The purpose of this study is to describe the central argument of postmodern theory ; pro-vide a central concept about postmodernism for fashion ; identify the signficance of open fashion in the 20th century. Postmodern is used to refer to a body of social theory, a style of aesthetic expression, and to various social practics and economic conditions. In this paper, postmodern theory is interpreted as an anti-aesthetics propesed by Derrida, Lyotard, Baudrillard, and Foster. The key principles and consepts of postmodern the-ory reflect and restate assumptions of nihilism influenced by the works of Nietzsche, being synonymous with the phrase philosophy of difference. The death of art, the end of progress, the will to the sublime, and the principle of pure difference support postmodern ideas, which could be the framework to interprete fashion phenomenon in postmodern condition.

The most profound technologies are those that disappear. Silicon-based information technology, in contrast, is far from having become part of the environment. The idea of integrating computers seamlessly into the world at large runs counter to a number of present-day trends. Ubiquitous computing is not just aiming nomad multimedia. Rather, this computing environment lets us free to use computers without thinking and so to focus beyond them on new goals. In that context, Mom is such a fundamental membrane through which humans can interact with the environment. An embodied interaction paradigm, based on Mom, is investigated. Mom, space. sensing/perception, ubiquitous computing, and interactive technology are some of the key ideas to explore.

The assessment of the potential for the design of marine renewable energy systems is reviewed and the current situation for marine renewable energy is promising. The most studied forms of marine renewable energy are ocean wind energy, ocean wave energy and tidal energy. Wind turbine generators include mostly horizontal axis type and vertical axis type. But also more exotic ideas such as a kite design. Wave energy devices consist of designs converting wave oscillations in electric power via a power take off equipment. Such equipment can take multiple forms to be more efficient. Nevertheless, the technology alone cannot be the only step towards marine renewable energy. Many other steps must be overcome: policy, environment, manpower as well as consumption habits. After reviewing the current conditions of marine renewable energy development, the authors analyzed the key factors for developing a strong marine renewable energy industry and pointed out the huge potential of marine renewable energy.

The emergence of systems biology in the 21st century is changing the paradigm of biomedical research. Whereas the reductionist approaches focus on components rather than time or contexts, systems biology focus more on interrelationships, dynamics, and contexts. The key ideas of the systems biology shares much with the philosophy of Korean Medicine(KM) and therefore, the paradigm shift is shedding light on understanding the mechanism of action of KM at system level. In this article, I provide a guide to learning systems biology for KM researchers using online learning resources. Thanks to the recent development of MOOC(massive open online courses) and other online learning platforms, learners can access to plenty of high-quality resources from top-tier universities in the world. I expect this guide help researchers to employ systems biology methods into their KM researches, and will lead to the development of future curricula for training "bi-lingual" experts, KM and computational approaches.

Recently, many of rural villages are pursuing rural tourism to attract citizens and increase nonfarm income. A key of rural village plan utilizing rural amenity resources is to make sustainable villages considering regional character and potential for development that will work for the residents. In this study, we analyzed Rural Amenity Design Competition winning works which will be possible solutions to make proper plans for rural village and applied these contents to study areas. Three villages were selected as study areas and more than two types of amenity utilization were settled for planning direction for each village to have specialized and unique plan. Through Rural Amenity Design Competition which is being held annually, we will be able to get more data throughout rural area and verify trend of rural village planning. By selecting theme of the competition reflects needs of the time, more detailed and original ideas on amenity village planning can be drawn and this will contribute to proper and stable village planning.

The purpose of this study was to develop a new test instrument based on AAAS Benchmarks for Science Literacy, to assess k-12 students' progress in understanding nature of science (NOS). A total of 276 items were developed including 33 items for grade k-2, 36 items for grade 3-5, 78 items for grade 6-8 and 129 items for grade 9-12 and they were reviewed for validity and reliability. Key ideas that were the foundation of test items were extended, sophisticated and enriched according to the grade level. The general score of this test represents a student's cognitive state about an understanding of NOS. The result of this test can be expected to give some useful information for follow-up investigations, improving instructional design, and conducting further studies.

This paper examined the principles of experiential learning theory (ELT) relevant to learning from experience and introduces examples which were applied to medical education from a theoretical perspective. The experiential learning theory encompasses the theories of Dewey, Kolb, and Schon, whose key ideas highlight the continuity of experience, interaction of experience, and reflection. According to ELT, growth is education, and education is a reconstruction of experience. Experiential learning is a way of thinking about the educational process by constructing meaningful learning through reflection-in-action. This paper examines the learning principles of ELT and presents practical examples of the application of ELT and its implications for medical education. An in-depth understanding and application of ELT could benefit the field of medical education.

The balance between life and death of a cell regulates essential developmental processes in multicellular organisms. Apoptotic cell death is a complex, stepwise program involving multiple protein components that trigger and execute the demise of the cell. Of the many triggers of apoptosis, most are not well understood, but some key components have been identified, such as those of the Bcl-2 family, which function as anti-apoptotic or proapoptotic factors. Bax, a pro-apoptotic member of this family, has been shown to serve as a component of many apoptotic triggering cascades and its mechanism of action is the focus of intense study. Herein we discuss current, differing ideas on the function of Bax and its structure, and suggest novel mechanisms for how this death protein targets mitochondria, triggering apoptosis.

Purpose: This research aims to verify the role of mobile shopping attributes, trustworthiness, and cultural dimensions on mobile shopping intentions in Saudi Arabia. The originality of the model stems from the verification of the moderating impact of cultural variables, namely collectivism and masculinity, and from the integration of trustworthiness as a variable depending on mobile shopping attributes. Research design, data and methodology: A survey was distributed to 233 consumers with different nationalities living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Structural equation modeling and multi-group analysis were carried out to verify the conceptual model and the moderating variables. Results: The findings support the influence of several innovation attributes, namely complexity and trialability on behavioral intentions, while relative advantage has a direct impact on trustworthiness. A few paths are moderated by masculinity and collectivism. Conclusions: Culture and mobile commerce attributes need to be thought out by managers as factors influencing mobile commerce segmentation for expatriates and locals. Trustworthiness is also a key factor of mobile shopping adoption. Limitations and future research ideas are presented to enrich the proposed model and improve its predictive validity.

We propose a robot museum, "ROSIEUM," based on a new concept of museum. Roles of a new concept based museum are being investigated. We also propose a classification scheme for robot contents as museum's collections. This scheme for collecting and displaying robot contents includes the first robots, the delegate robots, the robots with special meanings, the robot experiences and the robot events. Also, types of robot contents are described. Key ideas and scenario for "ROSIEUM" have been presented. Operations of "ROSIEUM" are designed and implemented.
