한국형 머리전달함수 데이터베이스 구축 (Building Korean Head-related Transfer Function Database)

  • Three-dimensional multimedia industry such as 3D TV, movie and broadcast has been developed vividly. For generating 3D contents with high quality, virtual auditory display, so called VAD, is being researched to offer more realistic experience to listeners. When people render VAD using headphones or two speakers, head-related transfer function(HRTF) plays a key role. The best solution is measuring all individuals' HRTFs, but it is hard to measure all listeners' HRTFs. To overcome this difficulty, many research groups have tried to construct their own measurement system and to build HRTF databases. However, some of them have not enough subjects or spatial resolution and they are mainly focused on Caucasian. There exists difference between Korean and Caucasian in a view of physical features. In other words, if Koreans hear three-dimensional sound rendered by HRTF database based on Caucasian, performance might be hindered. To verify this possibility and remedy the drawbacks, construction of new HRTF database aimed at Korean is needed. Therefore, our laboratory built HRTF measurement system which can measure HRTF of three-dimensional space with dense spatial resolution. With this system, 55 Korean males and 45 females' HRTFs were measured and Korean HRTF database was built based on these data.

한형모 감독의 영화 <자유부인>에 나타난 복식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the customs in Han Hyungmo's film )

  • This study is an attempt to analyze the daily life of the Western-yearning Seoul citizens and the inflow of the Western culture into certain social classes. The customs of the characters in the film are studied to illustrate the process of deconstruction of Korean traditional clothes due to the Western influence. The combined application of the Western and Korean styles is also observed. All this study leads to the sense of homogeneity of the times and the conformity to the culture the Korean women shared, which boils down to the social identity of the Korean women who sought an escape from the men-centered social structure by displaying their competence in the field of global modern fashion. As Seonyeong Oh, the main character of the film, , was wearing in the movie the Korean traditional dress, socks, rubber shoes, and then a western-style coat, it well shows that in 1950's, the traditional dress and ornaments were mixed with Western styles. In time, men's wear were completely changed from the traditional Korean clothes to suits, while women's could not break off from the traditional clothes and become westernized, which indicates that the men-centered conservative ideas to keep women within the feudal regime of the society remained. The military look of Seonyeong Oh while she was acting in the society was a symbol of anti-bias against women and anti-convention as well as the will of freedom as an independent woman. Besides, the modern girls would wear clothes of military fashion, Dior's trapeze line, and knit styles flattering the figures. All these well show their desires to embrace Western cultures, especially their dress fashions as well as manners as so-called enlightened ladies. All these elements show that the director was trying to represent the progress of the drama, characters, and psychological states by means of the dress and ornaments.

영화 투자배급사의 연간 포트폴리오 분석: 롯데엔터테인먼트를 중심으로 (Analysis on Annual Film Distribution Portfolio of Lotte Entertainment)

  • 본 연구는 한국의 영화산업을 주도하는 기업이 연도별 포트폴리오를 구성하면서 어떤 방식으로 제작비 차별화를 하고 있는 지를 사례연구를 통해 알아보았다. 분석 결과, 롯데엔터테인먼트의 배급전략은 연간 투자포트폴리오에서 제작비가 큰 영화의 투자 비율을 제한하고 전체 예산의 80% 이상을 중간 규모급 영화의 제작에 투자하여 배급 라인업을 보다 더 다양하게 구성하려는 방식을 택한 것으로 나타났다. 이에 반해, 흥행실적은 60억 원 이상의 제작비가 투입된 작품들이 많았고 수익성에서도 가장 높은 수준을 기록하였다. 롯데배급 영화 중 장르별로는 코미디, 드라마가 가장 많이 배급되어 1, 2위를 차지했다. 하지만 코미디와 드라마장르는 수익성 면에서는 7개 장르 중 3, 5위를 차지하였고 액션과 범죄 스릴러 장르가 1, 2위를 차지해, 제작비 차별화 방향과 흥행 실적이 불일치하는 모습을 보였다.

미디어 콘텐츠 기업의 무형자산 중심 지식재산 가치 연결 전략: 아이코닉스 애니메이션 뽀로로에 대한 탐색적 사례연구 (Value Articulation Strategy of Media and Content Company: Mainly Focused on Iconix's Animation 'Pororo' Case)

  • Under the influence of growing popularity of "hallyu" (Korean wave), corporates that have copyrights such as music, movie, drama as their core competitiveness are showing continuing growth. In Addition, they built on contents are rapidly growing, interests in protection and management of intellectual property rights linked to contents are growing. Global contents development corporates are making great efforts to create profits out of copyrights. They could utilize original contents to strengthen brand value use it to produce additional contents in current market. Also they take advantage of existing storyline of the contents and strong brand to explore new markets. This paper looks into Value articulation model by Professor James Conley and analyzed the firms that utilized intellectual property rights to extend the period of protection, strengthen their competitiveness and succeeded in breaking into new market by using the rights they possess. Also, this paper examines the usage of intellectual property rights and business expansion strategy of of Iconix, the Korean entertainment company, which gained tremendous popularity in last ten years using this model. In Value articulation model, Conley classifies the process of exploiting the portfolio of the single product's(or service's) intellectual property right for a period of time into three stages ; value transference, value translation, value transportation. Pororo's strategy of utilizing intellectual property right is suggestive to domestic entertainment companies. Under the influence of hallyu" (Korean wave), domestic contents such as movies, dramas and music are enjoying the high level of popularity recently not to mention animations. In reality, Korean entertainment companies who have no background or experience of Intellectual property rights are not creating enough added values compared to fast growing market. It is believed Iconix's intellectual property rights management strategy will suggest positive aspects to domestic companies. Moreover, I hope various intellectual property rights management strategies including Conley's value articulation are studied and they can make contributions to managing domestic entertainment companies.

3D 애니메이션 제작을 위한 디자이너의 인지적 사고과정 분석 (Analysis on designer's cognitive thinking process in 3D animation design)

  • 영화 <아바타>의 영향으로 3D 입체 영상의 발전 전망에 대하여 사회적으로 많은 관심을 가지고 있으며 컴퓨터그래픽 기술을 지원하는 하드웨어 기술발전에도 지속적인 성장이 예측되고 있다. 또한 컴퓨터 인터넷 기반 3D네트워크 인프라의 저변 확대로 인터넷 상에서 3D 게임사업의 발전과 함께 2D 애니메이션의 기술적인 공유가 함께 이루어지고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 기술적인 발전으로 문화적인 디자인 제작 한계가 좁혀지고 애니메이션의 2D, 3D 저변확대가 빠르게 넓혀지고 있으나 디자이너가 작업하고자 하는 디지털 콘텐츠모양과 화면에서의 환경구조에 대한 문제해결방향을 분석하는데 있어 아직까진 한계를 보인다. 본 연구는 3D산업의 현황과 인지과학의 대표적인 연구방법인 절차 지향적인 분석을 통한 영상 애니메이션 디자이너의 작업 프로토콜을 분석하고 공통된 커뮤니케이션 및 작업도구를 사용하면서 표현 되는 행위를 관찰하여 그들의 작업 프로세스를 분석하고자 한다. 연구 결과를 도출하기 위하여 대표적인 선행연구를 고찰하고 여기서 나온 자료를 근거로 실증적인 심층 분석을 실시하였다. 분석방법으로 피험자가 3D 게임영상에 적용하기 위한 2D 아바타이미지를 스케치 하는 과정을 촬영하였으며 분석과정에서 발생되는 단계별 분석범주를 세분화하고 코드화 하여 디자이너가 문화적인 문제해결을 어떻게 극복하고 정리된 형태로 진행해 가는지를 살펴보았다.

재한 중국인 유학생의 패션 분야 연구 동향 - 대학원 학위논문을 중심으로 - (Research Trends of Fashion Field among Chinese Students in Korea - Focused on Graduate Degree Thesis -)

  • Since the mid 2000s, a large number of Chinese students have come to Korea to study. This study investigates the research trends of Chinese students studying in the fashion field in Korea. For this study, a total of 235 graduate degree theses on fashion written by Chinese students in Korea (from 1992 to 2014) were collected through the RISS website. Various keywords were used to find the theses, including fashion, clothing and costume. Factors used in the analysis of these theses were the number of theses per year, major of the student, research trend of specific areas and research target area. The results are as follows: Most of the theses were written by Fashion/Clothing majors (141 theses/60% of the total), while other majors - such as Business Administration, International Trade, Economics, Journalism/Broadcasting, and Movie Entertainment - made up the rest (94/40%). The theses researched in the study were focused on a specific field in fashion. Fashion Marketing/Socio-Psychology of Clothing was the most popular field (113/48.1%), and Fashion Design/Aesthetics came in second (87/37.0%). Other topics, such as Costume History, Clothing Construction/Textile Science, Costume Culture, followed. Chinese student's research target area was very limited, with Chinese Study being the most popular area, and Korean and Chinese Comparative Study coming in second.

대한제국기 서구식 문관 대례복 상의의 제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Construction of Court Dress Coat in the Daehan Empire)

  • The purpose of this study is to perform historical reconstruction of the court dress coat in the Daehan Empire in order to make replicas of the artifacts. Following steps were undertaken in the study : literature research of the laws of the era, drawing of the design, embroidering gold work, and tailoring of the coat. Embroidering and tailoring experts were consulted to complete an accurate reconstruction of the dress court. The results of this study are as follows. First, Juimgwan's coat, which was the Court Costume Rule in 1905 was selected as an experimental coat. It was revision of the Court Costume Rule in 1900. The process of selection was based on the amount and easiness of embroidery. Second, the design of the back bodice, chevron, pockets and collar is reflected the pattern of the preceding research, which was analyzed from the laws, the drawing document[Gwanbokjandoan], and artifacts. Third, the gold work embroidery in the back bodice, chevron, pockets and collar was done. The embroidery material were composed of gold threads, such as rough purl, smooth purl, check purl, pearl purl, rococo, and spangle. Couching was used as an embroidery method. The coat was tailored after embroidering. The coat and the buttons were made after analyzing the artifacts. The result of this study can be utilized in the field of historical reconstruction of artifacts in the museum, the designing of stage costume in the performances of reenactment events, drama, and movie of Daehan Empire. Furthermore, this study is anticipated to contribute to the fundamental research of culture contents.

현대 패션에 나타나는 대중문화의 영향에 관한 연구 -Fashion Icon을 중심으로- (A Study on the Effect of Popular Culture in Modern Fashion -Focused on the Fashion Icon-)

  • This study of popular culture is in based on an academic point of view and based thereon an investigation of popular culture from a fashion standpoint follows. This study is to suggest that the popular culture theory can be a basic framework to examine the characteristics of fashion Icon and to verify that the characteristics of Fashion Icon is similar to the codes of the popular culture of today, This study considers the characteristics of popular culture as commercialism, mass-media relationship and a symbolic interaction. The images of movie stars projected through diverse entertainment media are the very fashion icons and strong role models that are copied by consumers. Now, the public take the lead in cultural industry, and they create new images as positive receivers of the images of fashion icons, not as mere imitators or followers. Fashion irons have contributed to diversifying the styles of ideal feminine beauty, and their lift pattern and image are one of the major sources to stir up the imagination and inspiration of people. Thus, the times, fashion and entertainment media have continued to evolve, closely affecting one another, and fashion icons play a role of fashion leader, through entertainment media, who takes the initiative in mass fashion without just being confined to the field of entertainment. This study meaningful from the aspect that discussion of popular culture has been placed in a position that recognizes the entity of and interest in popular culture. through this study, I hope that the scope of interest in Fashion design will expand and that approaches to popular culture will become more diversified.

임의의 얼굴 이미지를 이용한 3D 얼굴모델 생성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Creation of 3D Facial Model Using Facial Image)

  • 얼굴모델링과 애니메이션에 대한 기술은 컴퓨터 그래픽스 분야에서 오랫 동안 연구되어 오고 있는 분야 중 하나이다. 얼굴모델링 기술은 가상현실, MPEG-4 등의 연구목적과 영화, 광고, 게임 등의 산업 분야에서 많이 활용되고 있다. 따라서 좀 더 사실적인 인터페이스의 구현을 위하여 컴퓨터 의인화를 통해 인간과 상호작용 할 수 있는 3D 얼굴모델 개발은 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 임의의 정면 얼굴 이미지를 이용하여 간편한 조작으로 3D 얼굴모델을 생성하는 시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 한국인 표준 얼굴모델을 이용하여 메쉬상의 조정점을 얼굴 부위와 윤곽에 맞게 정합한 다음 유동적이고 탄력적으로 조정하여 3D 얼굴모델을 생성하며, 그 결과인 3D 얼굴모델을 이동, 확대, 축소, 회전시켜 가며 실시간으로 확인 및 수정할 수 있다. 개발한 시스템의 유용성을 검증하기 위해 $630{\times}630$의 크기를 가지는 30개의 임의의 정면 얼굴이미지를 가지고 실험했다.

국내 복합상영관 시설의 방재대책에 관한 연구 (A Optimization of Fire Safety Design in Multiplex Cinema Theater)

  • 21세기들어 영화산업의 발달로 탄생한 복합상영관에서는 수많은 사람들이 문화생활을 즐기고 소비하는 장소가 되고 있다. 그러나 복합상영관을 이용하는 수많은 사람들은 불특정다수인으로 복합상영관의 구조와 관련정보가 매우 부족하여 현실적으로 화재시 많은 인명피해가 예상된다. 특히, 복합상영관은 대부분 대형지하공간 또는 초고층건물의 상충부에 십여개의 상영관과 다양한 문화시설이 자리잡아 일시에 수많은 인파가 몰리는 대표적 다중이용시설이다. 만일 화재 등 재난이 발생하였을 경우, 수많은 관객들의 생명과 안전을 보장하기는 상당히 어려울 것이다. 그러므로, 이와같은 문제점을 극복하기 위하여 복합상영관에서의 화재·피난안전상 체계적인 방재대책이 필요하다. 본 연구는 복합상영관의 개념정립과 공간 및 위치에 따른 위험도 분석을 통하여 컴퓨터시뮬레이션을 실시하고 이를 바탕으로 적정한 방재대책의 방향성을 제시하였다.
