  • We have studied a chip-on-board LED lighting optical system for various luminous-intensity-distribution angles of the LED. An optical system that can accept different LEDs was made to reduce the systems's weight and size as we selected the chip-on-board LED, which is easy to apply to optical systems, unlike existing package-on-board LEDs. The luminous-intensity-distribution angles were $45^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, and $120^{\circ}$. We researched these four types of optical systems. The $45^{\circ}$ and $60^{\circ}$ units were developed into reflectors, and the $90^{\circ}$ and $120^{\circ}$ units, into lenses. We checked the performance of the designed optical system through simulation and made a mock-up. Then we made a prototype of the chip-on-board LED high bay for use with the mock-up. After measuring its performance, we tested the luminous-intensity-distribution angles and compared them with simulation data. The resulting prototype was developed considering brightness, light uniformity, age, and economics which are suitable for a factory environment.

  • The tacit knowledge transfer cultivate the value and mount of tacit knowledge. The tacit knowledge transfer plays the most important role for improving the competitiveness of the organization. Despite the tacit knowledge transfer is very important, the research related with tacit knowledge transfer has not been actively carried out. The barriers to tacit knowledge transfer interfere with the tacit knowledge transfer. The barriers to tacit knowledge transfer are lack of understanding knowledge experts, heavy over-work, insufficient compensation, trust shortage and knowledge stickiness. In order to overcome the barrier of the tacit knowledge transfer, it is necessary to promote knowledge broker. The knowledge broker is the foundation for the tacit knowledge transfer and the critical success factor for efficient tacit knowledge transfer. However, most research related on the knowledge broker had focused on the degree, centrality and density of the knowledge network. The framework is needed to performance indicator for diagnosing the tacit knowledge transfer. Therefore, we suggest the knowledge broker framework based on the social network analysis.

  • This study reviews and modifies general IS success models to find success factors of WIS(Web-based Information Systems) and to confirm the relationship between WIS success and user's satisfaction of web use. A WISSM(Web-based Information Success Model extended to include EQ(E-Quality) is developed to anticipate user's intention to use Web-based Agricultural Information System and fit into the survey data from 252 WIS users of RDA(Rural Development Administration). PLS is applied to estimate a structural model based on EQ-WISSM to test hypotheses including 1) users reach a high level of intention to use Web-based Information Systems when they feel a high level of interactivity among an 'E-Quality', 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction' and 'Task Support Satisfaction', and E-Quality boosts intention to use Web-based Information Systems. The results show high path coefficients and $R^2$ values and find followings; First, the EQ-WISSM explains the user's intention to use WAIS quite well. Second, E-Quality can be used well in web-based IS environment to predict IS Success. Finally, this research finds the importance of 'Task Support Satisfaction' as a mediator between 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction', 'E-Quality' and 'Intention to Use'.

  • Narratives arouse diverse and rich affective responses to recipients, and this is one of the reasons why narratives are universal and popular. Computational studies on narratives have established a formal model or system of the affective response based on the theory in psychology or media research, and have analyzed or generated a narrative that can evoke a specific affective response. In this paper, we propose a new computational model that can detect the affective response expected to appear in the narrative based on the narrative agent's knowledge. First, we designed a narrative representation model that can elaborately express the event structure and the agent's knowledge as well. Additionally, an analysis method was proposed to detect the three affective responses and the related situational information. Then, we validated the model through a case study about an actual movie narrative. Through the case study, we confirmed that the model captures the affective responses of the audience. The proposed model can be effectively used for the narrative analysis and the creation that must consider the affective responses of the recipient.

  • In this research, the automatic synthesis of knowledge models is proposed. which are the basis of the methods using qualitative models adapted widely in fault diagnosis and hazard evaluation of chemical processes. To provide an easy and fast way to construct accurate causal model of the target process, the Role-Behavior modeling method is developed to represent the knowledge of modularized process units. In this modeling method, Fault-Behavior model and Structure-Role model present the relationship of the internal behaviors and faults in the process units and the relationship between process units respectively. Through the multiple modeling techniques, the knowledge is separated into what is independent of process and dependent on process to provide the extensibility and portability in model building, and possibility in the automatic synthesis. By taking advantage of the Role-Behavior Model, an algorithm is proposed to synthesize the plant-wide causal model, Fault-Causality Graph (FCG) from specific Fault-Behavior models of the each unit process, which are derived from generic Fault-Behavior models and Structure-Role model. To validate the proposed modeling method and algorithm, a system for building FCG model is developed on G2, an expert system development tool. Case study such as CSTR with recycle using the developed system showed that the proposed method and algorithm were remarkably effective in synthesizing the causal knowledge models for diagnosis of chemical processes.

  • This study attempts to reorganize the knowledge classification system for the research fields and majors in education by designing a new classification schedule. Content analysis of the majors and curriculums in the universities and major areas of the academic professors in Korea, and the comparison with the various headings in several classification systems for research fields were carried out. Based upon the comparison with library classification systems and reviews and opinions of subject specialists in major disciplines, finally, a knowledge classification system composed of three parts - schedules, tables and a relative index - was presented. The proposed classification scheme was tested for classifying the research projects listed in the 1998 catalog of the academic research funded by Korea Research Foundation. Also, several ways for developing a more useful knowledge classification scheme to organize disciplinary information effectively and to encourage interdisciplinary research were suggested.

  • Purpose Since COVID-19, the demand for online class platforms has increased. However, those platforms have not been clearly defined, and related research is also limited. In the context of the knowledge marketplace (KMs), this study examined the effects of class information and trust in creators on class preferences from the perspective of consumption value theory. Design/methodology/approach By establishing a web crawler through Python, this study collected 1,174 class data in Korea's leading knowledge marketplace, Class 101, focusing on diverse class-related information and the number of Instagram followers for individual class creators. Based on class information, this research analyzed the effects of consumers' utilitarian value, social value, and hedonic value on class preference. In addition, this study examined whether consumers' trust in creators moderates the relationship between class information and class preference. Findings According to analysis results, it was found that the higher the consumers' consumption value for each class on KMs, the more positive their preference for the class. Also, it was confirmed that consumers' trust in creators moderates the relationship between class information and class preference.

  • Innovation becomes norm rather than exception in today's business, and accordingly firms are working on how to make their employees to work smarter using information systems and technologies. Smart work demands virtual collaboration and cooperation among team members in different places and different time. Sharing of knowledge among team members in these innovative activities are critical in every sense for the successful performance. This study explores the antecedents of knowledge sharing among team members in team-based innovation activities. Five factors (pleasure of knowledge sharing, self-efficacy, management support, rewards, and system usage) are identified through extant review of literature and an instrument is adopted and validated from previous studies. The instrument is adminitered against 138 individuals in and across 54 teams in a telecommunication firm. Except self efficacy, all the paths in the proposed research model is confirmed with different levels of relational coefficients towards the levels of knowledge sharing and innovation activities in teams. Surprisingly, findings indicate that intrinsic pleasure of sharing is most critical than management support, organizational rewards or system usage. This study fills the research gap in team management. Findings provide important implications for managing teams in coming virtual and smart environment.
