Basic Control Algorithm for Parallel Formation of Multi-mining Robots (다중 집광로봇의 수평대형유지를 위한 기초 알고리즘 연구)

  • This paper proposes a formation control method by which multi-mining robots maintain a specified formation and follow a path. To secure the path tracking performance, a pure-pursuit algorithm is considered for each individual robot, and to minimize the deviation from the reference path, speed reduction in the steering motion is added. For the formation, in which two robots are parallel in a lateral direction, the robots track the specified path at a constant distance. In this way, the Leader-Follower method is adopted and the following robot knows the position and heading angle of the leader robot. Through the experimental test using two ground vehicle models, the performance is verified.

  • The relationships between leader-subordinate interpersonal communication and performance were examined in conjuction with leadership for small project teams of six research institutes funded by Korean Government. The official communication was more positively related to consideration than initiating structure of leader behavior. The non-official communication was positively related to consideration but not significantly related to initiating structure. Each dimension of the performance was positively related to the official and non-official communication for total sample and related differently to the communications according to leadership types for given leadership style.

A Multi-Chain Based Hierarchical Topology Control Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks

  • In this paper, we present a multi-chain based hierarchical topology control algorithm (MCHTC) for wireless sensor networks. In this algorithm, the topology control process using static clustering is divided into sensing layer that is composed by sensor nodes and multi-hop data forwarding layer that is composed by leader nodes. The communication cost and residual energy of nodes are considered to organize nodes into a chain in each cluster, and leader nodes form a tree topology. Leader nodes are elected based on the residual energy and distance between themselves and the base station. Analysis and simulation results show that MCHTC outperforms LEACH, PEGASIS and IEEPB in terms of network lifetime, energy consumption and network energy balance.

A Study on the effect of emotional labor and leader's emotional intelligence on job satisfaction and organizational commitment for nurses (감정노동과 상사의 감성지능이 간호사의 직무만족과 조직몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of nurses' emotional labor and the importance of leaders' emotional intelligence roles by verifying them with job satisfaction and organizational commitment for 396 nurses at 8 university hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. It was found that emotional labor had a negative relationship with job satisfaction and organizational commitment. And leaders' emotional intelligence has a significant positive relationship with job satisfaction and organizational commitment. However, leaders' emotional intelligence has no moderation effect on emotional labor and dependent variables. As this study shows that emotional labor and leader's emotional intelligence affect organizational effectiveness of hospital nurses, it would be important to not only manage members' emotional labor but to also develop the emotional intelligence of both leaders and the staff.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of Women's clothing fashion opinion leaders. The fundamental conceptualization for this study was based on the theories of fashion and opinion leader. Data for the study was obtained through questionnaires from 385 houswives of Gang Nam Gu. The measure of fashion opinion leadership applied in this project was the modification of Rogers' six question self-designating method. Operationally, the characteristic under investigation categoried into three sets of variable ; demographic and socialogical variables, and mass media exposure. As to the data analyses for this study, two-way crosstabs analyses were applied in comparing the characteristics of fashion opinion leader with followers. X\sup 2\ test was used to examine the correlation of several variables. RESULTS : 1. Fashion opinion leaders are not differ from followers in demographic characteristics. 2. Compared with followers, fashion opinion leaders are more active in the participation in concerts, movies and plays. 3. In mass media exposure, fashion opinion leaders differ little from followers regarding T.V, radio, newspaper, literarly magazine, general magazine, culture magazine.

  • The discharge processes in electro-negative gases with non-uniform field gape are composed of the formation of pulsed streamer corona, the transition of the streamers into leader step, the temporal development of the leader channel, and the stepped propagation of leader through the gap. In this paper, the first corona inception characteristics in $SF_6$ gas and $SF_{6}-N_{2}$ mixtures, related to the propagation of loader and the space charge effect, were experimentally investigated with positive and negative transient impulse voltages.

Leader-Following Formation Control of Multiple Robots with Uncertainties through Sliding Mode and Nonlinear Disturbance Observer

  • This paper presents a control scheme for the leader-following formation of multiple robots. The control scheme combines the sliding mode control (SMC) method with the nonlinear disturbance observer (NDOB) technique. The formation dynamics suffer from uncertainties because the individual robots are uncertain. Concerning such formation uncertainties, the leader-following formation dynamics are modeled. Assuming that the formation uncertainties have an unknown boundary, an NDOB-based observer was designed to estimate the formation uncertainties. A sliding surface containing the observer outputs has been defined. Regarding the sliding surface, an SMC-based controller was investigated to form uncertain robots. A sufficient condition in the sense of the Lyapunov theory was proven such that the formation system is asymptotically stable. Herein, some comparison results between the sole SMC method and the second-order SMC method are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the control scheme for multiple robots in the presence of uncertainties.

An Orbital Design Method for Satellite Formation Flying

  • An orbital design method of the formation initialization based on the relative orbital element method is presented. It firstly constructed the relative motion equation of the satellite formation flying in terms of the leader and followers' orbital elements. Then the equation was simplified when the orbit eccentricity of the leader satellite was small. And according to the satellites' mission, a general design method for the relative trajectory was proposed. The advantage of this method is that one can get a very simple analytical formula of each follower satellite's orbital elements when the orbital eccentricity of the leader satellite is zero. The simulation results show that the method is effective.

Differential Impact of Customer Equity Drivers on Satisfaction: The Case of China's Telecommunications Industry

  • As the necessity of customer relationship management (CRM) increases, measuring the performance of CRM have been actively discussed. Customer equity (CE) is regarded as an appropriate indicator for evaluating the outcomes of marketing activities. There are three drivers of CE: brand, value, and relationship equity. This study aims to investigate the impact of three drivers on customer satisfaction. Market competition is an environmental factor that affects the effectiveness of CRM. This study divides target firms into leaders and followers. This study found that the differential impact of CE drivers on customer satisfaction depends on the firm's status (leader or follower). Specifically, the brand equity driver significantly impacts the leader firm. However, the impacts of value and relationship equity drivers are bigger for follower firms. The above results suggest that firms need to build CRM strategies that consider the competitive situation of the market and their position.

The Study of Korean-style Leadership (The Great Cause?Oriented and Confidence-Oriented Leadership) (대의와 신뢰 중시의 한국형 리더십 연구)

  • This research analyzes some Korean historical figures and presents the core values of their leaderships so that we can bring up the theory of leadership which would be compatible with the current circumstances around Korea. Through this work, we expected that we would not only find out typical examples among historical leaders but also reaffirm our identities in our history. As a result of the research, it was possible to classify some figures in history into several patterns and discover their archetypal qualities. Those qualities were 'transform(實事)', 'challenge(決死)', 'energize(風流)', 'create(創案)', and 'envision(開新)' respectively. Among the qualities, this research concentrated on the quality of 'challenge', exclusively 'death-defying spirit'. This spirit is the one with which historical leaders could sacrifice their lives for their great causes. This research selected twelve figures as incarnations of death-defying spirit, who are Gyebaek(階伯), Ganggamchan(姜邯贊), Euljimundeok(乙支文德), Choeyoung(崔瑩),ChungMongju(鄭夢周), Seongsammun (成三問), Yisunsin(李舜臣), Gwakjaewoo(郭再祐), Choeikhyeon(崔益鉉), Anjunggeun(安重根), Yunbonggil(尹奉吉), Yijun(李儁). Through analyzing their core values and abilities and categorizing some historical cases into four spheres such as a private sphere, relations sphere, a community sphere, and a society sphere, we came to find a certain element in common among those figures. It was that they eventually took the lead by showing the goal and the ideal to their people at all times. Moreover, their goals were always not only obvious but also unwavering. In the second chapter, I described the core value in a private sphere, so called '志靑靑'. It implies that a leader should set his ultimate goal and then try to attain it with an unyielding will. Obvious self-confidence and unfailing self-creed are core values in a private sphere. In the third chapter, I described the core value in a relative sphere, the relationship between one and others. It is '守信結義'. It indicates that a leader should win confidence from others by discharging his duties in the relation with others. Confidence is the highest leveled affection to others. Thus, mutual reliance should be based on truthful sincerity and affection toward others. Stubbornness and strictness are needed not to be prompted by pity simultaneously. In the fourth chapter, I described the core value in a community sphere. It is '丹心合力'. For this value, what are required to a leader are both his community spirit and his loyalty to one's community. Moreover, the strong sense of responsibility and the attitude of taking an initiative among others are also required. Thus, it can be said that the great power to conduct the community is so called fine teamwork. What's more, the attitude of the leader can exert a great influence on his community. In the fifth chapter, I described the core value of death defying spirit in the society sphere. This value might be more definite and explicit than other ones described above. A leader should prepare willingly for one's death to fulfill his great duties. 'What to do' is more important for a leader than 'how to do'. That is to say, a leader should always do righteous things. Efficiency is nothing but one of his interests. A leader must be the one who behaves himself always according to righteousness. Unless a leader's behaviors are based on righteousness, it is absolutely impossible that a leader exerts his leadership toward people very efficiently. Thus, it can be said that a true leader is the one not only who is of morality and but also who tries to fulfill his duties.
