고분자 중공사 분리막을 이용한 $N_2/SF_6$ 혼합가스로부터 $SF_6$의 분리 및 회수 (Separation and Recovery of $SF_6$ Gas from $N_2/SF_6$ Gas Mixtures by using a Polymer Hollow Fiber Membranes)

  • $SF_6$는 IPCC가 평가한 온난화 지수가 가장 큰 물질이다. 이런 $SF_6$ 가스의 처리를 위하여 현재는 고에너지의 분해 기술이 사용되고 있지만 최근 분리막을 이용한 분리 및 회수 기술이 주목을 받고 있다. $SF_6$가 중간권으로 방출될 경우 광분해 또는 이온 반응을 일으켜 높은 독성과 부식성을 지닌 부산물을 발생시키는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 현재 분리막을 이용한 $SF_6$ 가스의 회수 분리에 관한 연구 동향을 살펴보면 다양한 분리막 재질에 대한 투과특성연구가 부족하다. 또한, 실제 폐 $SF_6$ 가스 농도에 대한 연구와 에너지 효율이 높은 운전조건의 분리 회수 연구는 초기단계이다. 그러므로, 본 연구에서는 상용화된 PSF (polysulfone), PC (tetra-bromo polycarbonate)와 PI (polyimide) 중공사 분리막을 사용한 $SF_6$, $N_2$ 단일기체의 투과도 연구 및 폐 $SF_6$ 가스 농도의 $SF_6/N_2$ 혼합기체를 사용하여 상용화된 PSF, PC와 PI 중공사 분리막과 운전조건 변화에 따른 $SF_6$ 가스의 분리 회수 연구를 수행하였다. 고분자 중공사 분리막에 대한 $SF_6$$N_2$의 투과 특성 실험 결과, $N_2/SF_6$ 투과선택도는 PI 중공사분리막이 가장 높고, PC 중공사 분리막이 가장 낮은 결과를 보였다. $SF_6/N_2$ 혼합기체의 분리 특성연구에서 회수된 $SF_6$의 농도를 비교할 경우, PC 중공사 분리막이 0.5 MPa일 때 95.6 vol %로 가장 높았다. $SF_6$의 회수율에서는 PSF 중공사 분리막이 운전압력 0.3 MPa, 배출유량 150 cc/min일 때 최대 97.8%로 가장 높았다. 이상의 결과로부터 분리막을 이용한 폐 $SF_6$ 가수의 분리 및 회수 기술은 향후 $SF_6$ 가스의 대표적 친환경 기술로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

Self-renewal and circulating capacities of metastatic hepatocarcinoma cells required for collaboration between TM4SF5 and CD44

  • Tumor metastasis involves circulating and tumor-initiating capacities of metastatic cancer cells. Hepatic TM4SF5 promotes EMT for malignant growth and migration. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) biomarkers remain unexplored for metastatic potential throughout metastasis. Here, novel TM4SF5/CD44 interaction-mediated self-renewal and circulating tumor cell (CTC) capacities were mechanistically explored. TM4SF5-dependent sphere growth was correlated with $CD133^+$, $CD24^-$, ALDH activity, and a physical association between CD44 and TM4SF5. The TM4SF5/CD44 interaction activated c-Src/STAT3/ Twist1/ B mi1 signaling for spheroid formation, while disturbing the interaction, expression, or activity of any component in this signaling pathway inhibited spheroid formation. In serial xenografts of less than 5,000 cells/injection, TM4SF5-positive tumors exhibited locally-increased CD44 expression, suggesting tumor cell differentiation. TM4SF5-positive cells were identified circulating in blood 4 to 6 weeks after orthotopic liver-injection. Anti-TM4SF reagents blocked their metastasis to distal intestinal organs. Altogether, our results provide evidence that TM4SF5 promotes self-renewal and CTC properties supported by $CD133^+/TM4SF5^+/CD44^+^{(TM4SF5-bound)}/ALDH^+/CD24^-$ markers during HCC metastasis.

서울 관악산 대기 중의 $SF_6$에 관한 연구 (Atmospheric Sulfur Hexafluoride $(SF_6)$ near the Kwanak Mountain, Seoul)

  • Sulfur hexafluoride ($SF_6$), man-made compound, has been paid attention as a potent greenhouse gas. After Kyoto Pototcol on Climate Change in 1997, nations established the policy aimed at minimizing release of $SF_6$ to atmosphere. We have developed and operated an automatic analytical system for monitoring atmospheric $SF_6$ using gas chromatography with electron capture detector (GC-ECD) and packed separate-column. Here, we report and discuss 4-month record of atmospheric $SF_6$ concentrations monitored at Seoul National University (SNU) pilot station near the Kwanak Mountain, Seoul. Most of observed $SF_6$ concentrations were excessively high compared with Northern Hemisphere (NH) background trend obtained from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL) monitoring stations. And the observed $SF_6$ showed extremely wide variability ranging from 4.6 pptv to $1.1{\times}10^3$ pptv, which may be affected by local sources placed nearby. Simultaneous wind data with $SF_6$ measurements show that relatively high values of $SF_6$ correspond to weak wind as well as southerly. There are many engineering installations to the south of the station. The regional value of the atmospheric $SF_6$ estimated from the data selection by wind conditions is about 6.8 pptv. This value, which is similar to concentrations of urban areas, is higher than NH background concentration.

  • The effective ionization coefficient in $SF_{6}$/$N_{2}$ mixtures was attempted to derive from the pure gases. Measurements of static breakdown voltage were made under the uniform field at pressures up to 4 bar in order to compare with the results obtained from this assumption. The relative performance of $SF_{6}$/$N_{2}$ mixtures to pure $SF_{6}$ was also investigated. The effect of surface roughness on discharge thresholds in $SF_{6}$/$N_{2}$ mixtures was calculated employing the simplified model and mesurements of breakdown voltages for a gap with an artificial protrustion were also made. The experimental results show that the effective ionization coefficient in gas mixtures can not be reliably estimated from the values measured for the pure gases. Therefore, basic parameters for $SF_{6}$/$N_{2}$ mixtures must be measured by investigation of the mixtures themselves. The relative performance of mixtures to pure $SF_{6}$ could be considered with the values of pR.

  • In this dissertation the results of the combined experimental and theoretical studies designed to understand and predict the spatial growth and transport coefficients for electrons in $SF_6$ and $SF_6-Ar$ mixtures have described. The transport coefficients for electrons in (0.1[%]) $SF_6-Ar$, (0.5[%])$SF_6-Ar$,(1.0[%])$SF_6-Ar$,(3.0[%])$SF_6-Ar$ and(5.0[%]) $SF_6-Ar$ mixtures were measured by time-of- flight method, and the electron energy distribution function and the parameters of the velocity and the diffusion were determined by the variation of the collision cross-sections with energy.

  • [ $SF_6$ ] gas circuit breakers are widely used for short circuit current interruption in EHV(Extra High Voltage) or UHV(Ultra High Voltage) power systems. To develop $SF_6$ gas circuit breakers, the arc resistance value is necessary to compare experimental results to numerical ones. The arc resistance value can be obtained from a breaking test with a $SF_6$ gas circuit breaker. The direct testing or synthetic testing facility is widely used to verify the breaking ability for $SF_6$ gas circuit breakers. We employed the simplified synthetic testing facility to test a $SF_6$ gas circuit breaker prototype. The arc resistance characteristic was measured and calculated under the various experimental conditions. This arc resistance value can be used for verifying the numerical results from arc simulation in a circuit breakers.

  • In this paper the experiments of insulation characteristics by temperature change of $SF_6$ gas and insulation characteristics about liquid $SF_6$ in GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear) were described. From this result, at low temperature, the breakdown voltage was increased with a drop of temperature and an increase of the inner pressure in GIS. The ability of insulation in liquid $SF_6$ was higher than that of the highly pressurized $SF_6$ gas. A liquid $SF_6$ discharge characteristics was caused by bubble formed evaporation of liquid $SF_6$ and bubble when high voltage apply to electrode. Corona was happened to weak bubble and was proceed to new bubble breakdown.

A liquid $SF_6$ discharge characteristics was caused by bubble formed evaporation of liquid $SF_6$ and bubble caused by high electric emission. It is considered that these result are fundamental data for electric insulation design of superconductor and cryogenic application machinery which will be studied and developed in the future.

  • This paper describes partial discharge phenomenon with SF6gas pressures in insulation consisting of insulation paper and SF6 gas. We made the specimens with SF6 gas gaps which exist between aramid papers and electrodes and calculated the electric field intensity in the these gaps. We measured the partial discharge inception voltages and the AC breakdown voltages with the test method of IEC 60060-2 and did the partial discharge degradation experiments with a constant voltage. According to gas pressures, the breakdown voltages in SF6gas gaps were calculated by Paschen's law. And these results showed the ability applying partial discharge inception voltages evaluation to Paschen's law and the relationship between the PD quantities occurring insulation breakdown and PD occurring area.
