RLDB: Robust Local Difference Binary Descriptor with Integrated Learning-based Optimization

  • Local binary descriptors are well-suited for many real-time and/or large-scale computer vision applications, while their low computational complexity is usually accompanied by the limitation of performance. In this paper, we propose a new optimization framework, RLDB (Robust-LDB), to improve a typical region-based binary descriptor LDB (local difference binary) and maintain its computational simplicity. RLDB extends the multi-feature strategy of LDB and applies a more complete region-comparing configuration. A cascade bit selection method is utilized to select the more representative patterns from massive comparison pairs and an online learning strategy further optimizes descriptor for each specific patch separately. They both incorporate LDP (linear discriminant projections) principle to jointly guarantee the robustness and distinctiveness of the features from various scales. Experimental results demonstrate that this integrated learning framework significantly enhances LDB. The improved descriptor achieves a performance comparable to floating-point descriptors on many benchmarks and retains a high computing speed similar to most binary descriptors, which better satisfies the demands of applications.

  • Selection of a suitable task from the extensively available large set of tasks is an intricate job for the developers in crowdsourcing software development (CSD). Besides, it is also a tiring and a time-consuming job for the platform to evaluate thousands of tasks submitted by developers. Previous studies stated that managerial and technical aspects have prime importance in bringing success for software development projects, however, these two aspects can be more effective and conducive if combined with human aspects. The main purpose of this paper is to present a conceptual framework for task assignment model for future research on the basis of personality types, that will provide a basic structure for CSD workers to find suitable tasks and also a platform to assign the task directly. This will also match their personality and task. Because personality is an internal force which whittles the behavior of developers. Consequently, this research presented a Task Assignment Model (TAM) from a developers point of view, moreover, it will also provide an opportunity to the platform to assign a task to CSD workers according to their personality types directly.

A scoping review of cephalometric normative data in children

  • Objective: Understanding the orofacial characteristics and growth patterns in children is essential for both orthodontics and research on children with orofacial abnormalities. However, a concise resource of normative data on the size and relative position of these structures in different populations is not available. Our objective was to aggregate normative data to assess the growth of the orofacial skeletal structures in children with a well-balanced face and normal occlusion. Methods: The MEDLINE, Embase, and Scopus databases were searched. Inclusion criteria included longitudinal and cross-sectional studies on cephalometric measurement of skeletal tissues and a study population ≤ 18 years with a well-balanced face and normal occlusion. Key study parameters were extracted, and knowledge was synthesized. A quality appraisal was performed using a 10-point scale. Results: The final selection comprised of 12 longitudinal and 33 cross-sectional studies, the quality of which ranged from good to excellent. Our results showed that from childhood to adulthood, the length of the cranial base increased significantly while the cranial base angle remained constant; both the maxilla and mandible moved forward and downward. The profile becomes straighter with age. Conclusions: Growth patterns in children with a well-balanced face and normal occlusion follow accepted theories of growth.

VILODE : 키 프레임 영상과 시각 단어들을 이용한 실시간 시각 루프 결합 탐지기 (VILODE : A Real-Time Visual Loop Closure Detector Using Key Frames and Bag of Words)

  • 본 논문에서는 키 프레임 영상과 SURF 특징점 기반의 시각 단어들을 이용한 효과적인 실시간 시각 루프 결합 탐지기 VILODE를 제안한다. 시각 루프 결합 탐지기는 과거에 지나온 위치들 중 하나를 다시 재방문하였는지를 판단하기 위해, 새로운 입력 영상을 이미 지나온 위치들에서 수집한 과거 영상들과 모두 비교해보아야 한다. 따라서 새로운 위치나 장소를 방문할수록 비교 대상 영상들이 계속해서 증가하기 때문에, 일반적으로 루프 결합 탐지기는 실시간 제약과 높은 탐지 정확도를 동시에 만족하기 어렵다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해, 본 시스템에서는 입력 영상들 중에서 의미 있는 것들만을 선택해 이들만을 비교하는 효과적인 키 프레임 선택 방법을 채택하였다. 따라서 루프 탐지에 필요한 영상 비교를 대폭 줄일 수 있다. 또한 본 시스템에서는 루프 결합 탐지의 정확도와 효율성을 높이기 위해, 키 프레임 영상들을 시각 단어들로 표현하고, DBoW 데이터베이스 시스템을 이용해 키 프레임 영상들에 대한 색인을 구성하였다. TUM 대학의 벤치마크 데이터들을 이용한 실험을 통해, 본 논문에서 제안한 시각 루프 결합 탐지기의 높은 성능을 확인할 수 있었다.

Selection of Key Management Targets for Claim Causes through Relational Analysis on the Causes of Change Order Claims

  • As various stakeholders are involved in construction projects, disputes between the parties are more likely to occur, which is a very important issue for the participants in the projects. Claims in construction projects, however, are very complex and thus difficult to manage. In particular, as the cause of a claim in the preceding stage that has not been resolved in a timely manner has an effect on the cause of a claim in the following stage, it is difficult to find a point of compromise regarding a claim caused by the relationship between the causes that occur in the preceding and following stages. In this regard, this study sought to examine the rules for the generation of change order claims, which occur most frequently among the construction claims, and thus to select the key management targets through the analysis of the relationship between the causes of claims arising in the preceding and following stages for the efficient management of claims. It is expected that the use of rules for the generation of change order claims as well as of representative and similar cases will help the construction practitioners in judging claims, considering the relationships among the causes of the claims. Meanwhile, in this study, association analysis was conducted regarding the causes of the occurrence of change order claims in a design-build delivery method, and therefore, it is necessary to verify the effectiveness of the method when applied to other delivery methods.

기계학습에 기반한 생의학분야 전문용어의 자동인식 (Machine-Learning Based Biomedical Term Recognition)

  • 일정 분야의 문서들에서 그 분야 특정을 반영하는 전문용어를 자동으로 인식하는 연구에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. '전문용어 인식'은 문서에서 전문용어가 될 수 있는 언어적 단위를 파악하는 '용어 추출' 과정과 '용어추출' 과정에서 얻어진 용어목록 중 해당분야의 전문용어를 고르는 '전문용어 선택' 과정으로 구성된다. '전문용어 선택' 과정은 용어목록을 전문용어의 특정에 따라 순위화한 후 타당한 전문용어를 파악하는 작업으로 정의된다. 따라서 전문용어 선택 문제는 용어목록의 순위화 작업과 순위화된 목록에서 전문용어와 비전문용어 간의 경계를 인식하는 작업으로 정의된다. 기존의 전문용어 선택 기법은 주로 용어의 빈도수 등과 같은 통계적 특정만을 이용하였다. 하지만 통계적 특정만으로는 효과적으로 전문용어를 선택하기 어렵다. 본 논문의 논제는 전문용어 선택에서 다양한 전문용어의 특정을 고려하고 이들 중 전문용어 선택에서 효과적인 특정을 찾으려는 것이다. 순위화 문제는 다양한 전문용어 특정을 도출하고 이들을 기계학습방법으로 통합하여 해결한다. 경계인식 문제는 전문용어와 비전문용어의 이진 분류 문제로 정의하고 기계학습방법으로 해결한다. 본 논문의 기법은 경계인식측면에서 78-86%의 정확률과 87% -90%의 재현율을 나타내었으며, 순위화 측면에서 89%-92%의 11포인트 평균정확률을 나타내었다. 또한 기존 연구보다 최고 26% 의 성능향상을 보였다.

Characterization of Mutations in AlHK1 Gene from Alternaria longipes: Implication of Limited Function of Two-Component Histidine Kinase on Conferring Dicarboximide Resistance

  • Four series (S, M, R, and W) of Alternaria longipes isolates were obtained based on consecutive selection with Dimethachlon (Dim) and ultraviolet irradiation. These isolates were then characterized according to their tolerance to Dim, sensitivity to osmotic stress, and phenotypic properties. All the selected Dim-resistant isolates showed a higher osmosensitivity than the parental strains, and the last generation was more resistant than the first generation in the M, R, and W series. In addition, the changes in the Dim resistance and osmotic sensitivity were not found to be directly correlated, and no distinct morphologic characteristics were found among the resistant and sensitive isolates, with the exception of the resistant isolate K-11. Thus, to investigate the molecular basis of the fungicide resistance, a group III two-component histidine kinase (HK) gene, AlHK1, was cloned from nineteen A. longipes isolates. AlHK1p was found to be comprised of a six 92-amino-acid repeat domain (AARD), HK domain, and response regulator domain, similar to the Os-1p from Neurospora crassa. A comparison of the nucleotide sequences of the AlHK1 gene from the Dim-sensitive and -resistant isolates revealed that all the resistant isolates contained a single-point mutation in the AARD of AlHK1p, with the exception of isolate K-11, where the AlHK1p contained a deletion of 107 amino acids. Moreover, the AlHK1p mutations in the isolates of each respective series involved the same amino acid substitution at the same site, although the resistance levels differed significantly in each series. Therefore, these findings suggested that a mutation in the AARD of AlHK1p was not the sole factor responsible for A. longipes resistance to dicarboximide fungicides.

IPA를 활용한 관광펜션업 선택속성의 중요도-만족도 연구 (Research on the Importance and Satisfaction of Selection Attribute for Pension using Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA))

  • 본 연구는 경기 남부지역의 펜션이용자들의 선택속성에 관한 연구이다. 펜션의 선택시에 중요하게 생각하는 중요도와 만족도를 IPA분석을 활용하여 이에 따른 결과와 마케팅적 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다. 설문조사는 2012년 1월 초부터 3월 말까지 일대일 방식으로 진행하였고, 총 300부를 배포하였으며, 불성실하게 응답한 설문지 71부를 제외한 총 229부를 유효표본으로 활용하였다. 본 연구의 유효 표본에 대한 분석은 SPSS for Window Version 15.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 표본의 일반적인 사항은 빈도분석(Frequency Analysis)을 실시하여 표본의 특성을 파악하였고 대응표본 T 검정(Paired Sample T-test)과 IPA분석을 활용하여 연구하였다. 연구의 결과는 첫째, 선택속성 중에 객실 관리 상태 및 청결, 친절한 서비스, 냉 난방 시설 등이 선택속성시 중요한 항목으로 선정되었다. 둘째, 펜션 선택속성의 중요도-만족도의 분석을 시행한 결과 모든 항목에 서 유의수준(p<0.01, p<0.001)내에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 셋째, IPA분석을 통해 나타난 분석결과를 토대로 하여 펜션에서는 다양한 프로그램과 고객 만족경영이 필요한 것으로 사료된다.

환동해권 항만물류산업 활성화방안 - 강원도를 중심으로 - (Around East Sea Region Port Logistics Industry Activation Scheme with Gangwon Province)

  • 본 논문는 환동해권에서 입지적 우위를 갖는 강원도의 항만물류산업 활성화 방안을 모색함으로써 지역경제발전에 기여하고자 하였다. 본 논문은 강원도 항만물류산업의 활성화방안을 강원도와 정부 측면으로 구분하여 제시하였다. 강원도 차원에서는 국제물류 환경변화에 따른 거점 항만의 지정 및 개발, 환동해권 주요 항만간 네트워크 및 전자항만 시스템의 구축, 그리고 항만배후지 지원을 위한 자유무역지대나 경제자유지역 같은 경제특구의 조성 및 확대 방안을 제시하였다. 또한 배후단지에는 환동해권의 자원과 관련된 산업을 유치 및 육성하는 것이 효과적이라는 것과 적극적인 항만물류마케팅 활동의 추진을 주문하였다. 정부 차원에서는 강원도 항만에 대한 직접적인 접근성 및 연계성 확대를 위한 SOC 투자 확대 방안과 정부의 서남해안 위주 항만개발정책의 전환을 통한 강원도 항만에 대한 적극적이고 효율적인 지원을 요구하였다. 끝으로 항만물류 분야의 첨단화와 글로벌화가 급속히 확대되는 상황에서 종합적인 전문물류인력양성 기관의 설치 및 지원이 필요함을 제시하였다.

창업보육센터 운영실태 분석과 육성방안;인천지역 창업보육센터를 중심으로

  • In today's world economy, technology and knowledge have become the key words for value creation. Since 1998, various research institutions and universities in Korea, with support from Small and Medium Business Administration, have buckled to establish and operate incubating centers in order to foster such industries. Even though these centers have been operated in accordance with the purpose of the establishment, it has been over six years now, and it is necessary to evaluate its overall performance before moving on. Incubating a venture company results in not only technology innovation, but also jobs creation and economic growth. Knowing the importance of that, a government, at all levels, has supported the incubating centers as the most effective way to support venture companies in Korea. Incheon now plays a great role as a hub of logistics and trade in North East Asia. In order to nurture the city as the center of Korean economy, the city of Incheon has financially supported various incubating centers in the city, in an effort to incubate potential venture companies with lack of business experiences. It is imperative to find out what these companies need and how they evaluate the system at this point to develop a guiding principle of its operation as well as a careful selection process of a company in the future. In section II of this research, a concept of an incubating center is defined. An objective, a policy of its operation as well as its structure are explained in this chapter with case studies of Incheon College. 'Resources' are divided into human resources and material resources. And the survey that 71 different companies (out of 164 companies in 10 different incubating centers) have participated in is included in this section as well.
