  • Techniques measuring Maxwell displacement current (MDC) and LB films surface measuring technique have been applied to the study of monolayers of polyamic acid containing azobenzene. MDCs was generated from monolayers on the water surface by monolayer compression and expansion. It was generated when the area per molecule was about $103{\AA}^2\;and\;78{\AA}^2$ just before the initial rise of the surface pressure during the 1st and 2nd mixed monolayer compressions cycle, respectively. It was the maximum of MDCs appeared at the molecular area just before the initial rise of surface pressure in compression cycles, and we have found that the increase of aggregations causes the noticeable increase of the surface roughness.

  • $\prod$-A characteristics of N-docosylquinolium-TCNQ complex were investigated with the following variations. I> $\prod$-A characteristics with a variation of spreading amount. ii> $\prod$-A characteristics with a variation of barrier speed. iii> $\prod$-A characteristics with a variation of subphase temperature. An optimum surface pressure for a deposition of Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) layer was found to be a 40∼50 mN/m in pure water subphase (pH 5.4, $25^{\circ}C$).

  • Using an aromatic system, we made a ultra thin insulator through LB-method. We measured and wrote down afternating currant characteristics of ultraviolet rays extincting-spectrum and I.R extincting-spectrum. We surveyed the thickness of a film through X-ray diffracting method and certified about $4{\AA}$ by the layer. Measuring the characteristics of direct current voltage and electric current with this sample, we produced its conductivity and discovered that this sample had a god insulating performance. Addition to this, we measured the characteristics of voltage and electric current, and the temperature dependency of conductivity in a high voltage system and with these results tried to interpret a mechanism of conduction.

  • A Stability to spreading solvent, which is acetonitrile, dichloromethane, benzene, chloroform, and acetonitrile-benzene (1:1, v/v) of (N-docosyl quinolinium)-TCNQ(1:2) complex was investigated by UV-visible spectrometer and was confirmed stabilized on acetonitrile, dichloromethane, and acetonitrile-benzene(1:1, v/v) for 7 hours. Using buffer solution($ph{\doteqdot}6.0$) as subphase for Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) film, it was achieved successively to fabricate the Y type LB films of (N-docosyl quinolinium)-TCNQ(1:2) complex. For the identification of deposition of (N-docosyl quinolinium)-TCNQ(1:2) complex, UV-visible spectra was recorded on HP 8452A spectrometer.

  • Ultra thin organic films, (3-docosyl benzimidazolium)-TCNQ(1:1)complex, were deposited onto ordinary microscope slide glass substrates with a Langmuir-Blodgett technique. II-A isotherms were studied to find optimum conditions of deposition by varying temperature. Anisotropic de electrical conductivities were measured at room temperature. They are about $5.21{\times}10^{-12}S/cm$ along the direction of film surface, and $(2.73{\sim}4.40){\times}10^{-16}S/cm$ in the vertical direction.

This paper, experiment manufactures device of Metal/Organic Films/Metal structure using PBDG and I-V properties by electrode analyzed comparison. Also, measure energy level by electrode by propertiesy electrochemistry and studied about electron transfer of organic thin film in LUMO level relation with HOMO level.

  • We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is 20[mN/m]. LB layers of Arac. acid deposited by LB method were deposited onto Y-type silicon wafer as x, y, z-type film. In processing of a device manufacture, we can see the process is good from the change of a surface pressure for organic thin films and transfer ratio of area per molecule. The structure of manufactured device is Au/arachidic acid/Al, the number of accumulated layers Also, we then examined of the MIM device by means of I-V. The I-V characteristic of the device is measured from 0 to +2[V].

  • Recently, the study on development of electrical and electronic device is done to get miniature, high degrees of integration and efficiency by using inorganic materials. the study of Langmuir-Boldgett(LB) method that uses organic materials because of the limitation for the ultrasmall size. The structure of MIM(Metal-Insulator-Metal) device is Cr-Au/ PBLG/ Al. the number of accumulated layers are 1, 3, 5, 7, 9. The I-V characteristic of the device is measured from 0[V] to 2[V] and the characteristic of current-time of the devices. We have investigated the capacitance because PBLG system have a accumulated layers the maximum value of measured current is increased as the number of accumulated layers are decreased. The capacitor properties of a thin film is better as the distance between electrodes is smaller. The results have shown the insulating materials and could control the conductivity by accumulated layers.

  • Electrical properties of both a monolayer at the air/water interface and Langmuir-Blodgett films sandwiched between aluminum electrodes are studied using a current-measuring technique. A change in induced charges on an electrode suspended in the air was measured in combination with the surface area isotherm in the electrical measurement of the monolayer. A change in induced charges on an electrode is measured while heating the sample in the electrical measurement of the LB films. From both measurements, we elucidated that a spontaneous polarization plays very important role in the electrical properties of both a monolayer at the air/water interface and LB films sandwiched between aluminum electrodes.

  • Polyimide is a well-known organic dielectric material, which has not only high chemical and thermal stability but also good electrical insulating and mechanical properties. In this research, the electrical properties of PI LB films were investigated at room temperature. At low electric field, ohmic conduction(I∝V) was observed and the calculated electrical conductivity was about 9.7$\times$10$^{-15}$ S/cm. At high electric field, conduction(I∝V$^2$) was observed and the conduction mechanism was explained by space charge limited region effect. The dielectric constant of LB film was about 7.5.
