Enhancing the Narrow-down Approach to Large-scale Hierarchical Text Classification with Category Path Information

  • The narrow-down approach, separately composed of search and classification stages, is an effective way of dealing with large-scale hierarchical text classification. Recent approaches introduce methods of incorporating global, local, and path information extracted from web taxonomies in the classification stage. Meanwhile, in the case of utilizing path information, there have been few efforts to address existing limitations and develop more sophisticated methods. In this paper, we propose an expansion method to effectively exploit category path information based on the observation that the existing method is exposed to a term mismatch problem and low discrimination power due to insufficient path information. The key idea of our method is to utilize relevant information not presented on category paths by adding more useful words. We evaluate the effectiveness of our method on state-of-the art narrow-down methods and report the results with in-depth analysis.

반응표면분석에 의한 쌀 압출성형물의 품질평가 (Quality Measurement of Rice - Mixture Extrudate by the Response Surface Regression Analysis)

  • The study was designed to investigate overall acceptability of rice extrudate with added ginseng flour extruded by single screw extruder. Graphic three dimension analysis on response surface regression was conducted for overall acceptability evaluated by balanced incomplete block design. Overall acceptability, which formed a saddle point, increased as moisture content increased at lower die temperature, and as moisture content decreased at higher die temperature. Critical values of each variable which indicated optimum response are 5.0% ginseng content, 17.8% moisture content and 104.6$^{\circ}C$ die temperature, and optimum inferred score of overall acceptability is 59.6 and 90. 한국 연안의 극히 파랑환경과 Freak Wave의 특성에 관한 연구 (Extreme and Freak Wave Characteristics in the Coastal Writers of Korean Peninsula)

  • Extreme environments and freak wave characteristics in the coastal waters of Korean Peninsula are analyzed using the observed wave data. Freak wave has been intensely emphasized as an important environmental force parameter in several recent research works. However, the mechanism and occurrence probability of freak wave are not clarified. The aims of this study we: to summarize the distribution of extreme environment for wind waves, and to find occurrence probability of freak wave in the coastal waters of Korean Peninsula. These extreme sea conditions are discussed by applying extreme value analysis method, and the statistic characteristics are summarized which can be used to the design and analysis of coastal structures. The mechanism and the occurrence probability of freak wave are also discussed in detail using wave parameters in considered with wave deformation in the coastal waters. 한국인의 고향관: 그 지리학적 요인과 정서(ethos)의 관계 (Koreans Sense of Home: An Analysis of the Relationship between Their Ethos and Relevant Geographical Attributes)

  • 본 연구에서는 고향의 개념을 의미론적 측면과 지리학적 입장에서 정의하고, 한국 사람들이 고향이라고 지칭하는 고향의 공간적 대상, 고향에 대한 감정과 선호, 고향의 지리적 특징 및 이미지 등을 조사하여, 이를 중심으로 한국인의 고향에 대한 애착의 본질과 정서(ethos)를 밝히려 하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국인의 고향에 대한 애착은 본질적으로 고향 의식과 회귀본능과 같은 고향에 대한 인류의 보편적 정서로부터 나온 것이다. 둘째. 이러한 보편적 정서 위에 한국의 사회적 배경에서 나오는 고유한 고향의식이 첨가되었다. 사회적 배경에서 발생된 고향에 대한 강한 애착은 효에 근본을 둔 유교적 전통, 남북분단, 도시화에 따른 광범위한 실향의 결과에 의해서 형성된 정서라고 볼수 있다. 섯째, 고향이미지는 이러한 한국의 정서를 반영하고 있으며, 자연환경적, 인문환경적, 감각적 요소가 모두 수렴된 전형적이며, 추상화된 유형으로 나타난다. 넛째, 한국인의 고향에 대한 정서는 인간의 본성으로부터 나오는 보편적 정서와 대체로는 일치하지만 개인이나 집단의 인구.사회적 배경과 공간적 체험에 따라 다른 것으로 나타났다.

백설기에 첨가된 Guar gum 수준이 혈장 포도당과 인슐린에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Guar gum levels in Backsulgies on Plasma Glucose and Insulin in Healthly Men)

  • Backsulgies containing various levels of guar gum(0g, 2.5g or 5g) were ingested by ten healthy male subjects after 12-h fast. Guar backsulgies was given a time in a week a time in a week for 3 weeks with 75g glucose. The Sensory qualities of backsulgies containing guar gum powder of different levels(0g, 2.5, 5g) were also evaluated using a hedonic scoring technique. On each test day 4ml samples of venous blood were taken from the fasted subjects. Further 4ml post-prandial blood samples were taken from the subjects 30, 60, 90 and 120min after guar backsulgies had commenced. Result were as follows: Plasma glucose and insulin levels were not sifnificantly reduced according to guar gum levels in backsulgies. But plasma glucose and insulin levels of the case which ingested 5g guar backsulgies tended to be lower than those of the case which ingested 0g or 2.5g guar backsulgies. Therefore it is recommended that 5g guar backsulgies is most effective snack of diabetics. KEY WORDS: guar backsulgies plasma glucose, plasma insulin, snack.

  • The purpose of this study is to analysis web sites which relate to housing environment on Internet and to suggest guidelines which are needed in digital life. Data are from key words in 53 web sites searched by housing environmental word such as people, living, town and so on. The results of this study were as follow: The web sites are divided into e-housing community, e-housing management, e-housing workplace and e-housing design. These are the digital life of new type. E-housing community sites make new wired community cross time and space. E -housing management sites provide the useful information of housing environment. E-housing workplace. sites enable us to work in cyberspace and e-housing design sites relate to consulting interior design. The web life style on Internet is common and makes many changes happen in house life and environment.

  • Catalytic slurry reactors, in which a solid maintained in the rom of fine particles suspended in a liquid, are frequently used in chemical and biochemical and industries. In these processes the particle loading is normally low so that the effects of particles on the liquid-film mass transfer coefacent and the gas-liquid interface area are assumed to be negligible. But it is known from the works, amongst others, that the finely powdered activated carbon can increase the gas-liquid mass transfer significantly in surface-aerated reactors. The stirred cell (13.2cm inside diameter) contained four baffles and at the stirring speeds range of 80 ∼ 300ppm, the gas-liquid interfacial area could be considered as that of the cross section of the vessel (that is, 130.1cm2). When the stirrer speeds were increased, the effective interfacial area was slightly higher than the geometric area and was obtained experimentally from the Danckwerts plots.   • The purpose of this study is to investigate if recommendation selling (methods of recommendation selling, a key word used for recommendation, and employee attitude) influences the customers' menu decision. The results of the study are as follows: 'Menu picture' and 'explanation by word' among the tools used by employees for recommendation were found to influence customers' menu decision. The words such as 'new menu' and 'special only today' used by employees for recommendation were found to influence customers' menu decision. Employees' attitude elements such as 'interesting explanation', 'dressed up tidy', 'strong intention', and 'patience' were found to influence customer's menu decision. 'Recommendation selling' in the food and beverage industry means 'employees help customers make a good decision on food and beverage service'. This study makes an important contribution to the food industry in terms of providing substantial marketing strategies.

호밀건초 Pellet 조제시 NaOH 처리가 사료가치에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Sodium Hydroxide Treatment on Nutritive Value of Pelleted Rye Hay)

  • This syudy was conducted to increase the utility of forage rye which are suitable to be cultivated at high altitude Taekwllyong area. For that purpose two cultivars of rye (winter-more, kool-glazer) were cultivated for 3years using a randomized block design with 3 replications. The dry matter digestibility (DMD) was evaluated with the pelleted rye hay produced by adding sodium hydroxide and then the TDN value was calculated by the DMD. By adding NaOH, DMD and TDN value of rye pellets (Y=46.92+ 1.8X, ~ 0 . 9 7 )w ere increased significantly (p<0.05) and NDF (neutral detergent fiber) decrease significantly. However, ADF (acid detergent fiber) and lignin did not significantly decrease (p<0.05). Rye could be cultivated as a second crop after com at high altitude area in the same year and pelleted with NaOH in order to increase the nutritive values (p< 0.05). 수소기질 결핍 및 공급 기간비 변화에 따른 슬러지 입상화 (Sludge Granulation Depending Hydrogen Feeding on The Varying Periods of Hydrogen Feeding and Starvation)

  • Granular sludge formation and it's activity change are the most important factors in achieving successful start-up and operation of UASB reactor. Nevertheless, the detailed mechanism is still unknown. On the basic of the experiments in laboratory-scale UASB reactor, the effect of hydrogen partial pressure on sludge granulation was evaluated. Size distribution method and specific metabolic activity of the sludge with the operation time were used as a means for estimating the degree of the sludge granulation. At the constant hydrogen loading, the granulation increased as starvation periods in hydrogen supply increased, resulting in high organic removal efficiency. It was evidient that hydrogen play very important role in granulation and sludge granulation was achieved through mutual symbiosis between hydrogen utilizing bacteria and hydrogen producing bacteria under the hydrogen dificient conditions.
