The LBS is accurately finding the point such as the moving people or objects and serves information to their position. This study explains the trend of the LBS technology, indicates problems of the recent LBS.
According to proliferation of smartphones and extension of various services utilizing location information, markets of Location Based Service(LBS) have been activating all over the world. However, as the privacy violations of personal location information have been continuously increased, interests in the deregulation have been grown as well. While the regulations of location information can protect personal information and privacy, it causes some negative affect in terms of development of diverse services and industry activation. In particular, Korea is the only country that has applied strict restrictions of LBS by making location information related independent 'Location Information Protection Act'. As a result of this, the issues that LBS industry has no longer developed in Korea and it is necessary for us to relax the regulations have been consistently raised. Thus, this study confirmed that there was the negative(-) relationship between the regulations and the market activation of LBS by comparing and analyzing the correlation between the market growth rate of LBS and relevant regulations at home and abroad; the regulations are strengthened, restrictions in market entry and the business performance can occur. In other words, LBS business will be able to be activated if the regulations which have not directly related to the privacy have been relaxed.
The LBS(Location-Based Service), which is based on individual's mobility, is required increasingly as mobile telecommunication and various infrastructures have developed rapidly. The technologies for LBS are location determination technology, service platform technology, contents provider technology and moving object database technology generally. Among these, service platform must be interoperable with location gate-way server and provide common function of billing, authentification, protect location information, privacy control, location trigger and intelligent acquisition and so on. The TTA(Telecommunications Technology Association) published specification that defines a standard protocol for safe and simple interface between LBS client and LBS platform and the OpenLS(Open Location Service) in OGC (Open GIS Consortium) released implementation specifications for providing Location based core services. In this paper, we implemented service platform for LBS which is able to interoperable with location gateway server and contents provider and is caracterized as follows. First, it could require and response location information from different types of location gateway server with same interface. Second, it complies with the standard interfaces with OpenLS 4 contents providers for core LBS. Third, it could provide location of wired phone as well as wireless mobile terminal compling with the standard protocol. Last, it could provide trajectorH information based past location as well as current location, because it is able to interoperable with moving object DBMS. This paper contributes to the construction and practical use of LBS by providing the method of implementation of service platform for LBS.
This essay examines the recent proliferation of location-based services (LBS) within the context the expansion of the technologies of remote identification, monitoring, and tracking. Following the spatial turn in the social sciences, this essay aims to analyze LBS as a surveillance technology that can re-shape the spatial configuration of its users and their identity. The analytic focus of this essay is on LBS within the global information infrastructure, and it utilizes key LBS examples in the US and South Korea. First, as a way to discuss the technical possibilities of LBS for spatial coordination and surveillance, this essay investigates its technical architecture in terms of information flow. It then discusses the issue of privacy in LBS by analyzing some of its key legal and regulatory issues. The combination of the global information infrastructure with location-related technologies has enabled LBS companies to expand the scope of surveillance over the ever-increasing computer-mediated activities, prompting heated discussions over whether LBS is capturing "Every Moment in Your Life." This essay concludes with a discussion on how location technologies have provided a key platform for the rise of surveillance capitalism through the creation of what Marc $Aug{\acute{e}}$ called a "non-place," a place where the identified self is constituted by LBS.
Objective: We evaluated the effects of tooth displacement on frictional force when conventional ligating lingual brackets (CL-LBs), CL-LBs with a narrow bracket width, and self-ligating lingual brackets (SL-LBs) were used with initial leveling and alignment wires. Methods: CL-LBs (7th Generation), CL-LBs with a narrow bracket width (STb), and SL-LBs (In-Ovation L) were tested under three tooth displacement conditions: no displacement (control); a 2-mm palatal displacement (PD) of the maxillary right lateral incisor (MXLI); and a 2-mm gingival displacement (GD) of the maxillary right canine (MXC) (nine groups, n = 7 per group). A stereolithographic typodont system and artificial saliva were used. Static and kinetic frictional forces (SFF and KFF, respectively) were measured while drawing a 0.013-inch copper-nickel-titanium archwire through brackets at 0.5 mm/min for 5 minutes at $36.5^{\circ}C$. Results: The In-Ovation L exhibited lower SFF under control conditions and lower KFF under all displacement conditions than the 7th Generation and STb (all p < 0.001). No significant difference in SFF existed between the In-Ovation L and STb for a 2-mm GD of the MXC and 2-mm PD of the MXLI. A 2-mm GD of the MXC produced higher SFF and KFF than a 2-mm PD of the MXLI in all brackets (all p < 0.001). Conclusions: CL-LBs with narrow bracket widths exhibited higher KFF than SL-LBs under tooth displacement conditions. CL-LBs and ligation methods should be developed to produce SFF and KFF as low as those in SL-LBs during the initial and leveling stage.

Recently, in according as rapid improvement of telecommunication markets and wireless internet technology, Location- Based Services (LBS) have been discussed as new 'Killer' application. The purpose of LBS is to determine location of user through mobile handset and to offer location information service to end-user. This paper has suggested an efficient transmission scheme of maps data as one of the important content services relating to data transmission of LBS in mobile environment. The basic system consists of three parts : (1) GIS (Geographic Information System) Server for storing, processing and handling map data, (2) Middleware Server for transmitting of map data by request of client, and (3) Client for requesting map data to Server and displaying them on handset. Also, in order to transmit map data, we are to expand WKB (Well Known Binary) in conformance to Simple Feature Specification of OGC (Open GIS Consortium), and increase efficiency of data transmission by developing trans mission data format to be able to transmit lightweight data and considering data compression technology.
The LBS (Location-Based Services) are valuable information services combined the location of moving object with various contents such as map, POI (point of Interest), route and so on. The must general service of LBS is route determination service and its applicable parts are FMS (Fleet Management System), travel advisory system and mobile navigation system. The core function of route determination service is determination of optimal route from source to destination in various environments. The MODB (Moving Object Database) system, core part of LBS composition systems, is able to manage current or past location information of moving object and massive trajectory information stored in MODB is value-added data in CRM, ERP and data mining part. Also this past trajectory information can be helpful to determine optimal route. In this paper, we suggest methods to determine optimal route by querying past trajectory information in MODB system and verify the effectiveness of suggested method.

본 논문은 Directory Service(white page, yellow page, green page)를 분산환경에 적합하고 시스템 유연성을 고려하기 위해서 EJB(Enterprise Java Bean)기반 Webservice로 구현한 방법론 및 그 시스템에 관한 논문이다.
