The Arctic climate change for the Last Glacial Maximum(LGM) occurred at 21,000 years ago (21ka) was investigated using simulation results of atmosphere-ocean coupled models from the second phase of the Paleoclimate Modelling Intercomparison Program(PMIP2). In the analysis, we used seven models, the NCAR CCSM of USA, ECHAM3-MPIOM of German Max-Planxk Institute, HadCM3M2 of UK Met Office, IPSL-CM4 of France Laplace Institute, CNRM-CM3 of France Meteorological Institute, MIROC3.2 of Japan CCSR at University of Tokyo, and FGOALS of China Institute of Atmospheric Physics. All the seven models reproduces the Arctic climate features found in the present climate at 0ka(pre-industrial time) in a reasonable degree in comparison to observations. During the LGM, the atmospheric $CO_2$ concentration and other greenhouse gases were reduced, the ice sheets were expanded over North America and northern Europe, the sea level was lowered by about 120m, and orbital parameters were slightly different. These boundary conditions were implemented to simulated LGM climate. With the implemented LGM conditions, the biggest temperature reduction by more than $24^{\circ}C$ is found over North America and northern Europe owing to ice albedo feedback and the change in lapse rate by high elevation. Besides, the expansion of ice sheets leads to the marked temperature reduction by more then $10^{\circ}C$ over the Arctic Ocean. The temperature reduction in northern winter is larger than in summer around the Arctic and the annual mean temperature is reduced by about $14^{\circ}C$. Compared to low mid-latitudes, the temperature reduction is much larger in high northern altitudes in the LGM. This results mirror the larger warming around the Artic in recent century. We could draw some information for the future under global warming from the knowledge of the LGM.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to develop and execute the village heath worker(VHW) training program which based on short term overseas medical volunteer and medical mission.
Methods: Through case studies of previous VHW program and review articles about the state of medical volunteer and medical mission, we developed the VHW training program. Pilot test of the program was carried out in Tugeugarao city, Phillipines on July, 2008. The subject were 32 persons from 15 villages around Tuguegarao city. After training we surveyed regarding the satisfaction of training and the degree of getting knowledge and skills.
Results: Through article review, we got the common subjects of previous VHW training program and the limitations of overseas medical volunteer and medical mission. We developed VHW training program aiming to community health promotion through community participation and community change. The main text was
"Where There Is No Doctor" of Hesperian Foundation. The program executed through 1 day intensive lecture and practice. The satisfaction of the program was 8.95±1.70 on 10 point rating scale.
Conclusions: We strongly expect VHW training program can be available as new model of short overseas medical volunteer as well as medical mission if we could systemize it with the confirming subject before training , management after training and continuous support through connection with the field.
In Origin of the German Mourning Play(1928), the critic Waltre Benjamin strongly criticized the German Romantic concept of the symbol, according to which the universal and ideal can be represented wholly in the particular and empirical by virtue of an ontological connection between them. Yet this criticism did not prevent Benjamin, in his epistemological preface to the book, from availing himself of the same monadological model (derived from Leibniz and Goethe) on which the Romantics had relied. Although he specifically rejected their insistence on the fusion of the phenomenal and the ideal in the symbol, his own theory of Ideas and their presentation in criticism nonetheless requires just such a fusion. This is not immediately apparent for two reasons: first, Benjamin proposes, in contrast to Platonic and Romantic theory, that Ideas themselves are subject to historical change, and therefore not capable of manifesting themselves fully in any given historical phenomenon; and second, he proposes that Ideas rather than phenomena are monads, individually representing the whole of the world in which they participate. The task of the critic, which Benjamin calls Darstellung("presentation"), consists in revealing Ideas by reducing historical phenomena to their constituent elements and reassembling those elements in what amounts to a mosaic of quotations. But this task is possible only if the critic has a preconception of the Idea he is trying to reveal-a possibility that Benjamin′s theory of knowledge does not allow for at all- or if he can discern the Ideas in the individual phenomenal fragments from which he creates his mosaic, in which case phenomena and Ideas must be related monadologically after all. Benjamin seems to admit the latter possibility in a cryptic sentence in the manuscript draft of his preface to the Origin, but he does not do so in the final printed version. Thus he effectively deprived the critic of an epistemological basis for the presentation of Ideas.
Recent development of teachable agent provides learners with active roles as knowledge constructors and focuses on the individualization. The aim of this adaptive agent is not only to maximize the learner's cognitive functions but also to enhance the interests and motivation to learn. In order to establish the relationships among user characteristics and response patterns and to extract the algorithm among variables, we measured the individual characteristics and analyzed logs of the teachable agent named KORI (KORea university Intelligent agent) through the student modeling. A correlation analysis was conducted to identify the relationships among individual characteristics, user responses, and learning outcomes. Among hundreds of possible relationships between numerous variables in three dimensions, nine key user responses were extracted, which were highly correlated with either individual characteristics and learning outcomes. The results suggest that certain type of learner responses or the combination of the responses would be useful indices to predict the learners' individual characteristics and ongoing learning outcome. This study proposed a new type of dynamic assessment for individual differences and ongoing cognitive/motivational learning outcomes through the computation of responses without measuring them directly. The construction of individualized student model based on the ongoing response pattern of the user that are highly correlated with the individual differences and learning outcome may be the useful methodology to understand the learner's dynamic change during learning.

In this paper, we propose an application and design of the ontology that needs to make digital content from modern literary work's information. For this works, we specify the structure of the year's literary work and the relation of each factor. The specification method used topic map. Each relation model was specified the connection by topic vector.
Characteristic behaviors of geo-structure during freezing and thawing process have to be understood based on fundamental knowledge on phase change in porous soil and interaction between soil and structure. Inversion analysis using published one-dimensional soil freezing tests was conducted to suggest a mechanical model to consider an effect of the ice saturation on Young's modulus. Silty soil was more sensitive to temperature than weathered granite soil and sand, and weathered granite soil was more affected by initial water saturation in stiffness decrease than silty soil. Numerical simulations on chilled gas pipeline showed that shielding effect from surrounding frozen zone around the pipe decreases impact from external load onto the pipe. And a pipe installed in sand backfill showed more heaving due to relatively low stiffness of sand during freezing than that of surrounding in-situ weather granite soil. However, it had more stable stress condition due to effective stress redistribution from external load.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a cultural competence improvement program for maternity nurses. Methods: A quasi-experimental study using a non-equivalent control group pre and posttest design was used. Participants were 67 maternity nurses caring for multicultural pregnant women in G city. The cultural competence improvement program was developed based on the 3-D Puzzle Model and was provided using case-based small group learning methods for the experimental group (n=31). The control group (n=36) did not receive any intervention. Data were collected using self-report structured questionnaires at two time points: prior to the intervention and after the intervention and were analyzed with descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2$-test, and t-test. Results: Compared to the control group, the experimental group reported significant positive changes for cultural knowledge (t=6.39, p<.001), cultural awareness (t=3.50, p<.001), and cultural acceptance (t=4.08, p<.001). However, change in cultural nursing behaviors (t=0.92, p=.067) was not significantly different between the two groups. Conclusion: Findings from this study indicate that a cultural competence improvement program with case-based small group learning is a useful intervention strategy to promote multicultural maternity care. Further, strategies to improve cultural nursing behavior should be developed to promote culturally congruent nursing care.

Since its adoption by the transportation sector in the early 1990s, partnering has been broadly used with the traditional delivery method by many agencies with significant reported benefits. During the same era, a number of transportation agencies (DOTs) started experimenting with a wide variety of alternative project delivery methods (APDMs) aimed at improving the delivery of highway construction projects. The effect of collaborative working strategies such as partnering, together with the APDMs have become somehow interrelated posing a potential challenge on how to effectively integrate partnering as a concept in the APDMs. The salient question has been if the collaborative nature of these APDMs has affected how partnering is being used by state DOTs. Through an extensive literature review, analysis of 32 CMGC RFPs/RFQs and review of three CMGC case studies, the study found that there is limited information in state DOT documents that show procedures on the usage of partnering with CMGC projects. Majority of DOTs are relying on the inherent nature of the CMGC contract to promote healthy collaborative practices and there is the need to consider partnering during preconstruction and construction separately to cater for any personnel change over. The study also revealed that partnering may become less important at the construction phase due to overlap between partnering and CMGC practices. In support of this finding, a CMGC partnering model was developed that can be adopted by DOTs. This paper contributes to both research and practice by expanding the existing knowledge on partnering on APDMs.
The World Association for Sexology (WAS) will adopt a Declaration of Sexual Rights as basic and fundamental human rights August this year in Hong Kong. Two years ago WAS has been developing a Declaration of Sexual Rights in order to further promote sexual health and protect the sexual rights of everyone. Undoubtedly sexuality is one of the most intriguing subjects in the area of human behavior and psychology, and has been so since antiquity. The influence of sexual factors of human on all aspects of the society has been immense. The varieties of marriage, from traditional to the open marriage model are presented in front of our sight. The influences of women's movement in Korea, which has produced sexual, psychological, economic, political, familial and social changes look so small and the changes are not that much in America. But the profound effects of the women's movement affect on Korean society being realized as man's view of woman and woman's view of herself undergo constant change and reevaluation. With increased sexual awareness on the part of the public owing to mass media, for example AH-U-SEONG aired in TV and with increased emphasis on sexual matters in daily life, more and more physicians are being asked to deal with and manage sex-related problems in their daily practice. Yet, despite the obvious need for informed sexual counseling, doctors are often uncomfortable about sexual matters and many physicians have no special expertise in this area. So physicians concerned in sexology especially such as gynecologists, urologists, psychiatrists and endocrinologists must realize well about sex-related knowledge which is needed for counseling the patient as medical consumer and gap between reality and ideality in sexual diagnosis and treatment. Establishment of management system for the people who have sexual problems is strongly needed to promote sexual health and protect the sexual rights of everyone and for the Sexual Rights as basic and fundamental human rights.
In the $7^{th}$ education curriculum, computer education curriculum in the elementary and secondary schools is composited into the contents for the use of computers so that there are some limitations in teaching students the abilities for solving various problems of several areas using computers. Recently, the research has done to change the computer education curriculum for enhancing creativity and problem solving ability required by the future education. The contents of the main subject for enhancing them is of computer programming, however, there was not enough research on systematic programming education curriculum for leading to motivating learners and enhanced knowledge transfer to those learners. In this paper, we analysis the contents mathematics education curriculum with consecutive contents and in tight connection with computer education and then extract its programming related elements. Based on those, we propose a programming education curriculum with which we can teach systematically computer programing according to continual and systematic guidance in the elementary and secondary schools. And we develop a teaching model and learning guidance for teaching students programming methods with the computer programming education curriculum proposed in this paper.
