Lately, neo-Chinese style furniture has been frequently noticed by product design professionals for the big part it played in promoting traditional Chinese culture. This article is an attempt to use big data semantic analysis method to provide effective design research method for neo-Chinese furniture design. By using big data mining program TEXTOM for big data collection and analysis, the data obtained from typical websites in a set time period will be sorted and analyzed. On the basis of "neo-Chinese furniture" samples, key data will be compared, classification analysis of overall data, and horizontal analysis of typical data will be performed by the methods of word frequency analysis, connection centrality analysis, and TF-IDF analysis. And we tried to summarize according to the related views and theories of the design. The research results show that the results of data analysis are close to the relevant definitions of design. The core high-frequency vocabulary obtained under data analysis, such as popular, furniture, modern, etc., can provide a reasonable and effective focus of attention for the designs. The result obtained through the systematic sorting and summary of the data can be a reliable guidance in the direction of our design. This research attempted to introduce related big data mining semantic analysis methods into the product design industry, to supply scientific and objective data and channels for studies on design, and to provide a case on the practical application of big data analysis in the industry.

The purpose of this study is to arrange the modification and the changes of modern fniture in Korea. The results of this study are as follows: 1) The style of traditional furniture was influenced by changes in class structure and social system, an increase in Honsu norms in terms of both quantity and quality, family, marrige, housing patterns, and behavioral patterns etc. 2) Modern furniture in Korea devided into two groups, one was traditiional group of innovative function and scale, the other was electing group of Japanase or Western style. 3) Due to the Honsu norms, Wedding furniture items became more various in kind. There are several way to classify the furniture. The furniture can be classified into use, style, and function, but if the furniture is classified into the way of production, it can be the industrial furniture and the studio furniture. Especially, technology and function of the furniture are important elements in industrial furniture. However, it could be considered artists' character and concept as more important elements in the studio furniture. The studio furniture had come out one of the historical movement in American furniture field after the World War II. This case to apply found objects began to increase after the 1970s. Using objects In furniture design field had built up sprightly after end of 1950s. This expression could be the statement of new expression that essential properties of matter in objects is removed. I try to suggest original and interesting furniture design to apply found objects in this thesis. Especially, I use the Korean traditional objects for the furniture and try to make their essential function to be changed. Also, I focus on furniture design to have formative element in their shapes.

The purpose of this study was to analyze behavioral patterns of elderly residents and to identify the characteristics of using furniture and home appliances by elderly-headed households. For this purpose, field studies that included observation and open-ended interview were conducted with 52 households. The data was analyzed with frequency, chi-square test by SPSS 14.0 for windows. The major findings of this study were that: 1) Elderly households had more sitting-down style furniture which was a traditional living mode than western style furniture. 2) They experienced inconvenience to use home appliances that were not designed for the aged. 3) Their behavioral patterns were related with family type and income.

The purpose of this study is to investigate identity of Korean resident's on housing in Canada. A questionnaire survey method was used to collect data for this study. Results of the analyses showed that Korean styled decorations were the most possessions to express their identity, while the possession degrees of Korean household goods and Korean style furniture were relatively low. An electric mat and a low table were frequently being used in their home. The using degree of these goods were significantly different according to the residential period in Canada. Almost Korean-canadian tended to have a style of sitting on the floor in the behavior of sewing, ironing, entertaining, watching the T.V. This behavior style were significantly different according to family income, houses style, the house ownership.

The Joseon dynasty had close communication with the Ming and Qing dynasties on multiple levels. In the development process of furniture modeling design, the same cultural source and mutual communication, and the same factor was reflected in each other's furniture modeling. In this paper, "Furniture in the later Joseon Period" and "Ming style furniture" are taken as the research noumenon, table furniture as the specific research object, and from the perspective of "similarity" in the history of exchanges between the two countries, the overall modeling design and the local modeling design are selected to discuss the modeling design of traditional furniture in the two countries. In the analysis of specific research cases, there are similar genes in the overall modeling design of table furniture such as soban, warp bed and inkstone bed in the later Joseon Dynasty and table furniture such as kang, square table, wine table and incense table in the Ming and qing dynasties. In terms of local modeling, the appearance of similar desktop, cloud horn, leg, foot and other modeling designs better confirms the similarity in modeling design between the two countries. In this paper for "type of air hole" formative source speculated that traditional furniture is for Korean peninsula a tentative study of cultural studies. Considering the fact that the exchanges between Korea and China are expanding in many aspects, exploring the similarities in the traditional furniture will help to analyze the cultural exchanges between the two countries and promote the exchanges.

The purpose of this study is to find out the current trend of tradition in Modern Korean Residential-furniture. Sample furniture of 374 pieces made by 21 manufacturers which have been shown in the market in September 2000, are selected for this study. To find out the traditional trend, frequency and percentage are used. As the result of the study, the major trend of design in Modern Korean Residential-furniture is modern style based on Modernism. However, it was found that there are tendency while large firms add western traditional elements in their furniture, small manufactures are trying to develop original furniture design which expresses Korean traditional characteristics. It means that the Korean traditional characteristics are not widely spread in Modern Residential-furniture.

This study explores terminology for legs and feet in the traditional Korean and Western furniture. Pieces of traditional Korean and Western furniture have been largely made of the eco-friendly material, natural wood, and thus important in the latest trends of wellness, such as LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) and a green period. Legs in traditional Korean furniture appeared in dinging tables, and the feet in wardrobes. The limited use of legs and feet seems to be influenced by floor-oriented lifestyles of Korean ancestors. In contrast, most pieces of Western furniture, which is from the chair and bed culture, have various styles of foot and leg. While th two groups are from different backgrounds, both of them have developed various legs and feet applying natural subjects such as animals and plants to each of their furniture including wardrobes, cabinets, dining tables, chairs, consoles, etc. It is also found that the traditional Korean furniture can be influenced by a traditional Chinese chair foot called Neabunmajae, which describes inner horse foot. Neabunmajae was known in Korean furniture legs and feet, but the terminology has not been known. The study suggests that terms which appear in traditional furniture but are unknown should be studied more.

Recently, demand for designing own space is increasing as the rapid growth of home furnishing market. However, there is a limitation that it is not easy to compare the style between before construction view and after view. This study aims to translate real image into another style with GAN model learned with interior images. To implement this, first we established style criteria and collected modern, natural, and classic style images, and experimented with ResNet, UNet, Gradient penalty concept to CycleGAN algorithm. As a result of training, model recognize common indoor image elements, such as floor, wall, and furniture, and suitable color, material was converted according to interior style. On the other hand, the form of furniture, ornaments, and detailed pattern expressions are difficult to be recognized by CycleGAN model, and the accuracy lacked. Although UNet converted images more radically than ResNet, it was more stained. The GAN algorithm allowed us to represent results within 2 seconds. Through this, it is possible to quickly and easily visualize and compare the front and after the interior space style to be constructed. Furthermore, this GAN will be available to use in the design rendering include interior.

Purpose of this paper is find the similarity and dissimilarity of Korean, Chinese and Japanese traditional furnitures for storage. Also this paper tries to have a comparative analysis on life style, characteristics of housing space and furniture's form of three countries. The study can be summarized as follows. First, space scale and seat levels of three countries are related to furniture's height and form, so that Chinese furniture have over scale than human, and Japanese furniture have the type of box for stacking. Second, the way of heating and materials of floors are concerned with the type of furniture's legs. Third, even if these dissimilarities, the aesthetic characteristics of three countries furniture would be a data base for making design identity of East Asian modern housing furniture.
