Pictorial Structures is known as an effective method that recognizes and tracks human poses. In this paper, the upper body pose is also tracked by PS and a particle filter(PF). PF is one of dynamic programming methods. But Markov chain-based dynamic motion model which is used in dynamic programming methods such as PF, couldn't predict effectively the highly articulated upper body motions. Therefore PF often fails to track upper body pose. In this paper we propose the key pose-based proposal distribution for proper particle prediction based on the similarities between key poses and an upper body silhouette. In the experimental results we confirmed our 70.51% improved performance comparing with a conventional method.
In this paper, we present a method for data-driven correction of the noisy motion data captured from a low-end RGB-D camera such as the Kinect device. For this purpose, our key idea is to construct a synchronized motion database captured with Kinect and additional specialized motion capture device simultaneously, so that the database contains a set of erroneous poses from Kinect and their corresponding correct poses from the mocap device together. In runtime, given motion captured data from Kinect, we search the similar K candidate Kinect poses from the database, and synthesize a new motion only by using their corresponding poses from the mocap device. We present how to build such motion database effectively, and provide a method for querying and searching a desired motion from the database. We also adapt the laze learning framework to synthesize the corrected poses from the querying results.
This paper proposes a 3D animated body profile using 3D body scanning and motion capture devices. Users can create their own personalized body profiles with animation by performing 3D scans for a predetermined set of poses. To achieve this, a template animation was obtained through motion capture for a series of poses, and the acquired 3D scan data from users was mapped to the key poses of the animation using Pose-space deformer. The resulting 3D animated body profiles provide users with greater satisfaction compared to traditional static 2D images or 3D scan data.
Dealing with the DC link fault poses a technical problem for an HVDC based on a modular multilevel converter. The fault suppressing mechanisms of several sub-module topologies with DC fault current blocking capacity are examined in this paper. An improved half-bridge sub-module topology with double direction control switch is also designed to address the additional power consumption problem, and a sub-module topology called hybrid double direction blocking sub module (HDDBSM) is proposed. The DC fault suppression characteristics and sub-module capacitor voltage balance problem is also analyzed, and a self-startup method is designed according to the number of capacitors. The simulation model in PSCAD/EMTDC is built to verify the self-startup process and the DC link fault suppression features.

PURPOSE: The coexistence of age-related skeletal muscle mass loss and obesity poses a substantial health risk for individuals because it combines the detrimental effects of muscle mass reduction associated with aging and the health complications from obesity. This study aimed to identify the incidence rate and key influencing elements among Korean men in their thirties. METHODS: A cross-sectional study involving 934 male participants was performed using complex sampling analysis. Various influencing elements were investigated, including age, height, weight, body mass index, waist circumference, skeletal muscle mass index, smoking and drinking behaviors, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, fasting glucose levels, triglyceride, and cholesterol levels. RESULTS: The incidence rate was 2.90%. The key influencing elements were age, height, weight, body mass index, waist circumference, skeletal muscle index, systolic blood pressure, fasting glucose, triglyceride, and total cholesterol (p < .05). CONCLUSION: This study identified the incidence rate and key influencing element for CALSMO among Korean younger community-dwelling men.
Acanthoside-D, one of major components of Acanthopanacis Cortex, is known as a ginseng-like substance. it has been known to possess diverse biological effects. Acanthoside-D has a furofuran lignan structure and the synthesis of which poses interesting and often unsolved proplems of stereocontrol. Although a few interesting syntheses providing this natural product have been reported, an intermolecular McMurry coupling - intramolecular Mitsunobu cyclization route has not yet been explored. We report here a short and efficient synthetic pathway to the total synthesis of Acanthoside-D from aryl aldehydes and methyl acrylates via Baylis-Hillman reaction, intermolecular McMurry coupling and intramolecular Mitsunobu cyclization as key reaction.
A large amount of dye wastewater poses a threat to environmental safety. Disperse blue, an anthraquinone dye that is widely used in textile dyes, is difficult to degrade in wastewater. In this work, one fungus was screened according to the decolorization rate of disperse blue. The fungus was identified and named Aspergillus XJ-2 on the basis of its morphological characteristics and 18s rDNA. Response surface method was used to optimize culture conditions for A. XJ-2. The optimum values of obtained responses were as follows: temperature, $35^{\circ}C$; pH, 5.2; carbon-to-nitrogen ratio, 30:5.5; and rotation ratio, $175r{\cdot}min^{-1}$. Under optimized conditions, the decolorization rate of A. XJ-2 was up to 94.8% in 48 h.
Given that the current Newcastle disease virus (NDV) infection in wild birds poses the threat to poultry, surveillance of Newcastle disease in captive wild birds was carried out in Jilin, China in 2018. Here, an NDV strain obtained from toco toucan was firstly characterized. The results showed that the F gene of the NDV isolate Toucan/China/3/2018 is classified as genotype II in class II. Sequence analysis of the F0 cleavage site was 113RQGR/L117, which supports the result of the intracerebral pathogenicity index assay indicating classification of the isolate as low-pathogenicity. Experimental infection demonstrated that Toucan/China/3/2018 can effectively replicate and transmit among chickens. To our knowledge, this is the first report on genetically and pathogenically characterizing NDV strain isolated from toucan, which enriches the epidemiological information of NDV in wild birds.

A recent study to determine the fall is focused on analyzing fall motions using a recurrent neural network (RNN), and uses a deep learning approach to get good results for detecting human poses in 2D from a mono color image. In this paper, we investigated the improved detection method to estimate the position of the head and shoulder key points and the acceleration of position change using the skeletal key points information extracted using PoseNet from the image obtained from the 2D RGB low-cost camera, and to increase the accuracy of the fall judgment. In particular, we propose a fall detection method based on the characteristics of post-fall posture in the fall motion analysis method and on the velocity of human body skeleton key points change as well as the ratio change of body bounding box's width and height. The public data set was used to extract human skeletal features and to train deep learning, GRU, and as a result of an experiment to find a feature extraction method that can achieve high classification accuracy, the proposed method showed a 99.8% success rate in detecting falls more effectively than the conventional primitive skeletal data use method.

Increasing prevalence of childhood obesity poses threats to the global health burden. Because this rising prevalence cannot be fully explained by traditional risk factors such as unhealthy diet and physical inactivity, early-life exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) is recognized as emerging novel risk factors for childhood obesity. EDCs can disrupt the hormone-mediated metabolic pathways, affect children's growth and mediate the development of childhood obesity. Many organic pollutants are recently classified to be EDCs. In this review, we summarized the epidemiological and laboratory evidence related to EDCs and childhood obesity, and discussed the possible mechanisms underpinning childhood obesity and early-life exposure to non-persistent organic pollutants (phthalates, bisphenol A, triclosan) and persistent organic pollutants (dichlorodip henyltrichloroethane, polychlorinated biphenyls, polybrominated diphenyl ethers, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). Understanding the relationship between EDCs and childhood obesity helps to raise public awareness and formulate public health policy to protect the youth from exposure to the harmful effects of EDCs.
