  • The purpose of this paper is to measure the impact of the recent Korea-Japan trade dispute on the Korean economy using supply-driven input-output analysis. In July 2019, Japan announced the decision to tighten the export control of three materials which are indispensable in the manufacturing of semiconductors and electronic display panels. Japan's decision directly affects production in Korea's semiconductor and display sectors and is hence not a demand shock. For this reason, a standard demand-driven input-output analysis is not valid despite the fact that it can still be applied. The impact of Japan's decision on Korea's aggregate and individual sectors' gross output, GDP and employment were computed using both methods.

  • This study analysis the market status and competitive structure of Korean fishery in Japan import market, and derive policy implications for seeking main causes. Specifically', trade state between Korea and Japan is discovered and theoretical model is also used to analysis competitiveness between two countries. And then real measuring methods of competitive index is Introduced, the status of Korean fishery products in Japan import market is analysed totally through the study of comparative predominance and export competition. The analysis is based on the statistical methods such as RCA, RMI, and CMS. In summary, first, Korean fishery products have the comparative predominance in Japan, China and Thailand, but they have the comparative inferiority in USA, considering research results. Second, competitiveness of fishery products between Korea and in Japan import market extreme, relatively, competitiveness of Korean fishery products for Thailand's fishery products is lowest. Third, Korean fishery products maintain unconstant pattern, but competitive inputs result in increasing export to Japan generally.

  • Currently, both Korea and Japan have cooperated to get a foothold in economic major countries in the Asia through the various economic cooperation and the overcoming of cultural difference in cultural interchanges between two countries. However, in the present age, two countries are on the other road in historical view and conception; the final report over 3 year studies by the two countries' history study partnership commission shows the above views; while Korea has been in base of Japan colonialization's unjustification, Japan has been in base of its facts. The aboves have proved that Japan has not taken an honest self examination and conscience over the history. Accordingly, Japan resistance volunteer memorial is proposed as the educational place to carry down the martyr's holy patriotism in later ages and practice its spirit by learning the resistance volunteer resistance volunteer movement, which focused on resisting the Japan invasion and fighting the independence.

  • This study was performed to analyze the holding pace and decision factors of tractor in Korea and Japan, which probably should be used for making master plan of agricultural mechanization. The logistic function is used for holding pace estimation of tractor, and log-log function for analysis of decision factors. The results of this study are as follows: First, the increasing rate of the total amount of holding tractor power in Korea has been over that in Japan during 1980∼、94 which is now, however, under Japan. So, it could be forecasted that the per tractor holding power in Japan will increase continuously, and will be over 30PS in the short run. Second, the most important one of decision factors to support tractor demand is agricultural income in Korea, but on the other hand Non-Agricultural Income in Japan. From these, the fast increase of total amount of holding power of tractor in Korea could not expected, because Korea Agriculture has some difficulties to increase Agricultural Income. There are differences on the holding pace and decision factors of tractor between Korea and Japan, therefore, the plan of agricultural mechanization should be made in accordance with self-features.

  • Objectives: We investigated trends in the incidence rate of macrosomia and its association with parental nationalities using Vital Statistics data in Japan. Methods: We used singleton birth data every 5 years from 1995 to 2020. The incidence rate of macrosomia was calculated according to specific attributes (maternal age, infant's sex, parental nationalities, parity, and household occupation) over time (years). In addition, a log-binomial model was used to investigate the relationship between the incidence of macrosomia and the attributes. This study compared Korea, China, the Philippines, Brazil, and other countries with Japan in terms of parental nationalities. "Other countries" indicates countries except for Japan, Korea, China, the Philippines, and Brazil. Results: The study included 6 180 787 births. The rate of macrosomia in Japan decreased from 1.43% in 1995 to 0.88% in 2020, and the decrease was observed across all parental nationalities. The rates for Japanese parents were the lowest values among parental nationalities during the timespan investigated. Multivariate regression analysis showed that mothers from Korea, China, the Philippines, Brazil, and other countries had a significantly higher risk of macrosomia than those from Japan (risk ratio, 1.91, 2.82, 1.59, 1.74, and 1.64, respectively). Furthermore, fathers from China, the Philippines, Brazil, and other countries had a significantly higher risk of macrosomia than those from Japan (risk ratio, 1.66, 1.38, 1.88, and 3.02, respectively). Conclusions: The rate of macrosomia decreased from 1995 to 2020 in Japan for parents of all nationalities, and the risk of macrosomia incidence was associated with parental nationality.

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to compare the consistency of widths by analyzing the current situation of the sidewalk in Korea and Japan Neighborhoods Area. METHODS : Literature on the sidewalk width of the Neighborhood Area is reviewed to compare the consistency of width. Through on-site surveys, We identify the current status of sidewalk in Korea and Japan. This compares the sidewalk width consistency in the Neighborhood Area. RESULTS : The width of whole sidewalks in Japan is ranged 330~445cm, which is lAvger than The width of whole sidewalks in Korea, ranged 237~420cm. Frontage Zone width is ranged 60~65cm in Japan, similar to 60cm in Korea. However, in Korea, there is a lAvge difference between Frontage Zone width and walking width average, and the standard deviation of width is lAvger than Japan. The Pedestrian Zone width is ranged 172~325cm in Japan, which is lAvger than ranged 0~295cm in Korea. The width of the Furniture Zone is ranged 135 ~ 331cm in Japan and lAvger than ranged 90~225cm in Korea. In Korea, the difference between the Furniture Zone width and the walking average width is small, and the standard deviation of width is smaller than that of Japan. CONCLUSIONS : In conclusion, the standard deviation of the frontage zone and the pedestrian zone width, which are included in the valid sidewalk width, The Korea is lAvger than in Japan. valid sidewalk width of Korea sidewalk is inconsistent. valid sidewalk width for wheelchair users does not meet the width of more than 2 meters.
