  • The purpose of this study is to formulate the way of the feminist strategy in Germany which is to change in the process of the globalization in the economic relations. The radical feminism which is the main streaming of german feminism shows a little interest in the role of the german welfare state (social state) to improve the quality of life of women. The german welfare state is, as the feminism says, only a instrument of patriarchy to perpetuate the domination of men over women. The german welfare state has played, but, an important role for the individualization of the relation of women's life which is the first condition for the emancipation of women from the patriarchal domination. That is a result of the interaction between the german welfare state and feminism. The role of the german welfare state for the interest of women is now challenged by the globalization of the economic relations which tries to reduce the standard of social services. The greatest victim of this process is women. Therefore it is necessary for the german feminism to think over the way of his strategy in relation to the german welfare state. The content of this study is as follows: First, the historical background of the german feminism explains how the radical feminism has become the mainstreaming of the german feminism. Seconds, the feminist strategy which rejects the role of the german welfare state for the interest of women has its own limits. Third, the german welfare state has not only developed the ideology of breadwinner but also contributed to the beginning of independent life of woman who were under the control of man. Fourth, the german welfare state is challenged by the economic globalization and being changed by the economic globalization. Fifth, therefore, the feminism has to concentrate to develop a strategy which accepts the limit and the possibility of german welfare state.

  • In the last several years, South Korea's shipbuilders have been dominating global shipbuilding. Thus, many global suppliers in the shipbuilding industry, especially German supply companies, are eager to get the Korean major shipbuilders as their customer. This study analyzed the different ways of business behaviours of German and Korean businessmen regarding customer-supplier relations. Furthermore, this paper aims to examine the kinds of challenges the international businessmen are confronted with and how this affects everyday business between German suppliers and Korean customers, using several case examples. Finally, backgrounds of cross-cultural problems and conflicts of German-Korean business relations are identified and explained.

  • This paper investigated how $/\int/$ in English and German is perceived and interpreted in the loanwords in Korean. $/\int/$ in these languages does not show one-to-one correspondence in Korean: $/\int/$ in the coda position in English and German is perceived as [swi] in Korean while $/\int/$ in the onset position is perceived as [syu]. This paper examined phonetic characteristics of $/\int/$ in English and German through its acoustic analysis and attempted to figure out which factor could explain this surface distribution of [swi] and [syu]; phonological (onset vs. coda) or phonetic (coarticulation) factor. Two acoustic features of $/\int/$ in English and German were examined: duration and energy Peak frequency of the frication noise. German $/\int/$ Perceived as [swi] in Korean showed higher energy Peak frequency and longer duration than that perceived as [syu] in Korean. English iii perceived as [swi] also showed longer duration than that Perceived as [syu] in Korean but energy Peak frequency showed different behavior. English $/\int/$ showed coarticulation with the preceding vowel rather than being affected by its position in the syllable in English. This paper concludes that 1)Phonetic characteristics used are duration and energy Peak frequency of its frication noise when $/\int/$ in English and German are adopted in Korean, 2)duration is used prior to energy peak frequency, which can be used as an enhancing feature.

The concept of Medievalism is an attitude to revive the social and physical settings on Middle Ages. The social situation and architectural style in the Middle Ages were similar to the German Expressionism in the early 20th-century. The Medieval Characteristics of the German Architectural Expressionism were expressed in two ways -first, organic or sculptural style and second, fantastic or Crystal style. The architects such as Hermann Finsterlin, Henry van de Velde, Erich Mendelsohn, Rudolf Steiner, Hugo H ring, Hans Poelzig belonged to the first tendency, and such as Paul Scheerbart, Bruno Taut, Otto Bartning, Dominikus B hm belonged to the second tendency. The Medieval concept of the German architectural Expressionism was succeeded to Modern Architecture in 1950-1960s'. The architects in 1950-1960's such as Hans Scharoun, Gottfried B hm, Alvar Aalto, J rn Utzon intended to express organic and fantastic mass which was closely connected with the Medival concept of the German architectural Expressionism.

To do this study, a mail survey was chosen as the data collection method. For the empirical study, 36 Korean, 35 Japanese and 50 German chemical firms were analyzed. The major results are indicated as follows: (1) The Korean and Japanese firms have focused more on the process innovation, while the German firm have focused more on the product innovation. (2) The Korean and Japanese firms have oriented more to cost saving, while the German firms have oriented more market share. Based on these findings, the Korean firms have no purse simultaneously product and process innovation for strengthening of international. competitiveness, but the direction of the innovation patterns depends on the situations of the nation, industry and company.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the differences of family leisure motivation and family leisure constraints between German families and Korean families, and analyze the relationship among family leisure motivation, family leisure constraints, and family strengths. The sample in this study consisted of 102 Korean two-parent families with teenagers and 147 German two-parent families with teenagers. The results were as follows: 1) family bonding motivation and rest motivation did not differ significantly between German families and Koran families while educational motivation and obligatory motivation differ significantly between the two. 2) While Korean families were more constrained to intrapersonal constraints, German families were more constrained to interpersonal constraints. 3) Educational motivation, family bonding motivation, rest motivation, interpersonal constraints, and structural constraints were found to be significantly correlated with German family strength while educational motivation, family bonding motivation, rest motivation, and interpersonal constraints were found to be significantly correlated with Korean family strength.

  • Purpose: This study aims to classify multiple forms of home care services from a service user's perspective. By comparing the German system to the Korean one, this study seeks to find better ways of enhancing client-centered care. Methods: The data of 121 home care users were collected from six home care centers that had under the management of nursing managers for more than five years. The researcher used a German instrument to estimate the level of care. Results: High correlation was found between German and Korean assessment criteria (r=0.81, p<.001). However, compared to their German counterparts, Korean home care providers allocated more time towards provision of domestic help per daily visit. German home care providers allocated more time towards services relating to provision of support for physical activities, including personal hygiene. It was confirmed that the level of care in Korea does not correlate with either the categories of home care services and duration. Conclusion: Therefore, care services should be offered according to long-term care needs. This study suggests a need for systematic care aimed at strengthening the client's autonomy which should be properly planned, implemented, and managed.
