  • Cotton fabric was treated with Cationon UK(tertiary ammonium salt) to improve the dyeability to black tea colorants. In order to investigate the efficacy of Cationon UK for improving dyeing properties of cotton fabric, the effect of Cationon UK treatment conditions and dyeing conditions on dye uptake of the cotton fabrics treated with Cationon UK were examined and the colorfastness to washing, perspiration, rubbing and light was also evaluated for practical uses. Cationized cotton treated with Cationon UK showed high dye uptake at lower dyeing concentration and shorter dyeing time, compared with untreated. Dyeing temperature did not affect significantly dye uptake and the maximum dye uptake was obtained at pH 5. Most colorfastness was relatively good, showing 4/5∼5 rating.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the parallelism and volatility with Korea by using the Export Volume Index of Korea, Canada, Brazil, UK and Australia. The analysis period was prepared for indicator analysis, numerical analysis and model analysis using annual data for a total of 28 years from 1990 to 2017. In the correlation analysis, Korea showed high correlation in Canada, UK and Brazil, but low in Australia. In the coefficient of regression analysis, Brazil, Canada and UK are moving in a positive direction with their dependent variables (Korea), but appear to be almost unaffected by Australia. In order to increase Korea's exports in the future, Australia, Brazil, India, Vietnam and Singapore are emerging as new markets, which requires continuous attention. Although this study selected Canada, UK, Brazil, and Australia, it is expected that an objective and reliable study will be produced if more diverse countries are selected and analyzed in the future.

Also, if the insured proves that breach of warranty in marine insurance does not affect damages, the insurer pays the insurance money to the insured. The UK's marine insurance law has served as the governing law that has been the standard for the marine insurance industry for a long time. Korea and China were heavily influenced by the UK maritime insurance law. Therefore, this study analyzed the cases of breach of warranty in marine insurance in Korea and China. Through this, the insurer avoid the insurance contract for an accident that occurred after the breach of warranty. this result will be different under the new revised insurance law system. With the revision to The Insurance Act 2015, one of the biggest change in the insurance system is that it is possible to remedy of the violations of warranty. However, such a revision of the law requires considerable attention as it also changes the interpretation and judgment of the courts. Accordingly, a practical response of the insurance industry is required. It is necessary to prepare for possible disputes in practice.

  • Background: Stem cell research competition is accelerating globally since President Obama signed an executive order, repealing Bush-era policy that limited use of federal tax dollars for embryonic stem cell research. Methods: In this paper, we conducted a comparative analysis of stem cell research policy changes in three countries, including the Human Fertilisation Embryology Act (HFEA) of UK, executive order 13,505 (removing barriers to responsible scientific research involving human stem cells) of USA, and Bioethics and Safety Act of South Korea. Debates on stem cell research are based on conflicts of fundamental beliefs that exist in the supporting and opposing coalitions. We compared regional characteristics of the advocacy coalitions in three countries and presented various factors that might be related to the policy changes. Results: The UK government, parliament, and the HFEA have sought expert consultations and public opinions to establish guidelines. UK has made social consensus through continued discussion for a long time. US President's veto power was one strongest factors influencing policy. South Korean policy was influenced by public opinion and policy brokers. Also, South Korea has not made social consensus. UK had a strong leadership and strong adjustment of coalitions but US and South Korea had not. Dr. Hwang's scandal has had one of the greatest impacts on policy decision in South Korea. Conclusion: The power of public opinion was critical in all three countries. In particular, the influence of public opinion was noticeable in South Korea. Also it turned out that in US and South Korea, the presence of a policy broker who could pursue his or her goals was the most powerful factor among the advocacy coalition factors.
