The objective of this study is to investigate conservative treatment of pelvic fracture, and report that Korean rehabilitation treatment is effective for pelvic fracture. We reported a case about pelvic fracture treated with Korean rehabilitation treatment. We searched 10 domestic electronic databases to find reports on conservative treatment of pelvic fracture. We selected and analyzed 12 studies. In this case, pain, range of motion, and Oswestry Disability Index of patient were improved by Korean rehabilitation treatment. In analysis, traction, pelvic sling, hip spica cast, pelvic belt, medication are used in western medical treatment. Acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, moxibustion, physical therapy, manual therapy are used in Korean medical treatment. Most of conservative treatments are effective for pain, bone union, osteoporosis, dysfunction. In this study, we expect further study of Korean rehabilitation treatment program for pelvic fracture to compensate existing conservative treatment.

The purpose of this study is to report the effects of Korean medicine treatment in baastrup's disease. We treated the patient for 34 days using Korean medicine treatment such as acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, herbal medicine, Chuna manual therapy and help motion style acupuncture treatment. Numerical rating scale (NRS), EuroQol five dimension (EQ-5D) index, Oswestry disability index (ODI), and lumbar range of motion (ROM) were used as evaluation tools for the state. NRS decrease from 5 to 3, and EQ-5D index, ODI, L-spine ROM were improved by the treatment. In conclusion, this case study shows that Korean medicine treatment can be effective for baastrup's disease.

The purpose of this study is to report the effect of combined acupuncture treatment on acute ankle sprain patients. The subjects included in this study were 15 acute ankle sprain patients who visited Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine from Oct. 15th, 2012 to Feb. 8th, 2013. We treated 15 patients with combined acupuncture treatment. The treatment consisted of Hwangrunhaedok-tang (Huanglianjiedutang) pharmacupuncture, electroacupuncture (applied to GB39, ST36 on the affected side), acupuncture (applied to TE17, SI6 on the unaffected side with Dong-Qi therapy). To assess the effect of treatment, the numeric rating scale (NRS) was applied before and after treatment. After first combined acupuncture treatment, the NRS scores significantly decreased from $8.33{\pm}0.94$ to $2.26{\pm}0.44$ (p<0.01). We suggested that Combined acupuncture treatment are effective and useful on acute ankle sprain. And, further studies will be needed.

We treated the patient for 8 days using Korean medicine treatment such as herbal medicine, acupuncture, Chuna manual therapy and pharmacopuncture. Changes in the numerical rating scale (NRS), EuroQol five dimension (EQ-5D) index, and symptoms were measured for assessment. After 8 days hospitalization, NRS decreased from 5 to 3, EQ-5D index and the symptoms of the patient also were improved. In conclusion, this case shows that Korean medicine treatment can be an effective treatment for wrist drop with thoracic outlet syndrome.

The purpose of this study is to report the effectiveness of diarrhea-inducing treatment by Gamsui-mal for lumbar spinal stenosis. During hospitalization four patients with lumbar spinal stenosis were treated with diarrhea-inducing treatment by Gamsui-mal and acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion, cupping treatment, Bee-venom pharmacopuncture. Before treatment, we explained in detail about diarrhea-inducing treatment by Gamsui-mal and patients agreed with treatment. The symptoms appeared in patients of diarrhea, abdominal pain, and vomiting in the treatment process. We evaluated the degree of improvement by visual analogue scale (VAS), oswestry disability index (ODI). After treatment, we found that pain was reduced and patient's symptoms were improved by visual analogue scale (VAS), oswestry disability index (ODI) score. The results show that diarrhea-inducing treatment by Gamsui-mal was rapidly improving symptoms. Further studies are needed to clarify the effect of diarrhea-inducing treatment by Gamsui-mal.

Rehabilitation treatments after orthopedic surgery promote postoperative healing in humans. In veterinary medicine, there is increased interest in rehabilitation treatments because they are potentially beneficial to animals in the post-operation period. This study examined the effectiveness of rehabilitation treatment in dogs that underwent orthopedic surgeries, including femoral head & neck ostectomy (FHNO) and medial patellar luxation treatment (MPLT). The group that received the rehabilitation treatment after FHNO (1.88 weeks) showed a significantly shorter recovery length of 6.62 weeks compared to those that did not receive the treatment (8.50 weeks). The other group that received the rehabilitation treatment after MPLT (4.38 weeks) showed a significantly shorter recovery length of 5.01 weeks compared to those that did not receive the treatment (9.39 weeks). For the qualitative evaluation, the types and frequencies of rehabilitation treatments were monitored. The rehabilitation programs used frequently were heat therapy, laser therapy, passive range of motion, exercise therapy, and aquatic therapy. A standard rehabilitation program after hindlimb surgery was suggested based on the quantitative and qualitative investigation. The results add additional evidence that showed the beneficial effects of rehabilitation treatments in dogs.

The aim of this study was to propose our rehabilitation protocol involving Korean medicine for patients with patellar fracture and report its effectiveness. Further, for the same patellar fracture patients, we created different protocols for those who underwent surgical treatment and those who required conservative treatment. Among patients who received inpatient treatment at our hospital for three years from August 2017 to August 2020, we included three patients who underwent surgical treatment for patellar fracture and one patient who required conservative treatment for patellar fracture. The degree of improvement of the patients was evaluated using physical examination findings of the knee joint, numeric rating scale, pain disability index, Lysholm knee score, and walking state. After each treatments, we observed that the range of motion of the knee joint, numeric rating scale, pain disability index, Lysholm knee score, and walking state improved in the patient groups. Even with the same patellar fracture, we observed that different rehabilitation treatments involving Korean medicine should be applied to patients who underwent surgical treatment and those who required conservative treatment. However, further studies are needed to design a rehabilitation protocol involving Korean medicine.

Objectives Low back pain causes disability and incurs large socioeconomic burden. Many cases of acute low back pain progress into chronic conditions. As the treatment period extends, burden of socioeconomic expenses also rises. Thus this study is to investigate whether history period influences improvement rate of pain and disability in the patients who receive conservative Korean medicine treatment. Methods 447 inpatients who received conservative Korean Medicine treatment for the management of low back pain have been grouped into acute, sub-acute and chronic according to the length of history period. NRS, ODI and improvement rate of each group were investigated. Treatment every patient has received as follow; acupuncture, herbal medicine, Chuna manipulation, bee venom, and physical treatment. Results Acute patients showed improvement with NRS of $3.98{\pm}2.50$ and ODI of $28.04{\pm}21.54$. The NRS of sub-acute patients showed improvement with NRS of $2.81{\pm}2.07$, ODI also showed improvement with $11.64{\pm}13.94$. Statistically significant difference was observed in NRS, ODI and improvement for acute patients. Improvement in pain and disability was observed to be larger. Conclusions It demonstrated that receiving valid conservative Korean medicine treatment is beneficial for low back pain patients in improvement of their pain and disability.

Meralgia paresthetica is a rare femoral disease and various symptoms appear such as pain, numbness, and paresthesia in the anterolateral thigh due to entrapment of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. We treated the meralgia paresthetica patients with Korean medicine treatment including herbal medicine, acupuncture, Chuna manual therapy and pharmacopuncture during 12 days. Numerical rating scale (NRS), Euroqol five dimension (EQ-5D) index, and the changes of symptoms were measured for assessment. After 12 days inpatient treatment, NRS decreased from 7 to 4, EQ-5D index and the symptoms of the patient also were improved. In conclusion, this case shows Korean medicine treatment might be an effective treatment for Meralgia paresthetica.

The objective of this study is to report an accidental detection of colorectal cancer (CRC) metastasis to spine during conservative treatment for lumbar disc herniation. We treated a 65-year-old female who was diagnosed with lumbar disc herniation on September 2019 by acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, cupping treatment, chuna manual therapy, herbal medicine treatment, medicine treatment and physical therapy. After that we analyzed medical record from December 12, 2019 to February 11, 2020. The patient was diagnosed with CRC and received tumor resection in 2014. After 2 times of chemotherapy, she arbitrarily interrupted the treatment. Since she stated that CRC treatment was terminated, we had difficulty in finding connection between symptom and CRC. During the treatment period, compression fracture at L3 body was found, which was caused by CRC metastasis. Rigorous question, appropriate radiological and clinical tests are required to patients who have history of malignant tumor.
