터를 제안하였다.

  • A novel white-LED (light emitting diode) backlight system for 46"LCD TVs which involves the current controlled X-Y channel driving method is proposed in this paper. There are two problems related to the LED current in the conventional X-Y channel driving driven by a constant voltage source. To solve these problems, a real time current sensing system is applied to the conventional one and the time-division current sensing method is employed.
