Evaluation of Composted Pig Manure and Organic Fertilizer for Organic Onion Production in Paddy Soil

  • A two year study was conducted on the effects of composted pig manure applications on organically managed intermediate-day onion ($Allium$ $cepa$ L.) with mid-season production. The manure application rates were 0, 4.0, 6.0, and 8.0 $ton{\cdot}ha^{-1}$, and accompanied by organic fertilizer with 240 $kg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$ nitrogen for all treatments. There was a positive linear effect on the marketable bulb yield with increasing applications of pig manure. However, pig manure rates of 6.0 or 8.0 $ton{\cdot}ha^{-1}$ did not affect the marketable yields or bulb weights at harvest. There was no significant difference between pig manure application rates and mineral concentration or nutrient uptake in onion bulbs. Soil pH and electric conductivity (EC) were lower at harvest compared to preplant soil, while exchangeable potassium and calcium contents increased at harvest. However, there were no significant effects on soil pH, EC, and organic matter or exchangeable cations caused by different pig manure application rates. Mineralized $NO_3$-N content was not affected by pig manure application rates except at transplanting and 129 day after transplanting. Based on the results of this study, when organic fertilizer is applied at a rate of 240 $kg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$ N, 6.0 $ton{\cdot}ha^{-1}$ composted pig manure should be adequate for producing onions using an organic production system.

Evaluation of Exposure Times for Periphyton Biomass Estimate using Artificial Substrata in Headwater Streams (상류하천에서의 인공저층을 이용한 부착조류의 생체량 측정을 위한 노출기간 평가)

  • During the spring and fall of 1994 and winter of 1995, the exposure time of periphyton biomass on terval. In the streams with low periphyton biomass (chi. a: 2-4 mg/$m^2$) in natural rocks, biomass of arttificial substrata (unglazed tile: $3.7{\times}9.5{\times}2 cm$) exceeded that of the natural rocks after 28 days, while sites with high biomass (chi. a: 20-60 mg/$m^2$) in natural rocks showed slower biomass accumulation after 40 days. Due to the high licht input and temperature in a Partially shaded mountain stream, development of periphyton biomass in spring occurred faster than that of winter. In general, development of periphyton biomass placed on artificial substrata took 4-5 weeks in spring and at least 6 weeks In winter to reach the natural level.

Factors Affecting Intention to Purchase Green Products in Vietnam

  • The study aims to assess factors affecting intention to purchase green products in Vietnam. The study employs samples from customers who have actually experienced green consumption in Vietnam. The samples were collected by convenient sampling methods. The survey obtained 206 responses with full information. The survey was conducted from October 2019 to January 2020. The measurement scale was a 5-point scale with 1- completely disagree and 5- strongly agree. This study employs factor analysis and structural equation modelling analysis. The results showed that the social and environment sustainability awareness have positive effects on altruism of customers who are interested in green consumption. Altruism also has the same direction on green purchase intention. Besides, the attitude toward buying green and health consciousness affects green purchase intention. At the same time, the altruism and attitude towards buying green products also influence positively on green purchase intention. Besides, the health consciousness positively affects attitude towards buying green products. The results show that the health consciousness has a negative impact on intention to purchase green products. The findings suggest that it is necessary to raise customers' health consciousness, customers' altruism from disseminating knowledge about environmental protection as well as society to enhance the green consumption in Vietnam.

High Current Stress characteristics on Sequential Lateral Solidification (SLS) Poly-Si TFT

  • The reliability of TFT, crystallized by sequential lateral solidification (SLS) technology, has been studied High current damage is characterized by high gate bias (-20V) and drain bias (-10V). It is found that performance of SLS TFTs is enhanced by high current stress up to 300 sec of stress time for 20/8 (W/L) N-TFT. After that, TFT performance is degraded with the increase of the stress time. It is speculated from the experimental data that SLS TFTs initially contain a number of unstable defect states. Then, the defect states seem to be cured by high current stress.

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of Asthma-depression and Immunoregulation with PR-HAS(Herbal-acupuncture with Platycodi Radix infusion solution) injection at Joksamni(St36) on ovalbumin-induced asthma in mice. Methods : C57BL/6 mice were sensitized and challenged with OVA(ovalbumin) for 12 weeks(once a week). The experimental group(OVA-PR-HA) wase treated with concentrations(1%) of PR-HAS at Joksamni(St36) for the later 8 weeks(3times/week). The second experimental group(OVA-Needle prick) was treated with Needle-Prick at Joksamni(St36) for the later 8 weeks(3times/week). Results : 1. The weight and total cells in the mice lung treated with PR-HA decreased significantly compared with that of control group. 2. Total leukocytes and eosinophils in BALF of the mice group treated with PR-HA decreased remarkably compared with those of control group. 3. The sticking of collagen on histological analysis of lung sections, the mice group treated with PR-HA decreased significantly compared with those of control group. 4. The concentrations of IL-4, IL-5, IgE in BALF, and IL-4, IL-5, IL-13 in serum of the mice group treated with PR-HA decreased significantly compared with those of control group. 5. The number of $Gr-1^+/CD11b^+\;and\;CD11b^+$ cells in the lungs of the mice group treated with PR-HA decreased significantly compared with that of control group. 6. The numbers of $CCR3^+\;cells,\;CD4^+\;cells\;and\;CD8^+\;cells$ in the lungs, and $CD3e^+/CD69^+$ in the lungs of the mice group treated with PR-HA decreased significantly compared with those of control group. 7. The mRNA expression of ${\beta}-actin,\;TNF-{\alpha}$, IL-4, IL-5,IL-13 in the mice group treated with PR-HA with RT-PCR decreased significantly compared with those of control group. Conclusion : The concentrations of IL-4, IL-5, IgE in BALF, and IL-4, IL-5, IL-13 in serum of the mice group treated with PR-HA decreased significantly compared with those of control group. The number of $Gr-1^+/CD11b^+\;and\;CD11b^+$ cells in the lungs of the mice group treated with PR-HA decreased significantly compared with that of control group. Fabrication and characterization of porous hydroxyapatite scaffolds with PMMA addition using tertiary-butyl alcohol based freeze casting method (삼차부틸알코올 기반 동결주조 공정을 이용한 PMMA 첨가 다공질 수산화아파타이트 지지체의 제조 및 특성 평가)

  • In order to prepare porous scaffolds capable of pore control, PMMA powder serving as a pore-forming agent was added to HA powder to synthesize a slurry containing TBA as a solvent. And then, porous HA scaffolds where pillarshaped pore channels interconnected with each other were fabricated by freeze-casting and sintering. The crystal structure of the HA scaffolds according to the addition amount of PMMA powder was measured by XRD and the surface and inner cross section of the scaffolds were analyzed through SEM. It was found that removal of PMMA during sintering affects the internal structure of the scaffolds and the crystallinity of the HA powder. Furthermore, through evaluating the physical and mechanical properties of the scaffolds, it was confirmed that the porosity, pore size and compressive strength can be controlled by controlling the addition amount of the pore-forming agent. It was also found that the HA scaffolds produced in this study were similar in structure and properties to the natural cancellous bone. This suggests that porous HA scaffolds with PMMA can be used as an alternative to autogenous bone for tissue engineering as an artificial bone scaffold.

  • 우수한 화질특성을 나타내는 새로운 반투과형 액정모드를 개발했다. 단일 셀캡 구조에서 감마(Gamma) 보정없이 투과모드와 반사모드를 동시에 구동하기 위해 유기막을 이용하여 반사모드 영역의 액정 Cap을 두 가지로 분리하는 새로운 설계구조를 도입했다. 반사모드 영역의 액정 Cap을 순수한 액정 $Cap(C_{LC})$과 유기막 $Cap(C_{OL})$으로 분리함으로써 액정에 걸리는 실제 전압을 조절하게 되어 단일 셀캡 구조에서도 감마 보정없이 우수한 특성을 나타내는 반투과형 VA 액정모드를 개발하였다. 이러한 Cap-Divided 방식의 신규 VA 액정모드는 높은 콘트라스트, 광시야각 특성 및 공정 단순화의 장점이 있기 때문에 향후 반투과형 LCD에 적극적인 채용이 기대되어진다.

Preparation of Porous Nano Template of Parabola Shape by Anodic Aluminum Oxide (알루미늄 양극산화에 의한 포물선 형태의 다공성 나노 템플릿 제조)

  • 양극산화를 통해 생기는 다공성 알루미나 산화막의 기공은 전해질과 적절한 온도 등 제작 조건에서 자기 조립하여 고도로 정렬된 (Highly ordered) 나노기공을 가지는 AAO (AnodicAluminum Oxide)를 제조하는데 주로 쓰이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 다단계 산화방법으로 빛의 파장에 무관하게 빛의 반사를 매우 효과적으로 줄이는 포물선 형태의 Moth-eye 구조를 가지는 템플릿을 제조하였다. SEM 측정을 통해 구조체 다공성 알루미늄 산화막의 표면적 변화를 알 수 있었고, 일정한 크기와 모양의 pore가 규칙적으로 형성된 것을 확인하였다. 그리고 제조된 템플릿 내부에 고분자를 채워 포물선 형태의 나노핀을 갖는 필름을 제조할 수 있었다.
