CONCEPTUAL MODEL TO MEASURE USER SUCCESS IN THE DIGITAL GOVERNMENT ENVIRONMENT

  • The digital government is one of the most significant areas of study to emerge in information science in the past several years. The digital government is, in broad terms, a computerized system that allows a community of users to obtain a coherent means of access to an organized, electronically stored repository of information and knowledge. The information resources and technologies embodied by the World Wide Web are now accepted ad the primary example of the digital government. The need exists for a means to measure user success in the digital government. Because a digital government environment involves two broad functions?1) information search and retrieval and 2) interactivity with and through the medium-this research posits that measures of both of these functions will show positive correlation with user success.

  • 멀티미디어의 비중이 커짐에 따라 컴퓨터 과학 각 분야에서 독자적인 기술들을 이용하여 실제 응용 및 시스템을 구축하고 있다. 하지만 멀티미디어 동영상 내에서 객체의 행위 단독적인 움직임을 수치로만 표현하여 자료를 처리함에 따라 의미를 해석하는 것이 부자연스럽고 정확한 숫자에 부합하는 행동의 검출이 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 동영상의 기본적인 행위를 추출하고 이를 추상화, 정형화하여 보다 상위단계로 접근을 유도하여 멀티미디어 데이터에 대한 접근을 용이하게 하기위한 방법에 대하여 논의하였다.

  • 멀티미디어 데이터 처리 요구가 증가함에 따라 이의 의미적 표현 및 검색에 관한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 최근에는 특히 지식 기반의 온톨로지를 이용한 의미적 검색에 초점을 두고 있으며, 구축된 온톨로지를 기반으로 동의어 관계, 반의어 관계 등을 이용하여 질의 확장으로 활용되고 있다. 하지만 이들은 대부분 속성 관계 등을 고려하지 않을 뿐만 아니라 각 관계별 가중치를 고려하지 않고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 비디오의 의미적 특징들을 추출하여 온톨로지를 구축한 후 의미 기반 검색을 위하여 관계별 가중치를 고려한 유사성 측정을 제안하고자 한다.

  • Without detailed exact knowledge of a retrieval collection, most users find it difficult to formulate effective queries. A method to overcome this difficulty is to use query expansion that reformulates better query from initial query. In this paper we propose concept based query evaluation method using concept of class that retrieved from initial query.

  • 자동차 전조등에서 얻을 수 있는 자료는 차량마다 가지는 각각의 다양한 패턴과 문자 숫자 및 특수문자이탈 문자나 숫자 그리고 특수문자의 경우는 저장된 데이터베이스의 활용으로 그 차량에 대한 정보를 검색할 수 있다. 하지만 전조등의 경우에는 부분적인 패턴만이 있다면 숫자나 문자들의 정보에 의존할 수 없게 된다. 본 논문에서는 무늬가 가지는 특징의 추출을 이용하여 발생하고 있는 교통사고나 기타 사건의 발생시 부분적인 영상만이 획득되더라도 정색을 통한 후보 차량의 정색이 가능하도록 영상의 특성 값들을 구성하러 조합하였다. 본 시스템은 사고차량의 추적 및 교통사고에서보다 효율그인 과학수사에 일조할 것으로 기대한다.

Implementation of a Geo-Semantic App by Combining Mobile User Contexts with Geographic Ontologies

  • This paper describes a GIS framework for geo-semantic information retrieval in mobile computing environments. We built geographic ontologies of POI (point of interest) and weather information for use in the combination of semantic, spatial, and temporal functions in a fully integrated database. We also implemented a geo-semantic app for Android-based smartphones that can extract more appropriate POIs in terms of user contexts and geographic ontologies and can visualize the POIs using Google Maps API (application programming interface). The feasibility tests showed our geo-semantic app can provide pertinent POI information according to mobile user contexts such as location, time, schedule, and weather. We can discover a baking CVS (convenience store) in the test of bakery search and can find out a drive-in theater for a not rainy day, which are good examples of the geo-semantic query using semantic, spatial, and temporal functions. As future work, we should need ontology-based inference systems and the LOD (linked open data) of various ontologies for more advanced sharing of geographic knowledge.

  • Web is a part of our daily life and now it is ready to become a new Web called Semantic Web. The Semantic Web does not require entire human process for collecting and processing the information on the Web. Automation of efficient information retrieval, new knowledge generation, exact web service providing and so on are become possible through the Semantic Web. In this paper, the main idea of the Semantic Web and its application areas are discussed.

  • As the well-being or quality of life of a population is the common interests, a lot of people are interested in wines. They are willingness to share wine knowledges with other wine experts on the web. Therefore the study for information retrieval system and inference engines are needed to get relevant search results about wine types and suitable wines for given foods. This paper discusses an approach to the architecture of agent-based semantic web services in wine ontology.
