지중배전케이블의 PD 검출용 필터 시험 연구 (Filter Test for Partial Discharge Detection of Underground Distribution Cables)

  • To decrease and remove of much noises that is detected in PD (partial discharge) measuring test. we forced on detection of those. We made W-LC filter for measuring PD. which adapted that to field test. We tested after design laboratory circumstances like field line. and then the phase change properties of detected signal in UHF sensor were measured by Lemke Probe and oscilloscope (TDS-3054. Tektronix). Eventually we checked decrement of noises from experimental result. Also from experimental result at the joint box of 22.9[kV] distribution line. we obtained reasonable data which enable noises to decrease. Hereafter those results will be adapted at ultra-high voltage for trouble prevention and on-line cable watch. diagnosis of those.

두 액정 층의 광학적 보상을 이용한 비틀린 네마틱 액정 셀의 시야각 조절 (Viewing angle control of TN-LCD using optical compensation of two LC layers)

  • We have studied the viewing angle control of a twist nematic liquid crystal display (TN-LCD). The TN-LCD exhibits a bad image quality along vertical direction, due to characteristics such as low contrast ratio and gray scale inversion. The proposed new TN-LCD has the function of switching between the wide viewing mode and narrow viewing angle mode using two tilted LC layers at both sides of a TN-cell. Tilt angles of the two LC layers, $14^{\circ}$ and $60^{\circ}$ were required in both wide viewing angle and narrow viewing angle modes, respectively.

  • We have studied the narrow viewing angle liquie crystal displays (LCDs) using a hybrid aligned nematic liquid crystal (LC) cell driven by a fringe field. The device using a LC with positive dielectric anisotropy has a relatively low transmittance. This paper describes how to improve light efficiency by optimizing electrode structure. The results show that the device exhibits a high transmittance of 90%, low driving voltage and narrow viewing angle less than $20^{\circ}$ along horizontal direction which is highly effective for private display application.

Alignment Effect of a Nematic Liquid Crystal on Deposited SiOx Thin-Film Surface with e-beam Evaporation

  • We have studied liquid crystal (LC) aligning capabilities for homeotropic alignment and the control of tilt angles on the $SiO_{x}$ thin film by electron beam evaporation method. A high tilt angle of about $86.5^{\circ}$ was obtained, and also the suitable tilt angle of the NLC on the $SiO_{x}$ thin film at $20{\sim}50\;nm$ thickness with e-beam evaporation can be achieved. The uniform LC alignment on the $SiO_{x}$ thin film surfaces with electron beam evaporation can be achieved. It is considerated that the LC alignment on the $SiO_{x}$ thin film by electron beam evaporation is attributed to elastic interaction between LC molecules and micro-grooves at the $SiO_{x}$ thin film surface created by evaporation.

금전초 추출물의 케라티노사이트 내 collagen 합성능 및 MMPs 억제효과 (Collagen synthesis ability and inhibitory effect of MMPs in keratinocytes of Lysimachia christinae Hance Extract)

  • 본 연구에서는 기능성 화장품의 소재로서의 금전초(Lysimachia christinae Hance)의 항산화와 항주름 효과를 조사하였다. 최근 천연물의 주름 개선 개발의 연구가 지속적인 관심을 받고 있어 본 연구를 통해 활성산소종(reactive oxygen species, ROS) 생성과 pro-collagen 합성 및 MMPs의 연관성에 대해 알아보았다. 금전초는 70% 에탄올(LcHE)과 열수(LcHW)로 각각 추출하여 실험을 진행하였다. HaCaT cells에서 LcHE가 LcHW보다 ROS 저해효능이 더 우수하고 세포독성 결과 250 ㎍/mL 농도까지 독성을 보이지 않아 LcHE를 선택하여 주름 개선 소재연구를 진행하였다. pro-collagen 합성실험을 통하여 UVB에 의해 감소된 type-1 pro-collagen의 합성 활성을 유의미하게 확인하였다. Western blot 실험을 통하여 피부세포에서 UVB에 의해 유도된 MMPs 중 MMP-1 -3 -9의 증가를 억제함을 확인하였으며, Real time PCR을 통하여 상위단계인 mRNA levels에서도 MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-9의 mRNA levels가 농도 의존적으로 유의미한 감소를 보여 추출물의 효능을 확인하였다. 위의 실험결과에 따라 UVB에 의한 주름생성과 피부 광노화를 효과적으로 예방할 수 있는 화장품의 천연소재로서의 이용이 기대된다.

폴리이미드 표면에서의 네마틱 액정의 틸트 제어를 이용한 High Tilted OCB(HTOCB) 모드 (A Hight Tilted OCB(HTOCB) Mode using Control of Tilt Angle for Hematic Liquid Crystal on Polyimide Surface)

  • In this paper, we have improved a novel high tilted optically compensated bend (OCB) (HTOCB) mode by using high tilt angle that was generated by the unique baking condition on the homeotropic alignment layer. The high tilt angle of liquid crystal (LC) was generated by new alignment process that tilt angle changed homeotropic state to homeogenous state using Hot-plate equipment; we obtained about $40\~50^{\circ}$ tilt angle with negative and positive dielectric anisotropy on the homeotropic polyimide (PI), and then LC tilt angle decreased as increasing baking temperature and time. At last, we obtained about $10^{\circ}$ with positive type NLC $({\Delta}n>0)$. Also, the LC tilt angle of positive type NLC $({\Delta}n>0)$ decreased as increasing rubbing strength at the same baking temperature and time. The novel LC operating mode (HTOCB) that used the high tilt angle by the new alignment method was improved. The response time of the novel HTOCB cell was faster than that of conventional OCB cell. We suggest that the developed the novel HTOCB cell using control of tilt angle on the homeotropic surface is a promising technique for the achievement of a fast response time and a high contrast ratio.

AFM을 이용한 수직배향막 폴리머 표면위의 액정배향에 관한 연구 (Study on the LC Alignment on Vertical Alignment Polymer Surface using the AFM)

  • We have studied the alignment of liquid crystals (LCs) on homeotropic polymeric surface that is scanned using an atomic force microscope (AFM) tip by optical polarizing microscopy and computer simulation. The scanned areas on one substrate are 5 $\mu\textrm{m}$ ${\times}$ 5 $\mu\textrm{m}$, 10 $\mu\textrm{m}$ ${\times}$ 10 $\mu\textrm{m}$, and 20 $\mu\textrm{m}$ ${\times}$ 20 $\mu\textrm{m}$ and this substrate is assembled to another substrate coated. with homeotropic polymer. The fabricated micro-LC cell using two substrates does not show any hysteresis and disclination lines inside the nano-rubbing areas, while changing voltage up and down. This indicates that the pretilt angle exists in the areas, thereby forming a hybrid LC configuration. From the experimental and computer simulation results, we can understand that the AFM rubbing clearly changes surface status of homeotropic alignment layer and causes the pretilt angle to an initial scanning direction.

전자빔 경사증착을 이용한 $SiO_x$ 박막의 프리틸트각 제어 (Control of pretilt angles on $SiO_x$ Thin Film by Electron Beam Evaporation Method)

  • By using 45$^{\circ}$ obliqued evaporation method with electron beam system, uniformly vertical liquid crystal (LC) alignment was achieved. And a high pretilt angles of about 2.5$^{\circ}$ were measured. Also, it was verified that there are no variations of pretilt angle as a function of $SiO_x$ thin film thickness 20nm and 50nm. A good LC alignment states were observed at annealing temperature of 250$^{\circ}C$. The high pretilt angle and the good thermal stability of LC alignment by 45$^{\circ}$ obliqued electron beam evaporation method on the $SiO_x$ thin film can be achieved.
