수질오염총량관리 단위유역 유량자료와 하천유량 측정망 자료의 연계성 분석 (Relationship between the Flow data on the Unit Watersheds and on the Stream Flow Monitoring Network)

  • It is very difficult to apply stream flow data directly to the management of Total Maximum Daily Loads because there are some differences between the unit watershed and the stream flow monitoring network in their characteristics such as monitoring locations and its intervals. Flow duration curve can be developed by linking the daily flow data of stream monitoring network to 8 day interval flow data of the unit watershed. This study investigated the current operating conditions of the stream flow monitoring network and the flow relationships between the unit watershed and the stream flow monitoring network. Criteria such as missing and zero value data, and correlation coefficients were applied to select the stream flow reference sites. The reference sites were selected in 112 areas out of 142 unit watersheds in 4 river basins, where the stream flow observations were carried out in relatively normal operating conditions. These reference sites could be utilized in various ways such as flow variation analysis, flow duration curve development and so on for the management of Total Maximum Daily Loads.

유한 DTV 스트림의 반복 재생시 불연속 현상 제거 (Elimination of Discontinuity Phenomenon for Repeated Play of Finite DTV Stream)

  • 유한한 DTV 디지털 스트림(digital stream)을 반복 재생할 경우, 반복되는 시점에서 일반적으로 블랙화면이나 음의 끊어짐과 같은 불연속 현상이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 스트림 반복 재생시의 불연속 현상의 원인을 소스(source) 및 스트림(stream)의 재생시간 분석을 통하여 규명한다. 또한 이 현상을 제거하기 위한 비디오 프레임율(frame rate)과 오디오 프레임율, 및 트랜스포트 스트림 (transport stream, TS) 전송율 사이의 관계를 구한다. 이 관계식을 이용하여 반복 재생시 불연속이 발생하지 않는 최소의 소스, 기초 스트림 (elementary stream, ES) 및 TS 제작 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법으로 구현된 ES와 TS를 방송시스템에 적용하여 실험한 결과 반복 재생시 불연속 현상이 발생하지 않음을 확인한다.

하천공간 확보를 위한 홍수의 공간적 범람 분석 (Spatial Analysis of Flood Inundation for Ensuring Stream Space)

  • 본 연구는 만경강 유역을 대상으로 하천을 하도경사를 이용하여 구분하고 빈도별 홍수량에 따라 확보해야 하는 공간과 홍수 방어 대책 수립 지역을 선정하였다. 하천 구분에 의한 분석결과 상류하천 유역에서는 빈도별 홍수량이 커져도 홍수범람면적의 변화가 작으나 하류 하천유역의 경우 빈도별 홍수량이 커짐에 따라 범람면적이 크게 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 하천구간별에 따라 주거지역 면적비율이 10%이하인 지역에 대해서는 하천공간 확보 가능 지역, 그리고 10% 이상인 지역은 홍수방어 보강지역으로 선정하고 분석 수행하였다. 분석결과 하류지역은 하천공간 확보 가능 지역이 많고, 상류지역은 홍수방어 보강지역이 많은 것으로 분석되었다. 향후 과거 하천 형태 및 습지 분포 위치 등을 고려한 하천공간 확보 가능지역을 분석하고자 한다.

도시하천의 생태경관 보전 및 복원구역 설정에 관한 연구 - 전주시 전주천과 삼천을 중심으로 - (The Establishment of Ecological Landscape Conservation and Restoration Sections for Urban Stream - Case studies of Jeonjucheon and Samcheon in Jeonju-si -)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the conservation and restoration areas for sustainable stream management by reflecting the ecological health, cultural characteristics, and the citizens' needs for stream uses. Therefore, we extended spatial ranges of stream evaluation to riparian areas in addition to stream sections. The evaluation indexes are stream naturalness, availability, biota assessment, and riparian characteristics such as land uses and legally protected areas. The grading system was unified with five classes. The spatial evaluation units for stream section are classified as right and left for laterally and 500m for longitudinally. For riparian areas, 30m and 100m of distance from the edge of stream are applied as spatial evaluation units. The six types of stream sections for management are conservation sections(priority/general) and restoration sections(priority/general) for ecological landscape and core and general sections for cultural landscape. The established system for evaluation and designating areas for stream management was applied to Jeonjucheon and Samcheon in Jeonju-si, and the conservation and restoration areas were designated reflecting the characteristics of urban and non-urban areas and left and right of stream sections. The results of this study will provide detailed guidelines for designating stream sections and practical management strategies for sustainable urban stream management.

강원도 양양군 광정친 및 남대친산 은어의 요꼬가와흡충 피낭유충 감염상 (Infection status of sweetfish from Kwangjune-stream and Namdae-stream in Yangyang-gun, Kangwon-do with the metaeereariae of Metagonimus yokogawai)

  • 1989년 8월 강원도 양양군 현북면 광정천과 양양읍 남대천에서 잡은 은어에서 요꼬가와 흡충 피낭유충 감염상을 조사하였다. 광정천산 은어는 조사한 28마리 모두(100%)가 피낭유충 양성이었고 어체 마리당 89∼521개 (평균 224개), 어육 g당 12∼55개 (평균 22개)의 감염량을 나타내었으나, 남대천산 은어(6마리)에서는 피낭유충이 검출되지 않았다. 이상의 결과로 강원도 양양군 현북면 지역이 요꼬가와흡충 유행지의 하나임을 확인하였다. A Review of Stream Assessment Methodologies and Restoration: The Case of Virginia, USA

  • Rapid population growth and land use changes have severely degraded streams across the United States. In response, there has been a surge in the number of stream restoration projects, including stream restoration for mitigation purposes. Currently, most projects do not include evaluation and monitoring, which are critical in the success of stream restoration projects. The goal of this study is to review the current status of assessment methodologies and restoration approaches for streams in Virginia, with the aim of assisting the restoration community in making sound decisions. As part of the study, stream restoration projects data from a project in Fairfax County, Virginia was assessed. This review revealed that the stream assessment methodologies currently applied to restoration are visuallybased and do not include biological data collection and/or a method to incorporate watershed information. It was found from the case study that out of the twenty nine restoration projects that had occurred between 1995 and 2003 in Fairfax County, nineteen projects reported bank stabilization as a goal or the only goal, indicating an emphasis on a single physical component rather than on the overall ecological integrity of streams. It also turned out that only seven projects conducted any level of monitoring as part of the restoration, confirming the lack of evaluation and monitoring. However, Fairfax County has recently improved its stream restoration practices by developing and incorporating watershed management plans. This now provides one of the better cases that might be looked upon by stakeholders when planning future stream restoration projects.

Colonization and community changes in benthic macroinvertebrates in Cheonggye Stream, a restored downtown stream in Seoul, Korea

  • Colonization patterns and community changes in benthic macroinvertebrates in the Cheonggye Stream, a functionally restored stream in downtown Seoul, Korea, were studied from November 2005 to November 2007. Benthic macroinvertebrates were quantitatively sampled 15 times from five sites in the stream section. Taxa richness (59 species in total) increased gradually over the first year, whereas the density revealed seasonal differences with significantly lower values in the winter season and after flood events. The benthic macroinvertebrate fauna may have drifted from the upstream reaches during floods and from the Han River, arrived aerially, or hitchhiked on artificially planted aquatic plants. Oligochaeta, Chironommidae, Psychodidae, and Hydropsychidae were identified as major community structure contributors in the stream. Swimmers and clingers colonized relatively earlier in the upper and middle reaches, whereas burrowers dominated particularly in the lower reaches. Collector-gatherers colonized at a relatively early period throughout the stream reaches, and collector-filterers, such as the net-spinning caddisfly (Cheumatopyche brevilineata), predominated in the upper and middle reaches after a 1-year time period. Cluster analyses and multi-response permutation procedures demonstrated that the Cheonggye Stream shares more similarities with the Jungnang Stream than with the Gapyeong Stream. Detrended correspondence analysis and nonmetric multidimensional scaling demonstrated that physical environmental factors (depth, current velocity, dissolved oxygen, and pH) as well as nutrients (total nitrogen and total phosphorous), water temperature, and conductivity could affect the distribution of benthic macroinvertebrates in the study streams.

낙동강수계 지류 수질자료를 통한 수질개선 우선순위 선정 (Priority Selection of Water Quality Improvement Through Water Quality Data of Tributaries of Nakdong River)

  • The "Master Plan for the Revitalization of Water in the Nakdong River" is designed for the fundamental improvement of water quality in the Nakdong River. The water quality and flow of the Nakdong River system tributaries was monitored in this study. Among the living environmental standard parameters of 195 rivers, BOD (Biochemical oxygen demand), T-P (Total phosphorus) and TOC (Total organic carbon) were assessed to analyze the water quality from 2012 to 2019. We examined the role of TOC. It was found that 12 rivers exceeded the water quality of the second grade (3.0 mg/L BOD standard, 0.1 mg/L T-P standard, 4.0 mg/L TOC standard) based on BOD and T-P concentrations: the Gumi stream, Gisegok stream, Yongha stream, Yongho stream, Changnyeong stream, Gajwa stream, Gwangok stream, Yeongsan stream, Toerae stream, Hwapo stream, Sangnam stream and Hogye stream. These rivers require strategies to improve the quality of the Nakdong River. Based on the ongoing project, it is possible to supplement the "Master Plan for the Revitalization of Water in the Nakdong River" and manage it after verifying it as a component of people's life and therefore used to establish water quality control measures.

Relationships among a Habitat-Riparian Indexing System (HIS), Water Quality, and Land Coverage: a Case Study in the Main Channel of the Yangsan Stream (South Korea)

  • In this study a total of 27 stream sites, at 1 km intervals, were monitored for simple physicochemical water characteristics, land coverage patterns, and stream environment characteristics using the Habitat-riparian Indexing System (HIS), in the Yangsan Stream. The HIS has been tested in previous research, resulting in some identification of advantages in the application to the stream ecosystems data. Even though reliable stream environment characterization was possible using HIS, there was no information about the application of this tool to present continuity of environmental changes in stream systems. Also the necessity was raised to compare the results of HIS application with land coverage information in order to provide useful information in management strategy development. The monitoring results of this study showed that changes of environmental degradation were well represented by HIS. Especially, stream environment degradation due to construction was relatively well reflected in the HIS monitoring results, and the main causality of Yangsan Stream degradation was expansion of the urbanized area. In addition, there were significant relationships between the HIS scores and land coverage information. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare appropriate options in controlling or managing the expansion of the industrialized areas in this stream basin in order to improve the stream environment. For this purpose, ensemble utilization of HIS results, water quality, and geographical information, resulting in integration with remote sensing processes can be possible.

해석적 모형을 이용한 지하수 양수 및 하천수위 변화에 따른 하천수 감소 특성 분석 (Analysis of Stream Depletion due to Groundwater Pumping in Variable Stream Stages Using an Analytical Model)

  • 하천 건천화 예방 및 하천수와 지하수의 효율적 연계 이용을 위해서는 지하수 이용이 하천의 수량에 미치는 영향 평가가 수반되어야 한다. 이를 위해서는 대수층과 하천의 다양한 수리특성 조건에 대해 지하수 양수에 따른 하천수량의 변화 분석이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 하천수위 변동을 반영할 수 있고 지하수 양수에 따른 하천수 감소량을 산정할 수 있는 Baalousha 해석해를 이용하여 하천수위가 지수함수적으로 감소하는 경우와, 감소 후 다시 회복되는 경우에 대해 지하수 양수로 인한 하천수 감소량의 변화 특성을 분석하였다. 대수층의 수리특성으로 투수량계수 10~100 ㎡/d 및 저류계수 0.05~0.3, 하천의 수리특성으로 하상수리전도성 0.01~20 m/d, 하천수위 감수상수 0.1~1.0 1/d, 그리고 하천과 관정의 이격거리 100~500 m 조건에 대해 지하수 양수량 대비 하천수 감소량인 하천수 기여도를 산정하고 그 거동 특성을 하천수위 변동 유무에 따라 종합적으로 분석, 제시하였다. 하천수위 감소 영향을 고려하였을 경우 하천수 기여도가 크게 감소하고 하천-관정 이격거리와 수리확산도의 함수인 하천고갈인자 값에 영향을 작게 받는 것으로 나타났으며, 반면에 하천수위 감소 후 회복되는 조건에서의 하천수 기여도는 하천수위 변동이 없는 경우와 큰 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 하천수위 조절을 통해 지하수 양수시 하천수 및 대수층 저류량에 미치는 상대적 영향의 통제가 가능함을 의미한다.
