Purpose: This study aims to prove effects of an oriental medical complex therapy on vitiligo patients who have experienced the Eximer laser therapy. Method: The study conducted its investigation targeting these four patients who have not been observed with any satisfactory reaction to the Eximer laser therapy. The study analyzed the findings through the comparison on the pictures before and after the therapy. Result: After comparing the pictures, the study confirmed positive changes in the conditions of the patients. The oriental medical complex therapy turned out to be effective enough to treat the patients who have gone through the Eximer laser therapy before. Conclusion: Such result leads the study to a conclusion that the oriental medical complex therapy can be an effective way to treat these patients who do not have a satisfactory reaction to the Eximer laser therapy. In addition, the author of the study suggests that more clinical trials should be conducted.

저자는 본 증례에서 한방치료를 통해 사지말단부인 손의 증상이 호전된 백반증 환자 증례를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. 하지만 4례의 증례만으로 부족한 점이 많고 앞으로 더욱 많은 임상 증례와 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to analyze the Chuna manual therapy usage status after the application of Chuna manual therapy health insurance. Methods This study analyzed the health insurance data (2019-2021). From April 2019 to December 2021, monthly data were collected by simple Chuna, complex Chuna (own expense 50%), complex Chuna (own expense 80%), and special (dislocation) Chuna. Results The major results are as follows. First, in hospital-level medical institutions, simple Chuna and complex Chuna (own expense 50%) occupied a similar proportion. In clinic-level medical institutions, simple Chuna occupies the largest proportion. Second, the amount of use decreased in all medical institutions after September, which is thought to be the result of restrictions on Chuna manual therapy health insurance. Conclusions Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research by receiving more detailed data onr Chuna manual therapy health insurance. Through this, an improved policy of Chuna manual therapy health insurance should be discussed.

Objectives : This study was to investigate the effectiveness of cupping therapy on peripheral facial paralysis. Methods : We investigated 39 cases of patients with peripheral facial paralysis, and devided patients into two groups : We treated one group by complex oriental medical treatment with cupping therapy, and did the other group by complex oriental medical treatment without cupping therapy. To evaluate the effectiveness of treatment applied for two groups, we used gross grading system of House-Brackmann(HB score), Yanagihara's unweighed grading system(Y score) at baseline and final. Results : 1. In cupping group and non-cupping group, compared with baseline, at final, HB score was significantly decreased and Y score was significantly increased. 2. At final, cupping group showed significant decrease on HB score and significant increase on Y score compared with non-cupping group. Conclusions : Cupping therapy can be available for relieving symptoms related with peripheral facial paralysis.

Objectives : We report a case of a patient with oculomotor nerve palsy accompanied by diabetes mellitus complication to show the efficacy of a treatment with Korean medical complex therapy. Methods & Results : We treated one patient by acupuncture, electroacupuncture, pharmacopuncture, herbal medication and Korean medical physical therapy. We measured the severity change in physical examination and had a result that the patient's symptom had improved. Conclusions : We suggest that Korean medical therapy including acupuncture, electroacupuncture, pharmacopuncture, herbal medication and Korean medical physical therapy have an effect with diabetes-associated oculomotor nerve palsy.

Objective : We performed this study to understand the trend of recent medical treatment on chronic prostatitis. Methods : We analyzed 20 manuscripts contributed to the Chinese medical journals from 1998 to 2004 that presenting report of recent medical treatment on chronic prostatitis. Results : The results are summarized as follows 1. In clinical cases, we investigate the cause of chronic prostitis was 'ha cho sup yol' 'ki wool' and 'hyul er'. also it combined complex causes. 2. Deep stimulation acu-therapy near prostate was more effective than other acu therapy. 3. External medical treatment was very efficient than other therapy that was rectal injection therapy, fumigation therapy etc. Conclusion : We conclusion that Rectal Injection therapy was clinical effect on chronic prostatitis.

Methods : We investigated 28 cases of patients with thoracolumbar compression fracture. We divided patients into two groups : We treated one group with complex oriental medical treatment focusing on Bee Venom Acupuncture therapy, and did the other group with complex oriental medical treatment focusing on acupuncture therapy. To investigate the effectiveness of treatment applied for two groups, we used Visual Analog Scale(VAS) and Oswestry Low-back Pain Disability Index(ODI). We compared the VAS score and ODI score of two groups statistically. Results : 1. Female is prominent in distribution of sex, the average age bracket is 70's, and the largest group was Faccidental fall in the distribution of cause. 2. In regard to level of injury, T12 was found to be most prominent, followed in turn by L1, L2. In regard to grade of clinical symptoms, Grade III was most prominent, followed by Grade IV, Grade II. 3. As a result of evaluation by using VAS score and ODI score, treatment score at final was significantly different from that at the baseline in each group. 4. After treatment, Bee Venom acupuncture therapy group showed significant difference on VAS score and ODI score compared with acupuncture therapy group. Conclusions : Bee Venom acupuncture therapy can be available for relieving symptoms related with thoracolumbar compression fracture.

The purpose of this article was to provide basic knowledge and treatment principles of patient with lymphedema, which was usually not treated at all, or the treatment given didn't work efficiently. Lmphedema is defined as an abnormal accumulation of protein-rich fluid, edema, and chronic inflammation within an extremity. Lmphedema may be classified as either primary results from defects with aplasia, hypoplasia, and hyperplasia in the lymphatic system at birth or secondary is caused by known precipitating factors such as cancer, infection, inflammation, radiation, surgery, or trauma etc. There are essentially several conservative treatment methods which has been utilized successfully to treat lymphedema in Samsung Medical Center. We used following procedures: CPT (Complex Physical therapy) or CDP (Complex Decongesitive Physical therapy) such as skin care, MLD (Manual Lymph Drainage), compression with short-stretch bandage, exercise, elevation, elastic stocking, and pneumatic compression. Our experiences shows that conservative treatments can significantly reduce lymphedema and prevent different complications.

Objectives : This study was done for reporting the effect of scratching method on patients with positional vertigo. Methods : We investigated 22 cases of patients with dizziness, and devided patients into two groups : We treated one group by complex oriental medical treatment with scratching method therapy, and did the other group by complex oriental medical treatment without scratching method therapy. Korean version of dizziness handicap inventory at baseline and final were used for evaluating the effect of the treatment. Results : 1. In scratching method group and non-scratching method group, compared with baseline, at final, Korean version of dizziness handicap inventory was significantly decreased. 2. At final, scratching method group showed significant decrease on Korean version of dizziness handicap inventory compared with non-scratching method group. Conclusions : Scratching method showed significant improvement in dizziness.
