Music sampling, which has been popular since hip-hop DJs used it in the 1970s, is now one of methods of producing music that is used regardless of genre or country. In this study, an overall production methodology for music sampling was presented through in terms of content and techniques. First of all, in terms of the contents, we classified them into the reuse and length of materials, and the function of samples in the mixed songs. In terms of the techniques, editing and effecting techniques were classified. By combining these elements, the methodology of music sampling applicable to the productions as well as the analysis was presented. Based on this methodology, the sampled songs of Korean Popular musicians - Jang Ki-ha and Faces, Epik High, The Quiet, and DJ DOC - were successfully analysed. Through the analysis process, the organic relationship of elements within the methodology was investigated, and the results of the analysis showed the effectiveness of the proposed methodology. This study can be meaningful in laying the groundwork for applying music sampling directly when actually producing songs or analyzing sampled songs.

Korean Classical Music, as the abbreviated wording for 'Korean Music', is being used as the indicating phraseology for our traditional music that distinguishing from Western Music, the foreign music or foreign-styled popular music. Since such Korean Classical Music has the different acoustic characteristics from Western Music, it needs its own performance space for the special exclusive-use of Korean Classical Music. Likewise, even though the demand for the performance space of special exclusive-use for Korean Classical Music where Korean Classical Music is rendering, is on increasing tendency due to the increase of national concern about traditional culture art, since it is being planned without any concrete standard or method that gratifies the supreme listening condition, it is the real situation that a securement of the satisfying acoustic condition is very difficult, after the completion of construction. On such viewpoint, in order to evaluate the acoustic characteristics of the performance space of special exclusive-use for Korean Classical Music, based on the subjective response which reflects human being's psychological attribute at first, this Study has attempted to extract the proper evaluation vocabulary for appraisement on Korean Classical Music. The abstracted vocabulary in such way would be used significantly for Subjective Response Evaluation in order for the evaluation on the Acoustic Characteristics of the performance space of special exclusive-use for Korean Classical Music.

Band Wittgenstein is a relatively band-shaped team since Shin Hae-Chul's previous big band "Next." The album, which features Shin Hae-Chul's unique lyrics and specific concepts, is also similar to the Next albums. However, there is a difference in sounds used on the album that are properly fused sampling based work and computer music. This album is a low-budget home recording album produced at a total cost of 3 million won. Shin Hae-Chul was in charge of the main vocals and programming, and all of the works were done together by the band members. In this album, Shin Hae-Chul focused on teamwork rather than producing his own music. The low budget could have been a constraint on music production, but it must be highly appreciated for it being a novel attempt. Musicians who create music always create conflicts between their favorite music and popular ones. However, without creative efforts, there is no evolution or development in the music industry. It is clear that constant changes can continue to develop musical ability, which leads to the development of Korean pop music.

The objective of this treatise is to study the effect which rock'n'roll had on fashion through the fashion of rock'n'roll stars and contemporary youngsters. The United states of America in the 1950's when rock'n'roll came into existence was an opulent and luxurious period. People's spare time increased and teenagers who grew up in oppulence after World War II emlerged. It was rock'n'roll that comprised the background of their culture. Rock'n'roll music, which was in the mixed form of Negro's rhythm and blues, and country -and-western of Southern hillbilly Rock'n'roll was expressed as a 'culture', characterized by both the luxurious and oppulent culture and the'anti-establishment' defying it. This cultural characteristic emerged as at once the conservative fashion following the contemporary fashion and the anti-establishment fashion in the rock'n'roll fashion. Therefore, the rock'n'roll fashion influenced by popular music became one momentum of including popular music among factors affecting the twentieth-century modern fashion.

The Korean Music stars since 1990s have been made, fabricated and have excessively depended on the demand of the teenagers. Therefore their distinctive fashion-presentation is considered as more important element than those of the past. Consequently. the characteristics of the fashion-presentation in the Korean Music star these days are as follows : First. Music stars shows fashion-presentation that has a consistent fashion theme. That is one of the key success factor to raise the recognition of star singer. Second. Music star produces fashion images which reflects identity and of subculture. Those appearance have won wild popularity of the Peeps 1990's new generation. Third. although there is no change music genre and emotion. through merely renovation of their fashion image, Music star got diversity and originality of the characteristics of contemporary cultural goods. Fourth. In case of famous dance groups, in the past they maintained a singular atmosphere as a group, but in 1990'Music star group each members of the group have individually fashion-presentation. The purpose of this study was to examine the use of music by international college students in Korea. A questionnaire was administered to foreign college students. The questionnaire was composed of 25 items regarding use of music, the purpose of music use, and demographic information. A total of 150 questionnaires were distributed, and 81 questionnaires were returned. Incomplete questionnaires were excluded, and the remaining 69 questionnaires were analyzed. The results of this study were as follows. First, international students in Korea preferred listening to music over playing instruments or singing and mostly listened to popular music in their dormitory alone. They mostly listened to popular songs with love related themes and preferred music from their own country over Korean music. Second, in terms of the purpose behind music use, comfort was the reason reported most frequently, followed by mood change, enjoyment, sense of belonging, and sense of achievement. Third, there were no significant differences in use of music depending on individual factors (e.g., gender, length of residence in Korea, length of previous music education), but significant differences were found for using music for the purpose of mood change and sense of belonging based on respondents' length of residence in Korea. The results of this study may contribute to the development of musical programs for cultural adaptation and psycho-emotional support for international students in Korea.
The success of K-Pop music industry continues as there is a new light shedding on the new Korean wave. There is a continuous discussion about the sustainability of the idol's dance music because of its limit in the uniform genre. As a solution to improve the quality of K-pop music, researchers said to supplement it through the change of educational system in the applied music. However, research into how much the education of applied music is contributing to the continuous success of the K-Pop music industry and how each industry is affecting each other was inadequate. Therefore, this study will understand the association between the K-Pop and the applied music, and look into ways that can act as a mutual supplementation for both fields. Subjects of analysis included performing artists, composers, arrangers, lyricists, and singers for songs within the top 100 of the digital total ranking for the past three years in the Gaon chart which is the official music chart for Korea. Then, the study apprehended how many of those subject had relations with the applied music and their activity frequency. As a result, there were a considerable number of K-Pop performers, at 41.74%, who also majored in the applied music. To continue to tendency of Korean wave and develop the Korean popular music, this study will explore roles each industry should cooperate in the future. There were the formation of social atmosphere for increase of consumer's needs to diverse K-pop music and change of education for training its human resources that K-pop industry demand.
Popular music is a spce where intrinsic desires and values of young people are well exposed in its process of production and consumption. Previous discussions of Korean youth and youth culture have been proceeding mainly in the sense of their resistances to older generation. However, this is limited in that it neglects the inherent microscopic characteristics of youth culture. The purpose of this study is to investigate what the signs and discourses of youth generation make and share in popular music, and how it relates to social context through the 'Mimesis' theory. As a result, the songs of the 1990s remarkably showed the resistance to the old generation in its narrative structure and have signs which expresses repression and uniformity. On the other hand, the songs of the 2010s have many fragmented signs which has been reconstructed into individualized discourse structure. It is assumed that the songs have been able to gain a lot of empathy and popularity from the young generation by visualizing emotions and desires experienced by themselves in the social context. Through this study, it suggests to pay attention to the sensitivity, desire and creativity of young people in music in the social and cultural context of the time.
