This paper discusses the posibility of synthesizing flood hudrographs by the stroage function model. Eight small watersheds from Han, Gum, Nakdong, Youngsan river system were selected for this purpose. The optimum constants are computed from the chi square criterion by the SDFP methods Based on these constants, equations for the storage constant and Lag time are derived from the kinematic wave theory and storage function theory. These relations are examined by using optimum constants of the storage function model and assumptive constant of the kinematic wave model. Main results are sumarized as follows. 1. Constants of the storage function model are closely related to those of the kinematic wave model. The formula obtained theoretically is difficult to use practically because of the unclaified definition of factors. 2. In order to estimate constants of the storage function model for the practical purpose, new equations are also proposed for mountaneous area. 3. The verification of proposed equation is made for several recorded floods for mountaeous areas.

In this study, the maintenance problems were investigated through checking the creeks which were improved by close-to-nature river improvement technique. The characteristics of flow were measured at Changsa Creek in Suwon city. The computational results of numerical model with kinematic wave theory was evaluated through observation data about precipitation, velocity, and flow depth. Furthermore, SCS, Clark, and RRL models were compared to the actual observations. As a result, the kinematic wave theory's calculated peak time of discharge concentration occurred little earlier than the actual observation, but the tendency of hydrograph coincided with observation.

A modified kinematic wave model of the overland flow in vegetated filter strips was developed. The model can predict both flow depth and hydraulic radius of the flow. Existing models can predict only mean flow depth. By using the hydraulic radius, erosion, deposition and flow's transport capacity can be more rationally computed. Spacing hydraulic radius was used to compute flow's hydraulic radius. Numerical solution of the model was accomplished by using both a second-order nonlinear scheme and a linear solution scheme. The nonlinear portion of the model ensures convergence and the linear portion of the model provides rapid computations. This second-order nonlinear scheme minimizes numerical computation errors that may be caused by linearization of a nonlinear model. This model can also be applied to golf courses, parks, no-till fields to route runoff and production and attenuation of many nonpoint source pollutants.
Importance of procuring adequate knowledge about the mechanical behavior of double-layered graphene sheets (DLGSs) incensed the authors to investigate wave propagation responses of mentioned element while rested on a visco-Pasternak medium under hygro-thermal loading. A nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT) is exploited to present a more reliable size-dependent mechanical analysis by capturing both softening and hardening effects of small scale. Furthermore, in the framework of a classical plate theory the kinematic relations are developed. Incorporating kinematic relations with the definition of Hamilton's principle, the Euler-Lagrange equations of each of the layers are derived separately. Afterwards, combining Euler-Lagrange equations with those of the NSGT the nonlocal governing equations are written in terms of displacement fields. Interaction of the each of the graphene sheets with another one is regarded by the means of vdW model. Then, a widespread analytical solution is employed to solve the derived equations and obtain wave frequency values. Subsequently, influence of each participant variable containing nonlocal parameter, length scale parameter, foundation parameters, temperature gradient and moisture concentration is studied by plotting various figures.
In this paper, the magnetic field influence on the wave propagation characteristics of graphene nanosheets is examined within the frame work of a two-variable plate theory. The small-scale effect is taken into consideration based on the nonlocal strain gradient theory. For more accurate analysis of graphene sheets, the proposed theory contains two scale parameters related to the nonlocal and strain gradient effects. A derivation of the differential equation is conducted, employing extended principle of Hamilton and solved my means of analytical solution. A refined trigonometric two-variable plate theory is employed in Kinematic relations. The scattering relation of wave propagation in solid bodies which captures the relation of wave number and the resultant frequency is also investigated. According to the numerical results, it is revealed that the proposed modeling can provide accurate wave dispersion results of the graphene nanosheets as compared to some cases in the literature. It is shown that the wave dispersion characteristics of graphene sheets are influenced by magnetic field, elastic foundation and nonlocal parameters. Numerical results are presented to serve as benchmarks for future analyses of graphene nanosheets.

The finite difference method and the method of characteristics are frequently used for the numerical analysis of kinematic wave model. Truncation errors cause the peak discharge dissipated in the solution from the finite difference method. The peak discharge is conserved in the solution from the finite difference method. The peak discharge is conserved in the solution from the method of characteristics, however, the shock may deteriorates the numerical solution. In this paper, distinctive features of each scheme are investigated for the numerical analysis of kinematic wave model, and applicability of shock fitting algorithm such as Propagating Shock Fitting and Approximated Shock Fitting methods are studied. Propagating Shock Fitting method appears to treat shock properly, however, it failed to fit the shock appropriately when applied to a sudden inflow change in a long river. Approximate Shock Sitting method, which uses finer elements, is found to be more proper shock-fitting than the Propagating Shock Fitting method. Comparisons are made between two solution from the kinematic wave theory with shock fitting and full dynamic wave theory, and the results are discussed.
The theory is based on two thermodynamic equations for the air mass in the air column and bydrodynamic equation for the relation between the response of the air in the water column and the incident wave. The numerical model is experimented in a two dimensional water tank and the caisson model with sloped front wall is tested in the large towing tank.

Wave propagation analysis of a porous graphene platelet reinforced (GPLR) nanocomposite shell is investigated for the first time. The homogenization of the utilized material is procured by extending the Halpin-Tsai relations for the porous nanocomposite. Both symmetric and asymmetric porosity distributions are regarded in this analysis. The equations of the shell's motion are derived according to Hamilton's principle coupled with the kinematic relations of the first-order shear deformation theory of the shells. The obtained governing equations are considered to be solved via an analytical solution which includes two longitudinal and circumferential wave numbers. The accuracy of the presented formulations is examined by comparing the results of this method with those reported by former authors. The simulations reveal a stiffness decrease in the cases which porosity influences are regarded. Also, one must pay attention to the effects of longitudinal wave number on the wave dispersion curves of the nanocomposite structure.

It is one of the basic problems of naval architecture and ocean engineering how to describe the wave kinematics normally under the assumption of an ideal fluid. At present, there are many wave theories available for design purposes. These can be classified into two groups: One is the analytic theory and the other is the numerical theory. This paper briefly introduces the stream function method of R.G. Dean which belongs to the latter group and shows its numerical evaluations exemplified for two cases: One is applied to observed waves and the other is for design waves. In the former case, the wave profiles are calculated by the stream function method and compared with those of the observed waves and also with the results of R.G. Dean. They show good agreement. In the latter case, the wave kinematics and wave loads on a column of diameter 1m are calculated by the stream function method and these are compared with those resulted from the 5th-order gravity wave theory. As a result of comparison the values by the stream function method are slightly larger than those by the 5th-order gravity wave theory but the difference are negligible. From this it is concluded that the stream function method is very useful. And as characteristics of the numerical theories, the stream function method of R.G. Dean can be easily extended to the higher order terms and can include easily the current velocity and the pressure distribution on the free surface. In addition, when the data of observed wave profile are given, this method can reproduced the observed wave profile as closely as possible so that this method seems to describe the ocean wave more realistically. And from standpoint of a mathematical principle the stream function method exactly satisfies the kinematic free-surface boundary condition.
