The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of juvenile books on Korea and Japan in WorldCat and observe the possibility of diffusing knowledge on each country. The distribution of bibliographic records of books published from 1993 through 2012, and especially the books published in 1997, when the numbers of books on both countries were the closest, were analyzed in detail in terms of language, genre, subject headings, and holding libraries. The result shows much fewer bibliographic records of juvenile books on Korea than those of books on Japan, and their growing gap every year. There were also much fewer holding libraries and copies of books on Korea, published in 1997, compared to books on Japan. The texts were mostly written in Korean and in tones set for very young readers. A serious lack of diversity in subjects and genres with the focus on Korean folklores and anecdotal biographies were also observed. Therefore, there seems to be nothing much interesting to read that would help promote the diffusion of knowledge on Korea through libraries around the world.

A 10-week feeding trial was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary glucose, dextrin and starch on growth and body composition of juvenile starry flounder. Triplicate groups of fish (average weight, 9.7 g) were fed iso-nitrogenous (53% CP) and iso-caloric (3.8 kcal/g diet) diets containing 20% glucose, 20% dextrin and 5-25% alpha-potato starch with 5-14% lipid levels. Survival was not affected by dietary carbohydrate. Weight gain, feed efficiency and protein efficiency ratio of fish fed the diet containing 20% glucose were the lowest among all groups. The best weight gain was observed in fish fed the diets containing 20% dextrin. Growth and feed efficiency were not affected by dietary -potato starch level. Lipid contents of whole body and liver were not affected by dietary glucose, dextrin and starch at the same level. However, the lipid contents tended to decrease with increasing dietary starch level and those of fish fed the diets containing 5% alpha-potato starch were significantly higher than those receiving 10-25% alpha-potato starch. Liver glycogen content and hepatosomatic index tended to increase with increasing dietary starch level. These results indicate that juvenile starry flounder are able to efficiently utilize dextrin and -potato starch compare to glucose in diets and that alpha-potato starch could be incorporated up to 25% in the diet for optimum growth by juvenile starry flounder.
The juvenile red variant of the sea cucumber Stichopus japonicus is distributed worldwide. It is a valuable food source in Korea, China, and Japan. Major issues in farming the juvenile red variant sea cucumber include growth rates and disease resistance. In recent years, studies have focused on feed additives to enhance immune system and health. In this study, we used a common diet (CD), a nutritional diet (ND; mixed nutritional supplements), and an immunity diet (ID; mixed probiotics, spirulina, and levan) and compared the growth rates and immunity of juvenile red variant sea cucumbers fed the experimental diets for 12 weeks. The growth and survival rates in the ID group were significantly increased (P>0.05). This suggests that the feed additives positively influenced immunity and growth in the ID group. However, the immune activity was exhibit a stabilizing effect, and further investigation of immune effects is required.
The diet composition of juvenile gold-eye rockfish, Sebastes thompsoni (40-50 mm SL), was examined based on 121 individuals collected in the Yellow Sea Bottom Cold Water in August 2016. The Yellow Sea Bottom Cold Water is characterized a by water mass of <$10.0^{\circ}C$ and 33 psu. The juvenile gold-eye rockfish fed on Amphipods [57.3% index of relative importance (IRI)] and Euphausiacea (32.9%). Most of the point in the prey-specific abundance plot indicated a high between-phenotype component (BPC).
We investigated body shrinkage, defined as change in standard length and body weight of juvenile chub mackerel Scomber japonicus after preservation in 70% ethyl alcohol for 1, 8, or 12 days. Standard length (SL) was decreased by 3.6% and body weight (BW) was reduced by 27.5% after 8 day of preservation. There were no significant decreases in SL and BW after 8 or 12 days preservation. Linear regression equations for estimation of original body size from the size after preservation in 70% ethyl alcohol for 12 days were expressed as: $SL_{original}=0.96SL_{preserved}+5.17$ and $BW_{original}=1.16BW_{preserved}+0.37$. These equations will be useful for improving accuracy the estimation accuracy for various size-related biological parameters in juvenile chub mackerel juvenile.
This study conducted a step-wise discriminant analysis to determine which variables play key roles in distinguishing among 3 mutually exclusive delinquent groups - disclosed delinquency group, closed delinquency group, and no delinquency group - and to 'develop a procedure for predicting group membership for new cases whose group membership is undetermined. Variables included in this study were collected by the review of previous empirical studies, which were identified as related to juvenile delinquency. The variables can be classified as character-related variables, family-related variables, school-related variables, peer-related variables, and socioeconomic variables. A sample of 693 youths were employed to conduct the statistical analysis. Out of 35 possible predictors of juvenile delinquency 14 variables were included in the pool of predicting variables. This study used a hold-out sample (n=300) to test if the linear discriminant function classify cases correctly into one of 3 groups. The percentage of cases classified correctly by the discriminant function was turned out to be acceptable in the area of social sciences. Discussions and suggestions were provided in terms of prevention and intervention for juvenile delinquency with focus on the 14 predictor variables.
By analyzing the characteristics and meaning of dystopia in Korean juvenile science fiction, this study aims to search for the principles of juvenile literature responding to the contradictions of scientific technologism in collusion with state capitalism, and to consider its limitations and significance. This study focuses on the juvenile science fiction in which children or teenagers fight against system dystopia functioning as a setting of the story. System dystopia consists of 'fake utopia' and 'concentration camps' holding those excluded from this 'fake utopia'. Young people whose right to life are violated under the system dystopia escape from concentration camps and fight against political power. We don't have many novels that have focused on environmental dystopia, but a nomadic subject is found in works set on Earth after environmental pollution or nuclear explosion. In short, juvenile dystopia science fiction deepens the contradictions of the hierarchical society based on scientific technologism, criticizing the repressive, material-oriented and differential educational realities of our society. They hope that children or teenagers will act as a resistance that sees through the deception and hypocrisy of the social system. These works are significant in that they expose the biopolitics strategy of political power in collusion with industrial capitalism and induce us to reflect on it. However, it seems to be the limit of humanism to equate human life with nature and to warn of dangers of technology, machinery, and material civilization as the counterpart. This paper has the significance of taking a general survey of juvenile dystopia science fiction since the 2000s, and revealing the writers' perception of scientific technologism and its limitations.

We investigated the feeding ecology of juvenile chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) during the critical early life stage prey selectivity of juvenile chum salmon during early marine migration in Korean waters at spring 2011. Salmon juveniles and zooplanktons were collected to draw with $20m{\times}5m$ gill net and $300{\mu}m$ mesh zooplankton net at each station on 11th-13th April n 2011. Collected zooplanktons were classified to 5 Phylum, 6 Class, 9 Order 17 Species in this study. Almost 76.4-100% species were classified to Phylum Arthropoda, dominant species was a species out of Hyperia galba of Order Amphipoda, Acartia spp and Paracalanus parvus of Order Calanoida. Collected salmon juveniles were grew up to average 4.7-5.4 cm fork length and average 1.0-1.5 g wet weight in whole station. Fish stomach content (mg/salmon) was heaver to 97.4, 82.4 and 63.2 mg wet weight/salmon in ST 2, 3, 4 than 20.4, 18.9 mg/salmon of ST 1, 5, because there are fish (sand eel, Hypoptychus dybowskii) and Krill (Euphausia) as prey in salmon stomach in ST 2, 3, 4. And ST 2, 3, 4 and 5 were dominated by Amphipoda as Hyperia galba, Themisto japonica and Gammarus sp., but ST 1 was dominated by copepod, because of absence of Amphipoda in the station. Therefore small Amphipoda as Hyperia galba was good prey for just released salmon juvenile in nature.
The purpose of this study was to test the theoretical model designed to explain juvenile delinquency by media violence. Data were collected through questionnaire survey over a period of 3 months. Subjects served for this study consisted of 537 adolescents including 217 delinquent adolescents and 320 student adolescents in Korea, sampled from Korean student population and delinquent adolescent population confined in juvenile correctional institutions, using proportional stratified random sampling method. In this study, exogeneous variable was family dynamic environment and endogeneous variables were character of adolescent including need satisfaction/ frustration, sociability, antisocial personality tendency, complaints of psychosomatic symptoms and depressive trend, juvenile delinquent behavior and media violence themes including the extent of interest in and exposure and modelling impulsiveness and modelling to media violence themes. A total of 18 instruments were used to operationalized concepts in this model. A validation study indicated that internal consistencies for the 18 instruments which the researcher used were reliable. The one month test-retest correlation for these instruments ranged from 0.54 to 0.88. Statistical methods employed were descriptive statistics and covariance structural modelling. In summarized conclusion, it was found that media violence served as the most contributor to juvenile delinquency by direct effect of 0.64(t=10.18). That is, as the adolescents have to be the higher extent of interest in and exposure and modelling impulsiveness and modelling to media violence themes, they will show the more frequency of delinquent behavior. The single most powerful contributor by total effect of 0.73(t=7.90) (direct effect=0.19, indirect effect=0.54) to the development of delinquent behavior identified in this study was a construct defining family dynamic environment. That is, as the adolescents had to be more unstable family dynamic environment, they became more frustrated to their psychological need, and revealed the more maladaptive personality pattern, consequently they behaved the higher misconducts such as juvenile delinquency through media violence.
The larvae of the Korean bullhead, Pseudobagrus fulvidraco were satiated with the food uptake equivalent to 13% of its body weight and required 2.5, 11 and 15 hrs to digest 50, 90 and 100% of the consumed food. The juveniles were satiated with food equivalent to 0.65% of its body weight and required 9 and 19 hrs to digest 50 and 90% of the consumer. Apparently, daily food intake perceptibly decrease with the larvae grew to juvenile stage. Both larvae (8.3-14.0mm TL) and juvenile (41.1-65.7mm TL) tend to feed frequently than to get satiated once a day and appeared to be nocturnal feeders.
