The research are intend to establish the design criteria for slopy upland reclamation, with protecting the loss of top-soil, Recently undertaken reclamation works for developing the slopy upland of 310,000 ha. have faced to the vagueness of their deign criteria. One of the most influencing factors to cause the soil erosion depends basically upon the kinematic energy of rainfall, which is developed by the rainfall intensity. Their relationship between the rainfall and its kinematic energy is expressed as EK=916+ 331 log I. Consequently, the study was carried out through analyzing each intensity of the independant rainfall through out the 14 rainfall stations. About 10,000 single storms self recording chart of more than 10mm of rainfall amout were collected and analyzed by computer. The results of research show their kinematic energy for the 14 stations, and will be available for the establishment of the design oriteria.
In this study, a series of three-dimensional numerical analyses were carried out to investigate the penetration performance of a dynamically installed Hall anchor. The advanced coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian (CEL) technique was adopted to accurately simulate the large soil deformation during the vertical penetration of a Hall anchor. In total, 52 numerical analyses were conducted to investigate the relationship between anchor penetration depth and the initial kinematic energy. Moreover, a sensitivity analysis was performed to investigate the effects of soil shear strength and soil type on the penetration mechanism of a drop anchor under self-weight. There is a monotonic increase in the penetration depth with an increasing anchor weight when the topsoil of the riverbed is not subjected to erosion. On the other hand, all the computed depths significantly increase when soil erosion is taken into consideration. This is mainly due to an enhanced initial kinematic energy from an increased dropping depth. Both depths increase exponentially with the initial kinematic energy. An enhanced shear strength can potentially increase the side resistance and end-bearing pressure around a drop anchor, thus significantly reducing the downward penetration of a hall anchor. Design charts are developed to directly estimate penetration depth and associated plastic zone due to dynamically installed anchor at arbitrary soil shear strength and anchor kinematic energy.
Inverse kinematic problem is a crucial point for robot manipulator control. In this paper, to implement the Jacobian control technique we used the Hopfield(Tank)'s neural network. The states of neurons represent joint veocities, and the connection weights are determined from the current value of the Jacobian matrix. The network energy function is constructed so that its minimum corresponds to the minimum least square error. At each sampling time, connection weights and neuron states are updated according to current joint position. Inverse kinematic solution to the planar redundant manipulator is solved by computer simulation.

The implosion phenomena of pressure vessels operating in deep water under extremely high external pressure have been well known. The drastic energy release to ambient field in the form of pressure pulse is accompanied with catastrophic collapse of shell structure. Such a proximity shock wave could be a serious threat to the structural integrity of adjacent submerged body and several suspected accidents have been reported. In this study, basic research for the occurrence and development of shock wave due to implosion was carried out. The mechanism of pressure pulse generation and energy dissipation were investigated, and a simplified kinematic model to approximate the collapse modes of circular tubes which can be generated by external pressure and implosion was examined. Using the simplified kinematic model, the process of energy dissipation was formulated, and the magnitude of released pressure shock wave was estimated quantitatively. To investigate the validity of developed kinematic model and shock wave estimation process, the results from a nonlinear FE analysis code and collapse test carried out using pressure chamber were compared with the results from the developed kinematic model.

In order to simulate a smoke or poisonous gas emergency in a rectangular tunnel and to investigate a better way to exhaust the smoke, the characteristics of smoke flow have been analyzed using flow field data acquired by Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV). Olive oil has been used as tracer particles with the kinematic viscosity of air, $1.51{\times}10^{-5}\;m^2/s$. The investigation has done in the range of Reynolds number of 1600 to 5333 due to the inlet velocities of 0.3 m/s to 1 m/s respectively. The average velocity vector and instantaneous kinematic energy fields with respect to the three different Reynolds numbers are comparatively discussed by the Flow Manager. In general, the smoke flow becomes more disorderly and turbulent with the increase of Reynolds number. Kinematic energy in the measured region increases with the increase of Reynolds number while decreasing at the leeward direction about the outlet region.
There exist scaling relations that link the mass of supermassive black holes with both the velocity dispersion and the mass of the central stellar cusp of their host galaxies. This implies that galaxies co-evolve with their central black holes, potentially through the feedback from actively accreting supermassive black holes (AGN). We use integral field spectroscopy data from the 8.2m Gemini-North telescope to investigate ionized gas outflows in luminous local (z<0.1) Type 2 AGN. Our sample of 6 galaxies was selected based on their [OIII] dust-corrected luminosity (>$10^{42}erg/s$) and signatures of outflows in the [OIII] line profile of their SDSS spectra. These are arguably the best candidates to explore AGN feedback in action since they are < 1% of a large local type 2 AGN SDSS sample selected based on their [OIII] kinematics. Expanding on previously reported results concerning the kinematic decomposition and size determination of these outflows, here we report their photoionization properties and energetics. We find strong evidence that connect the extreme kinematics of the ionized gas with AGN photoionization. The kinematic component related to the AGN-driven outflow is clearly separated from other kinematic components, such as gravitation- or stellar-driven motions, on the velocity and velocity dispersion diagram. Our spatially resolved kinematic analysis reveals that up to 90% of the mass and kinetic energy of the outflow is contained within the central kiloparcec of the galaxy. The total mass and kinetic energy of the outflow correlate well with the AGN bolometric luminosity, resulting in energy conversion efficiencies between 0.01% and 1%. Intriguingly, we detect ubiquitous signs of ongoing circumnuclear star formation. Their small size, the centrally contained mass and energy, and the universally detected circumnuclear star formation cast doubts on the potency of these AGN-driven outflows as agents of negative feedback.

We propose a new two-degree of freedom parallel mechanism for a haptic device and will refer to the mechanism as the SenSation. The SenSation is designed in order to improve the kinematic performanced and to achieve static balance. We use the panto graph mechanisms in order to change the location of active joints, which leads to transform a direct kinematic singularity into a nonsingularity. The direct kinematic singular configurations of the SenSation occur near the workspace boundary. Using the property that position vector of rigid body rotating about a fixed point is normal to the velocity vector, Jacobian matrix is derived. Using the vector method, two different types of singularities of the SenSation can be identified and we discuss the physical significance of each of the three types of singularities. We will compare the kinematic performances(force manipulability ellipsoid, kinematic isotropy) of the SenSation with those of five-var parallel mechanism. By specifying that the potential energy be fixed, the conditions for the static balancing of the SenSation is derived. The static balancing is accomplished by changing the center of mass of the links.
Purpose: While rapeseed oil, soy bean oil, palm oil and waste cooking oil are being used for biodiesel, the viscosity of them should be lowered for fuel. The most widely used method of decreasing the viscosity of vegetable oil is to convert the vegetable oil into fatty acid methyl ester but is too expensive. This experiment uses ultrasonic energy, instead of converting the vegetable oil into fatty acid methyl ester, to lower the viscosity of the waste cooking oil. Methods: For irradiation treatment, the sample in a beaker was irradiated with ultrasonic energy and the viscosity and temperature were measured with a viscometer. For heating treatment, the sample in a beaker was heated and the viscosity and temperature were measured with a viscometer. Kinematic viscosity was calculated by dividing absolute viscosity with density. Results: The kinematic viscosity of waste cooking oil and cooking oil are up to ten times as high as that of light oil at room temperature. However, the difference of two types of oil decreased by four times as the temperature increased over $83^{\circ}C$. When the viscosity by the treatment of ultrasonic energy irradiation was compared to one by the heating treatment to the waste cooking oil, the viscosity by the treatment of ultrasonic energy irradiation was lower by maximum of 22% and minimum of 12%, than one by the heating treatment. Conclusions: Ultrasonic energy irradiation lowered the viscosity more than the heating treatment did, and ultrasonic energy irradiation has an enormous effect on fuel reforming.
Oil viscosity is one of the important parameters for machinery condition monitoring. Basically, it is expressed as kinematic viscosity measured by capillary flow and dynamic or absolute viscosity measured by rotary shear viscometry. Recently, acoustic wave techniques appear in the market, measuring viscosity as the product of dynamic viscosity and density. For Newtonian fluids, knowledge of density allows conversion from one viscosity parameter to the other at a specific shear rate and temperature. In this work, oil samples with different chain lengths of viscosity index (VI) improvers and concentrations were examined by different viscometric techniques. Results showed that acoustic viscosity measurements give misleading results for oil samples with high molecular weight VI improvers and at low temperatures ${\leq}40^{\circ}C$.

This paper presents prediction of ultimate longitudinal strength of a VLCC, "Energy Concentration" for which many benchmark studies have been carried out, based on kinematic displacement method proposed by Tayyar and Bayraktarkatal (2012). Kinematic displacement theory provides semi-analytical solution of average compressive strengths for various kinds of stiffened panels. The accuracy of average compressive strengths obtained from formulas of CSR(common structural rules) for tankers and kinematic displacement method are discussed in the fore part of this paper. Hull girder ultimate strengths using Smith method are also compared for different average compressive strengths. By comparing them with other benchmark results, it is concluded that the new method provides lower bounds, because hull girder strengths under the sagging and hogging moment conditions approach nearly lower bounds.
