  • EMU, Electric Multiple Unit, is very complicated system that consists of thousand parts. If breakdown happens, work that clears cause in most cases work that clears cause in most cases is very complicated and difficult. Also it needs much times and experts of several parts. Maintenance is depending on know-how of the operator and breakdown that happen before happens often repeatedly because information management and public ownership are not achieved properly about analysis and action result. In this paper we present the case-based expert system for EMU which is able to share this know-how knowledge that data-based systemically with another operator.

  • General vehicle is evaluated by its acceleration, fuel economy, NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) and subjective (Launching feel) performance. The first step to enhance its performance is to know how much each component affects on the vehicle performance. It is very important to know what is the key factor of the component among many specifications. Hydraulic torque converter can be expressed by means of its performance curve (torque ratio and capacity factor). In this paper, the key factor of torque converter, which affect vehicle performance, are explored by using Taguchi method.

  • When an escalator is developed or modified for improved performance, estimation of dynamic characteristics of the escalator is required. But modeling of the escalator for a design purpose is very difficult and time consuming process. Especially, it is very difficult for the designer to use the simulation model during design process because it takes time and also the designer needs to know how to use the simulation program. In order to solve these problems, a graphic user interface program that can predict dynamic characteristics of an escalator is developed for the designer. Since this program has the necessary complicated escalator model inside, the designer does not have to know how to use the simulation program and design parameters can be obtained while design is in progress. The developed designer oriented interface program is explained and an example is shown.

But modeling of the escalator for a design purpose is very difficult and time consuming. Especially, it is very difficult for a designer to use the simulation model during design process because preparing a proper model takes time and also the designer needs to know how to use the simulation program. In order to solver these problems, a graphic user interface program that can predict dynamic characteristics of an escalator is developed for the designer. Since this program makes the necessary escalator model for simulation for itself, the designer does not need to know how to use the simulation program while design is in progress. • Main purpose of this paper is to describe what is radwastes and spent fuel of radioisotope and nuclear power plants. Although this term is well adapted among the people nowadays but it is necessary to know more clear definition in accordance with atomic energy promotion law. By various means of scientific knowledge and engineering techniques, we can shield harmful radiation from radwastes and spent fuel, also could know how we can take benefits from radioisotope applications for human health care and other applications. It is realized that problem of spent fuel is not easy task to solve at the moment because we have to consider many sides.

  • Up to these days, hotels are assumed to compete each other. Due to the spread of high quality the hotel buffet restaurants have begun to face an intensive competition. Hotel Buffet Restaurant have become the more competitive along with fund, good price, service, quality food, and management know-how. It causes the hotel restaurants confront with management difficulties. In order to overcome the management difficulties, hotel buffet restaurants have to improve their marketing abilities and especially to improve their service quality. For this, it is necessary for hotel buffet restaurants to investigate how their service providers and receivers recognize their service quality. In this research, we examined the cognitive three types of cognitive gaps among customers, service providers, and managers both on the service quality and on the positioning of hotel buffet restaurants. Their cognitive gaps proved negatively correlated with hotel's performance. This research suggests the fellowing findings. Firstly, the competitiveness of hotel buffet restaurant depends on the accurate communication and consensus among managers, service providers, and customers. Secondly, using the information about cognitive gaps recognized, each hotel buffet restaurant should develop concrete marketing plans and strategies with a careful consideration about its current competitive position and management condition.

  • The techniques of the dental treatment are well known to common people, but the dental implant as one of the treatment options to rehabilitate patient's mouth is little known to them. Taking these situation into consideration, we, writers made actual analyses of statistics by putting into the form of diagrams based on questionnaires. Three hundreds of common people over 20 years old were picked up and we used convenience sampling method which is one of nonprobability sampling methods. Statistics are about these questions. 1. How much common people know about dental implant as a treatment option. 2. How much common people know about the detailed portions of the dental implant for rehabilitaton. 3. How common people got to know the dental implant. We present actual answers of the common people.

  • Purpose: Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide basic data to develop sexual abuse prevention educational programs for elementary school students. Method: Ninety three third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade elementary school students were interviewed for content analysis on sexual abuse. Results: The content recognized by elementary school students about sexual abuse was as follows: 1) The concepts of sexual abuse were 'compulsory contact', 'harassment', 'school violence', 'pornography', 'unpleasant sexual behavior' 'crime', and 'don't know'. 2) The causes of sexual abuse were 'intolerance of impulse', 'play', 'bullying', 'financial needs', 'home education and the environment', 'negligence of the victim', and 'don't know'. 3) The methods how to prevent and deal with sexual abuse were 'sexual education', 'avoidance of danger', 'protection', 'self-assertion', 'treat with kindness', 'strengthening of penalties', 'asking for help and notification', 'report', 'treatment and counselling', 'escaping', and 'don't know' 4) Educational needs for prevention of sexual abuse were 'more detailed sexual abuse prevention education', 'how to recognize sexual abuse', 'how to protect oneself', 'interpersonal relationship', 'practical education', and 'none'. Conclusion: These results suggest that based on elementary school students' recognition of sexual abuse, a sexual abuse prevention educational program and content should be organized.
