An enhancement in the performance and safety of a high-level waste repository requires a validation of its engineered barrier. An engineering-scale test (named "KENTEX") has been conducted to investigate the thermal-hydro-mechanical behaviors in the engineered barrier of the Korean reference disposal system The validation test started on May 31, 2005 and is still under operation. The experimental data obtained allowed a preliminary and qualitative interpretation of the thermal-hydro-mechanical behaviors in the bentonite blocks. The temperature was higher as it became closer to the heater, while it became lower as it was farther away from the heater. The water content had a higher value in the part close to the hydration surface than that in the heater part. The relative humidity data suggested that a hydration of the bentonite blocks might occur by different drying-wetting processes, depending on their position. The total pressure was continuously increased by the evolution of the saturation front in the bentonite blocks and thereby the swelling pressure. Near the heater region, there was also a significant contribution of the thermal expansion of bentonite and the vapor pressure in the pores of the bentonite blocks.

In Basel II compliance, internal rating systems are allowed for banks to enhance the self control and the validation of the system are getting more important. The validation methods are composed of qualitative test and quantitative test, three basic standards of which are discriminatory power, stability and calibration. The aim of this article is to review the quantitative tests for calibration and find a new method for it. These methods for discrimination between forecasted PD and observed PD include binomial test, chi square test, Brier score, traffic lights approach, normal test and extended traffic lights approach. We introduce a modified extended traffic lights approach considering asset correlations.
Objectives: FDY003 is a raw material for medicine consisting of a natural product that is expected to have the advantages of low side effects and high efficacy. In this study, we predict the efficacy and the standardization of the drug by method validation of anticipated index compounds and the measurement of antioxidant activity. Methods: FDY003 is prepared by extracting and purifying 70% of ethyl alcohol (EtOH). The method validation of cordycepin and chlorogenic acid was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography-photo diode array (HPLC-PDA) and the content of FDY003 was calculated. In order to monitor the biological activity of FDY003, antioxidant activity was measured by 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2-azino bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS), and ferric-reducing antioxidant power (FRAP). The equivalent values of antioxidants such as trolox, ascorbic acid, gallic acid, and caffeic acid were measured by ABTS and FRAP. Results: Chlorogenic acid and cordycepin were both found suitable for method validation in HPLC and FDY003 containing 9.92±0.50 and 17.97±0.27 ㎍/g, respectively. In DPPH, the electron donating ability (EDA) value of FDY003 was increased in a concentration dependent manner. FDY003 confirmed antioxidant activity by ABTS and FRAP. Conclusions: FDY003 contains certain components including cordycepin and chlorogenic acid and has antioxidant ability by various mechanisms. Therefore, it is expected that FDY003 is capable of various physiological activities including anti-cancer activity.
Now a days, there's many change over for PACS among the most of hospital and it standard for DICOM 3.0. These kind of using of DICOM 3.0 improves increasing of medical imaging exchange and service for patient. However, there's some problems of compatibility caused during carry out CD and DVD from hospital. For this reason, this thesis analyzed patients image targeting those storages requested to hospitals in Seoul by using Validation Toolkit which is recommended from KFDA. The analyze type is like this. Make 100 data, total 500, each of MRI CT Plain x-ray Ultrasound PET-CT images and analyzed type of error occurred and loyalty of information. If express percentage of error occurred statistically, we can get a result as follows MRI 5%, Plain x-ray 11%, CT 18%, US 25%, PET-CT 30%. The reson why percentage of error occurred in PET-CT is because of imperfective support and we could notice that we weren't devoted to information. Even though, PET-CT showed highest percentage of error occurred, currently DICOM data improved a lot compare to past. Moreover, it should be devoted to rule of IHE TOOL or DICOM. In conclusion, we can help radiographer to analyze information of image by providing clues for solving primary problem and further more, each of PACS company or equipment company can enhance fidelity for following standard of image information through realizing the actual problem during transfer of image information.

This paper deals with the verification of the functions about mining robot, which is the system for developing deep seabed resources by applying V&V(verification and validation). In order to overcome water pressure of 500 bar and to travel on soft ground, and to operate in deep sea environment with bad conditions, it is necessary to develop a robot that can satisfy various deepsea conditions. A mining robot has been developed based on simulation based design and Multidisciplinary design optimization. In order to verify the developed robot, lab test and real sea test should be performed for various marine environment conditions. There are too many requirements to consider, such as space, time, cost, personnel, and environment to do performance test. So it is costly and time consuming for developing robot. In order to solve this problems, V&V technique was applied to mining robot. The stages of mining robot design, fabrication and commission were verified.

The objective of this study was to calibrate and validate the HSPF (Hydrological Simulation Program-Fortran) model for estimating the runoff of the Hapcheon dam watershed. Spatial data, such as watershed, stream, land use, and a digital elevation map, were used as input data for the HSPF model. Observed runoff data from 2000 to 2016 in study watershed were used for calibration and validation. Hydrologic parameters for runoff calibration were selected based on the user's manual and references, and trial and error method was used for parameter calibration. The $R^2$, RMSE (root-mean-square error), RMAE (relative mean absolute error), and NSE (Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency coefficient) were used to evaluate the model's performance. Calibration and validation results showed that annual mean runoff was within ${\pm}4%$ error. The model performance criteria for calibration and validation showed that $R^2$ was in the rang of 0.78 to 0.83, RMSE was 2.55 to 2.76 mm/day, RMAE was 0.46 to 0.48 mm/day, and NSE was 0.81 to 0.82 for daily runoff. The amount of inflow to Hapcheon Dam was calculated from the calibrated HSPF model and the result was compared with observed inflow, which was -0.9% error. As a result of analyzing the relation between inflow and storage capacity, it was found that as the inflow increases, the storage increases, and when the inflow decreases, the storage also decreases. As a result of correlation between inflow and storage, $R^2$ of the measured inflow and storage was 0.67, and the simulated inflow and storage was 0.61.
This study evaluated the sanitation management standards for vegetable preparation processes without a cooking stage. The aerobic plate counts (APC), coliform counts, and Escherichia coli of the samples at each production step were analyzed, and microbial growth of the samples stored at different temperatures was measured. The validation was judged in accordance with the microbial criteria stipulated by the British PHLS. After washing and disinfection, the APCs of the two samples decreased to 3~4 log CFU/g in both seasons. Compared to the purchasing stage, the decrease in coliform counts was approximately 0~3 log CFU/g in both seasons; E. coli was not detected. The initial APC and coliform levels of two vegetable samples were 4~5 log CFU/g in both seasons, with an increase of 1 log CFU/g taking more than 6 h at 25℃ and 2 h at 35℃. More than 10 h at 25℃ and 6 h at 35℃ were required to increase the E. coli O157:H7 count by 1~2 log CFU/g for two seasoned samples. In conclusion, washing and disinfection effects and changes in microbial growth during room temperature storage were similar in the two vegetables. Despite the low sanitizing effect of the two vegetables, when cut vegetables were stored under the critical limit within 2 h at two different room temperatures, seasoned lettuce and chicory were at the 'satisfactory' or 'acceptable' levels of PHLS regardless of the storage temperatures. The validation of sanitation management standards applied to vegetable preparation with the no-cook step was approved.

Determining blood loss [100% - RBV (%)] is challenging in the management of haemorrhagic shock. We derived an equation estimating RBV (%) via serial haematocrits (Hct1, Hct2) by fixing infused crystalloid fluid volume (N) as [0.015 × body weight (g)]. Then, we validated it in vivo. Mathematically, the following estimation equation was derived: RBV (%) = 24k / [(Hct1 / Hct2) -1]. For validation, non-ongoing haemorrhagic shock was induced in Sprague-Dawley rats by withdrawing 20.0%-60.0% of their total blood volume (TBV) in 5.0% intervals (n = 9). Hct1 was checked after 10 min and normal saline N cc was infused over 10 min. Hct2 was checked five minutes later. We applied a linear equation to explain RBV (%) with 1 / [(Hct1 / Hct2) -1]. Seven rats losing 30.0%-60.0% of their TBV suffered shock persistently. For them, RBV (%) was updated as 5.67 / [(Hct1 / Hct2) -1] + 32.8 (95% confidence interval [CI] of the slope: 3.14-8.21, p = 0.002, R2 = 0.87). On a Bland-Altman plot, the difference between the estimated and actual RBV was 0.00 ± 4.03%; the 95% CIs of the limits of agreements were included within the pre-determined criterion of validation (< 20%). For rats suffering from persistent, non-ongoing haemorrhagic shock, we derived and validated a simple equation estimating RBV (%). This enables the calculation of blood loss via information on serial haematocrits under a fixed N. Clinical validation is required before utilisation for emergency care of haemorrhagic shock.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the classification performance and applicability when land cover datasets constructed for AI training are cross validation to other areas. For study areas, Gyeongsang-do and Jeolla-do in South Korea were selected as cross validation areas, and training datasets were obtained from AI-Hub. The obtained datasets were applied to the U-Net algorithm, a semantic segmentation algorithm, for each region, and the accuracy was evaluated by applying them to the same and other test areas. There was a difference of about 13-15% in overall classification accuracy between the same and other areas. For rice field, fields and buildings, higher accuracy was shown in the Jeolla-do test areas. For roads, higher accuracy was shown in the Gyeongsang-do test areas. In terms of the difference in accuracy by weight, the result of applying the weights of Gyeongsang-do showed high accuracy for forests, while that of applying the weights of Jeolla-do showed high accuracy for dry fields. The result of land cover classification, it was found that there is a difference in classification performance of existing datasets depending on area. When constructing land cover map for AI training, it is expected that higher quality datasets can be constructed by reflecting the characteristics of various areas. This study is highly scalable from two perspectives. First, it is to apply satellite images to AI study and to the field of land cover. Second, it is expanded based on satellite images and it is possible to use a large scale area and difficult to access.
Objective: The absence of a guideline to refer to developing malocclusions appropriately, may be a contributing factor to the inadequacy of timely interceptive orthodontics provision. This study aimed to develop and validate a new orthodontic grading and referral index to be used by dental frontliners to prioritize the orthodontic referral of developing malocclusion in children based on its severity. Methods: A cross-sectional study involving clinical assessment with 413 schoolchildren aged between 8.1 and 11.9 years was conducted in 2018. All the presenting malocclusion was listed and graded based on a few dental guidelines to produce the draft index. The validity and reliability of the draft index were tested using twenty study models. Face and content validation was carried out using the content validation index and Modified Kappa Statistics. Results: Fourteen dental and occlusal anomalies were identified as components of malocclusion and three grades of referral (monitor, standard, urgent) were included in the final index. The scale-level content validity index average value of 0.86 and 0.87 was obtained for content and face validation, respectively. There was moderate to excellent agreement in the Modified Kappa Statistics for both validations. Excellent inter- and intra-assessor agreement was obtained. The new index displayed valid and reliable scores. Conclusions: The Index for Interceptive Orthodontics Referral was developed and validated for the dental frontliners to identify and prioritize the developing malocclusion in children based on its severity and refer for orthodontic consultation to increase the possibility for interceptive orthodontics.
